Guatemala Restaurant - Review - Fort Lauderdale - Miami - The Infatuation

"The sopa de res and gallina en kak’ik from Guatemala Restaurant are perfect for the days when you just want to bury your head in a big bowl of soup. The Fort Lauderdale spot is run by a Guatemalan couple who make just about any Guatemalan dish you’re craving—tamales de chipilín, rellenitos, and they even carry Sarita ice creams. This nook of a restaurant only has a handful of tables, so the to-go orders flow steadily throughout the day. But if it’s not too crowded, you should eat there and make friends with the sweet owners who might throw in an extra horchata on the house." - Mariana Trabanino

You can find the most delicious tacos at this small, local Guatemalan eatery. Always fresh, consistent, delicious, something I could eat every day. The owners are very kind, just like the staff, always happy and smiling. You also have to try their arroz con leche.

Excellent food, not to be missed. This is a small restaurant in a small strip plaza serving delicious food! Tacos and chicken soup for me tonight, could not be better. 🙂

Great food and service!! Everything was fresh and felt so homemade and authentic. I’ve been looking for Guatemalan food in south Florida and I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Parking isn’t the best but it’s so worth it. I ordered the cheese and mixta pupusa and my mom ordered the churrasco meal.

I love those places where you just walk in and feel like you stepped into your grandmother’s house… This is one of those places: the “marimba” music in the background, the wonderful smells of the food and the warmth of the smile behind d the counter that welcomes you as if they’ve known you all your life. It’s a quaint little place that will transport you back to Guatemala with the first bite you take.

Ate here today. The inside was packed, but the outside seating was perfect. The food was great and reasonably priced. The heuvos rancheros were excellent, so good I didn't even get a photo. Enjoyed the breakfast so much I got a beef soup to go. Will definitely be back.

Legit Latin American foodie experience. We got the al pastor and chorizo tacos, the fried fish and the spicy red chicken, all hits. The frita pescado was incredible, strongly recommend! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Locals flock here so you know you're in the right spot. PS: they hide the good salsa roja in the back, ask for it or tell them you want the really spicy sauce

I was traveling from out of state and chose this place soon after I landed due to it being a Guatemalan Restaurant, food I grew up eating and haven't had in a while. This restaurant is small inside, seating only six individuals max, but don't let that deter you! The food is delicious, with fair prices and ample serving size. The team working there is very lovely (yes, they speak English) and kind; for example I was gifted some bread from I believe the manager after we exchanged some kind words about the food and where I was from. The food is very much worth it, with the only unfavorable aspect being how small the inside is, but please do not let that cloud your judgement! Enjoy some great, tasty food!
