Grodzinski Stamford Hill bakery

Just popped in for a coffee but couldn’t resist getting a savoury roll and a jam custard turnover. 😋. So good. Best coffee i have had in a good while too. Staff are helpful and kind. I recommend this bakery highly and will try and return for more good stuff.

Wonderful Jewish bakery. So many delicious products. I was looking for cinnamon rugelach as they'd been mentioned in a book I'd recently read (set in Golders Green & Hendon) and a member of staff was very helpful.

The everything bagel with tuna, olives and lettuce was just perfect. To make things even better we shared a cherry danish. The prices were right and we were able to eat in. Amazing place, amazing food.

Absolutely love this bakery! Every pastry I’ve tried has been fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. The staff are so kind and welcoming, which makes every visit a real pleasure. A true gem for anyone who enjoys quality baked goods. My favourite kosher bakery.

The best and decent price kosher bakery in Stamford hill, from sushi to sandwiches to pancakes and ice cream basically good for Vegetarians and for regulars very good sushi bar , I buy there about once a week ( the odds and ends 😊) would recommend if your in Stamford hill and beyond to try there food. Nice friendly staff bit overpriced food for simple bakery . Most expensive cheese blintzes ever seen really , selling in sushi packages lol

I have been an ongoing customer at grodginsky for many years, today there was a mishap with my delivery and when I called the shop for help I got amazing customer service. I would like to thank the manager for seeing to this himself and taking care of it in a respectable way. I will definitely be returning Thank you for amazing service

Very nice place. Clean and bright with good organisation. Seating area and a huge selection of food and snacks to choose from . The staff deal with order promptly and efficiently. All kosher and affordable prices . I will definitely be going back . Parking is a bit of a inconvenience but small price to pay . They weren't to great with the social distancing measures.

The best kosher bakery I have ever come across. Back in the day Grodzinski consisted of breads, challah and a few pastries. Now they have expanded into serving delicious take out foods such as falafel, salads, fries, and different delicious sandwiches. They have the best, baguettes, bread, coconut puffs, cinnamon buns. Really. And OMG their water challah is absolutely to die for. The owner is always around and willing to help if you have any issues, so are the wonderful women behind the counter.

In a time of recession in the states it is important for me to reflect on simply one of the most delectable treats my mouth has ever had the pleasure of knowing: THE CHALLAH BREAD from Grodzinski's! oh my yelpers, this is the best Hallah I have had in my life. I spelled it both ways for you lot who get caught up in spelling because it doesn't matter what language you speak this bread speaks to me. Coming to Grodzinski's is a funny exp it's basically a battle between jewish house-wives who just dropped there kids off at school and immediatley are getting the bread for the evening. It's all about who can get the freshest and biggest loaves in her basket first, an all out London Jewish Wife War. As Derry said, they have all sorts of sweet specialties. it's worth going to Stamford Hill despite the in-store warfare for the HAllah ladiees and gentlemeen, as it should be. pure, simple, authentic.

Grodzinksi takes me back to being a kid on my way back from school waiting for the bus to go home. Grodzinksi is probbably the reason for my dislike of meringues. I remember peering over the counter and pointing at the meringue when my asked what I wanted. One bite of the sickly sweet white stuff and I realised it taste as good as it looked. I've often popped in over the years but never getting the meringue instead choosing a fresh bagel or a apple strudel. Stamford Hill wouldn't be the same without Grodzinksi and with the area having such a large Jewish population it's unlkely Grodzinksi will go the same way as Woolworths.

Remember as a child my grandmother taking me into the shop what a wonderous sight always had a couple of pastries as i could never decide which one i wanted always rye bread and bagels with lochs when we got home have been in Devon for last 40 years reading these reviews has made me homesick and wanting rye bread bagels and lochs 2

Some may consider this a strange review .When I was 12 in 1944 ,I lived in Stamford Hill .I would save up some money and when I thought I had enough I would head over to Grodzinski's .I can remember staring at the wonderful cakes wondering if I had enough money .This lady would ask me what I wanted and I would ask ,"how much is that chocolate cake" She would smile "how much have you got " I would blush and say 6pence .She would smile and say "the cost is 6 pence .I will never forget her kindness during the war years .My daughter in London went over to check out the store and would have brought me back something ,but they were closed .I will never forget those wonderful cakes or that generous owner that was so kind almost 67 years ago.

Stamford Hill, where this bakery is located, boasts Europe's biggest settlement of Hasidic Jews (they're the ones who wear ringlets and those massive furry hats in winter). Unsurprisingly then, Grodzinski, slap-bang in its centre, specialises in bagels, chola, apple strudel and other Jewish-derived fare such as Austrian mohenstrudel (a sort of baked Swiss Roll lined with sticky, sweet sesame paste). It's cheap as chips and authentic as you're going to get in this city.
