Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken Review - Downtown Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"One of the best - and more affordable - ways to start a night that ends at Tabernacle is with the 20-piece family meal from Gus’s. Pair it with sides like baked beans and slaw, and get way more mac and cheese than you think you need, it’s going to go fast. Then make the less than 10-minute walk over to the show, or take the long way if you need a few more minutes on your feet." - Neal Cohen

Gus’s is one of a kind! It was my first time, and the staff let me know most items have a spicy kick — even the kids’ meals. I went with the tenders, which weren’t too spicy, and they were perfectly crispy with a unique crust. The beans and mac and cheese hit the spot. Great food, great vibes. I’ll be back!

This Gu's World Famous Fried Chicken is our go-to place when we crave fried chicken. The thin crust, yet crispy, hot and fresh fried chicken whose juice bursts into your mouth, nothing surpasses that.

I am not one to write bad reviews for places, but for the $35 I spent on dinner, I was expecting better. The chicken tasted like it was cooked in oil that had gone bad. And the texture was rubbery in some parts. I also got the corn nuggets, which I would have preferred a little less breading, but all in all those were good. Truly disappointed in the chicken, specifically for a FRIED CHICKEN restaurant. I had heard some people tell me not to go here before… and I should have listened

Where do I begin! I'm from Chicago and was looking for some good fried chicken and mild sauce. 😊 First of all, the parking sucks. There is no where to park. Then you go inside to find their ridiculously priced menu. Nonetheless, I was trying to support a black owned business. We ordered our food and it took forever to come out. We even made jokes amongst ourselves about the cook going in the back to catch the chicken. So, we get our food only to discover several issues. #1 The chicken was undercooked. We sent it back and the second batch tasted spoiled. #2 The sides tasted like it was from cans and boxes. The mac n cheese tasted like boxed Velveeta. The greens tasted like Glory greens from the can. The beans tasted like pork n beans from the can or Busch. That was a debate at the table because I think Busch had a little more quality taste to them. All in all, the worst experience for a fried chicken restaurant. It definitely wasn't worth the money. I hope they were just having a bad day and this isn't their every day quality. Good luck if you choose to don't there!!!

I worked near this location 2 years ago and would frequently eat there for lunch, on the way home, or even drive over on weekends... and the food was great! Fast forward to my last 4 visits over a 1 year span the food has been HORRIBLE! The chicken is overcooked, hard, and dry. I used to looove the chicken and would say it's THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN I'VE EVER HAD! It's so sad how the quality has gone down. The sides have not been flavorful and it's been one disappointment after the other. I chose to spread my visits out due to the lack of satisfaction hoping that when I returned the food would get better but sadly I don't plan on going back.

Google
My eating experience was pretty good. The service was good. It was a friendly and clean atmosphere. The only thing I felt was the chicken was fried too hard. The greens were tasty.

Google
This chicken is juicy, seasoned enough. The Mac and cheese was phenomenal! The baked beans are sweet and cooked well. Upon on first appearance the chicken looked dark, not the golden brown I was expecting. However, it tastes better than it looked. Server was thoughtful, polite and attentive. I would definitely dine here again.

So since we arrived to Dragoncon on Wednesday we have passed by Gus's famous chicken several times, I decided to treat the family. The wait time was about 15 minutes which is not bad at all. We were seated and our drink order was taken which is nice. The food was great. Just the right amount of heat for us. I ordered the 2 piece dark meat platter that comes with Cole slaw, baked beans and white bread. I also ordered a side of mac n cheese. Side of fries and side of potato salad. The food was great. Our server was great too. Where I was disappointed was when my son went to the restroom, another patron came to ask if the empty chair was taken, we said yes and it was ok but when an employee just grabs my son's chair and starts dragging it away without even asking. That kind of ruined my dinner. So thats why I gave it 4 stars. Other than thar it would have been a nice first time experience.

Yelp
Was here twice in 3 days! Service was very good, friendly staff and speedy service. The fried chicken is really good! It's crispy outside yet moist inside. Also not salty at all. Ambiance is very cozy and nice. Will come again!

