Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

An eclectic atmosphere with a warm feeling. This is a nice brick building with a chicken motif. I ordered a 2 piece dark Chicken plate with a drink ($16). The chicken was delicious. It was slightly sweet and that offset the spiciness of the fried chicken. The spiciness was not overpowering in any way. It only added to the flavor. It was juicy and cooked perfectly. The plate comes with baked beans and coleslaw and both were delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. You order up at the counter and they call your name when it's ready. Overall an easy 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely. I'm not sure the next time I will be in the area, however I may have to make a trip just for this!

The food was great, but spare enough time if you want to dine in. It took 1.5 hours for them to bring the fried chicken to our table, which was not the one we ordered. Then it took them 2 minutes to have the correct one ready. We understand it was busy and hot and we came in the time when chiefs were switching. But at least we thought the service should take orders, whoever comes first should be served first. It was not a very pleasant experience for us, especially seeing a party of six who came in one hour later than us got all their food way earlier than us.

Well damn if it isn't done of the best fried chicken I've had. Their claim is it's world's best, and I'd but be pressed to find much competition. Even a fries and okra, we're absolutely delicious.

BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH!! It is so juicy and perfectly seasoned with a hint of spice. Their coleslaw and Mac and cheese are also amazing and go great as sides!

The worst Guss’s and I’ve been to all of them. This was supposed to be 2 piece white with potato salad and beans. This is Detroit though. I should have known. Live and learn.

First of all, I waited over 30mins. The food tasted good. It deserves a 4 star but waiting over 30mins for fried chicken ain’t cute.

If you’re in the area I’d suggest stopping by . Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere. Food is even better. Every side was great. Mac and cheese and fried pickles especially. My wife loved her greens and potato salad. All the chicken dark meat and tenders were great. Hope to be in the area again to be able to stop by again. J.T was our server and was very kind . Appreciate the spot

Every thing was on point! Our waiter JT was great and took great care of us. Will definitely be back!
