Google
Great great place in Sag Harbor. During the summertime I always find the time to get here and enjoy these delicious donuts with a cappuccino or ice latte. I love all donuts here, tried almost everything so far but the most fav is the cinnamon sugar one. It’s simple, not too sweet, fluffy, fresh and you can taste it’s a real homemade big donut. The strawberry jelly donuts are also SO SO delicious - it has a lot of jelly inside. Seasonally, they have the blueberry jelly which is also a big yes for me. Their coffees are also delicious and fresh!! Can’t wait to be back here and try other flavors too.

Jack Clayton

Google
Not bad! The cinnamon sugar donut is really good. The chocolate glazed donut tastes like a cake. But i was not a fan of the lemon coconut at all, it Tastes weird. $5 ish per dodo

Emma Hines

Google
Lines are extremely long, what doesn't help is the young barista girl constantly chatting about her private life with her coworker. Then they don't provide pre-orders for pickup. Don't recommend. Go to Jack's Coffee instead, it's just up the road and the baristas are more customer-oriented.

Nick Jacobson

Google
Staff were friendly. Went in the afternoon on a Friday and they still had a full selection. $5 a donut is probably acceptable for the location. The strawberry glazed had a deliciously-lemony tang to it. But it was strong enough that I would honestly call it a Strawberry Lemon donut to not surprise you. Jelly donut was very well stuffed; prepare for that. A short step up from Dunkin’ in aesthetics and flavor.

Whether you’re craving a delicious treat, or need a shot of caffeine, Grindstone is THE place to go for both in Sag Harbor. Grindstone has amazing vibes, thanks to the super friendly and welcoming atmosphere that Kyle and his team provide. Try the maple sea salt for a taste of heaven. You’ll be glad you did.

Google
Perfect spot to grab a donut and coffee to walk around sag harbor. Their donuts are on the larger side (not complaining). They’re unbelievable when fresh and delicious if boxed and eaten at home. Also home to some great coffee My go-to is their glazed (slightly citrusy?) or lemon poppy and an iced americano.

Google
This is our favorite donut place. They make great coffee, it’s really strong so be aware. They have much in tea and everything. The donuts are amazing. If you have time for lunch, grab one of the sandwiches the bread is made of like a brioche and English muffin. It’s a really decadent sandwich.

Google
Coffee and donuts in Saag Harbor. Need a quick pick me up? Craving a sweet snack and a cup of joe? Look no further. This cool funny spot has good service and lots of tasty options. If you're in town, stop by. I did not try the breakfast sandwich (as I'd already had breakfast) but they looked amazing. Great art on the wall too.

Yelp
Great place for coffee and donuts. The churro vanilla cream donut is our favorite! The seasonal donuts are something we look forward to.

AJ L.

Yelp
Came here for coffee and donuts post lunch and had a great experience. I ordered the maple sea salt donut (FANTASTIC) and the spicy mocha. The donut was super flavorful and not too sweet or too salty - the perfect balance. They forgot to add the spice to my coffee and re-made it, but even then, barely was there any kick to it. Service was friendly and super fast. Would certainly come back and try other donuts since everything they had looked delicious.

Cesar V.

Yelp
I can't have gluten, but everything was beautiful and smelled amazing. The people I bought them for loved the donuts! 5 stars if there was a gluten free option. But definitely recommend to the lucky people that can enjoy gluten.

Lilliana C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a cappuccino, which was smooth and delicious. The donuts looked fantastic, but unfortunately, they were a bit of a letdown--dry and flaky. It's a small spot, definitely more of a grab-and-go atmosphere. The service was friendly though, which added to the overall experience.

Christine S.

Yelp
While its a nice shop, I was very underwhelmed. The donuts were very very greasy. Granted I did stop in around 3pm on a Sunday, but the donuts tasted very fresh, they were just very oily. It took away from the taste. The maple frosted was amazing as was the lemon poppy- but mostly because of the frosting, not the donut itself. The chocolate cake donut had a weird texture. The jelly (Strawberry) donut was the best one- the filling is homemmade, you can tell and it was delicous. But again, the donut was greasy. Overall, they were expensive for subpar donuts.