Yelp
Superrr delicious! Very possibly the best fried chicken ("ALL hot") in Atlanta. This was my first time here, so I would like to come back to try it a few more times, but we ordered a combination of chicken tenders and thighs. It was extremely delicious! The prices are a little bit expensive, but we appreciated their daily specials-- as well as their willingness to sub out their sides of beans and slaw for fries or other side sides. They were quite busy, so we waited in line a while -- which I don't mind-- but once I got to the counter, I felt like the service was a little bit rude. I excitedly stated that I have never been here before and had a few questions. He cut me off, asserting, "yah yah everything here is cooked in Peanut Oil and is spicy hot," which had nothing to do with what I was going to ask. The ambience is very rustic and no frills-- considering the prices of the food these days, it would be nice if the inside was a little bit more upscale. I'm happy for the no-frills aesthetic if the price was no-frills level. I'm excited to come back and try some more of their sides!

Yelp
Amazing service. And as always, the Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken did not disappoint. Great place for a business lunch or a family. Prices are decent considering quality of the food and the portion sizes. (About 13-15 for two pieces of chicken and two heaping sides.) Great dessert and a truly southern tea. Oh, and it is diagonally across the street from a great charity's thrift store:SVDP.

Yelp
I've been here previously. It's been awhile when I had my Dodge Challenger before I got hit and my car got totalled. I went on 1/31/2025 just to get something to eat. No lunch at work so I was hungry. I got a 2pc dark snack. I also got a chicken sandwich for the first time. My side was fries with the sandwich. I also got a side of fried okra because it's fresh tasting and delicious. I had the 2 sides before. This chicken is hot and spicy. It's good even though for the most I always get original and mild chicken at other places. No option here only spicy and hot. The chicken was crunchy previously.Only location I visited. My fries tasted plain not seasoned.
google avatar

Greg K.

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times now and it is pretty good. I like the chicken. It has a little bit of heat but is not really hot. It has a good flavor and crunch. The beans are great and the okra is not bad. But the place is pretty touristy. It does not seem to cater to locals as much as visitors and the prices are pretty high. A two piece meal which is what I got today is $13.50. That seems awful high to me, but I am use to the $1.99 special at church's. Both times I have been here the chicken was just a bit overcooked. That's better than undercooked every day if the week, but a little tough and dry at the same time. 3 stars from me. It's ok but I had higher hopes.

Yelp
Second visit to this location. Restaurant was moderately filled for lunch. Only one server for the restaurant so things were running a bit slow. Also, took 25 minutes to get the food once ordered, but the chicken was served hot and juicy. I got the two-piece white plate, which comes with one breast and one wing. The wing had to be one of the tiniest chicken wings I had ever seen. Definitely get the three-piece as it comes with two breasts and a wing. As with most restaurants, prices have gone up considerably: $15.50 for a two-piece plate (up 50% from apx 2 1/2 years ago).

Yelp
Sign on side of business has been busted for a while so I was curious what shape the interior was in. Overall the atmosphere could use some work The entry way signage is very convenience store - there's not a hostess stand so there's not a sense of place. There could be a dessert case or something there to greet you. The 'bar' is a lost opportunity really and the bar chairs need replacing. Prices could come down. Food was fine. Sweet tea made my teeth fall out it was so sweet! Came in at 2 on a Saturday and was kinda quiet. The single waiter for the entire restaurant was very friendly.
google avatar

Ray F.

Yelp
Everything was good. The staff, the food, the atmosphere! I think I found the recipe for a good trip to Gus's; do not go on the weekend! I went during lunch on a weekday and the place was not crowded. The staff was able to be more personal able with everyone.

Yelp
So I did not know that there was a Gus's So close and I immediately jumped on it! I've been a couple of times and I have no regrets. So this spot specifically it's kind of tucked away because unless you know where you're going you won't run across it while you're driving randomly. It's at the end of a road that you wouldn't normally go to all willy-nilly. But it's so worth it. You get the same services if you were downtown or the one on Roswell road. This one is pretty cool, it has a number receipts there and plenty of window view so you get some sun if you come on a nice day. Space should not be an issue at all. The food is solid. The food is always been solid. I have no issues with that. I may get the dark piece combo or maybe get the chicken tenders, but it's always a hit to me! The greens are pretty good, they're not what your grandma made but they are a pretty good. The fries, or their french fries. fries are a little hard to judge because if they've sat in a carry out box for too long they'll start to get soggy because of the condensation so I hate to hold that against them but when you get them fresh they are good. Good crunch to them, salted and season just like they need to be. Potato salad was actually pretty decent too honestly. I have no complaints about that as well. I wouldn't get on a regular, but it was good. Gus's hasn't missed. When I first got down here I lived in Sandy springs and there was one like 5 mi away and I was there at least 3 days a week. I'm not going to do that this time because I found this little hidden tucked away gem but at the same time, maybe lol. Definitely go and give it a shot! Chicken's good, has the right amount of flavor and right amount of crunch, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I like Gus's spicy fried chicken once in a while. Actually, I would eat fried chicken more often but well that's not possible, lol lol I had the two thigh plus one drumstick portion with slaw and beans. Gus's chicken is hot crispy and really what one would expect for southern fried chicken. The sides were both good and service was excellent considering other staff did not show up. Our guy was running fast and did a great job with a good attitude. Gus's is on the regular rotation when I want some excellent fried chicken.

