I like coming here to drink craft beer, listen to live music, and enjoy a chill environment. They have a great selection of cocktails and craft beers ( on tap or cans) and to top it all off....they have Susan. Whenever we come in she takes care of us and makes us feel right at home. Big ups to Sergio too!

If you like having options when it comes to beer, this is the place. Food also has a great variety to choose from and the quality wont disappoint. Enjoyable atmosphere to just chill. Let’s not forget the service… Kayce was above and beyond awesome! We’d return alone just for her amazing customer service! Cheers 🍻

Looking for a family friendly restaurant? Well, look no further; Grillin & Chillin is the place for that and more. More you say? Yes, more! Like entertainment, music, trivia, paint nights, etc.. The staff makes you feel like family. They are warm and welcoming and make sure your experience is a top priority. Imagine that, an establishment that still cares about your experience, right!?!. They care and it shows. I often sit in Susan Frowein’s section, she’s always engaging and eager to offer refills and bring extra napkins and even engage with my kiddos who think that she is, “sooo cool”. Thanks Susan for making me look like a cool mom and showing our family the love and making us feel extra extra 💯. So what are you waiting for, get in there and give them a try ;)

Multiple tvs so you can watch the game. Food was okay. Service was slow but we expected that thanks to reviews.

I always have the best time going to the Ale house. They have great food and the tequila selection is amazing. Ashley was our server and she always gives us the best service and will definitely be back!!

We had a wonderful experience with Angel as our server! From the moment we sat down, Angel was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. A True Gem Behind the Bar! Angel is hands-down one of the best bartenders and waitresses I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by. From the moment I sat down, she greeted me with a warm, genuine smile and made me feel completely welcome. Her energy is infectious, her timing is perfect, and she somehow manages to juggle a busy bar while still making everyone feel like they’re her top priority. Not only were her drink recommendations on point, but she also remembered the little things—like how I take my drink and checked in just the right amount. You can tell she takes pride in what she does, and it truly shows. If you're lucky enough to have Angel taking care of you, you're in for an amazing experience. Every time we go eat at the Ale House we have such great customer service. This last time we went we had Susan serving our table. Susan has great customer service, makes you feel part of the Ale House family and is open to having a conversation with just about anyone. Highly recommend this place as a great dinner spot. They have so many beers to choose from and they also have kid/adult games to choose from while you wait for dinner.

My heart is pounding while writing this review, mostly my because I'm in shock me and my little family. On Saturday we walked into grilling and chilling, hoping for a great experience as I had a few months prior, when a family member rented out the backspace of grillin and chillin for a celebration of life. On Saturday December 14th 2024 me and my family walked in happy looking around town, searching for a good place to eat. We walked in and nobody said anything to us, which we were totally confused by. Everybody was just kind of staring at us... It felt very awkward so I finally.. after standing there for several minutes asked a server who WAS SO RUDE replied "I will be with you when I can". I wanted to walk out there and I should've because a few minutes later we sat down she threw two menus at us and there was five of two adult and three kids. After sitting there for several minutes, she didn't come back to the table at all and then kept on walking by us and then finally said oh I'll be with you in a minute finally came to the table and we were asking questions about the menu and she didn't reply with any Feedback at all in which I was shocked by because hello if you know that you have other options that will accommodate me I would think that you would say that. Fast-forward to us putting in our drink order, we wanted to put in some appetizers my partner put in jalapeño poppers to which I replied, wait can I add to that as I was talking she walked away from me like literally I was trying to order something and she walked away from me. Didn't say anything. She's like OK that's all you need like I just said I wanted to order something else and you're walking away as I'm talking. This may not seem like a big deal but to us it was so rude and and I cannot explain the feeling it was humiliation and just like wow even our kids were like mom why did she just do that? I then got up and told her not to put in the order and told her she was the rudest server I have ever met in my life and she should be ashamed. She has long really long highlighted blond hair, wears black glasses. She is so rude, didn't greet us didn't say hi didn't say oh here's your table. Just threw the menus on the table and I guess that's where we were sitting. we've lived in Hollister for years and never have had this experience. It was almost some form of racism to us. We are not white a mixed family And proud of that! Just something to take consideration when visiting this place it was the most horrible experience and I will never be back there . What I will say is thank you to the restaurant that we found that we spent $300!! And I hope this owner takes into consideration who he is hiring and what their values are because that was ridiculous!!