Yelp
I did not like it here. A lot of people seem to like it but I kind of hated it. I came with my dad, my friend and my son one Saturday while we were touring the Hamptons. I have a book called 111 things in the hamptons you must not miss and to me this shop was not worth the book recommendation inside the book. I wasn't impressed with my donut, the jelly was not that great, kind of pasty. My coffee was terrible, so weak I felt like I was just drinking some coffee in my milk. So I didn't like this place at all, unfortunately.

Arthur A.

Yelp
I'm more a cake donut fan, but having tried a few of these, I can definitely say these are the best yeast donuts I've had in a long, long time. There's quite a variety of flavors. The staff are all nice as well. They can run out quickly, depending on how many they've made for the day and the demand. It was our third time stopping by there, but the first where we were actually able to get donuts. It's a testament to the quality of the donuts for sure.

Christina P.

Yelp
Great donuts. Must stop by place if you're around. Unfortunately no gluten free options.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
The maple donut was the most flavorful donut I think I've ever had. It was so light & fluffy! The coconut passion fruit also was delicious! I had the peanut butter mocha iced coffee which was good but not the best. By far the star of the show here are the donuts.

Raquel B.

Yelp
The donuts are great! The staff is so kind. The kind of place we need in Sag Harbor. Sometimes its hard to go in there because the line can be disorganized.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Coffee is good but the doughnuts are outstanding. Grew up in PA Dutch Country (feels like the doughnut capital). Unfortunately, they're no longer made with any integrity- loaded with cheap & artificial ingredients. Had the Churro & Glazed. Possibly the lightest, cleanest, tasting doughnut to ever grace my lips. That isn't always a good thing, but in this case it was. Flavors & filings sang in the absence of the waxy aftertaste of heavy palm oil & cloyingly sweet artificial flavors. At $50-$60/dozen (don't care Hamptons still ridiculous) you won't enjoy more than a taste & a lot of pressure to make the right selection. This coupled with the awkward space with no seating & visibility of what's to order blocked by lines, means there's room for improvement before charging $5 a doughnut.

Ciara G.

Yelp
They make some of the best yeast donuts EVER. The Maple Sea Salt is chefs kiss. The Chocolate Old Fashioned is cake donut perfection.

Melanie D.

Yelp
What a line! Is it worth it? I'd say yes if you have the time and stamina to find a parking spot. Located on the main road in Sag Harbor, its a popular spot for a quick coffee and quick donut as a snack. The donuts run quick, theyre also okay and not mind blowing. The coffees are totally worth it thought - they also spice them up different ways. Overall 8/10

Jason B.

Yelp
After a few visits and trying a variety of donuts I'm upgrading to 5 stars and my favorite donut shop on the East End. Today we tried maple sea salt, strawberry jelly, nutella smores and a mini strawberry sprinkle frosted and all were excellent. The strawberry flavors actually tasted like strawberry. The full size donuts are enormous. You can easily share one. There are a few 'mini' sized donuts which I'd call 'normal' size though my 2 year old put away a mini with ease. Credit cards accepted.

Yelp
Being that this was more of a destination trip for some preemo donuts , I had to find out if this was going to go toe to toe with my new standard in donuts ... SideCar ! I haven't travelled enough across the nation to find the ultimate donuts but I have to say, SideCar is the crème de la crème of clean ingredients, presentation, weight and the feeling afterwards. First off this was about an hour and change road-trip with one of my awesome friends and his lovely wife , and nothing but nostalgic moments discussed on our way to SaG Harbor. When we arrived , I just loved the vibe of the area, people were out, weather was amazing and sun was shining. It seems the hype was living up to its name because they ran out of alot of the flavors they had so as you can see in the pic, that's just about what they had left . The powdered jelly donut, the Boston crème and the other sugar donut I forgot what flavor, but man oh man these three with a latte were pretty amazing. The cafe was nice inside , but you just had to eat the donuts outside, and that we did. I have to revisit this spot again but never alone. I need to share this goodness with some other friends and spread the word. Now if grindstone can open another spot out in Nassau County, I'd be a happy camper . Til then , it's gonna be a road trip !