Yelp
Gus Fried Chicken is tucked away at 5486 Peachtree Rd Chamblee, GA 30341. Their Health Score was 91-A as of July 10, 2023. We enjoyed their delicious spicy fried chicken that was crispy and made to order. For our sides we enjoyed collard greens, baked beans and fried okra which were all severed hot and fresh. We also indulged on their fried pickles served with ranch dressing for our appetizer which was equally delicious. Gee, our waiter provided great service with a smile. He also speaks Spanish which is a plus. The ambiance was moderate with music piping through their speakers. I would definitely recommend this location for lunch or dinner. If your in a hurry call ahead to place your to go order to save on wait time. Enjoy!!!

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Staff is nice. Place uses disposable cutlery, glasses, straws and just creates a mound of trash can't support that sort of business.

Kendra W.

Yelp
Every time I come to this location the food is always hot, fresh, and my waitress cee-cee has great customer service. Cee-cee is polite, courteous, and always makes sure I'm taking care of. The food is yummy and it's always so peaceful when I come. I've been patronizing this location on & off for years. This is some of the best chicken in Atlanta and that's why I love coming here.
google avatar

Niaz P.

Yelp
This place is a casual chicken spot. It satisfies the craving for fried chicken. I wish it were a bit crunchier. The mac and cheese is really nice and gooey. The fries were great too. It's not much variety on flavors but you can pick pieces of chicken you want.

Yelp
got a chance to try Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken in Chamblee, and it was quite the experience. When my plate first came out, I have to admit, I was a little skeptical--the chicken looked a bit dry at first glance. But let me tell you, it did not taste dry at all. The crispy skin was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice, and the meat inside was incredibly juicy and flavorful. I originally ordered a leg and a thigh but ended up with two breasts and a leg instead. Honestly, it wasn't what I expected, but the flavor more than made up for it, so no complaints there. The leg was especially tender, and the tenders I tried were just as good--you could tell they were freshly hand-breaded and not frozen. The dipping sauce paired perfectly and brought everything together. The staff was super friendly, and the food came out fresh and hot. If you love fried chicken and you're in the area, Gus's is definitely worth checking out!
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
It's not the same! Unsure if all the area locations have fell Off or just this store! The chicken is bland, overcooked and just plain Nasty! I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but....the outcome was the same! I'm unsure if Gus is still living but they need to put some respect on his name! Waste of gas and money! Disappointed and hungry!
google avatar

Joyita B.

Yelp
If you are looking for that quintessential southern fried chicken that tastes like homemade stuff, this is it. Normally I am skeptical about having greasy food but when you gonna do something wrong, you gotta do it right! This isn't fancy, it's basic and fabulously so. I love the ambience it's clean and inviting without trying. The service was fast and the chicken was satisfactory. The sides, I recommend the baked beans, fries and their mac&cheese.
google avatar

Shawn M.

Yelp
Horrible horrible service! Came in 840 they close at 9 said to go only with an attitude I asked what time they stop done in and he said with an attitude like 820 as he was serving a table some dine in food at 845. Lost my local business forever and I'll tell all of Chamblee as well.
google avatar

Nicholas J.

Yelp
I was very disappointed in coming here. I ate at multiple locations all over the US and I'd have to say this is the worst one. I got a three-piece white meat and I don't know how do you get overcooked dry chicken mac & cheese with ice cold french fries were stale and I was there at 1 o'clock makes no sense,

Dan D.

