We stopped in for a quick weekday lunch while shopping on Abbot Kinney. They offer full service at the bar seating or you can order at the counter and they’ll bring your food to the table of your choice. It was easy and during the week, there was plenty of seating. We opted to sit at the bar and were waited on right away. The food came out quickly and our meals were great. They seemed to use fresh ingredients and everything we tried had flavor. I definitely recommend this spot if you want a better atmosphere and dining experience than a counter service spot but you still want the same quick, in-and-out offering.

Greenleef in Venice is a great plant-based spot right in the heart of Los Angeles. I really enjoyed their roasted kidney bean salad — fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The staff were super friendly and gave great advice on sides that made the meal even better. The vibe here in Los Angeles is laid-back and modern, perfect for a healthy lunch or a casual dinner. Service was quick and attentive from start to finish

We always eat here when we visit Abbot Kinney/Venice Beach. I usually get the smashed avocado with some added lox on top and their turmeric drink which is sooo good. This last time we ate here, we brought our little dog and they grilled some plain chicken for him. There's a breezy cozy indoor-outdoor feeling throughout the establishment with bar seating inside and really lovely shaded back and side area seating, my favorite. The restrooms need a code. Enjoy the laid back and tasty atmosphere.

I was excited to try this food as it was one of the healthier options. However the chicken was dry, the fries weren't seasoned well and the seasonal veggies needed much more flavor and salt. There were no sauce options for the fries that I was aware of and I'm someone who rarely wastes food but I did this time. The workers were nice and I appreciated the calories being listed on the menu, but the food needs improvements! Just some salt packets being available would've helped haha.

Google
Casual cafe with healthy options. They have a nice heated patio that’s good for studying or for hanging out with people. You order at the counter first and then they’ll bring your food out. Credit cards accepted. Street parking. They do serve alcohol. Restrooms available outside in the right hand side of the exit. The tumeric latte was well made and I liked that the ketchup they had for the fries was sugar-free.

Stopped by Greenleaf Kitchen and Cocktails recently. The food looked fresh, but it’s definitely more of a casual spot — nothing that felt upscale or particularly special. You place your order at the counter, and they bring it out to your table, which works fine for the style of the place. Service was okay, nothing standout. The food was decent, but it left room for improvement. Overall, it’s just an average place to grab a bite. Not bad, but not something I’d go out of my way for. Good for a quick, healthy-ish meal if you're nearby.

I went to Abbot Kinney in Venice with my dog, and found the patio to have lunch without a wait. There's an outside patio on the side and back of the building. The taste of the food was all pretty nice. I loved the avocado toast because cucumbers were added for freshness. La La Bowl with shrimp was also tasty. My only complaint is that the La La Bowl portion was quite small for the price. 11 tiny shrimps cost $5 extra. I took a photo up close but the plate itself was pretty small.

Google
Came here for a late brunch, turn lunch and could not decide what to get off the menu because everything looked so good. We ordered at the counter, received our number, and headed to the outdoor seating area to find a table without a problem as there is tons of seating options. The outdoor area is dog friendly! Overall the food was great, and portions very fair. I loved my salad- it was perfect for a hot summer day. My mom also loved her bowl- it was definitely heartier than the salad. Would definitely come back to try other things on the menu. Considering it’s a rather popular restaurant on Abbott Kinney, the prices are very fair, and drinks were also delicious. Definitely give this place a try if you’re in the area!

