Google
One of the best spots for an afternoon beer on LES. Fantastic selection of German and local beers. Easy but a the bar, no table service. You get exactly what you're any from a German beer hall, I haven't eaten but the food looks solid for being at a beer place.

Google
Great spot! Very experienced employees! The place is very open with cool vibes. I was looking for an open concept bar with a variety of beers and like this in the neighborhood and this place did not disappoint! The staff is super attentive and entertaining as well. Definitely returning again!

Google
Nice corner sport for an afternoon / early evening pint. Compared to the previous name / (owner? - Spitzers) Grunhaus has a quality selection of beers. There's plenty of seating in the front and back. On Sundays, there's may be a live DJ playing by the open aired seating near the entrance, however the music is not loud / boisterous. You can have an intimate chat with friends while the music is playing.

Google
Chill place, great sausages, fantastic draft selection! Love love

craig geller

Google
They're keeping it simple and that's fine. A few sausages, a few sides (pretzels and fries) and lots of beers. Everything tastes/works really well together and it makes for a warm, welcoming vibe. I loved Spitzers but I can also see me loving Grunhaus, but for different reasons.

Google
New LES spot, the ordering and pick up of food is somewhat confusing and prices are a tad high for quality and size of portions. The soft pretzal was very good and the bratwurt on pretzal rolls were very good as well. They have a good selection of mustards and sauces back where you pick up your food. The only negative is that I think they are priced a bit high for thier size. CREDIT CARDS ONLY.

Google
The food is great but the most annoying thing was being told “head to the back in about 15 mins, that’s when your food should be ready”. I mean either give your customers a buzzer, display an order number in either room or give them something recognizable to display at tables and have a food runner bring the food out. When that place is busy it’s a guessing game as to when your food is ready.

Google
Great German and Belgian beers, as well as a wide variety of brats and sausages. The jalapeno slaw on an Argentinian sausage was fantastic.

Yelp
$7 for a happy hour espresso martini is iconic. Quality espresso martinis too, not one of these watered down, low effort, danced on canned espresso martinis... Sorry a lot of descriptors there but they came from my soul. A reasonable happy hour from 4-7pm too. $7 at 6:59pm, $17 at 7:01pm. It really grinds my gears when places advertise a happy hour but it's from 4-6 M-F only... like I can't even physically make that. I guess I gotta go harder for financial freedom... I sat here at the Pretty Ricky's bar with my big homie, surrounded by Halloween decorations, ripping a couple $7 espresso martinis while just sitting there talking about life. Pretty Ricky's is doing inflation how Ilia Topuria did Max Holloway last night. Damn that hurt to even type. Tough to watch your heroes get sent to the shadow realm, but a $7 espresso martini helps take the pain away. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place by chance. Had 2 rounds of drinks. Sat in the back room. Food was simple and good. Had the burger. One of the bartenders was also our server. Funny guy. Would come back.

Shanta K.

Yelp
Cool happy hour place for everyone's new favorite drink, The espresso martini! However please be aware they are pre-made with an inexpensive vodka that might leave you with a hangover the next day. Good happy hour food options as well but my chicken sliders were def made with old chicken. The chicken was brown and hard. Fries were good and very cool aesthetically pleasing bar. I would try it again, in hopes to have better food. Bartender service was very good though.

Yelp
Came here with my finance for a quick drink and bite before a concert at Mercury Lounge last weekend. We ordered the Disco Shrimp: Resurrection and What Happened to the 9 Train to drink and shared fries, a kale salad and crispy chicken sandwich. I was super perplexed by the Disco Shrimp: Resurrection drink. The server described it as tasting like a chocolate covered strawberry margarita and she was spot on! This drink was so unique and very good. My finance also enjoyed his drink. The fries and sandwich were also good. I surprisingly enjoyed the kale salad more than I expected to. I mean it's a kale salad; what's so special? I find kale just ok and I would come back here just for this salad and disco shrimp cocktail alone. The service was great. We had two servers and they were both attentive and awesome. The windows and doors were open so it was a little hot but we're also in the middle of a heat wave so it is what it is. I'm not sure we'll be in the area again anytime soon but if we are I'll definitely stop by again. They have a few more unique cocktails that caught my eye.

