A Guide To LA Restaurants Going Viral On TikTok Right Now

"Verdict: A sad excuse for an izakaya. Even if you’re looking for somewhere “vibey,” this is a third-tier option. We had high hopes for this Echo Park Japanese spot from the HiroNori people, with its paper lamps and moody red lighting. But after stepping through the PVC flaps dangling in the doorway, things took a turn for the worse. The cramped bar feels like a bad parody of a “cool Japanese drinking den,” with speakers blasting obnoxious techno music while clichéd samurai films play on mute behind the L-shaped bar. And despite its name, there are only two kinds of gyoza on the menu (both underwhelming). The pork ones are slightly better than the bland vegan option, but neither are an improvement over the much less expensive ones you’d find in the frozen aisle at the supermarket." - sylvio martins, brant cox, nicolas zhou

Loved the food! I wish i had gotten our servers name because he was so cool and chill! And had the best recommendations! It was def a great dining experience where the service was really chill but really great! The music was also really good! The dipping noodles were sooooooo tasty! Can’t wait to go back

Google
A friend of mine found this place on instagram and wanted to try it out. The food was very average. Nothing overwhelmingly delicious and we probably will not come back. The restaurant is very very small but it was not at all busy on a Saturday for lunch. Service was good. Price was okay but then the dishes are very small. The gyoza was not special at all. The most tasty dish was the crispy rice with spicy tuna. Everything else was just not memorable.

It feels like a ramen counter straight from tokyo. The crimson glow lighting. The bar-only seating. You won’t find extra flourishes, just well executed staples. From every staff member, service is swift and polite. The pork gyoza arrives crisp-bottomed and sizzling with a juicy filling that’s both savory and soothing. The tsukemen dipping noodles are cool, firm, and deeply enjoyable. These noodles are meant to be dipped into a heady broth, a blend of heat and warmth. Like a ritual: you dip, you slurp until nothing remains. The crispy rice with spicy tuna seemingly never disappoints with this one exhibiting genuinely spicy, fresh jalaneño. The well-spiced ground pork in the bean sprouts with spicy pork complements the fresh snap of sprouts and the subtle sharpness of leek. Finally, the buckwheat tea. Healthful wonderfully aromatic brew that is entirely gluten-free despite its misleading name. Ultimately, the restaurant delivers on its promise: an excellent journey into precise, authentic japanese flavors.

Google
I had the privilege to visit this establishment recently and with that being said, I was expecting to be blown away by the Gyoza, but instead I was pulled in by the pork belly and noodles instead. The atmosphere inside is great and the service was well overall. The rice on the other hand was very sad, especially being paired with such great pork. My overall experience was okay, but honestly for the quality of the food not worth the price in my opinion. Buy give it a try if your searching something a little different.

Google
Small bar like restaurant with great energy. Staff was good about seating everyone comfortably throughout dinner. We had 1 of each item on the dinner menu. Pork gyoza, yuzu salmon sashimi, and spicy tuna-crispy rice were my favorites. Highly recommend making a reservation because only 15-18 guests can be seated at a time. We will return for sure.

Google
A perfect night out in echo park would start here - line your stomach with yummy gyoza, sashimi, a rice or noodle dish, the spicy tuna crispy rice FOR SURE and pair with a sake or beer - then go out on the town and drink more! Or simply come especially on a weeknight for good vibes and great food. The red light is very flattering for a date night and so is the cozy seating.

Google
Wonderful evening at the Gyoza Bar, small setting, yet the originality of their creations sparked my taste buds! I enjoyed the cold tofu with chili oil, savory in crunchy green onions and mixed kaiware sprouts with a dash of bonito dashi! My favorite main dish so far was the pork rice bowl, simmering pork belly added with a poached egg it’s paired nicely with a refreshing cucumber mint yuzunade!

Google
The best pork bowl i ever eat!! Gyoza is really good too. Attendant was very nice :)

Yelp
It is very small and tightly packed, BUT the ambiance was great, and the service was also great. I never had to wait on them and they checked in just enough to make sure we were good, I would return, I just wish it was bigger so I can bring a group of friends !!
google avatar

Yelp
Expect to wait, only 13 seats inside but well worth it. You sit around the bar under dim lighting. The service is excellent. Very kind staff. The pork gyoza is insane 10/10 omg so so good!! They go off. Perfect. A MUST TRY. Dipping noodles 9/10 you mix the poached egg into the noodles first with squeeze of lemon then dip into the broth Loved our experience. Will 1000000% return.

Yelp
The food was ok. Nothing stood out and made me think it was special or had me coming back for more. They all tasted fine but nothing really matched my palette. Felt like everything needed a little bit of acid to make the flavors come out. Additionally for a place called gyoza bar, I am disappointed that there were only two gyoza flavors. It would be nice if they focused more on the gyoza by offering many different types, including new takes on the food format.

Yelp
Semi hidden gyoza bar, there is a main lobby inside where you can join the waitlist or order Togo if necessary. We ordered: - vegan gyoza - pork gyoza - pork bowl - salmon sashimi - lemon sour My fav had to be the vegan gyoza which is actually surprising....my least fav was the lemon sour. Service was good but not amazing? Manager was super nice but the other workers were kinda whatever. Parking is on the backstreet by the houses, rarely any street parking because the area is popular for restaurants
google avatar

Lucila S.