We LOVE their selection of beers. The atmosphere is casual, low key and the staff is super friendly. They also have vegan food and are willing to change an order around to suit dietary needs. Great stop for us when in Hollister, and sometimes we purposefully make the trip here from Prunedale.

Been frequenting this place for several years now even back when they were just a small bar only. Have hosted a few large events and mid-sized birthday parties as well. Service has always been great here. Food is usually good size portions. Lots to choose from on the menu. Good fresh beer selection on tap. Our usual go to spot whether it's just the two of us, or with more family. Very accommodating with our grandchildren too. New jukebox is cool too and they have live music a couple times a week. Highly recommend!

Beer and tequila are great but do not order the Silder Pulled Brisket. That had to be the driest Brisket around. Try to add a little BBQ sauce to it but it still sucks. Told the bartender about it and I thought she would take it off the bill but she didn't. The only reason i would go back would be for the Fortaleza tequila

Waiter wearing red last night was super rude. Although food is good, they could benefit from getting rid of some of the waiters who only want to dedicate their attention to men and not the families that go in. Our table waited over 20min to get refills to our drinks. When she would pass by, she would look the opposite direction to not be asked for refills. When she finally acknowledged our table she proceeded to say "what do you want" passively aggressive. She then proceeded to dance on the dance floor before putting our order in. Anyways they have an ok ambiance, and great bands that do play once in a while. This place is more like hooters, dedicated to thirsty men not for families. The lady wearing the red lastnight needs to go. The other two wearing black actually did offer to help our table when they noticed the one wearing red wasn't helpful.

Still going to rate 5 stars because of their food, which continues to be outstanding. A little disappointed that both their nitro beers (on tap) were not available. This place continues to be our annual stop on the way to Santa Cruz, and as usual it didn't disappoint. Corn hole boards are always a nice feature while waiting for your order to arrive.

Service could be a little better. Seems like staffs cater more towards WHITE FOLKS!! After entering we stood at the entrance for almost 5mins. Was not greeted and we didn't know about how to order. 10mins past I said the HELL with this. I squeezed my way in between people that were sitting at the bar and waved at the bartender to order drinks. Will not be return.

We are visiting Hollister for a wedding and we went out for dinner here. The menu is insane! They have everything you can think of and even stuff that you haven't thought of! We had their cowboy queso and it was delicious!!! I was in a group of 4 for dinner and the food portions were so big we all only ate about half of what we ordered. Our waitress was very nice and checked in on us often! We were all a little tired from the drive, otherwise we probably would have played some of the corn hole or giant connect 4 that they have there. The ambiance is very family friendly and relaxing! If we ever find ourselves back in Hollister, I'm sure we will be back! Definitely recommend!

Thank you to the amazing owner and staff for coming through last minute to save my son's 1st birthday party!! Due to the rain we needed an indoor venue in less than a week, and they accommodated ALL our vendors and our menu to make everything so smooth and stress free.. We can't thank them enough!! Thank you Bliss for your support and we can't wait to book for future events!!

Came here with my family for dinner and loved it. They have a huge menu selection and everything we ordered was delicious. The drink selection was also great and we had the sweetest server. We were able to get a table without waiting that had a great view of the soccer game. And there was live music! Overall a great vibe and a fun place for families with some delicious food!

Great food and beer in Hollister! Friendly staff too. Just wish they had a separate dog area . I love dogs , but Husky hair flying in my food was a bit much.

My favorite watering hole! They always have an excellent beer selection. A few wine selections and the kitchen always does an exceptional job with the menu items!

Although the service here is great. It hit and miss. If you order tacos on Tuesday great ! Other things like the 19 dollar potatoes are overrated. The have to taste good not just look good. Your portions are never the same. Tiniest margaritas in town . The seats are always full at the bar, but then again they don't serve beer in a jam jar either

I didn't want to like this place, their Alehouse location f'd up steak so badly the first (and last) time I went. I got a cowboy burger with fries, and it was HUGE and delicious (and very, very messy). Fries were crispy outside, tender inside, and hot. I'd recommend this place for burgers. That steak at the Alehouse was so terribly cooked that I don't dare try steak here.