Giselle S.

Yelp
Great spot for happy hour especially when the weather is nice. They open all the windows by the street so you have this nice breeze and good lighting all throughout the restaurant. Oysters for happy hour was $1.25 each which isn't bad at all. The oysters tasted fresh! (I wish I could bring some Thai seafood sauce and fried shallots to eat the oysters with lol my fav way to eat oysters. Cocktails were delicious but I observed that my espresso martini didn't have 3 beans on top for symbolism. Nbd was just an observation. The drink was still yummy and got me feeling pretty nice. My friends ordered sliders which they said was good. Service was also really great! 9/10 I do recommend!

Yelp
Date: Friday, January 12th, 2024 Time: around 5pm Party of: 3 What: Happy Hour (Tues to Fri 4pm to 7pm, Sat & Sun 2pm to 5pm) *1/2 Dozen Oysters: Mignonette, Cocktail Sauce ($6) *French Fries ($6) *Espresso Martini: community vodka, mr black coffee liqueur, cold brew ($6) x2 *Bunny Bravo | Espresso & Tonic: ilegal mezcal, amontillado sherry, spiced pear, cold brew fever tree tonic ($6) *Sauvignon Blanc: Gotham Projects, FR ($6) x2 *Jameson ($16) When we first arrived, it wasn't super busy, so we managed to easily grab three seats at the bar. (All the booths were taken.) Towards the end of our time here, it got busier, so we came at a good time. Everything above is from their HH menu except for the Jameson. In a world where inflation is driving up everything, $6 per HH item is awesome! I got the espresso martini and sauvignon blanc. The espresso martini was good. Not too sweet. The sauvignon blanc paired well with the oysters. Tho I'm a fan of smaller oysters, so these were on the bigger side for me. The fries were fine. Some fried food is always a good snack when drinking. If ordering straight whisky / scotch, I would recommend going for the higher shelf stuff as it is reasonably priced. I can't remember what we asked about (maybe the oban 14?), but the price was the same as a pour of jameson. (We figured the jameson would be cheaper, but it was the same price.) Great HH spot. The bartender was nice and attentive without being overly so. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Miguel was the best bartender I've ever seen in my existence of living. He was so kind he was so nice and he made my drink so good. I don't know who the manager is of that establishment but he needs to give Miguel a raise. Also on top of that, the social media manager girl Keeley took photos of us and she ate that up real bad and she ate that me and my friends will definitely back to get more drinks and inside it looks a little bit frat ish because of the people who come in, but other than that, it's a great vibe 10 out of 10 I'm coming back

Emely O.

Yelp
I have only been here for happy hour but the deal is unbeatable, 7$ for drinks and appetizers, the aperol spritz and expreso martinis are top tier, service is a hit or miss

Kati B.

Yelp
Was here on one of the first nice days in the city and really enjoyed them having the giant window in front open. Service was good, drinks were delicious, and it didn't get too crowded but still had good vibes. I'm happy to have stumbled upon this place and looking forward to returning in the future

Alexa T.

Yelp
I popped in here on a Sunday with some friends. The server recognized my friend because he's a a regular, so we were greeted warmly! I got a cider ($9) which I enjoyed. The bathroom is downstairs in the back and there are 4 single stalls. There also another bar area in the back.

Sarah P.

Yelp
I've only been here for cocktails, so I can't speak to the food but I've always been happy with the overall vibe and quality of the drinks here. A few times service has been a bit slow but nothing crazy. I love their interior and seating options. Nothing more enjoyable than sitting near the window on a beautiful day. 4.4/5

Madison B.

Yelp
Yes $6 HH?? Omg the drinks and everything were fabulous and I loved the food. Espresso martini was some of the best I've had and the fries and chicken sliders were sooo yummy and hit the spot. Such a cute spot

Emme M.

Yelp
My favorite spot for happy hour. I live nearby and can always grab a seat outside in the summer or inside. Usually have to reserve the booths for a bigger group. The cocktail menu changes every season and I'm always excited to try the new gin cocktails. The burger deal for happy hour is unmatched. The oysters are also always so fresh. Pro Tip: you can rent out the back room for events and they really do an amazing job with serving crudités or French fries.

Haley V.

