This place is a gem! The people are nice, the booths are comfortable, and the menu is giant and fairly priced. So far everything we have tried is delicious. We came once for brunch and once for dinner. I loved the egg sandwich, and the Greek shishkabob plate. My kids love the chicken rice soup and the Oreo cream pie.

What a gem. I came here after a late night at little Local bars, and had a great time. The servers were very friendly. It was easy to navigate the space there was some graffiti into the bathroom mirror, so I was able to take a picture of that as well. The food scramble was enjoyable and the pancakes. I was so hung over for my previous engagement that I bought two pieces of pie, which I slightly regret I did not enjoy the dessert unfortunately. However, as for being able to be open and good service at a late night, I will be back. Thank you.

I was looking to kill some time between clients (I do housecleaning, the best!) so I googled burgers nearby and this establishment popped up. After seeing all the great reviews I had to check it out. I ordered a medium well burger, it came out well and didn't have any seasoning. Despite that it was still a decent burger, nicely sized and charboiled as well. The staff was friendly and provided great customer service, I appreciate how they didn't rush me out! What really made the experience great was the owner/manager. She was very attentive to the employees and her surroundings. She was very warm, welcoming, and pleasant. I felt like I was her friend or something lol. That was my first time going there but it won't be my last!

After a less than graceful entrance (by me), my friend and I went here for brunch before seeing a show. The atmosphere was so welcoming, we knew this was a gem of a restaurant. Our service was quick and friendly, our meals were delicious, and our only regret is that we didn't have time to stay longer or room for more food. Would highly reccommend, and when we come back to Chicago, will be going again.

My first time going there as I was coming in the hostess open the door for me when she saw me walking with a cane. After we sat down I asked for some decaf coffe she made a fresh pot for me. We ordered breakfast it came out quick and it was fantastic. Service was great food was great music was great, yes they played music mostly song from the 90 s . I will definitely go again.

Open 24 hours! I had the county skillet with pancakes. It was good. With all meats in the skillet it was salty. The pancakes were delicious. They have Pepsi products. They have a huge menu. My hubby wanted the hot meatloaf sandwich but they were out of meatloaf when we were there. Our service was quick and friendly. I need had to ask for a refill.

I revisited Griddle 24 for the second time, and it exceeded my expectations once again. Undoubtedly the finest breakfast spot in the area, the welcoming staff ensures top-notch service. The restaurant seamlessly blends old-school diner charm with a modern twist, making it a must-visit in the area. Without a doubt, they deserve more than a 5-star rating.

The Crazy Monkey was amazing!! The coffee was not so great. They also leave the front door open, which I'm guessing was how the flies got in. The staff are super friendly and attentive, and the menu has a large variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes to choose from. My husband was impressed with the four Reuben sandwich choices. We were glad that we tried this place because it's a close walk to my son's place.

This place is a legit diner! The place looks just like what you would expect of a diner. The servers are attentive and give you that warm feeling. I love it when they call me honey :-) Food wise, it is on point. Nothing fancy but it is all you would want when you walk into a diner. I've had the pastrami sandwich both at the restaurant and delivered - both were excellent. The chicken noodle soup is just like how your grandma would make it. The onion soup is also excellent. I highly recommend this place. What a little gem in this area

This is the place where you look back in 20 years and think "I had some good times". Every time I have been here it's after a late night of fun. Although it's always been packed, I never have to wait too long to be seated. The service is fast and there is anything you would want to eat on the menu. They have a huge variety. The food is good and the perfect pick me up after a night out.

Food - 5/5 The Tex Mex is okay, it fill with potato, egg and saugage. You actually paid what you get. 2222 breakfast came with (2) your choice of egg, (2) bacon, potatos. It's pretty good. Both of the meal above came with either bread or pan cakes. Service: 5/5 Great service! Our coffee cups are always full Ambiance: 4/5 Typical dinner environment. Price: 3/5 Pretty reasonable price for breakfast, under $50.

Food was great and the ambiance is lively. I ordered the turkey cob sandwich with sweet potato fries. This sandwich was really yummy with fresh tasting ingredients. I like their wide assortment of side choices. A little disappointed with the service. For starters, my entree also came with a soup, but it was forgotten. My table also felt rushed out the door. We weren't asked if we wanted or needed anything else and were just handed the check. Griddle is in a good spot with a large menu. Will definitely come back.