Angel was our server. Love the rockin music and the hometown feel. Very friendly and clean. Gender neutral restrooms. :) McKenna readily assisted. Gotta say the servers are able to carry some food. Holy moly. Thanks for the smiles

Food was terrible and crazy expensive. No kids meals. Burgers don't come with fries (extra 6 bucks for soggy, frozen oven fries that aren't fried or crispy). No joke, the fries tasted like a handful of them were thrown on an oven sheet and baked for 10 minutes. Pretty awful. I guess there's a reason why most of the people in there are drinking and not eating. Kinda stinks the food is so bad as the atmosphere is pretty cool. I would compare the food to a step below bowling alley food (minus the deep frier). Unfortunately, we won't be coming back unless the food quality gets better.

it is a far cry from the place it was when I first moved to Hollister. Service is awful, when you flag someone down they seem to ignore you, you get up to get their attention and then theyll say ok but not come over to the table. The big reason for a single star, they'll charge $4.00 for a drink, .50 for a side of mayo for a burger. $2.00 for a side of bbq sauce. How do you not mention that all your sides are extra? You have to Pay a La carte for an over priced burger then if You want cold, undercooked fries you have to pay $6. +$20 burger and crap service. not anymore! It's progressively gone down hill and we finally had enough. We won't be going back. Although it seems family friendly, they don't have a kids menu so I wouldn't label it that way. note: don't get the cheese pizza. Somehow the ends were burnt but the pizza was flabby And the cheese just slips off.

Took an hour to get our food. Food was cold. And to top it off they only gave us a dollar off the 2 beers. They call it chillin because we be chillin forever before they grill our food. Pretty sure watching paint dry takes less time. Time to collect my 401k because I watched my entire life pass by but we got $1 off our beers yay!

The only reason I am giving this place any stars is because our waitress was very nice! Other than that, everything else was disappointing. The first time I ate here I thought everything was great. From the food to the service, everything was satisfactory. I thought it was so good that I brought my sisters here to try it. I had been bragging all week about this place so we were all excited to eat here. This was my sisters first time trying this spot but my second time eating here and it was nothing compared to the first time I ate here. When my sisters and I got there, there were about 8 other people dining in. After getting a table, we waited for about 10 minutes to finally be asked what we wanted to drink. (By the way, their sweet tea is really good) For appetizers, we ordered garlic fries, wings with the bomb sauce (sweet &spicy), & chips, guacamole, & salsa. For our main dishes, we ordered the loco moco, fish & chips, & the bourbon bacon burger. All the food took a while for it to come out. The garlic fries were obviously not fresh because they were barely even hot, you couldn't really taste the garlic, and it actually tasted like the fries were made earlier in the day. The wings looked good but were very bitter. They tasted like they used too much soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce, way too much! I'd say the only appetizer I actually enjoyed was the chips & guacamole. On the menu, the loco moco says it comes with two patties but my sister and I both only got 1 patty that was very tough but a little pink inside. The rice was very mushy and was more like chowder with the amount of gravy they put in the bowl. Now I love extra gravy but again, it was like a bowl of loco moco chowder. My sister that ordered the fish & chips substituted the fries for rice. She said the fish was good but like ours, her rice was very mushy. My sister that ordered the bourbon bacon burger said that her burger patty was very tough. All in all, the only things we enjoyed here was the sweet tea & the chips & guacamole. Maybe they were having an off day when we went but my sisters and I were very disappointed. I do want to give a shout-out to our waitress, Izzy. She is very nice and has great customer service.

Live music (No Vendetta was playing classic rock) and tasty food in a space that allows all ages. I had the caprese burger and tater tots; tasty food- not cheap, but food costs have gone up everywhere, friendly service, and there was no cover. I'd definitely go again for live music. Note: you might want to bring earplugs since that space doesn't have a lot to absorb the sound.