Yelp
Yummy drinks (+ reasonable prices at happy hour) but service left something to be desired. My friend and I had to make many attempts to flag down a server for another drink/the bill on multiple occasions. We ordered a final round after happy hour ended and confirmed with our server that we understood the drinks would be full price. We then waited 20 minutes and were told that our drinks didn't come because happy hour was over

Alex L.

Yelp
Don't tell all your friends - just the ones you really like. A happy hour deal this good should be kept low-key. Pretty Ricky's feels cute, trendy, and cool, but most importantly, offers $6 cocktails during happy hour! And a selection of bites as well. If you need a good happy hour spot on the Lower East Side, look no further.

Christina M.

Yelp
Been here for drinks on a Friday night and it was packed! Luckily we were able to snag a table in the back next to the bar. Drinks are decent the establishment itself is very large and there was a whole addition section once you started to explore with multiple bathrooms down below. I would definitely try to come back for happy hour or brunch!

Isabel L.

Yelp
Cute neighborhood spot for a nice drink. Great vibes!!! Amanita is the best bartender she's always so sweet to me

Elisa G.

Yelp
This place has a private room and you can rent it out for parties even on Saturday nights but it's only available from 8 pm-12 midnight and they won't let you set up before 7:30 pm. Other than that, it's really cool and the bartenders are AWESOME! You can order some fries and onion rings to soak up the alcohol. Lol. The minimum is 4k so invite all of your friends and party like it's 1999!! Bring your playlist and you can hook your phone up and play disco music all night long!!

JingJing X.

Yelp
We walked in on a Saturday night and were instantly able to grab a table. They turned their back room into a Halloween bar and I loved the decor and themed drinks. The drinks were well presented and tasted fine, but nothing spectacular. Our hostess was great and made sure our friend who had several allergies was able to drink the drink that he ordered.

Michelle C.

Yelp
This place has the best happy hour in the city, as far as I've experienced! We absolutely loved the fried chicken sliders, which were 2 for $6 during happy hour (M-F until 7pm). The chicken was so moist on the inside yet fried well on the outside, and the honey glaze it came with was delicious--it reminded me of a fried chicken and waffles brunch dish. I also had their half dozen oysters (also $6), and the oysters just tasted so clean and fresh (I've had some poorer quality HH oysters at other locations in the city). They had an aperol spritz as well as an espresso martini on the menu (also $6!), I didn't try the espresso martini but the aperol spritz was solid. I would definitely come back or recommend others to check out pretty ricky's for happy hour!

Tina T.

Yelp
Decent and fun spot for after work drinks. I wish they opened a little earlier for the school workers that get off at 3:30pm. Not too many bars open early in the neighborhood. Drinks are strong, servers are very attentive and they have a decent selection of food. Good happy hour menu as well.

Raj A.

Yelp
Their happy hour is such a great deal, good cocktails and their sandwiches - the chicken sandwich was so good I highly recommend it. The bar is also very clean and service is super friendly.

Tara M.

Yelp
actually one of the best bars i've been to in the city! me and my friends stumbled in there for happy hour and we were warmly greeted by the kind bartenders. the drinks were super cheap and even though our large group ordered a bunch, we barely paid anything. we stayed there awhile and they even offered us free food for our table and provided us with amazing service and accommodations. the ambiance was very chill and warm, and we felt very comfortable there. we will definitely be coming back as this was one of our favorite bars we've been to! thank you for your kindness pretty ricky's!

Dalisha P.

Yelp
From beginning to end this place was a pleasure. Our waitress Dakota was very nice. Came here with some friends because I wanted pasta and crab all in one dish. Starters we had fries, Thai wings, and oysters . Each one was sooo good. The wings were cooked to perfection. The sauce on the wings have a nice kick to it. Fries were thick cut , salted and good. Two sets of oysters raw and cooked. Some of the raw ones were a bit too big for me lol I'm a beginner at oysters , still good. Fried oysters were bomb! Before the main dish we ordered one last snack , which was the grilled artichoke. It was pretty good. Last for the food , the crab pasta was just so yummy! Small chunks of crab meat all over, fresh garlic. For dessert I ordered a drink called the roller girl , it involved lychee. The art work I'm the spot is cool. Oh around back there is another bar so there is plenty space Go visit you won't regret .