Every time I come back to Chicago, I come here to Griddle 24. We had the mozzarella sticks, corned beef hash & eggs, hash browns, and the chilaquiles rojos. The food all came out hot and as ordered, as I'd asked for the corned beef hash & the hash browns to be extra crispy. The food was good. Nothing extravagant, but good solid diner food! Our server Victor was incredible. He was very personable and always kept our drinks full. The ambiance is always nice; good music, nice lighting, and very clean. It was a little chilly inside, but that's ok. I'll definitely be back next time I come back to Chicago.

I am impressed every time I visit Griddle 24. This bustling corner diner is bright and cheerful. Big windows allow tons of natural light in. You can watch the action of the city day or early evening. The interior is colorful and clean. There are booths, tables and counter seating. The staff is incredible. Not only are they efficient, but friendly and helpful. Every server that has assisted me has always been a true professional with a big smile. The food is impressive. Everything is super fresh and prepared perfectly. Breakfasts, sweet and savory, look great and tastes fantastic. I've never had lunch but the menu is diverse. They even offer cocktails! Street parking is usually pretty easy. Since it is in the middle of the city, that's a pretty good bonus!

Ok , here's the scenario , your out partying with friends all night, bars closing , and your starving , where should you go , GRIDDLE 24 , that's where , Griddle 24 is a late night well lit oasis for the tired and hungry , like a finely tuned engine , this spot pumps out order after order of basically every breakfast craving you can envision , and to perfection , be it a perfectly done western omelette, blueberry pancakes or even a country style breakfast of biscuits and gravy Griddle 24 is the spot , , The place is kept clean , Service is quick and food hot and is prepared just as fast , And prices are reasonable , They're open 24 hours so whatever time you need a quick hunger fix , they will deliver the same consistent perfection every time , only negative thing I can say is late night , you may find yourself in a line outside , but it moves fast ! 5 stars

This diner and notice I said diner was disappointing. They have a large menu which should've been a red flag for me but I had the grandkids we just came from the slime museum and they were hungry. We settled on chicken wings as an appetizer they tasted like they had been taken out of the freezer microwaved, and then poured sauce all over them. They were not appetizing. We had cream of rice soup. It was thick, but bland. For our main course, we had a ribeye steak with a baked potato. The ribeye wasn't bad, but the baked potato had to be returned because it was rancid. The salmon was OK but it just didn't have enough seasoning. Service was OK but nothing really stood out in this place not the food not the ambience not the service. I so wanted to love this place. It's sort of like your typical diner for when you have nowhere else to go after a night out or it's considered hangover food whatever the case I won't be returning here.

Great menu. Friendly staff. I've eaten here a couple times and I'd gladly come back again. It has mostly local customers and it feels casual. I wanted a traditional Greasy spoon breakfast and I wasn't disappointed. Give it a shot.

Definitely thought this was giving greasy spoon vibes...but oh it's so much more! Giant menu, breakfast served all day, boozy milkshakes and amazing service! Place has the potential to get packed, I'm sure. We got there noon-ish on a Saturday after the Faces of Fitness festival a couple blocks down. Decent crowd for sure, but not overwhelming. We were seated right away and greeted by our server promptly. Best chilaquiles I have had in the city in years. Also, there was pie. So much pie. We will be back for the pie.

I'm sure open 24 hours they get their fair share of people ; however this place wasn't bad at all. Even got a bar, makes a better old fashion then most of theses nicer places. The breakfast looked hella good and the wings weren't bad I'll tell you that! Service was good and it's definitely a spot for breakfast.

Chicago has so many choices when you're - late night- hungry. A great place to grab something healthy (or not if that's what you want) is Griddle 24 Chicago. The servers are excellent and the food is amazing for what they offer. "Stella" (a wonderful woman who usually runs the operation) is keen to all details (even though you might not know it) she will make sure you're seated quickly and accordingly (REGARDLESS OF THE FRONT DOOR SECURITY) Hint: be polite and respectful and you will get that in return. The menu has a variety of great choices for even the most discerning taste's (ca mon man... it's a dinner! You will fall in love with the convenience of Griddle 24 almost instantly because their menu and their people are there to please you with great service and great food. I recommend Griddle 24 any time you need a late night break with healthy or fun food options.

