Drinks came in a small Mason jar glass and costs about $10 each. Nice vibe. The DJ played 90's and 00's hip hop and RnB music. There was also a dance club upstairs that was decent. It bothered me that the floors didn't feel safe (it seemed to be moving up and down when people were dancing) and that it got ridiculously hot in there. There was definitely a long line formed outside the club.

They artificially keep the line long so that they can charge others to bypass the line. I understand all bars do it but everyone in line could see inside that it wasn't very busy. No cover for the first floor but $10 for the dance floor on the third level (this was a Saturday). The dance floor doesn't feel safe and you can feel it buckling to the music.

Went in for lunch with a group of 9, the place was empty other than us, so the server was very accommodating. Our group got our drinks promptly and we were happy with the little wait for out food. I ordered the BLT and it was solid. The server offered me a drink for my wait because mine came out last, but I was fine with water. Good experience overall. Food- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decor- ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Price- ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thieves. The reviews are rife with stories about the bartenders and bouncers stealing money and pocketing change. I will never go back. I wasn't sure how true those stories wear until last Saturday. My girlfriend had a couple unopened shots in her purse. Bouncer held them for safe keeping and wouldn't allow them in. No problem at the time. After leaving the bar, he refused to return them and said he was confiscating it per his "policy." I'm an attorney, so I knew that was suspicious. So I told him he had no authority under the law to do that, and he didn't warn us either before entered. He told me to screw off and I decided I'm never going back. Generally rude staff, don't waste your time or money here.

I've been waiting a long time to write a proper review for Grim's, because in my bar-going experience this place truly stands out as one of the greats; even amongst the other strong contenders in Capitol Hill. My second weekend ever living in the city, I came to Grim's for dinner early on a rainy winter evening because we had heard how good their grilled cheese sandwiches were. They did not disappoint! We had finished our sandwiches and a couple of drinks, when we noticed they were just opening an upstairs area. All of us were in "explore" mode so we decided to scope out the upstairs, otherwise known as The Butterfly Lounge. Little did I know I would be hosting my birthday party there just eight months later. The walls in this lounge are lined with butterflies set in backlit mason jars perched on inset alcoves, the walls and floor are black, and the ceiling is a golden tin stamped with an intriguing pattern. It's laid out long and narrow, with reclaimed pillows and tables lining the walls. At the other end of the benches is the bar, where Caleb makes the BEST drinks. Seriously. Best. Bartender. EVER. He has lined the walls of his bar (he is the only bartender that works the lounge, it's only open Thursday - Saturday nights) with all kinds of crazy bitters. He makes great drinks like a Blood & Sand or a Moscow Mule, but he is the kind of bartender who loves a challenge. Tell him what you like in a drink (a type of booze, a flavor profile, a fruit, etc), and he will make you something that is one-of-a-kind and truly exceptional. I brag about his skills to all of my friends until they finally come with me to visit the lounge, and every single one has sang his praises back to me. I get kinda smug about it, because I know he rocks! My birthday party (about 60 guests) went off without a hitch, and I can't imagine a better guy to have behind the bar. One of my most memorable birthdays, no doubt. We had the lounge reserved from 7-10, and we got to play music from my iPod the whole time. The food was incredible, I had the short ribs but tried everything from the chicken to the mac and cheese (benefit of being the birthday boy). Bonus if you rent out the lounge: you and your guests get to go upstairs to The Woods (dance club) for a lump sum of $150! Normally $5/person. The Woods on my birthday was a great time! Timing was a key factor here, we rented The Butterfly Lounge from 7-10 and The Woods opened at 10, so for a while it was just my friends up on the dance floor... felt like a VIP! All in all, this place is fantastic and you can truly spend an entire evening under one roof and have three entirely separate but equally awesome experiences. Every time I come to any one of the three venues hosted under the "Grim's" name, it's always great. Strongly recommend!

Grimms is great because you can get food and drinks below, host a private party in the middle, and dance on the top floor. The music on the third floor has been excellent all 3 times I've been here. They play a good variety including random throw backs, top 40 songs, R&B, Pop, and a few techno songs thrown in. The age group for the dance area seems like its mostly people between 21-30ish. This is definitely one of my favorite places to go dancing in Seattle. It's a small area, so it typically feels/gets packed.

Grim's is a lively bar with great music and fun DJs. The drinks are always delicious (but sometimes pricey) and the upstairs dance floor - The Woods - plays the best music. The only qualm I have is that the line to actually get in is INSANE. Sometimes you can wait up to an hour outside and then another 45 minutes inside. Plus they ONLY TAKE CASH for their cover. A little out of date in my opinion but they can do what works best for them.

Bartenders were new at their job, but were willing to help with some missing pool balls. The lighting was dark and i rocked out to some ACDC and led zepplin but the music kept shifting, as if shuffle play was on. Please put some chalk near the pool table and I'll change my rating next time i come on!
