Have travel here for transit, but for brief moment, it’s a beautiful airport, and big too. The building style is simple, yet beautiful. The transit not really waste time, but the immigration queue consumed some time. Have 3 hours spare until next flight, but ended up use 2 hours just for immigration, quite frustrating.. I hope it will be better in the future, it essential for comfort of passangers

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is a massive, world-class aviation hub that is both impressive and efficient. ​Infrastructure & Ambience: The airport is incredibly spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean. The architecture, especially in Terminal 2, is striking with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. Despite its huge size, navigating through the terminals is relatively easy thanks to clear signage in both Chinese and English. ​Efficiency: Check-in, security, and immigration processes are generally well-organized. While the security checks can be strict and thorough, the lines keep moving. Do keep in mind that because the terminals are so large, you should be prepared for quite a bit of walking to reach your gate. ​Dining & Amenities: There is a fantastic variety of dining options ranging from authentic Cantonese food (great for a last dim sum meal!) to international chains like Starbucks, KFC, and McDonald's. The duty-free shopping is extensive, featuring both high-end luxury brands and local souvenirs. I also appreciated the hot and cold water dispensers available throughout the terminals—a very convenient feature. ​Connectivity: Getting to the city is very convenient. The Metro (Line 3) connects directly to the airport and is the most affordable way to reach downtown Guangzhou. The taxi queues are also well-managed and sheltered. ​One tip for travelers: Accessing the free Wi-Fi can sometimes be tricky for foreigners as it often requires SMS verification or scanning your passport at a kiosk, so plan accordingly.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is modern, clean, and well organized. Immigration and security are efficient,you can do E-arrival but effectively you can do arrival card by yourself and its very easy and simple, they provide the cards and pens before the immigration gate, signage is clear in English and Chinese, and facilities are excellent. Plenty of food options, shopping, and lounges. Very good metro and transport connections to the city. A smooth and pleasant airport experience overall. This place is the forst time we ordered Didi(China Online Taxi) and they are very systematic, after you order you can go the E-hailing car park where they already wait based on parking lot number. Baiyun Airport is very traveler-friendly and easy to navigate, even for first-time visitors. Clear signs, helpful staff, affordable food options, and fast metro access to the city make it great for backpackers. Clean restrooms but for most Asians bare your mind that in China all restrooms are without bidet and mostly squatting toilet so i always bring a used mineral water bottleto clean myself after done with the poop , charging points (they use the triple triangle holes and sometimes 2 holes adaptor) you can google and search it before you go to China, and wide waiting areas add extra comfort. One of the better airports in Asia. This airport is spacious, clean, and well designed for families. Wide walkways, clean facilities, plenty of food choices, we tried of of their restaurant, we ordered Dimsum which in my opinion its the same taste as if any other Chineserestaurantsoutside of China, and organized security make traveling with children much easier. Transport into the city is straightforward and efficient. Overall, a comfortable and stress-free airport for families.

The airport is large and modern, with spacious terminals and efficient layout. However, the lounges are quite small and often crowded, with limited food options, no wine, and overall not much variety. Shops inside the airport are only average — nothing too impressive — and there isn’t much to buy compared to other major international airports. Overall, a clean and modern airport, but the lounge and retail experience still have room for improvement.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is one of the busiest and most modern airports in China. The terminal is spacious, clean, and well-organized, making navigation easy even for first-time travelers. There are plenty of dining options, from local Cantonese cuisine to international brands, and shopping areas are extensive. Immigration and security processes are generally efficient, though peak hours can get crowded. Transportation to the city is convenient with metro, taxis, and shuttle buses available. Overall, a great experience for both domestic and international travelers.

Arrived here from KLIA in November recently with some primary school classmates for a short food and sightseeing tour. Also departed from here a week later. Arrival and departure immigration clearance was reasonable, took less than an hour. On departure had a couple of hours to look around. The airport has a number of wings, all within walking distance. Quite a number of shops and restaurants around for a bit of souvenir shopping and local food options. Flew by China Southern airlines both ways. Service is not great, no pillow or blanket provided. The meals were substandard but alcoholic drinks were available.

Grand new T3 and plenty of seating/lay flat couch both landside and airside, but not enough for the overnight crowd. Some power outlet seems to be not connected lol. Security area has a scale to weight your 7kg handcarry so don't overdo it! There's a free shuttle between T1, 2 & 3 for those coming on metro as of Feb 2026. The defunct T1 is quite a spectacle too!!

Guangzhou Airport is a big and modern airport with plenty of facilities. The China Southern Lounge is really good if you’re tired — the showers are clean and perfect for freshening up during a long transit. If you want to rest, you can easily find comfortable recliner chairs near the boarding gates, which are great for a quick nap. One thing to keep in mind is that the staff can feel a bit dry and communication is difficult without translation. Make sure you have WeChat and a translation app ready because English is very limited here. Overall, it’s a good airport for long layovers with great spaces to relax.