Great diner in river north area serving great diner food 24/7 most of the week except Mondays and Tuesdays. My wife and I stopped in one day for breakfast. Ended up ordering Salmon Egg Benedict that came with a side order of fruit. Breakfast portion was generate for the price and I love that the fruit bowl included other fruit than mostly melons like other diners. They do serve some alcohol but I have seen full bar. The service is great. Servers help each other and we had coffee in our cups all time we were there

Ok, first off, I wanna say the wait staff here are so sweet and kind! They were sweethearts from start to finish! Ok, now the food... I haven't eaten more terrible food in Chicago. Hands down, the worst restaurant I've been in food-wise. I ordered the banana bread French toast and boy oh boy. What I got was four thick slices of old and burned black banana bread smothered in whipped cream. It truly just crumbled apart when I tried to take my first bite. It seemed like they had old and burned banana bread they needed to get rid of so they dunked it in eggs and called it French toast. I didn't eat it at all. My sister had the opened-faced avocado toast. It came in a sandwich with three teeny tiny slices of avocado. Was missing the cream cheese it was supposed to have on it so it was truly just a lot of dry bread with some salmon. She couldn't finish it. I did get a side of hashbrowns and bacon and while the hashbrowns were more like scalloped potatoes, they were fine. That being said, I dont ever send back food cause I don't like to hurt anyone's feelings but our waiter saw I didn't eat it and asked if I liked it. I told him it wasn't my favorite and he immediately took the price off the menu. He asked why I didn't tell him I didn't like it and when I told him I didn't want to be rude he told me never to pay for food I don't like. He was such a sweetheart! I wouldn't eat here again but I hope the wait staff get the tips they deserve. Don't forget to tip your waiters and waitresses!! They can't control the food!

Consistently exceptional service - fast, accurate, with a friendly and welcoming staff. The great music adds to the cozy atmosphere, making it feel like home. Truly nothing short of the best.

If you love diner food, great service, and overall great place, then come here! Cindy will greet you at the door with a smile, and help you get seated. I ended up with a Countryside skillet (no shrooms), with toast instead of "flapjacks" (love that word ). I got full when the plate arrived at my table because it looked so filling! They serve alcoholic cocktails which is pretty awesome, but I had to pass due to last night shenanigans! The place just makes you feel good, and you can tell that care went into your meal! Loved it!

I came back home to the Chi for Christmas 2023and was staying on the MagMile. Wasn't too many options but I "discovered" that there was a great 24 hour diner on the near west side and I was happy to indulge! Maria was my server and she was so sweet with her humor smile and charm! I ordered a skillet which was amazing!

This diner has very cute vibes like the diners you see in movies! I thought it was p good! I only got the jalapeño poppers and I absolutely loved them!! My friend got a milkshake which she didn't really like, but others ordered pancakes and loved them as well!! Moreover, there are a LOT of gluten free options for those who need that so that was a bonus!

Awesome breakfast spot! Hubby and I shared the salmon eggs Benedict that came with either hash browns or fruit. We went the fruit options. The portions were huge and absolutely delicious. We grabbed some coffee and I was so happy they had French vanilla creamer on the table. Not wanting breakfast? No problem. The menu is huge and offers breakfast, lunch and diner. Cocktails? Yep they have those also. The service was excellent and the atmosphere clean, casual and comfortable.

Best place to get food after late night clubbing if you're dying of hunger. Service is quick and food comes out pretty quickly as well. But it's just normal diner food. Slightly more expensive bc it's in the city but a good place if you have limited options. Very diner-y ambiance and fairly clean and well lit.

Griddle 24 is what Denny's WISH it could be... Griddle 24 is like iHop's better hotter and funnier cousin. Breakfast portions are HUGE, and therefore, this place is a great deal! Imagine spending roughly $20 per plate, but sharing between 2 people... that's like $10 per person for an extremely filling meal! Not into breakfast? Their menu is also large (like their portions) so don't worry. Great diner food, and not uber-greasy (major plus). The host greeted us with a warm smile and hearty hello. Our server was quick, but didn't make us feel rushed. The food was fresh and brought out quickly. I asked for certain substitutions due to a new diet, and they accommodated perfectly. Wish they had a location in California so I could bring more friends!