Yelp
i wish i could give this spot zero stars if i could. had an absolutely horrific experience in every aspect. came here around 2pm on saturday november 16, 2024. it took almost an hour to prepare my burger and garlic fries - that in itself should be extremely alarming. customer service was one of the worst experiences i've ever had. i asked multiple times about the status of my order, no luck. i ended up changing my order to take out because i couldn't afford to wait anymore.i complained to the cashier at the front who told me this was "the busiest day he's ever seen" - super invalid and pathetic excuse. i asked someone else about my order, still no luck. i complained again and someone told me the manager is refunding my whole meal and finally my order was ready. i asked someone else if i could have a receipt for the refund. this is where my experience gets even worse. he told me they delete all their receipts and have no records to print out - i find this hard to believe. then i asked him how i can confirm my refund is complete. he told me i should check my bank statements if i think he's lying to me. i told him i wasn't accusing him of being a liar. ultimately i got my food, got my refund, and left. i'm super understanding of restaurants being understaffed. i can let a lot slide, but customer service, attitude, and lack of care are core values. this goes without saying, but i will absolutely never come back to this location. i'm appalled by my experience and this needs upper level management attention ASAP.

Yelp
"A" for ambiance and design "B" for service "C" for food I really wanted to like this place. I loved the decor and the space, and especially the spacious patio. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? It was one of the new dishes for fall: The kimchi mahi mahi bowl. Healthy fish and spicy/ sour veggies..... how could they go wrong? Somehow, Greenleaf managed! The fish was tough, and completely flavorless. It would have been so easy to marinade it in soy, lime juice, and sugar to add a touch of sweet and sour, which would have been a great counterpoint to the spicy veggies. But it was so bland. And then the vegetables: They were such an odd combination. On their own, the Brussels sprouts were okay (though nothing special), but paired with super spicy kimchi? Uh, no. It just didn't work. And the cucumber and red cabbage were fine, but didn't elevate the dish, or add any interesting flavors or textures. And then there was the service: Our food was brought out noticeably later than others who had arrived after us. And the staff seemed harried and distracted. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'm sure I'd give this place another chance. Maybe other dishes are better, and this was a rare odd exception. But as someone out of the area, I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Yelp
I ordered via my work's group order! I got the Turkey melt on a pretzel roll and it was AMAZING!! Smoked Gouda melted with caramelized onions paired with the turkey and arugula is so good. I got it without the mustard as I don't like. Would definitely recommend this! Ambiance is N/A as it was to go. Also brought my own chips they do not come with

Yelp
I came here with my friends for a pre-wedding/going away brunch for our friend. This location is such a hip, happening part of Venice. It's surrounded by cute shops and other brunchy-type places. I can't even tell you what an amazing day we had. The staff went above and beyond to make our group feel welcome. The drinks kept flowing, the food was so delicious and fresh, there was a tequila tasting bar set up, then when the DJ started..... the effects of the drinks went into full effect. There's plenty of parking in public lots within a short walking distance. There was a great seating area that made it more like a garden party-type atmosphere. I highly recommend this place!!

Yelp
Great spot to stop in and get a bite while out on Abbott Kinney in Venice. My wife and I were walking around Abbott Kinney it's starting to get a little hungry when we ran into Greenleaf. Have a pretty wide selection for any type of hunger level, or item you were craving. They had some interesting looking burgers and sandwiches, some healthy style bowls, or salads, along with other little munchies. They also have a pretty spacious restaurant layout for this area, which is usually a little bit more compact. My favorite part was sitting on the back patio. You got a little bit of sun, they've got some really cool, greenery vibes, and it was pretty quiet. They also have a ramp that leads to the back, which is only interesting to parents who might be strolling babies, or toddlers around, which we were. The food is great, the staff was very helpful in helping us make our selection, and bring the food to our table, and the lemonade was delicious. I'll leave my food pics below, but would definitely recommend getting this place a try.

Yelp
Yummy spot - I always get the tacos when I'm here. It's so conveniently located on the main street in venice and surrounded by other fun bars, restaurants and shops. It has a quick service restaurant vibe but is sit down with service, and there's a ton of seating in the back surprisingly.

Yelp
Good food, clean ingredients, and solid portions that fill you up without making you feel gross. Service was very friendly and attentive although the food and drinks did take a little longer to come out. Both matcha and golden milk lattes were fabulous, would return just for those. Lovely outdoor patio space for brunch.