Tyler D.

Yelp
This is my go to neighborhood bar! The ambience is nice but not fussy, the music is fun, and the food and drinks are great. And their happy hour menu has drink and food specials, which is definitely a plus! I always order the french fries (definitely my favorite in the area) and the cocktail menu changes seasonally!

Jazmine G.

Yelp
Went here on a Friday night & the vibes were fun! Food was tasty & had a decent amount of options. Enjoyed their playlist it was a mix of oldies - service was a little slow but we had a good time. Planning to come back during happy hour since it looks like they have good deals from 5-7 pm on Tuesdays thru Friday.

Greg T.

Yelp
We came here just for some drinks as we waited for a friend and I'm so glad that we found it! The vibe is good, the crowd is mixed and the drinks are flowing. We got the french fries, which may be the best fries that I've ever had! They're double fried, so the crunch and flavor is absolutely amazing!

Olaedo E.

Yelp
I ran inside to use the bathroom on a Saturday night after dinner around 11 pm and ended up staying for drinks. There were other small groups inside but it wasn't packed. We (4 of us) were able to grab a table in the corner. For music, it was mostly top 40s. We ordered shots of patron and I had the cosmopolitan. It was made really well. It was strong, but enjoyable. The guys in my group ordered a couple different IPAs, which they seemed to enjoy and order more rounds of. Besides the service being a little slow, I would definitely return for a super chill vibe and good, reasonable priced drinks.

Aleksandra E.

Yelp
I enjoyed the bar area. Cool vibes, easy to relax. The pretty skilled bartender who makes great margarita and old fashioned. At that point, only vaccinated people were allowed to sit inside, though nobody was checking the certificate.

Lyndsie L.

Yelp
Really enjoyed! Wings and sandwiches were great. Fun variety of cocktail. Staff was friendly and it had fun decor. Great happy hour!

Chanda A.

Yelp
I recommended Pretty Ricky's for a group dinner last night even though I'd never been before and then immediately became nervous that it was going to be average food in a loud/crowded bar. Thankfully, the food was anything but average. We ordered the fennel salad, ricotta toast, french fries and Mac and cheese to share and everything was delicious. The Mac and cheese was so good we ordered a second helping, which I'll be working off all week. My friends also raved about the crab pasta and the prawns, but I personally didn't try either as a vegetarian. Highly recommend if you're planning a night out in the LES!

Jess B.

Yelp
went and vibes were good. wish i went for the 6$ happy hour tho. will def be back if i'm in lower east side during happy hour update went back for happy hour & had the sexiest sliders i've ever had

Charles S.

Yelp
Dope vibes, music, and service. Food was excellent! Would definitely go again. Stands out in the LES.

Bruno B.

Yelp
While it's definitely an excellent location and a good bustling vibe, the food is nothing special. You'll definitely get a reasonable meal for a reasonable price; it's a good place to start a night out but wouldn't make it my destination for the night

Kaitlyn B.

Yelp
Happy Hour Banger A few friends, a few apps, and a few $6 glasses of wine..... doesn't that sound like a delightful way to start the shenanigans?! The spot is upbeat, easy to find, and located in a sea of near by establishments, making Pretty Ricky's a focal point of disaster... I mean focal point of fun! $6 wine, $5 beer, $5 wells, $9 oysters, and a few other bar bites ranging $5-7.... Danger, danger, danger!! You may have one too many.... But With prices like that your wallet won't regret it. Mayyyyyyybe just your dignity in the morning.... And looking back on where all the debochery started, you'll know it was a great choice. Highly recommend for budget friendly feasting!

Karl G.

Yelp
busy bar but good service and experience. visited several times. Staff helpful and never without a smile.

Ang M.

Yelp
Super cool vibes. We had a party of 7 and got a cool booth. They have a solid HH menu with a good mix of drinks and food. Staff is friendly and chill. Zero attitude. We had a ton of drinks and even got a round of shots on the house as it was one of our friends birthday. Overall - highly recommend. For cocktails, wine and a good

Vaughn F.

