The Phenomenal Picnic Dining Spots of Philly | Eater Philly

"One of the most cherished parks in University City, Clark Park is known for its weekend farmer’s market, a picnic grove with grills, multi-age natured based playgrounds, and basketball courts. Across the street, at 43rd Street and Baltimore Avenue, is Green Line Cafe (one of three locations), which offers an abundance of caffeinated beverages, bagels by the local brand Red House, and a sizable menu of breakfast and lunch sandwiches (try the breakfast burrito or the vegan tofu banh mi)." - George Banks-Weston

Where to Get the Best Fall Lattes in Philly

"With locations across the city, Green Line Cafe is a Philadelphia staple serving up an assortment of pastries, coffee, and teas. Here you can upgrade any of its lattes with one of its many specialty syrups. The lavender London fog made with earl grey tea, steamed milk, and lavender syrup may be just what you need to kick back and relax on those frigid autumn nights." - George Banks-Weston

This cute coffee shop right next to the market was a great stop on our stop to west philly. We wanted to mix it up a bit so they gave us a recommendation based on our usual and it was pretty solid. Earthy and strong with a bit of light foam. The place itself was spacious and even though it was busy, we didn't have much of a wait. The staff was pretty friendly. It seemed like the prices were pretty good as well. We didn't work here but the wifi seemed pretty decent as well and we saw others working. Overall a good spot.

The staff here is usually really awesome, but the guy working the counter this morning isn’t the best. He charges me for oat milk every time he takes my order despite me clearly saying regular milk (i used to say whole but switched to saying regular by chance he was misunderstanding me). I am not lactose intolerant or vegan, and I prefer whole milk because it is unfortunately more nutritionally dense than oat. I have no reason to spend the extra money on oat. This is an issue with consent, and I hope this guy reads this and reflects. It’s not cool to repeatedly add charges on to drinks that people didn’t order. Edit: I write this review because this isn’t the first and only negative experience I and other people have had with him. These guys will ridicule orders and make negative remarks to customers. It’s a shame honestly. The ladies and queers who work here are wonderful.

Love love their Bagels 🥯 and coffee beans!!! Bagels were freshly made and coffee beans (French pressed coarse). I’m definitely coming back as a frequent customer! Love supporting small businesses like here 👍🏽 ThankYou!

I tipped these two girls 20%. They completely forgot my sandwich and then the attached picture is the “oatmeal” they gave my friend… this is like an undercooked box of oats for a horse. We came home, microwaved it a lot, and then it was finally sort of the consistency of oatmeal but the flavor was whack. If you’re gonna be a cute little hipster coffee shop that’s fine, but then have good food and service that isn’t overpriced. I wish I went to Starbucks I feel scammed.

I like to drink two shots of espresso over lots of ice in a large cup with a small splash of milk. Most baristas ring me up and move on, I am not even paying attention to the price. Yesterday, the man taking my order said "You aren't going to make a latte with our milk, are you?" And then he threw the large cup away and gave me my order in a small cup, wasting a cup--why not just ring me up for a cup charge or even a latte if that's what he was worried about? Why accuse the customer of lying and make a point of throwing away a perfectly unused cup? Was he trying to teach me a lesson...

So I had time before a showing today, and a coworker recommended this place. I went in a little concerned. Most places with vegan options, tend to fail to deliver in other fare. And I have a ton of allergies. Not only were the workers courteous, they tried their best to help. But the atmosphere and food really sold it for me. I had the Lemon Strawberry Vegan Scone, and Blueberry Oatmeal Muffin. Things to know: I don't like scones I don't like vegan food And I often have allergic reactions to vegan foods.😑 This was DELICIOUS! 😄 I had them heat them up a little. The scone had the right amount of softness inside, and hardness outside. Amounting in perfect mouth feel. Not hard to chew, but not too soft either. The muffin was great too. Great flavors, softness, and no crazy breaking up. The only thing that makes it 2nd, is that the Scone was killer. I ate all the crumbs. That's how good it was. 😋

Google
Cafe option in Philly that has great coffee and pastries. I enjoyed how quickly I was able to get my food and get out. The service was great and the pastry even better. I hope to be back soon!

Cute coffee shop, better than other coffee shops around that neighborhood. I love the customer service, and the coffee tastes there good.