Yelp
### 2023 review 36/100 ### *** Update as of Sat. Sept. 16th 2023: Bumping up from 2 to 3 star Yelp rating, pending resolution on this issue. Regional Manager Christopher G. reached out via DM and will be following up to fix this old -to- new program issue. He also mentioned that the Greenleaf teams "have been coached to handle this kind of issue moving forward." Here's more details, if inquiring minds want to know... "maths conversion" from old-new program makes ZERO sense.... In the previous rewards program, you needed to spend $100 to earn a $5 reward. So, $31 rewards balance == equivalent to == $620 spent In the new reward program, you earn 10 Points for every $1 you spend Therefore, converting to new program, $620 spent SHOULD be 6,200 points ***equivalent*** that can fairly be used to redeem on the new program for example, 3x sandwiches! As you can figure out by now, "310 points that was converted from $31" is nowhere close enough to even redeem a plain bagel & cream cheese ($5.95 cost) that requires 1,000 points to redeem. *** original review posted Fri. Sept. 8th 2023 *** I enjoy the food here but.... apparently Rewards program was automatically mover from the old Paytronix (problematic system) over to the new Thanx recently -- I only found out when I opened my app. And they basically "converted" my $31 GIFT CARD balance to a measly 310 points (how is $31 equivalent to 310 points -- is it scam maths???). I contacted support and got some runaround canned answer... so I'm asking to escalate this issue. Doesn't hurt to ask is my motto. Writing up this review while waiting for my pickup order. I had to wait 'coz I cannot redeem a reward in person when I arrived 30 mins ago. I had to order on the app. Ugh. Not a happy camper here, on top of being "scammed" by the new app conversion. The manager on duty today, Oscar even told me that he's been getting LOTS of customer complaints about this new app conversion and apparently HQ won't even let him "fix it" in house, for instance in my case, just get a $31 credit on the house for my next order. Sigh. Would Greenleaf fix it? Maybe or maybe not. Not holding my breath. Cashier couldn't be unfriendlier... would be nice if she would crack a smile? That would go a long way to "match" the sunshine vibes on Abbott Kinney.

Yelp
This is a nice casual dining option on Abbot Kinney, which actually doesn't have a ton of food options if you want a meal (lots of shops though!) We got in the area around 7pm and were hungry and came here. The sandwiches and salads met our expectations, so unsure why the 3.6 rating. It was all good with us, and reasonably priced. $14.50' for the salad, $13.00 for the panini. For the Venice area, doesn't seem bad at all.

Yelp
Get the vegan taco - the one with cauliflower!! It is the most flavorful taco! If there is anything to order here it is this! Besides that I loved the chicken tortilla soup - simple yet so good. I love the seating in the outdoor patio! Lots of bright light m while being in a covered space.

Yelp
1 star for the sun and outdoor area ! one star for the guy at the front ( Monday 04/08 ) who tried to be sweet and helpful ! thats it . I got my latte super cold , received the sweet potatoes fries which left a bad taste as it was Super cold and soft ! i asked the same person to replace it as i couldnt really bare spending 30$ having everything cold when i just decided to have some time alone eating and working ! which clearly got ruined . And he apologized politely , they warmed them up and replaced the burger ! and brought it to me quick tho . At least ! so one more star for that ! this place is clearly a quick coffee place ... Dont bother for food !

Yelp
Such yummy healthy options for dinner! Most everything was gluten free which makes eating here with celiacs super easy!

Yelp
Slow service. Over charged for cocktail during happy hour and they Refused to refund the difference. Food was good. Patio is great

Yelp
Came here for a work event. I called ahead and let them know there was a big party coming! They had a small staff but so helpful! Cashier was fast and organized very informative, Bartenders were so nice. I ordered the Chimichuri steak, rare. The steak was 7/10 lacking some of that juicy butter flavor from cooking it yourself. However! the Chimichuri topping, avocado and tomatoes added to the flavors and made up for it!