We ended up here because it was just two doors down from an event we attended. When we entered, I definitely got the feel of an updated Greek diner, which I always loved when I was younger. Although it seemed busy, we were able to be seated right away and the waitress was quick to attend to us. They let you know as soon as you come in that they do not split checks so be prepared to pay with just one form of payment. The place had a nice buzz but was not overly loud which I appreciated. It looks like this is a place for groups after they attend events in the area. The menu is massive. One entire side is just breakfast options and the other side is a variety of things, but I guarantee you can find something on this menu that you like. I opted for the California Cobb salad. It was huge and it was full of ingredients. The only downside was that it was made with iceberg lettuce. Not a fan. But other than that, the salad was great. It also came with for wedges of pita which I wasn't expecting and it was a nice surprise. I ordered a boozy milkshake. I have one made with Irish Cream and it was delightful. If I'm ever in the area again for something, I would definitely dine here. I probably wouldn't travel here from my home in the south suburbs just to eat here though. So if you're in the River North Area and you're looking for a place to get some decent food, give it a try!

For a greasy diner that stays open 24 hours and serves the wretched drunk most time's ignorant party crowd this place deserves 5 stars just for that accomplishment alone...lol But honestly the food here is pretty damn fantastic...There's a lot on the menu and it's all done very well with nice presentation and seasoned nicely...They do boozy milkshakes here that are fantastic and the breakfasts plates are greasy diner heaven good! This is a go to place for me after a late night concert for sure which is how I usually end up here but I would eat here anytime of the day if I was near by. Next time I'm there I want to try the Monte Cristo sandwich

Chicago. So late at night, it's early morning for most. The mission is to find food to cover for my poor planning during the day. I searched around and found this place listed a few minutes away. Yelp rating seems ok, but I vet that with my new pal whenever I travel, Babunfoodie, on Instagram. Nice and bright, the service was fast, and it's opened 24 hours from Thursday to Sunday. The rest of the week, get there early if you want a bite. The California burger was tasty, and the pancakes were nice. Look no further for your midnight meal.

Came from out of town- was looking for a quick morning sit down spot. Food was like a Dennys or George Webbs. But the Italian lady working made us feel like family. Great customer service. Super friendly. We will come back next time in Chicago!

A restaurant is in charge of their own menu on Uber Eats, right? They should know what they're offering, right? Why did I order a Benedict and receive a sandwich? Ordered Avocado Toast Benedict. Description: "Two poached eggs on English muffin halves, Hollandaise sauce. Fresh avocado, smoked salmon, tomatoes, red onion, capers, cream cheese and (2) poached eggs." I was also required to choose a SIDE of toast or bagel, and I requested no capers. What I got: a sandwich on multi-grain toast that looked like it was thrown together in 5 seconds. And it was delivered without: - English muffin halves, - Hollandaise sauce, - cream cheese. It was pretty ugly so I didn't bother taking a photo. I also asked for NO utensils, which was correctly printed on the receipt attached to the bag. They still gave me plastic utensils. Overall it still tasted okay so they get 2 stars, but I didn't get what I ordered.

It's was pretty decent, good standard diner fare. Good thing about this spot is there's not much competition at the same price point. 24 hours open? Yea please. Service was friendly but kinda leisurely. Burger was tasty and came with a soup which is nice. I mean being proximity to clubs with 24 hour service is great. Get a bite to eat late night. Nice and convenient at all weird hours.

To some, just your typical diner. Not to me. There is something so satisfying about being welcomed in with a smile and friendly word each time. Griddle 24 certainly has all the makings of your "typical diner" with the refrigerated glass sweets case, the counter service and usual booty seating, but is is so much more. The menu is quite extensive. Large and two sided; one for breakfast (that is served all day) and the other for lunch and dinner. The daily soup choices are always served hot and flavorful, just just something out of a can. The service is fast and friendly and always accurate. Want an extra side of Mayo or BBQ sauce, no problem - and you're not going to see any extra charge. My water glass was never even close to empty before it was refilled. The place can get really busy Thursday - Saturday nights as there is a "club" next door. Mornings on the weekend are jumping, but don't let they stop you. Service is quick and you never feel rushed when sipping coffee after your meal. Windows all around, fun lighting on the sign and a couple of ceiling corner flat screens with no annoying volume to make for easier conversation. I have had so many items in their menu, but tonight I got the combination Reuben. You'd better be hungry and be prepared for a knife and fork dinner. Impossible tj eat with your hands and the house made Thousand Island dressing is A-mazing! I asked for the fries to be a little well done and they were perfectly crispy. Come hungry, bring the kids and leave satisfied and happy with the price. Oh and don't forget one of their amazing milkshakes, still naked with real ice cream by a real milkshake machine with Love!!!!