Yelp
Overall mediocre drinks, but they get the job done with so many options, and honestly I bumped them up purely on vibes. It felt super cozy in here-- there are a good amount of tables with outlets available, and though I expected it to be super busy because of how accessible tables are, I found that it wasn't busy at all. It was the perfect combination of people sitting along with some foot traffic. Not too quiet and not too loud. I ordered a matcha latte both times I came here. The first time, the barista recommended adding strawberry syrup to it. I love a matcha strawberry, so that sounded amazing. The strawberry is quite the artificial flavor, but it did the job and paired pretty well with the matcha. It was almost like a strawberry milk with matcha. I wish the matcha had been stronger because the strawberry was quite strong. I thought the same thing when I got a vanilla matcha the next day-- just needed more matcha in there to be satisfied with it. I loved how many syrup options they had. And it wasn't just regular syrup options that are offered in other places-- I remember there being coconut and lavender just to name a couple. I've seen a few reviews say that there's no wifi, but I definitely remember logging onto wifi. They have it posted right next to their bathroom!

Yelp
A popular, neighborhood coffee shop directly across the street from Clark Park. Indoor/outdoor seating and Wifi is available. The bathrooms are always clean, as is the rest of the place. It's not fancy inside but it doesn't have to be. Every time, I've gone in, there is always at least one table available, which is helpful. I've noticed that there is one employee that has been there for years, which is nice because it tells me that she likely is treated fairly to have stayed for so long. Good selection of coffee items, teas and food items (such as donuts and sandwiches). If you are plant based, they also have you covered with nut milks, sandwiches, and desert items.
google avatar

Kelli K.

Yelp
I love this location, it's great for people watching because it's across from Clark Park! Green Line makes a nice cup of coffee and the staff are always pleasant. The prepared food is okay and they have plenty of vegan/vegetarian options. It's good for something in a pinch. They also sell coffee here which has saved me a few times. Unfortunately there are not many tables and it feels like there are even less than there were pre-Covid. Makes it hard to meet someone here for coffee. They don't have wifi so if you do snag a table plan to use hotspot if you need internet.

Yelp
We were excited to try this place, sadly the barista ruined our experience. The barista with the glasses is extremely rude. Don't ask any questions, she doesn't like to answer anything. Or perhaps she's racist. So if you like your lattes with a side of rudeness, check it out. Barista with the glasses: If you hate your job, find a new one. To the owners, hire kind people. You can teach them how to do the job, but frankly, you cannot teach kindness.

Yelp
A local and very popular cafe with a number of locations around Philly. They have very tasty and fresh options for drinks and breakfast foods. I enjoy the muffins and coffee that they serve here. They also serve Dottie's doughnuts which is really neat and worth a short walk. They have a bunch of vegan and vegetarian options which surprisingly are very tasty as well. The hot cocoa is also good as they use honey as a sweetener which tastes amazing! There are many scattered around the city so it is a short walk typically or you may find parking for this one around Clark park. There is indoor and outdoor seating and a bathroom located inside. The place is small but has a quick turnaround and the line is never very long. I highly recommend this spot for breakfast!

Yelp
If you happen to be hanging around Spruce Hill, or indeed the larger area of University City, consider making the Green Line Cafe part of your day. We enjoyed our double espresso and iced coffee, both served "for here." (All Green Line espressos are doubles.) We liked the vibe of the place enough to return the next morning for breakfast. I docked one star because my espresso fell a bit short of greatness; indeed I thought that I detected a hint of staleness in the beans. For breakfast on our second visit, I ordered a cortado and a macchiato. The presence of milk on each of those drinks was enough to hide the staleness that I had detected in my espresso.

Yelp
Very cute vibes clean bathroom Got cappuccino foamy and good. Friendly service, would bring a girl here

Yelp
Loved my iced tea and bagel! Only thing is there's no Wi-Fi here. However, I would definitely return.

Yelp
Cold Brew Coffee Quest #7 With the start of summer in Philly, my wife and I are determined to find the best Cold Brew Coffee that our city has to offer! No national chains allowed. -Overall Score: 3 out of 5 -Pros: Prime location for West Philly Porchfest caffeine boost and airy + rustic café architecture -Cons: Singular dark + roasty flavor and served in a plastic cup

Yelp
Fantastic COVID-19 protocol in place. Easy online ordering and pickup. No one is allowed in the small space except to pick up orders placed online. They have a table setup right in front with hand sanitizer, napkins etc for easy maneuvering in & out quickly. No complaints

Dana J.