I had heard the Roadhouse was under new ownership and that was confirmed today when we went for Valentine's lunch. The name of the restaurant is now Harvest Time Roadhouse. The new owner was working the floor and was very friendly, stopping at tables to see how everything was. The menu seems pretty much the same as before, and our food was delicious. Service & cocktails were great. Still hoping for a cocktail menu, which I'm sure would benefit the business tremendously. Looking forward to returning soon!

would come here for trivia nights but the service is consistently bad, even when it's not trivia night. it takes 20 minutes to get a drink and an hour to get your food. and a lot of the waitresses are rude. p.s. do not get the pizza bites

Don't go here unless you want shitty service Note: My experience is only based off of the "General Manager" Nicki My family and I came to Grillin & Chillin on Sat around 430pm & walked in & the woman at the front counter never even greeted us. She didn't even look up to say "I'll be right with you" or "Hello". After a minute of standing there I asked her if it was self seating or we needed to wait? Her response was "No! You are going to have to wait and right now we have a table of 9 waiting so you're looking at 30 mins!" So I said "ok that's fine" her response was "You want to wait?" Ummmmm well yes!!! Smh My husband was furious as he witnessed everything. So we loaded our babies back up in the car and drove to SJB to have dinner at Jardines. On the way to SJB I decided to call so I can let the manager know how unprofessional the staff is there only to find out that the woman at the front and who also answered the phone when I called was Nicki! She said "Unfortunately, the person who you spoke to when you came in was me! And I am the manager. I am so sorry that you had a bad experience today. But maybe you can come back on a day when we're not that busy and we can give you better service." Then HUNG UP!! A few things for restaurant businesses to be aware of: 1. Have staff & MANAGEMENT that love what they do 2. Multitasking is a must have skill. So if you can't put an order in and greet a patient you should not be working there 3. Customer service is everything 4. A table of 9 WAITING is not anything to ruffle your feathers. Get your sh!t together I decided to call today to speak to the GM since my experience there was still not sitting well with me. Having a manager with that attitude I would also want to know since they are the face of your business. Low and behold Nicki is the GM! Don't go here unless you want shitty service

Yeah go there if you want bugs in your drinks or terrible tasting appetizers. My wife had a bug in her water and I had bugs in my iced tea. Also the queso dip was terrible and the chips were at least a month old because they were stale.

They have a new name! It is now Harvest Time Road House. Other than that, much remains the same. We have had very good meals here in the past and recently returned for lunch. My husband really enjoyed his burger. I had an elite-style baked potato. It was huge! In fact we shared the leftovers with our dinner later. That said, I would probably not order it again. But that's okay because they have lots of choices. We had Arnold Palmers, which were good & generous, but this spot is best for beer lovers. I think they have a full bar too. We had friendly/excellent/speedy service. We will be back.

Total Fail- Yelp listed restaurant hours open until 8pm. Came in at 3:45 to be told they don't have the kitchen open until another30 minutes. Then were told another 45 minutes after another person asked. Mean while the table of 2 where eating. Waitresses were busy on phones and didn't care that there were patrons. Non customer oriented. Would not recommend this place. Spend your money with other local restaurants that appreciate their customers.

Food is great. 4 stars. Service is Terrible, they are Always understaffed. I've only been here on weekdays. Usually just bartender and 1 waitress. Last visit. Just the bartender who spent most of her time BS ing with the guy at the end of the bar. 15 min to get menus another 20 to get drinks. An hour for food. Crappy drinks to boot. Don't think I'll be back. 3 strikes.

I drove from out of town to this pub in order to see a live band (SIRSY!) that I really enjoy. This was my first visit to the pub. I had already eaten, so I did not order food, but the beer selection was great. The bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable about beer. He gave me a couple of tastes, and I ended up going with the Blind Pig IPA. Good stuff. The venue is very large, and there was plenty of room for watching the band.

Came here with a couple of friends and I was so excited that they had sours!! I love me some sour beers and this pretty pink sour did not disappoint. I think it was Notion Brewing Co and it was called Raspberry Pusher. Omg it was soooo good!! Service was great and very friendly. I split a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with fries and honestly, I didn't expect much but it was cooked perfectly and the fries were crisped just right. I would definitely return when back in this area!

Today was my first time visiting this awesome restaurant!! It's an old school cafe vibe with excellent food!! I had the When In Doubt Burger and it did not disappoint! They make their own Inn N Out style spread- and it's the bomb!!! My son had fettuccine Alfredo and loved it! The fried ice cream was heavenly!! One of the best desserts I've ever had! Our servers were both excellent! I will definitely be coming back!!