Brad M.

Yelp
Just go here. Everyone loves donuts but this place does them right. The filled donuts are probably 3lbs each and are so damn good. The blueberry jelly was fresh and had the seeds in it. The Boston cream was absolutely the best I've had. The s'mores was the downer in this group honestly. But the absolute best donut I've EVER had was the churro. I'm telling you get it and you'll see.

Shamila P.

Yelp
The Donuts are so pretty and so yummy. I feel like every time I go in I start picking donuts like I am not on a diet LOL Its like total CHEAT DAY! Can get a little crowded in the weekends but they clear the line pretty quick Love that how Christmas time they put the Christmas Story Lamp Leg . They recently added Ice cream too. I am not a coffee person but Coffee smells so great in there too!

Sarah J.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this coffee shop! Great espresso drinks and quality syrups. The donuts and sandwiches are so creative! I'm here almost every day and I love how consistently good it is.

Doug E.

Yelp
As a former donut shop owner I find it very satisfying to try as many donuts as possible wherever I go. If I had more stomach left, I would have eaten at least 2-3 more then the chocolate sea salt version in the picture. The donut itself was light and airy with the typical yeast raised base. The frosting was a chocolate base with a dose of sea salt sprinkled atop. Being the Hampton's, I certainly did not expect the prices to be reasonable so the $4 price was totally okay in my book. I was hoping to get a bit more saltiness crunch, but it was later in the day so the salt kinda blended into the background. I was kinda hoping for some Maldon but couldn't recognize yeh crystals by the time I dug in. The shop itself was quaint and staff very nice. Can't wait to get back for a proper dozen!

Johnathan C.

Yelp
The service is terrible the donuts are rocks they are so crunchy that's not how donuts are supposed to be. The coffee is ok but I asked for creamer in my coffee and they ignored me and just made it with no creamer even though it was clearly in the back behind the counter. I don't recommend this place AT ALL.

Fanny D.

Yelp
A very cute cafe/donut shop. I got the smorgs nutella donut and boston cream pie. The smorgs nutella is SO GOOD! The best donut I've ever had!!! Strongly recommend. The dough is so soft!

Karthik S.

Yelp
If you like donuts, you need to try this place. If you don't like donuts, you should be ashamed of yourself. Their classic glazed was ridiculously good, as was their maple sea salt donut. The latter was really something special, as it's not easy to find a quality maple donut. The donuts were fresh, flavorful, and didn't feel over-greasy. Absolutely stop by, it's worth the time and the calories!

Jose P.

Yelp
Great donuts! They have a seasonal rotating donut selection that can be found on their instagram page. All donuts are made in house and there's a neat window that allows you to see them making donuts right in front of you. I recommend getting there close to 7am because there will be a line down the road. They also they sell out of some the popular flavors by the afternoon. They're coffee is also as amazing as their donuts. The peanut butter ice coffee is out of this world. Small coffee shop with very little seating, but why sit there when you have the water a few feet away.

Sebastien D.

Yelp
I had the best maple donut of my life here, which as a literal French Canadian from the depths of maple land is saying something. Worth a long detour for this donut and walking around the neighborhood.

Sandy T.

Yelp
Came here for a coffee and a Boston cream donut. The coffee was just average. The donut was okay as well. The cream inside was good but the chocolate topping wasnt my favorite. I typically love dark chocolate but this was even more bitter tasting than normal. I wasnt all that impressed with this place but would go back to try it again if im in town.

Steph S.

Yelp
Have been here more places than I can count. A staple for whenever we're in the Hamptons. I typically always get the strawberry donut. My dad always get maple, mom gets chocolate and husband gets poppyseed so needless to say we love all the flavors. For their anniversary recently they were giving out free black and white donuts which I hadn't seen on the menu before but hope it becomes a staple because it was one of our faves. The savory ones are also not meant to be missed! An BEC on donut bread - yes!

Payton M.

Yelp
Fantastic donuts, definitely yeast and the salted caramel and lemon poppy were the clear winners here's. Boston cream was less sweet then we've had and we liked it like that. Coffee is delicious, cold brew was great! Do wish they would keep heavy cream on hand but it's ok.