Yelp
Love the vegan tofu sandwiches and multiple vegan options. Quiet and friendly place next to the park

Yelp
I've come here twice in the past month, once for lunch (ended up taking the food to go because there was no space) and another time for a drink. The space is tiny here, it's more enjoyable when it's not crowded. When ordering for lunch, it was awkward waiting for the order because there really isn't much room to stand without being in someone's way. I ordered the breakfast wrap but my two friends also ordered food that needed to be toasted and it took too long. The wrap itself was good, but really small....look how big my cookie was next to the burrito! The second time I came back, I was pretty sick and asked for a hot water but treated my friend to a drink here. Got a really weird look when they asked me if I was really ordering a hot water...I would rather go somewhere else in the area for a sandwich or drink in the future.

Yelp
A cute local cafe where one can get a variety of different breakfast foods and drink. The green line cafe is across the street from clark park and can be easily accessed bt walking or trolley. This location is fairly small with limitted seating indoors, but also has a nice outdoor seating area as well. The food here is very good and options vary depending on the day and what they have available. Many of the food options are locally sourced and are typically a healthier(sounds healthier) and organic meal. Options for people of all food types can come here and get food. Vegetarian and vegan options can be found here as well as some very unique foods and drinks. I love coming here to get decent food, but am always left a little hungry afterwards. Definitely a good place to go to and eat breakfast at. Many people come here to do work and study so it can be very beneficial, but maybe limited seating!

Yelp
love to stop by here and get the lavender latte + breakfast burrito. it also has an optimal location right across from clark park which makes it ideal for going on a walk or sitting outside while drinking coffee.

Yelp
Loved this neighborhood gem! Coffee was tasty. Loved the ambiance. My type of coffee shop for sure.
google avatar

Katelin E.

Yelp
So, I love coffee shops. Few cool things about The Green Line: it's frequented by legit artists, bibliophiles, and poets - largely I imagine because this The Green Line doesn't have wifi. It's location is perfect: kiddy-corner to Clark Park, which makes it ideal for a coffee and a stroll. And I am a sucker for corner entrances - they're so welcoming! Yet, staff are not friendly nor unfriendly, the coffee is not great nor not great, the decor is pretty cool but not that cool, the food isn't bad but nothing to write home about. The Green Line is a staple and of course I'll go there when near Clark Park, but it's not a favorite. *this review is in regards to pre-COVID and intra-COVID times. I waver between 3 and 4 stars but this is COVID and everyone deserves to be thrown a bone.

Yelp
We popped into Green Line Cafe on Sunday for a quick iced coffee to go and, I have to say, that coffee was delicious! Smooth and flavorful; it was everything I wanted in an iced coffee! The baristas were so friendly and we were in and out quickly. I also noticed lots of good looking baked goods as well.
google avatar

Fabio V.

Yelp
I have only good things to say about this business. I have been living in the area for 13 years and I am a fan. It represents the West Philly cool spirit without the sloppiness of some neighboring businesses. The food is good, the waiters are nice and thought it the pandemic they have been a reference snd a showcase of professionalism.
google avatar

Kayla H.

Yelp
Attempted coming to this coffee shop this morning to get a cold drink after being a few weeks post-op from a major surgery and forgetting a bottle of water during a walk through Clark Park with my dog. I held my quiet, 15 pound dog in my arms so I could quickly get an iced tea as I have many times before at many other coffee shops in Philly, but I was immediately told that if he wasn't a service dog that I have to get out, even for the 2 minutes it'd take to pay and walk out with a drink. I mean I can even bring my dog into the pharmacy a few blocks away without any issue! I can overlook a guy shooting up in the bathroom for 30+ minutes during a previous visit here, but I can't overlook an employee being a jerk to me, so I'll be walking a little bit further in the future to go to Starbucks or the badass new Panera. I'm totally okay with not supporting this local business anymore.
google avatar

Ravi H.

Yelp
Ravi H I went there to get lunch that I ordered online and I was told they never received it and they don't even let you order when you are there and charged me for a sandwich I never got and I was told to take it up with my bank. It would be nice if the barista - Sandy Devito or Manager - Dan Thut showed greater appreciation for loyal customers.
google avatar

Ann S.