Yelp
The main appeal of this spot is the large patio, perfect for dogs although dogs aren't allowed on all areas on the patio. Food is pretty good - tried the burrata, garlic fries, and the pesto chicken sandwich, but it's expensive for what you get. The best thing we tried were the garlic fries, which were very crispy - a surprise since they were baked, not fried. The chicken in the sandwich was a bit dry and could've been fixed with extra sauce, which also would've added flavor, since some of the bites were a bit bland.

Yelp
Thank you for your response and concern. I understand it was a mistake and hope to have a different experience next time. I have the app and am open to dining with you again in the future.

Matthew J.

Yelp
Wow, what a frustrating experience. I thought I was going to have an enjoyable and prompt experience on a busy day. I was the first in line before a busy time hit. I was waiting for 45 minutes for a very basic breakfast burrito. I was at the bar so there were several attendants around, no one checking on me. I had to check in twice to get my food. I was offered another drink for waiting which was nice, but the meal I got ended up being rushed. And small, and I would have expected more. At when I finally finished my food I was asked to move my seat to make space for someone else. So I ended up having to down my drink in my elongated meal, wasting my time. I doubt that I will come here again now. A shame since I came out of my way to come here today

Yelp
Awesome location on Abbot Kinney near all the Venice boutique shops. We sat outside and enjoyed some fresh air (there are two patio options and an indoor option). The pretzel Turkey sandwich was yummy (although you need to be a fan of Gouda cheese or this sandwich is not for you). The servers at Greenleaf Kitchen were fast to bring the food out. We didn't try any cocktails at the bar but perhaps that's in the second trip!

Yelp
I can definitely say I consistently enjoy Greenleaf as their food is always good and the service is always top notch as well. No matter who I deal with, they're always so nice and friendly and the ambiance there is really good. I love the outdoor seating. I will prepare you that parking in that area can be difficult so definitely pack your patience. But I find the food good enough where I'll drive all the way down to Venice to get it and that's not down the street for me lol. If you're in the area 100% I would check them out. The food and the drinks are really good.
google avatar

Laura H.

Yelp
This place is very hit or miss. I've gotten the lalabowl and have enjoyed however when I ordered the turkey melt they rushed my order and the chef left the paper on the cheese! Very disappointing.
google avatar

Kerry K.

Yelp
Greenleaf is just OK. I tried it for the first time this past weekend. I had the lemongrass chicken salad. I don't know why they called it that because there was absolutely zero lemongrass in it. I thought the chicken would be grilled with lemongrass but it was just chunks of chicken. I do like that they have a huge patio and I was able to eat my to go order in their shaded seating with my pup. I probably won't come back for the food though since it was mediocre.
google avatar

Brandi J.

Yelp
Rode our bikes to this restaurant from the Venice bike path. There are three different options for seating: marble bar with bright natural light, indoor table that are separate from bar area and outdoor seating. Two restrooms that are unisex. There is a walk up counter for ordering of food or sit at the bar and be served. I had a The Zorro salad and a glass of rose. The vegan cheese, artichoke hearts, olives were a lovely combination. In the future I might ask for the dressing on the side and garbanzo beans for extra fiber. I found it hard to find vegan food that was actually vegetable based and not deep fried. This restaurant had a few nice options.

Yelp
Visited this place for the first time today for lunch. Order the chop chop salad and it was fresh and very tasty. Good portion too. The server was also friendly. Will go back here again.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the chop chop salad. The dressing was non-existent. Do not recommend - I was stoked for a killer salad and this was trash.

Bridg B.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and love this spot. Stopped in 2 weekends in a row for a quick lunch and enjoyed myself. Food is great, atmosphere is also great. The DJ outside was awesome! Super nice and played awesome music. I believe his name is Jason. Overall 10/10 and will be back

Yelp
good burger. but the cost of fries for the portion and quality is not. overpriced. same for brussel sprout caesar. not a good value for cost

Yelp
We were hungry for some food in the late afternoon and originally wanted to go to the Butchers Daughter but it was way too crowded for my comfort. I got a turkey pretzel sandwich and it hit the spot especially with the addition of sweet potato fries. I have to say, I didn't quite like the turmeric latte because the oat milk made it taste too watery. My friend got a tonic but she said that the orange juice was too overpowering and she couldn't taste any of the other ingredients. As for the guacamole and the chicken fajita salad she got, both were very tasty and came out almost immediately after we sat down so we were really glad for the quick service because we were so hungry.