Yelp
The chicken & fries was really good. The Mac & cheese was cool & the greens was a little over cooked but had good flavor. I had took home a piece of chicken & put it in the air fryer this morning & it was just as good, that's not common. Lol The cashier/ waiter was really nice & attentive, a can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Donny V.

Yelp
Not sure what happened, but the quality here has gone down over the past year. The chicken is way overcooked. With what this place costs, I'd expect better.
google avatar

Len L.

Yelp
This was some good chicken. I had the white meat chicken on the bone plate with fries and beans and a side of pickles. The pickles are batters chips with a side of ranch. I prefer the spears for a better pickle to batter ratio but these were tasty and not over coated. The chicken was well cooked, almost too cooked, but juicy and tasty. Fries are semi- steak fries and pretty good. Service was quick and friendly. I'd for sure go back!
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick lunch with a friend. He told me it's his favorite fried chicken restaurant and I have to agree. The chicken was nice and crispy and you can taste the flavor in the meat as well. Most fried chicken places you can taste the spicyness on the skin only. I loved my sides which was fried okra and Mac and cheese. I can't wait to go back and try others.

Daniel S.

Yelp
Amazing service by Christian and great food! The chicken and pie were A1 and the music was soulful
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
Went here for a quick and casual dinner, and got it. Feels like it should be counter service inside but is in fact sit down. The menu is pretty much limited to chicken and sides, so I was disappointed that the chicken only came at 1 spiciness level. I'd say the heat level was mild, so I added hot sauce myself, and I definitely think they could amp up the menu by simply increasing the options for heat in the chicken. The fried chicken was tasty and crispy though not the best I've ever had. For sides I had fries and mac and cheese. Both were good, the mac better than your average bbq joint does it so I was pretty happy with it. I would go back if I'm looking for a specific kind of meal, but not in a hurry.
google avatar

Jeaneia Z.

Yelp
Food is always good. Their chicken taste the same every time so you know what your getting. It has the perfect mix or spice and flavor. Crunchy skin. The Mac is decent. Greens aren't my favorite. I always add a little vinegar & salt to enjoy them. The baked beans are great! If the service was better it would be better. Your always waiting for a very long time to get your food & the service is terrible. The atmosphere is always cool.
google avatar

Ericka-Denise N.

Yelp
So for an update: We did indeed go back here today, and the food was just as good as yesterday! This time I got the 2 piece breast and wing, collards and mac n cheese and a order of fried green tomatoes!! They were INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS...and "crunchy-unchy" just how I like em'!! I will mos. def. be coming back when I'm in this area again...which is quite often! Highly Recommended! Go get you some Gus's good ol' famous fried chicken! YAAY!!
google avatar

William M.

Yelp
Wow! Search my reviews - Fried Chicken and BBQ are a couple of my passions... I'd been waiting to try Gus's until I was down here and was NOT DISAPPOINTED. Chicken's the reason so I ordered a Thigh to Go to check it out - it came out in a few minutes hot, fresh, and tasty. I was half-expecting to take a bite and finish later, but as soon as I took a bite in the parking lot I devoured the whole piece...the juice you see in the "bones" photo is NOT GREASE...it's the tender flavour from the chicken. If I'd had some white bread with me I would've soaked it up in a heartbeat. I can't wait for my next trip to Atlanta!

Yelp
This review is for take-out only. The restaurant is open for dine-in, but we got our food to go due to coronavirus. We were surprised that out of the two customer-facing employees, only one was wearing a mask. The tables were 6 feet apart and they had every other seat at the bar occupied. We got fried pickles (just under $7), 8-piece chicken ($23.95), mac and cheese ($4.40), and fries ($3.85), which came out to a total of $42. We definitely could've gone with 4- or 6-piece chicken, because we had a lot left over (and they gave us 2 extra pieces!). The fried pickles and mac and cheese were delicious. The fries, however, were not crispy at all and they had no salt. I will never get the fries again. The chicken was warm, tender, and perfectly fried. I do wish there was some seasoning on the chicken though. The four stars are for the fries and the price. $42 seems high for what we got.
google avatar

Iris A.

Yelp
The most delicious fried chicken I've ever tasted. You ruined me for all the others. Now nothing and no one will ever compare to yours. Just keep your napkins near. You are going to need them. No way to eat this nice and neatly with a knife and fork, only your hands will do.
google avatar

Todd C.