Yelp
The Lower East Side has one of the highest densities of bars per block anywhere in the city. With so many options, picking a favorite can be tough. One visit to Pretty Ricky's will make it much easier. You like cocktails? They've got you covered with a list of rare drinks culled from the back pages of time-worn catalogues. The bartenders are also happy to oblige standard requests or mix something to match your mood. Beer? Got that too. The offerings include local favorites, regional craft delicacies, and even mass-produced mainstays like Narragansett to ensure that everyone drinks happily. Wine is also available by the glass or bottle, making this a one-stop shop for beverages of all kinds. The food menu is diverse and covers a lot of ground. Great options both for the evening date crowd and for late nights when the drunchies kick in. The front bar is typically where the party's at, while the back is a bit more sensual and vibe-focused. Music tends toward pop encompassing current hits and throwbacks from recent decades. Bring the crew or meet someone new. All are welcome at Pretty Ricky's.

Jefe D.

Yelp
A great cocktail spot to check out in lower east side area. Staff is friendly and definitely hospitable! I only had a couple of cocktails but they were all amazing! Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

Jane I.

Yelp
Mom of a toddler and ex bartender of 10 years I've been here 3+ times and. Every. Single. Time. The staff are awesome and chill with my kid and I being in some booth or some corner. We usually come during the early hours, during daylight in winter months or before 8 in spring/summer I really like this place because some spots are overpriced or not great for kids in this area, and while I wouldn't let him ever run wild, if my child is in a quiet mood, we can get a snack and some quiet time in and pack it up before their evening crowd arrives. My kid loves burgers and they have an amazing one. It's still a fast-paced environment so it helps to know what you need in advance by looking at the menu beforehand and having a card ready if you order at the bar, or know you won't be ordering anything else. Much love to this place. It's been a great stopping over spot in between hosting-family trips, getting out of the rain, post random visits to offices in Manhattan and waiting out weekend uber price surges. Love these hostesses, the staff, and everyone here.

Maya K.

Yelp
It's cute ambiance but the non-happy hour menu is blah. The chicken wings are overly sweet. The server was nice but we couldn't find anything we like on the entire menu.

Nephthalie E.

Yelp
Friends and I stopped by after having a very filling Italian dinner in little Italy. We were looking forward to a place that had open seats, good drinks, and good music. We found it ALL when we first arrived early on this particular Friday night. When you first enter, the ambiance is elegant and modern yet upbeat because of the music and amazing customer service. We immediately found several seats and our orders were taken immediately. I ordered half a dozen of oysters and one drink, no complaints. Service was lovely. It got a bit rowdy and crowded between 10-11pm which is too be expected but that was my cue to go since I got a drink spilled on me lol. Overall a good night :)

Nicole G.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and it's been good. HOWEVER, I tried to come last night and the bouncer the WORST! He didn't let me in with a fully real CA ID. Maybe get someone real at the door.

Sarah G.

Yelp
The hostess made the experience very sweet and her style was chic. The waitress was accommodating and kind. The food was great and the Mr. Bombastic drink made my night.

Jeffrey D.

Yelp
Great vibe and atmosphere my disappointment came at the end of the night when i thanked the young lady for the hospitality, gave a cash tip and pressed no tip only to see my itemized bill the next day INCLUDE another tip. the overall gratuity to the waitress was almost half of the overall bill. I'm very disappointed a great establishment would have to do that and water down the experience.

Jeff G.

Yelp
The host made several rape jokes about a shirt I was wearing towards me and my friends; made all of us feel very uncomfortable. Will not be returning here.

Jason E.

Yelp
Crowd is 26+. Good number of beers to try. I understand that Saturday nights get hectic, but at $11-12 a pint, try a little harder to be nice to customers. Didn't eat here. Probably won't considering it's $17 for a chicken sandwich and you're in the LES w/ hundreds of other great options. Really sucks that this place had to replace Spitzer's and then Grunhaus. Oh well. Pass.

Juan C.

Yelp
First time at this local well known place and it was just as good as everyone said it would be. Ordered drinks and sides, food was good service was great. Will be returning More often.

Simal S.

Yelp
Pretty Ricky's is my new favorite bar in Lower East Side. Their bartenders are very friendly and are great at making cocktails. I tried the White Lady cocktail from their Happy Hour menu and it was delicious. Definitely a go to place to meet with friends and enjoy the amazing drinks.