Yelp
Much like the review by Kayla below. I had a similar experience. I understand the dogs are not allowed in coffee shops and I have smaller dogs than she has. I usually start at the door of the coffee shop waiting for down time in the shop and give the person my money in exchange for a cup of coffee. I do this all over the city, tip for the service and I have never had a problem. That way dogs don't have to come in the shop, I get my coffee and they get their sale, no laws are broken. You should never leave your dogs tied up outside anywhere especially if they are small dogs because they are very vulnerable to theft and injury. It is an irresponsible dog owner who leaves their dogs tied up outside. New to the area for the past two mornings at an off time when it's not crowded, I showed up and ordered coffee today the woman came out and said that she couldn't do this every day because it disrupted the flow of her shop and she wouldn't sell me coffee like this after today. I took the money back and said thank you I will go somewhere else. Which I did. A block away is a store called milk and Honey they were very happy to sell me a cup of coffee from the doorway and said come back anytime. There is a horticultural bump out on the street in front of the greenline shop that is open to anyone to sit in. I intended to sit there from the beginning And went back and had my coffee from another vendor. It's really very unfortunate because it sounds like they're losing customers from dog owners and walkers.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Just stopped in to get some Weckerly's sorbet & ice cream since they were not at the local farmer's market today. Was highly disappointed and insulted at the poor customer service I received at the counter by clearly a low paid and classless cashier. It's one thing to purchase some items and request a bag and the items not to be placed in the bag, but it's another to receive an annoying look when asking for a bag and it lightly being tossed on the counter and givien a side remark when asked, "Do you not put items (more than one or 2) in a bag?" Reply, "No"... Question, "Will I ever return to this place?" Answer, "Sure, half past NEVER". The sure fire way to lose customers, rude and dismissive staff.

Colby B.

Yelp
This coffee shop/cafe was very nice. The staff was extremely kind & helpful to me as a tourist who had questions about the city. The food was good & came out quick. I would definitely recommend this establishment for anyone looking for a quick bite to eat or a coffee.

Jaylee R.

Yelp
We got our food super quick and all of the staff was kind! We had a few questions about things and they answered explaining everything we needed to know in detail! also has a great environment! highly recommend!
google avatar

Alyssa A.

Yelp
This is a cute little coffee shop basically across from Clark park. It has a nice front area where you can sit outside and get work done. As far as the iced coffee; not super strong . The breakfast burritos are ok but they're premade and tiny. I also agree with the comments regarding some of the staff's attitude towards customers. Definitely not the warmest vibe which is honestly too bad because the place has potential!
google avatar

Vivian C.

Yelp
I love this cute little cafe! The atmosphere is laid back and the baristas are really friendly -- reminds me so much of Madison!! Food-wise, this establishment is vegan friendly. I tried the sweet potato burrito and it's super yummy! Soy latte is also done well!! Prices are also reasonable: the giant burrito and a large soy latte costs only 9ish. Wish I could come here everyday -- too bad I'm only visiting Philly:(
google avatar

Tran H.

Yelp
Very nice place. The staff are friendly. I love the sweet potato burrito. It was delicous and fresh!
google avatar

Yelp
I really like this coffee shop and has good cold brew this is a haiku about you. Just kidding actually this isn't a qualified haiku but they have good cold brew

Yelp
Green Line Cafe is a cozy neighborhood coffee shop, but with only mediocre offerings. I came here for a quick breakfast pick-me-up before work. Unfortunately, none of the food options looked particularly fresh or appealing. So I settled for just a cappuccino - which was good but not particularly remarkable. If you live close and want a nice relaxing place to sit and work or read, Green Line is a fine option. But if you're looking for great food and drink, you might have a better shot elsewhere.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
This is a decent place to chill on weekday mornings when it's not crowded; however, I'd probably go to other coffee shops instead due to their customer service. The lady at the counter who took my order didn't seem particularly glad to be there. She wasn't friendly or warm at all. Afterward, I asked if wifi was available to which they replied that the current location did not have wifi which was a downer as I was looking to get some work done but not a complete dealbreaker. Later, I heard the workers saying things along the line of "just talk to one another" and "wifi is not a universal right." This ruined my experience as they seemed irritated that I had asked for the availability of wifi (which the majority of coffee shops/cafes offer). As for the order itself, I ordered a vanilla latte which was decent but unremarkable and a bagel which was satisfying enough. This cafe is alright but honestly, I would rather go elsewhere in the future.
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
Good for fudge Brownie, parfait & root beer! Little shop, set up was typical cafe style, with food snacks (sandwiches, croissants, brownies) behind glass. Omg their fudge brownies are frigging awesome! It's open until at least 8:15 on Friday night. Staff is small (2 ppl seen behind counter), but there was no line so it was no big deal.
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
I've stopped in here quite a few times. It's small, quaint and by the look of the crowds on warm days, seems popular with the neighborhood. However, every drink I've gotten here has been mediocre. It's a shame since it's so close to work.
google avatar

Cassie A.