Yelp
5 stars for Greenleaf. Was in town for a few days and my friend and I wanted something simple and healthy for dinner. Despite living nearby, she had never heard of this place, so we were happy to give it a try. We walked in on a Monday night and it wasn't busy at all. Just a few small groups at the bar and a Dallas Cowboys football game on the TV screen. I ordered the Turkey Melt on Pretzel Roll with sweet potato fries and my friend ordered a Build Your Own Salad with salmon. The Turkey melt was everything!!! It was a bit small, but packed with meat. All ingredients paired so well together, truly a great sandwich. Very disappointed on the sweet potato fries. Don't even waste your time or money. I literally only ate a few and was mad I ordered them, definitely not worth the extra $5. My friend was impressed with her salad as well, and the daiquiri was made to perfection with the perfect amount of alcohol. This is definitely added to my list next time I'm in town, and with my friend living nearby, I imagine she'll be back also!
google avatar

Tazae O.

Yelp
This place is wonderful. I have no complaints whatsoever so ever. I used to work down the street and I feel as though this was truly one of the only places to get a semi-affordable meal in the area. The quality is always good, and the staff is super friendly. If you plan to come here for brunch, definitely check if they offer reservations as this place seems to get packed weekends, sunny days and summer. I think the menu is seasonal, so it's cool to come back and always see something new. The ambiance is great. Nothing crazy spectacular but it definitely fits in with the "newer" Venice vibe if you know what I mean lol. Anyway I could rave all day but I really think you should check them out for yourself.

Larry S.

Yelp
Nice selection of tasty, healthy food combined with good beer, wine and cocktails. And the specialty cocktails are unique. Now combine this with the knowledge and affability of Mathew and you have your go to place to refuel and relax.
google avatar

Kate A.

Yelp
Stopped in after landing in LA and saw this cool location and needed something to tie us over until lunch. This is a very large location with multiple seating areas. I ordered the caprese sandwich and paired with a cold pressed juice. The sandwich was tasty but be prepared for some price- it was over 30 dollars for a juice and sandwich. They also only had 1 restroom which would cause some bottlenecks when trying to use the restroom. All in all the place was nice and food good.
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. The employees are nice and I only stop by here especially if it's during happy hour after 3 PM. I enjoyed to Tacos for only five dollars per happy hour. Definitely get this place I tried. Your outdoor patio it's nice!!
google avatar

Tristan N.

Yelp
A very filling salad because of the good amount of ground turkey, and the dressing was delicious. Without dressing, I'd give this a 3 star review. I was disappointed by the 1/5 portion of added avocado that cost $2 extra.
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
You know it's good when I go twice in one weekend! Came here for breakfast with a friend on Saturday and Monday during Labor Day weekend! I like how easy they make ordering and there's always ample seating. Both times I came for brunch and I love trying their different breakfast items. The California Benedict was really unique if you're looking for breakfast but not as heavy. Will be back!

Sophia L.

Yelp
Worst quality food for a "healthy" spot. Was scared to eat the Chicken in my salad -looked and tasted wrong

A R.

Yelp
Ambiance was cute, the place seemed clean. However we ordered 2 drinks, one hot and one cold; both were made iced. We never went got the drinks had to go inside and find them. Our food came first which was ok, it was supposed to have some aioli sauce but I never tasted any, just a kale wrap without sauce I guess. Also my drink I asked for 1/2 the sweetener and I couldn't taste anything. So I wouldn't recommend this place. Overpriced and poor service/poor quality drinks.
google avatar

Richie D.

