"Green Soul used to be just a little all-day cafe in the suburbs, but when it moved to the city, it opened in a huge space in Spring Garden with a full bar. Now, they do their take on “healthy comfort food,” which means that, besides tricking you into thinking things like tacos and BBQ pulled chicken sandwiches are healthy, they also have a bunch of actually healthy things. Our favorites are the turkey jambalaya and the cajun salmon BLT. As an added bonus, they have live jazz shows that take place almost every night." - Sydney McElwee

"Robert and Benjamin Bymun, the brothers behind South, Warmdaddy’s, Relish, and Green Soul (and the closed Zanzibar Blue) are taking over the recently shuttered Alla Spina to open a second Green Soul. The new restaurant, at 1410 Mt. Vernon Street right next to South, will offer lighter takes on Southern dishes and live entertainment." - Rachel Vigoda

Great atmosphere and hip early friendly vibe. Really appreciate the mission driven philosophy and quality ingredients. Dishes are family style to your table as they are ready, so expect your meals and dishes to come separately. Everything we had looked amazing yet somehow left us expecting it to be just a little warmer, a little crisper or a little more flavor. Maybe just an off day. Still, a terrific find and worth the trip.

I’ve been a fan of this place since it was on Ogontz Ave before the Chestnut Hill location. I came to the new location recently for a group happy hour and had a great time! My friend raved about the sweet potato and black eyed pea soup. I tried the salmon and chicken tacos, both were good but the chicken was amazing with a sweet & savory bbq sauce. Several people in our party ordered the Brussel sprouts with turkey bacon and loved them! The impossible burger was also a crowd favorite. The happy hour specials were great! I tried the Riesling and apple cinnamon sangria which was light & refreshing. There was live music that evening also which was a nice treat! This place is great for vegan/vegetarian food but will completely satisfy meat eaters also.

We love going to new restaurants. Loved the "healthy" concept of the restaurant. The food was DELICIOUS and worth the visit. We had the jumbalya, shrimp tempura and chicken "soul" tacos. I would suggest larger portions because we left and had to eat again. Drinks were rather WEAK! With all that said, we're DEFINITELY going back!

This little neighborhood gem features a healthier soul food menu without sacrificing taste. In addition to the food, they have a wonderful specialty cocktail selection and a great staff to serve you with that southern charm. The restaurant is next to South, another venue by the same restaurant group, that serves more traditional soul food and live music. Together you can get anything you want. I highly recommend the sweet potato donuts- they taste way more like donuts than sweet potatoes!

Love this place. Today was my first time but It won't be my last. The mango jerk salmon was delicious!!! The smoothie options are good too. 😋 The indoor seating was nice and their is outdoor space too. They also have a kids play section. I love that this place is kid and family friendly.

This was my first time at the restaurant and I loved it will definitely be returning. The tacos, fantastic buffalo cauliflower, jerk salmon and shrimp tacos. This was the best one I've been too so far.

Green Soul was a nice experience . The mood is based on band playing some Soulful Jazz or just a quiet night with intimate conversation with friends . Food and drinks are good and prices reasonable . I would definitely recommend . Sweet potato donuts were great for dessert .😊

Wish I could give green soul 10 stars! Was visiting Philly and had a college reunion here. Incredibly courteous and accommodating staff. Cuisine was amazing! Never knew healthy can be so delicious! The vibe and experience is truly one of a kind. Bravo to the Bynum group!