Yelp
The chicken was hot and perfectly cooked. Spicy but not overpowering! Will definitely go back!
google avatar

Sarah J.

Yelp
My husband and I eat here at least once a month and we love it. This restaurant is located in downtown Chamblee, within walking distance to the brewery and Frosty Caboose. We always order the same meal. I get the chicken tenders with mac n cheese and coleslaw. My husband orders the three piece dark with mac n cheese and french fries. We have noticed the food and service is the best when the owner is there.
google avatar

Il Youn S.

Yelp
This is my first time at Gus. The food was so good. Chicken was Crispy, tender, flavorful, and tasty!. I personally enjoyed to eat with out hot sauce. Chicken itself-have big bold flavors. Must try Fried green tomatoes were delicious as was the fried orca. Coleslaw was very fresh made, macaroni and cheese was very creamy it was ok. This is not a health food spot and I don't think there is anything "good for you" on the menu but everything was delicious. The space is larger than I expected. The table was a little sticky, but the restaurant have cozy atmosphere. Servers are very friendly.
google avatar

Edward S.

Yelp
Chicken was drier than the Sahara desert. If you're going to serve chicken that has been under heat lamps for a few hours, at least throw in some extra sides as I'm hangry. The sad part this used to be a great spot for fried chicken but now it's sub par. The server saw we left the untouched chicken and still charged the full price after raising it was dry.
google avatar

Joshua K.

Yelp
I have been to this location a couple times when in the area and needed something fast/quick. There is always ample parking and usually this location is not too busy as compared to some of the others. The service at this location has been very good to me. The wait staff has been very friendly/observant, food has come out v.quickly and the chicken has been fresh fried and delicious. This is a good choice if you are hungry for some southern styled comfort food at a great price.

Carol G.

Yelp
When I lived in Memphis I would ONLY go to the original Gus's downtown. There's a reason there was a line out the door almost all day. Their fried chicken was the BEST I had ever had. After I moved to South Carolina, it was one of the restaurants I truly missed. Now, 18 years later I find out that there's a location about an hour & a half away in Georgia, so I was excited to say the least. All I can say is that the fried chicken was good but not as phenomenal as the original in Memphis. The sides were average (slaw & fries). The service was lack luster at best. But the place was clean & we finished our plates. I certainly wouldn't drive 3 hours round trip to this location again. But it did make me want to visit Memphis- at least one more time for truly- world famous fried chicken.
google avatar

Craig T.

Yelp
I been wanting to try this place for sometime. I finally came in for take out as I had to run back to work. It was quite busy in here on a Friday night. I ordered the 4-ct chicken tenders. They came out in a reasonably fashion. The tenders were huge! It also came with 2 toasted bread. The tenders had a nice spicy flavor to it. I also dipped it in some home made honey mustard which was super tasty. I highly recommend this place if your in the mood for some chicken. Be aware, the prices are quite high so be ready to spend some money. :)
google avatar

Keila A.

Yelp
I work close by and always get great service. If I know I'm going to order from them I call a few minutes before noon because they get very busy! The chicken is great and best Mac and cheese.
google avatar

Thomas S.

Yelp
Awesome chicken Amazing Fried Green Tomatoes Excellent Fried Pickle Spears The story of Gus's is a phenomenon of fried chicken culture and they still do it well long after the colonel was kicked to the curb. This is the antithesis of greasy church's fried chicken, and far exceeds what you could ever expect from other chicken places. They don't make a chicken sandwich, but if they did it would kick the chicken crap out of all those other pretenders!
google avatar

Marsha-Lee C.

Yelp
This spot has the best friend chicken I've ever eaten in a long while. The chicken was juicy and fresh down to the last bite . The skin has the perfect crisp. It also has a spicy taste. The collard greens was very delicious and didn't taste like it was from the can . It had a nice flavor . The macaroni and cheese and French fries was good as well. They are open for dine in and have Covid precautions in place with social distancing and they have enforced mask wearing . The customer service was good as well. The overall experience was good. It's definitely a must visit place if you're in the area .