Yelp
I've been a few times during covid and they have a nice outdoor patio with a DJ on Sundays! Can't go wrong with their salads, and cocktails! A cocktail or a bottle of wine, it's a nice atmosphere to experience. Pet friendly, and staff is very friendly!
google avatar

Grace W.

Yelp
Food was pretty average -- granted, I recognize the experience may be different doordashed vs. dining in. I got the harvest bowl - no dressing or cheese. The portion size was good though -- it's a healthy light lunch to have. Not bad at all-- the food is typical and what you'd expect it to taste like

Yelp
One of the best stops in MdR/Venice for daytime bites, healthy afternoon eats, affordable happy hour and delicious entrees. Pricing and service are top notch. Never change.
google avatar

Milena H.

Yelp
First time at Greenleaf and was a little disappointed with the food. The people were nice but the portion sizes were off. I ordered a side of avocado to be put on top of the salad. I was surprised this 1/4 avocado was $1.50. It looked so sad. The presentation was pretty but this large salad felt like a medium. Besides the food, they have a nice outdoor seating area!
google avatar

Stef K.

Yelp
This is my 2nd low review. We live right by Greenleaf so it's a very convenient option for us & we would go get takeout or eat here very often (including last night). I really do like the new manager - he seems great & has a good attitude & we had hopes of this place becoming better. It is completely impossible for them to get any order right. We always get the wrong thing, missing things etc. it's Tiering AF! We are officially breaking up w Greenleaf & I don't think they will make it in the long run. Very empty these days & their clients will just be people that are desperate for a reasonably priced meal, until they too have had enough w their phenomenal capabilities to not get anything right. Sad. Bye-bye.

Yelp
My experience trying to support this business so far has been painful. I used the app the first time, I work within 5 mins walk distance. The app gave me a 40 minute wait time and I respected it. They don't have it programmed to give updates when the food is ready or anything. I got my food and it was cold and burnt. And now that I think of it I had tons of trouble trying to use the app, it took me 5 attempts for the order to be processed. The second time I tried to order I figured I would try to walk in and order instead to see if it was better. Left my card at work and was just walking around with my iphone. Learned they don't take apple pay the hard way lol Is there a way to easily order and not have cold or burnt food? Any tips?

Kate K.

Yelp
An oasis of happiness on Abbot Kinney. Suuuper delicious food. Great place to chill out.

Shirley W.

Yelp
During a heat wave, there is no place that is safe. The outdoor patio, evening as close to the ocean as it could be, was still a bit toasty. The coffee was very yummy, and the staff was so kind and welcome. The quesadilla was so cheesy and delicious, once you start to get to the bacon bites in the center, it is a total game changer.
google avatar

Samantha T.

Yelp
I got the harvest bowl for take out dinner. I was looking for something healthy but filling and this was perfect. It was absolutely delicious! All the ingredients are so fresh and the dressing was delicious. I look forward to going back and trying other menu items.

Yelp
To Zach, Adrian, Jengo and Aaron .... Thank you guys so much for an amazing dinner. LOVED my extra, extra, EXTRA skinny strawberry margarita was amazing, Jengo ty ty and Zach offered the best menu item for vegetarians. Adrian was amazing as well. Aaron was also amazing too. - just loved the vibes, will definitely be back Blair you run a tight ship with your staff - they are amazing !! Thanks so much !!!!!

Yelp
Quick recap: - Food: Good - Portion size: Average - Service: Order at the counter; Nice staff - Environment: Nice fast casual - $: Average - Perks: Nice Patio (in the back of the restaurant) More details: We went there for dinner several times. All the salads and bowls were pretty good! (around $14-15 ish). The West Coast bowl ($14) was really good. The Build Your Own salad was average. Prices are in line with what would you expect from a fast casual place on Abbot Kinney. The staff is nice. The outdoors patio is really cool and has some heating lamps for the winter. Covid friendly they say ;) Overall? Good food. Nice Patio. Nice staff. Average to a bit high prices.