Yelp
The coffee is not good and the bacon egg and cheese is even worse!! No flavor. Barely any bacon or cheese, just this weird fake egg stuff. Will not be back.
google avatar

Jocelyn T.

Yelp
Great location, nice vibe, hot chocolate is good! Total hipster hangout but if that doesn't bother you, great coffee joint!

Chris C.

Yelp
The Green Line Cafe has switched to take out only during the Coronavirus outbreak. You can call your order in and pick it up. Their number is 215-469-3223. They are doing right by their staff with paid sick leave. They are taking sensible precautions to avoid the spread of the virus. Go support your favorite neighborhood coffee shop.

Yelp
Small bite: Chill and inviting. Nice neighborhood nook. Came to Philly to visit the brother. He was still getting ready, so I popped by this spot to get a cappuccino. I'm not ordinarily a cappuccino person (I generally stay pretty simple with coffee), but decided to start my trip with a treat. The space inside is relaxed and unassuming. The shop has a very large clock above the counter. Maybe it's a statement on the inexorable march of time, and how we need to all take time to enjoy life with a relaxing cup of coffee, because death is inevitable? Or maybe it's just because the space was empty and they needed to put something there. A customer in front of me asked if the house-made cookie has coconuts. The clerk went into the back to check. She came back and said no. Big props to her for taking the time to look! But that may be information the shop wants to have behind the counter. Nothing hurts business more than having a customer get a terrible food allergy from your food. The cappuccino was lovely. Nothing adventurous, but I wasn't looking for a beverage concocted by a mythological beast, so it worked for my purposes. I appreciated the outdoor seating. Watching the cars and SEPTA trolleys trundle on by, I felt as if I had come across a miniature green oasis, a vantage point to watch a parade of mechanized behemoths pass by. The brother finished his shower and came to get me, and we headed to explore the city.

Yelp
I spent nearly the entire day at the Green Line Cafe the other day helping hang my wife's artwork and I fell in love with this place. 1. It has great artwork there (not just my wife's) 2. The coffee is great 3. The food is great (Turkey cheddar on a croissant...mmmm) 4. The music choice is good 5. The people there are simply good people 6. Everyone that works there is EXTREMELY nice 7. The owners are great people My wife and I will be going to The Green Line Cafe long after her work comes off the walls (can't wait to see who's art will go up next). This is a great coffee shop and cafe and I recommend them highly.
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Need to take this one down just a notch. It doesn't have anything to do with The Green Line being bad (far from it). It's just that before The larger Green Line that hooks up live music opened up on Locust, this was the one to go to. But now it's pretty much second banana. But being second banana isn't necessarily a bad thing, and this Green Line shows it nicely. It still has the same cool staff, great variety of food, and well rounded selection of drinks. Of course the fact that it's across the street from Clark Park never hurts either! And even though it isn't without it's flaws (the long line during the weekend rush can be killer, it runs out of things like bagels too quickly on most days, etc.) It's still a coffeehouse that McThrill has a soft spot for. And I'm not just saying that because I'm 5 blocks away.
google avatar

Nataly N.

Yelp
I'm not a huge fan of their bitter and watery coffee. While I appreciate that Green Line tries to appeal to a community that leans toward organic options, what is the point of that when a coffee shop doesn't get their coffee right? On the other hand, their tea and their pumpkin spice latte (offered in the fall/winter) are pretty good. Their croissants are also good, especially if you get them early in the morning, when they've been freshly delivered. As for their sandwiches, I'd stay clear out of the way. I've had their sandwiches and burritos. They are barely edible and over-priced for packaged food. For a quick bite, I'd walk down two blocks to grab a freshly-made sandwich at Milk & Honey. This location has shaded outdoor seating in the summer, overlooking Clark Park and the Farmer's market - a great place to hang out on a nice day. However, it does not have wifi and can get a bit cramped when a lot of people come in. I would prefer their 45th and Locust location as a place to study. Service here is all right. It might be worth noting that they only accept cash.

Janille D.