Sometimes a good diner is the best answer. I have always been a fan of the hole-in-the-wall diner, and Griddle 24 is a step above with its classic 60s-looking interior, warm staff, and is in a great location. I ordered the French toast and eggs with some chicken wings to share with my friend on the side. She got the Veggie Crapes with holidays sauce and a tea. I washed my meal down with a coffee. Everything was diner perfect. My friend wasn't a fan of her crape. I think she wanted more flavor, but the holidays helped. The chicken wings were a pleasant surprise and one of the best parts of the meal. I noticed they sell chicken and waffles but use chicken tenders; their chicken wings are so good, so why not combine the wings with the waffles? If they did, I believe they would have one of the best chicken and waffles in the city. When asking my excellent waiter why they didn't do the wings with the waffles, he said the cook didn't want to. I think this is a missed opportunity. Food quality and service gets this spot a 4 of 5 Come on, Griddle, put the wings with the waffles!

To note, 1. I did not try the pancakes. After eating the salmon scrambler, I was already full. 2. Please do not individually try the capers like I did if you aren't already versed in capers. But to the salmon scrambler, it was great. The salmon already was scrambled inside which I appreciated as I was hoping I didn't have to mix it in. There were some peppers inside and it came with cream cheese that I wasn't sure how it would taste with the eggs but everything complemented each other well. It's also 24 hours I believe on the weekend so the breakfast food, the salmon scrambler to be specific, is definitely worth a try.

Classic diner breakfast for dinner food. The eggs, hash browns and pancakes were all good and hit the spot, but nothing was mind blowing. I liked the vibe of the place and coming to a diner at 10 pm. Good music (lots of 80s!) and very chill. The menu was really long and they had lots of other options like sandwiches and burgers, so maybe something else on the menu would have stood out more. I would come back here for a good late night time or to get some breakfast for dinner yum!

Come here all the time since I live nearby. Servers are always super sweet. Food is what you would expect. Tons of options. Milk shakes are always a must. They even make "boozy" milk shakes.

I came here from a recommendation, and I came at an unusual time. The place still had a few tables sat. They have a large menu with breakfast served all day! My server was really nice, and was attentive. My entrée came with free soup which I had the broccoli cheddar. The entrée, side of bacon and a dessert came to around $25 before tip, which isn't bad. The food was not horrible, but not awful either. I'd visit again.

Great service on a crowded day, very polite and helpful. The food is very above average a lot to choose from. Has the feel of a mom and pop restaurant.

Couldn't sleep when visiting my sister in Chi town. Was up tossing and turning so long that I got hungry. I felt blessed to be only a few blocks walking distance so I braved the below 49 degree weather and trotted over to have a corned beef hash scramble. It was absolutely delish and hit the spot. Service at 4 am was casual. Nobody seemed to be laying it on thick. Just what you would hope/expect from an emergency late night breakfast.

They're menu is not accurate and the food was very disappointing. The skillet was burnt and the hash browns were stale. The pancakes were chewy and not in a good way. The only positive was that the staff was nice. With so many good diners in the area, unless this is the only place open, save yourself the money and disappointment and go elsewhere.

Great food EXCEPT - Super Salty. I was super thirsty after. I probably won't order again because of that. Loved the sweet potato fries which weren't salty.

Great place to eat anytime of the day! Breakfast is served all day long. I ate there twice while visiting Chicago. During the first visit I ordered the Ollie Burger, the next day I ordered the countryside skillet. Both meals were amazing and I would definitely eat there again. We had a party of four and everyone enjoyed there meals. The food came out in a timely manner in spite of the crowd and the service was top notch .

Stopped in for breakfast while in the area. Weekend morning, yet we still got seated instantly. Amazed this place wasn't more packed. We had great service and very good food. I had their egg breakfast with turkey sausage and hash browns. Wife had their French toast breakfast with scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, & a side of grits. Also had mimosas. We enjoyed our food, and service was friendly and attentive. Nothing to complain about, so, 5 stars!