Heather Z.

Yelp
First time in Sag Harbor and heard I needed to check this place out. Got my obligatory coffee (iced cappuccino) and donut (Nutella S'mores) and was definitely impressed. The coffee was smooth and didn't even need any sweetener. They have so many coffee and milk options, and then of course donuts and baked goods that all just looked incredible. My donut was huge and fluffy and still warm. The toasted marshmallow at the top was literally melting into the Nutella as I was eating- just like a real S'more. I'm a chocohaulic, but they had all sorts of donut flavors - cinnamon, fruit, and other baked goods like lemon bars and brownies. A sweet treat worth a pop in. Note- a bench or two outside in sidewalk but no real designated seating indoors or outdoors.

Meme E.

Yelp
Very nice donuts. Too many to choose from and we had to pick. The chocolate sea salt was calling our name. It didn't disappoint at all. Frosting, which is my favorite part as terrific. Maple, with a pinch of sea salt. Nice reason to cheat our duet!

Ali K.

Yelp
Dark chocolate mini donuts are incredible. The donut batter alone was fantastic. Nice people, great atmosphere and perfect little town.

Caaron W.

Yelp
Wow donuts!!! Fantastic flavors and quality. Coffee decent too. But basically the donuts are the reason to come- lemon poppyseed was terrific!

Gigi A.

Yelp
Very delicious doughnuts and coffees. Know that they cannot provide you with plastic straws due to the city's laws. The prices are commensurate with the Hamptons, stop clutching your pearls. The shop is small so all orders need to be taken to go, but I highly recommend spending the calories on a something raspberry. Despite the tony address, the service here was friendly and helpful.

Vera K.

Yelp
I go there for a specific donut - it's so good as all of them are - and know I have to arrive before noon to ensure it's not sold out. Speaks for itself.

Mike S.

Yelp
Rarely am I out on the forks so stopping in at Grindstone has been a long time coming. This place made my radar earlier this year and I knew I would be out this way Columbus Day weekend - in fact, made a run from Montauk just to try these hand made donuts. To say I am a donut fan is a bit of an understatement. I will tell anyone that will listen that I am worried about the current state of affairs in the donut world. I am not a fan of all these new Instagram friendly spots with machine made donuts that are uniformly dropped in hot oil to fry then coated with different toppings. (Du, Doughology, Duck.. looking at all you Ds). Grindstone is different. You can see that shape isn't exactly uniform so they are rolled by hand. The toppings and fillings are all made in house. There is thought put into the dough - airy brioche or crispy, delicious cake style. They are onto something and doing similar to what I admire about old school places in the NYC/LI area (House of Donuts, Peter Pan, Mo's Dough, etc..) and fear may be dying out. Grindstone gives me hope. Ultimately seeing and tasting how they execute is really the true test. My heart was set to love the lemon poppy, which seems to be one of their signature donuts, but sadly I did not love it. I feel that these donuts don't have enough texture - yes, airy brioche is very nice, but no real crispy outside. The lemon poppy frosting also crackled into pieces falling everywhere making this very difficult to eat. But when one door closes another opens so enter their apple cider cake style donut which was simply fantastic. That caramelized crispy coating and flavor on the outside housing a tender cakey inside were just so excellent. The donuts are pricey, but worth it for quality and the effort they put into every batch. Go for the cake over the brioche style (which is sadly the majority). Excellent coffee drinks and they had amazing looking breakfast sandwiches.

Casey S.

Yelp
Came here in early June with my wife. Such a beautiful location and the donuts were amazing. Even with the COVID regulations at that time, they were prompt with their service and very kind. If I ever do head out to Long Island again I will be coming back here.

Kelly C.

Yelp
I tried coming in for donuts a few times but always miss it (it seems that they run out of donuts significantly earlier than the shop closes). This time I finally got a chance to go in the morning and they had a great selection! My girlfriend and I got the s'mores Nutella, churro, and lemon poppy. We loved each one. The s'mores Nutella didn't have much of a Nutella flavor but still 100% worth going for. Oh and they have the best coffee!!! So good I bought a bag to brew at home (dark roast). Hopefully we'll make it back soon!