Yelp
I thought Gus's to be one of my favorite fried chicken chains from Memphis until I realized that hot chicken exists. Even so, another location closer to home didn't hurt! The stress of getting to the Peachtree Center location is just too much. Parking is fine. Cramped and tight but enough to find a park. I love Gus's menu. It's simple. Fried chicken and sides. That's all you need. We had 5 people so we decided to order 16 piece dark special because dark meat is king. The fried chicken has thin and crispy skin with a light kick to it, but not overly so. The fried okra is hot and crispy, the mac and cheese is legit and the seasoned fries are alright. They weren't as seasoned as we thought they would be. The white bread that came with the special seemed unnecessary since there was no sauce or anything on it. Overall, Gus's has some of the best fried chicken I've had. There are comparable out there for sure, but for some reason I'm not here all the time like I am with Popeyes..
google avatar

Morgan M.

Yelp
I was duper excited to try gus's but was very disappointed. The chicken tenders were fresh but all of the sides my table ordered tasted old and reheated. Not fresh. Someone ordered the 3 piece wing at my table, they arrived very little meat, small wings and looked burnt. All of the sides were not fresh, everything was horrible except for the tenders which were actually fresh and they were good, but everything else was horrible.. Avoid this location at least?
google avatar

Mary Beth L.

Yelp
I'd give this 4.5 if it would let me. Good fried chicken and traditional sides in a charming space in the cute part of Chamblee. Great for families in a chicken finger child-related rut who want to dine out or anyone who is hungry. Service was friendly and fast. Stop in for a bite mid-antiqueing.

Yelp
3 piece Dark with macaroni and baked beans Chicken was excellent! Great breading, hot and spicy. Macaroni not flavored.. beans, taste like canned beans.. not bad. Collard Greens, a bit dry and flavorless. Overall I would come back for the chicken for sure !!

Deborah G.

Yelp
Kim was such a lovely lady who served my food. I travel to Atlanta once per year for work and I eat here everytime. The chicken greens and mac and cheese are the best.
google avatar

Julia S.

Yelp
I ordered Uber eats fried chicken with Mac and cheese and fries and i got the Mac and cheese and fries and no chicken. How the heck do you miss the main entree?!? Were you even paying any attention to what you were putting in the box? Very disappointed oh and the fries are soggy with no seasoning...gross Update...the manager has reached out to me to correct this issue and provided a gift card to make up for this mistake, it was a very pleasant surprise. I will be giving Gus's another try :)

Yelp
"Tonight's special is chicken fingers. They come with curly fries, and a free ice cream shaped like a clown." -- The Suite Life of Zack & Cody: Season 1 | Episode 22 Gus's I do love you, but this is definitely my least favorite location. It does not seem to matter the time of the day, or the day of the week. The service seems slow and the service leaves a lot to be desired. I will say that the food still has the same great Gus's quality. The chicken is delicious, crispy, spicy, and still very juicy. But I am less likely to come here due to the service, the wait and the fact that there are other much better locations around the city.

Yelp
Most Gus's locations have fantastic food and service. Not the case with this location. They cut their chicken into much smaller pieces than is normal for most Gus's and fried chicken restaurants. Thighs are essentially half portions and are very small. The food itself is tasty as all Gus's locations are -- it's just very small for the price. I ordered pick up through door dash. They did not put out in the order until after It was supposed to be ready. Ultimately it was about 45 min late. When I asked person working the register why was causing the delay, she was very rude - to the point where the manager (I assume he was the manager) had to come say something to her. I'm hoping it was an isolated incident. I strongly recommend going to a different Gus's location.

Yelp
My 4 stars is for the chicken! We stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon. It wasn't too busy. The service was great. I didn't catch the name of the woman who served us, but she was friendly and attentive. We ordered a two piece white chicken plate and a 3 piece dark plate. Each plate is served with a slice of white bread and beans and slaw. If you want to switch out your sides it's $0.50 extra per side. we opted to get fries with one plate and mac and cheese and potato salad with the second plate. The chicken is really good. Very crispy and spicy on the outside. And super moist on the inside. The fries were nothing too special. But still good. The mac and cheese and potato salad we're just not really my cup of tea. I know these two sides can be a big deal in the South. But for my liking the potato salad was a bit too sweet for me. The mac and cheese came out with some finely shredded cheese on top. But to be completely honest the mac and cheese was not hot at all just above warm. Again the service was amazing and I wasn't going to complain over such a small thing. Not when the chicken was so good. I would definitely come back for the chicken. But maybe next time I would stick to the beans and slaw. I also forgot that there was dessert on the backside of the menu. I definitely want to try one of the pies next time.