Five stars for Service and food quality. We were the first to arrive. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our food was prepared in a timely manner and all of my requests were accommodated by our server Nikki. I have to commend her for her service because she was the only representative working the front of house while serving the indoor and outdoor patrons. She maintained a positive attitude and was extremely efficient.

Hi there, leaving this review just because we got terrible service at the ale house :( the food was good but our server (isabel might've been her name) has a shaved head with a pony tail, was absolutely horrible. worst service i've ever gotten in a restaurant. i respect the service industry but nobody should be working it if they can simply serve a table without being so rude. won't be returning solely for the terrible service.

Stopped here dinner last night on the way back to Watsonville from Hollister. The bartender/waitress was really nice and on top of things, her customer service was great Tried the wings. I'm a critic on wings and they were pretty on point, nice and crispy swimming in sauce. Well done. Fries were nice and crispy too. The street tacos were good, but I probably wouldn't order them again. Felt like there was something lacking. The sauce was really sweet, but personally feel like there could have been some kind of complementing contrast to the sweetness. There's a very extensive beer menu and sounds like it's consistently being rotated with new selections, which is great, but not if the menu isn't kept up to date. We tried to order several beers that were on the menu but weren't actually available. I feel for the staff in that one because it's tough on them not having what's being orders from the menu and also making it difficult to stay knowledgeable on the selection. (Note to ownership: Keep a sour beer selection available) All that being said, if I'm hungry or thirsty passing by here again I would come back. Give it a shot yourselves and see what you think.

We have been here multiple times and this is the first time That I've had the worst service ever (ponytail with two shaved sides, not sure her name). I will never be back. It took 20 minutes to have someone come and take our drink order and this is after she took someone's else order before us who came in later. It took an extra 20 minutes for us to get our drinks after others got there food. All of this was totally understandable for a small place but the worst part was our food. Our food took an hour and a half and it was all cold. I mean it had been sitting. The fries were stale and the pizza was cold. I told the server that I was upset and she said she would talk to the chef. I told her the chef wasn't the problem, the fact that our food was cold was the problem. She completely ignored me and just left the bill for cold food. I have never had to pay for food we hadn't eaten and had to take home to heat up. Worst service ever. We will not be back, completely rude and disrespectful.

The waitress argued with me on the food ... we ordered fries and they were burnt and cold and tasted horrible... but most of all the waitress treated me horribly ... she blamed me for not knowing that they don't have any fried food.. I told her when we first got there that it was our first time there. How would I know that they bake their fries... but does that mean that they will be burned and cold? According to the waitress it did. I asked a server to help me and he was very kind. I never received a bill but was told to pay at the bar and have no idea what I paid for because I was never presented a bill. When I went to the bar to pay I had a guy right next to me looking at what I paid and if I tipped or not. I still tipped 25% because she made me feel so horrible! Do not go there for food , the beer is what they are known for. I was there with my kids though.

Pricey. Took over an hour to get food once ordered. Wasn't worth the wait. Mcdonalds has better burgers. The woman owner is very dishonest and lacks morals and ethics. Horrible person

My wife and I first tried to go here around May 2022, we walked in and the bar tender told us someone would be with us shortly. The 3 waitress passed by us and ignored us countless times. We waited for at least 10 minutes before being seated. The bartender must have felt bad for us and sat us. We waited and waited for a server to serve us and no one came to our table for a long time. The bartender came by and got us some water but the waitresses never stopped. There was a blonde waitress with tattoos who gave us dirty looks and looked like she was mad at the world. My wife and I tried to see how it would take to get service and we tested our patience after at least another 20 mins we did not get any service. We walked out. Last night we wanted to try again, the same blonde waitress with tattoos was there again and again she gave dirty looks and refused to serve us. After a long while another waitress served us, not very personable and took a long time for everything . I asked for a side of buffalo and was told it was an extra charge, ok come to find it it was $2.00 for a dipping sauce. It took at least 5 mins to get the sauce and by the time she brought it I had nothing to dip it in. Food is nothing special, fries tasted frost bit. I will NEVER ever go back. I will stick with the Pour Decisions, way better atmosphere, food, and friendly staff.