Kevin J.

Yelp
Friendly great atmosphere great donuts and coffee. Sometimes a line but worth it . parking available

Darlina L.

Yelp
This donut shop's got major cool vibes! From the decor to the service to the food, I've got no axe to grind... I tried the apple cider donut. Unlike most apple cider donuts that I've had, this one included a light frosting drizzle on top which was delicious and added an extra oomph. Warning... it is messy to eat! I also got an iced maple latte (not too sweet, just the way I like it). Their breakfast sandwiches looked tasty too but I didn't try them this time. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area!

Susan L.

Yelp
Ok so go on the Peloton Bike for an hour to burn some calories. You deserve to eat these donuts. So yummy and worth it. Great with a good cup of coffee and obviously cannot eat just one so try a piece of each.

Jeff F.

Yelp
Oh yea. Finally a great donut. On the money and we'll worth the price. I had the Boston cream and it was a perfect donut. The coffee was great also. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean. I'm not in that town often but when I am, I will definitely be getting more than one. Donuts from heaven.

Danielle G.

Yelp
Donuts here are so awesome! Whenever I'm craving something sweet I come here. Only thing is, I prefer the coffee other spots in sag. So I'd grab your coffee somewhere else and your donut here. Perfect morning having both on the wharf.

Christian B.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place to me before my long drive back to Queens. The donuts were pretty good. Lite not dense and the flavors were yummy. Not sure which one I enjoyed the most but Im a sucker for blueberry so the blueberry filled one was most likely something I'd get again. I think my cashier liked me bc he made a heart in my peanut butter mocha drink lol... Or perhaps it was practice or the only one he knew how to do... as a straight confident dude.. I was flattered lol thanks man....

Rose Marie O.

Yelp
The donuts are OK. For about $36 a dozen I expected them to be a little better. The coffee can be good depending on who happens to be working that day. I remember when they first opened. I was so excited we were be getting a donut shop but it has yet to live up to my expectations.

Haeleigh R.

Yelp
We went around 4 in the afternoon, so there weren't many donuts to choose from. The chocolate cake donut was delicious, as was the baked good up front. The donut was a bit pricey, nearly as much as a half dozen at Dunkin' Donuts, but I understand as it's a local place.

Kristin Z.

Yelp
$12 for three donuts. The plain yeast doughnut itself is bland. It's PERFECTLY fried with a pleasant texture but it has zero flavor. So all of the flavor has to come from the topping and while 2 out of the 3 we tried today were well flavored, they could have had more topping. Lemon poppy was our favorite. Nice, bright lemony flavor. The salted maple was delicious but very salty. But at least the salt kind of flavored the largely bland doughnut. The Nutella s'more doughnut was a disappointment at $5. Not worth it.

Sonya H.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this cute coffee shop while in Sag Harbor. The mocha and coffee were amazing! They had all the milk options that one needs. Atmosphere was cool and friendly staff. Doughnuts were definitely shareable. Not too sweet, more on the line of bread almost. Good. Not many seats. Only 1 bench inside so a great place to grab and go. Well we were in the Hamptons.... who really wants to stay indoors. I would certainly recommend this place. Next visit to Sag, I look forward to returning!

Karen D.

Yelp
We stopped on our way home from Shelter Island. I picked this shoppe based on the Yelp reviews and feel the shoppe is overrated. But, in fairness, this is the off-season. The quality may be dependent on the staff. We had a hot pumpkin latte and an iced caramel latte with almond milk, as well as a chocolate donut and egg sandwich. Neither of us could drink the coffees, taste was not as-expected. Donut was nice, but the sandwich was cold in the middle despite having been reheated before serving. I would not stop here again.

Damian W.

Yelp
Food 4.5/5.0 Service 3.0/5.0 Value 3.0/5.0 Decor 3.0/5.0 Overall 4.0/5.0 Great donuts, but it comes with a bit of a wait unless you ordered online. Donuts themselves were excellent, as was the coffee. Would totally come back.