Yelp
I used to stop by this cafe on my walks in to work sometimes (back when morning traffic didn't matter and work was a 15 min skip and hop around the corner). I was happy to see that not much as changed since those times. Green Line cafe sits on a corner of Baltimore Avenue, across the street from Clark Park. Indoor seating is hit or miss depending on the time of day. There is plenty of outdoor seating with views of Clark Park or the surrounding West Philly neighborhood. They have a nice vegan and non vegan selection of snacks, and the best iced chai tea! Staff is always very friendly and their prices are very reasonable. Stay amazing, Green Line!
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
No wifi, bad service, and tricky menu. Food: cheese egg and bacon muffin. Terrible. The muffin was whole wheat and more like a panini than a muffin. The bacon, WAS NOT BACON! It was some tofurkey crap imitation. The shop puts a star next to their gluten free and vegan options, why not warn the omnivores that the meat their ordering is not real meat?? I'm all for experimentation and new takes on old things, just give me a little warning before I order. Wifi: It's a coffee shop with 3/4 of their patrons sitting at tables on their laptops and the barista informs me there's no wifi. I would not even have come if I knew that. I guess, I should have asked before I ordered. Service: When I did order my egg and bacon muffin, I was told it would be about 5 minutes. So, I took my coffee and sat outside. No one brought out my sandwich, no one even informed me it was ready. After ten minutes I walked back in to inquire and it was just sitting on the counter. By the time I bit in, the sandwich was lukewarm at best. Closest coffee shop in my neighborhood and I'm never coming back
google avatar

Marc G.

Yelp
Coffee was fine. All the hot breakfasts are precooked and weren't very tasty. The place was crowded so maybe that's fine with some folks.
google avatar

Jon S.

Yelp
I liked the space and my breakfast burrito was pretty tasty, but this place doesn't have wifi. All cafes need to have wifi. For me I was especially bitter because I already ordered and paid for my coffee and breakfast before asking. (all other Green Lines do have wifi) tldr: don't have wifi
google avatar

Herbie H.

Yelp
I have such love for all the Green Line Cafe locations. But, this location & the one at 45th and Locust are my two favorites. This location is conveniently located on the 34 Trolley line, and set at the beautiful intersection of 43rd street & Baltimore Avenue - with a lovely parklet outside in the nice-weather-months. My go-to order is a multigrain bagel (obsessed with this bagel, have had it many many many times) with cream cheese and a hot/iced coffee (depending on temperature.) The staff is charming, helpful, and all around wonderful. If I could give 10 stars, I would. #fanboy Only hiccup with this location is that it does not have WiFi, so it's best to do your internet-based work at the Locust location. Green Line forever!
google avatar

Andrea R.

Yelp
I've been to The Green Line four times, because my friend lives in the neighbourhood. I LOVE their coffee! I haven't found a place in Philly that compares to The Green Line! It's smooth, perfectly brewed, and delicious. The staff is always lovely, too. I can't speak to anything other than their coffee, but that enough should entice you to visit!
google avatar

Cybele Z.

Yelp
Ordered iced mocha which was watery with too much ice! Didn't have much taste to it. Ended up spending $5 on basically water ad ice!
google avatar

Marnee K.

Yelp
Tried a hot milk steamer with gingerbread syrup today. The flavor and foam were good, but one of the words I value in such a beverage is "hot" and this was lukewarm at best. I had previously written a review about the gross iced chai latte I had here but yelp seems to have erased it. Suffice it to say, I have not been impressed with this establishment's beverages.

Yelp
Great spot to grab coffee when it's nice out - right by the park and always interesting stuff going on. Sometimes music groups assemble on the corner and play

I've heard a lot about this place, so I'm excited that I finally got to try it. It's a cute little coffee shop a little ways off of the main Penn campus area. The area isn't so great, but the coffee shop is small-ish and intimate so it's a great environment for a low-key study session with some good coffee. I got the Iced Mocha with skim milk (I'm the only one who orders iced coffee in the 20 degree weather but I can't help myself). It was a pretty good drink, although I do wish it was a bit more chocolatey and sugary. I added extra sugar and the drink was pretty good, although I will say that $4 for the drink was a bit too expensive. I probably will come back to do work if I feel like making the trek and to snack on something/get a drink. Their assortment of baked goods looked delicious so I'll definitely want to try them in the future.

Yelp
This cafe was really truly great! I really enjoyed the vibe of the place and it was on the perfect corner. The coffee not only tasted great but was the perfect amount of caffeine for my morning! My friend who does not drink coffee that much also enjoyed it, we found it to be very queer friendly as well which is always appreciated.