Yelp
Got here on a Saturday afternoon. I like that they provide the option to join the waitlist as the place is very small inside. Took a while to find parking (drove around twice and found a spot in the parking lot where the coffee shop is). Ordered the pork Gyoza and pork Rice bowl. The gyoza wasn't particularly flavorful although it was crispy. Had high hopes as it's called gyoza bar. The rice bowl was pretty good, and the pork was cooked perfectly. I tried a piña colada and I really enjoyed it! The place has a nice intimate vibe. I wouldn't come again though as I can find better gyoza options closer to home. Note: They have two restrooms inside.

Yelp
Love this place! It's kind of small (literally a bar with maybe 10 seats max) and can get really busy. Even then they still have a standing bar (no wait usually) which can be a cute vibe too! I didn't really try any of the drinks but of the few sips I had they were tasty. A bit expensive but not entirely unworth. The food is what I really came for. We tried the Gyoza (4/5) - well cooked and flavored but nothing that stood out. Still worth trying Tsukemen (5/5) - delicious and well cooked. The noodles are so bouncy and the sauce is really flavorful. It can also be a portion for 2! Pork belly bowl (4/5) - loved how fatty and thick it was. Cold tofu (6/5) - MY FAVORITE DISH HERE. Went back once just to get it. Such strong flavors and really nice crunch that you can't get anywhere else
google avatar

Yelp
This place is sooo vibey and perfect for a date night. It's pretty small inside so it feels more intimate. Upon walking in, we got seated quickly and our food came out super quick too. I love how the menu is pretty straight forward - it makes it easier to pick and you know it's good! We tried the Pork Gyoza, Cold Tofu with Chili Oil, and Tsukemen Dipping Noodle (so flavorful and so good - this was my fave!!). Gyoza was so good and it should be illegal to skip out on gyoza at a gyoza bar hahaha Parking is rough (expected in LA/this area) but you can find street parking if you're lucky and I promise the tsukemen dipping noodle is sooo worth it.
google avatar

Kalie H.

Yelp
The ambiance was great! Loved the music & the vibe! Didn't take long to get seated & we were able to join the waitlist before arriving. If is smaller than I expected, but definitely worth trying.

Yelp
Decided to stop by since I was in the area and been seeing post about Gyoza bar online and knew I had to try them. I was had just ate but made room to try out their yuzu piña colada, spicy tuna on crispy rice and of course the pork gyoza. The piña colada was so refreshing, the spicy tuna on crispy rice is a perfect two bites, and the pork gyoza were crispy and juicy. The place itself is small with just bar seating and standing room. Service was very quick and everything came out hot and delicious. I want to come back again with an empty stomach so I can try more food next time. Until then!

Yelp
My friend and I were looking for a place nearby to eat in Silverlake and found this place. It's kind of inconspicuous since it's a small place and it's not like there is a big sign outside but if you see a red exterior with gyozas then you're in the right place. At first, I thought it was closed but it's because I pulled the door instead of pushing it... Anyways, the inside is small and has a bar setting so you just take a seat on the bar. There are hooks underneath the table for the ladies to hang their bags. It was pretty dim inside so it was nice to chill when it was sunny outside. I don't recommend coming here with big parties since it would be too cramped. Because of the small space, it makes it easier for the staff be more attentive of our needs. I ordered the tsukemen dipping noodles since I've always wanted to try eating tsukemen. It was very flavorful as the noodles meshed well with the fish broth.

Yelp
An edgy, funk speakeasy vibe. Dimly lit restaurant with only bar seating. Very small space. Walkways are a one person path. The restaurant is fitting with the neighborhood. They offer 4 main dishes you can choose from: vegetable or pork gyoza, ramen, or pork bowl. If you're a frequent visitor of echo park or into the hipster/artsy crowd I would suggest y'all to check this place out at least once. The taste of the food was bland and the egg and mushiness of the rice didn't blend well together. Food was not tasty at all especially for the price. Service is okay and standard. Pretty attentive with needing sauces or water. The only odd thing I found was when checking out and paying with card, the option to tip wasn't available. I requested for a copy of my receipt twice before given the correct one. I always tip, but having a tip option picked for me seems a little strange.

Yelp
Cute trendy spot with immaculate vibes and decent food! Super small restaurant that packs a punch! Some highlights are the spicy tuna on crispy rice (not too spicy and tasty), the dipping noodles (a flavorful umami bomb), and of course the gyoza! We went on a quiet Monday night, checked in online on our way and was able to sit as soon as we arrived! The service was quick and the staff explained the menu and answered any questions we had. The food was very good though, and I would go back!

Yelp
We just got back from Japan a week ago and already missing it, this place was really great and comforting. Even thought this was a small space, it's 5x bigger than the restaurants in Japan lol. The quality here was great and reminded us of Japan menu and taste. We would rate everything we ate in this order (best to least favorite): - Pork Gyoza - Spicy Pork on bean sprouts - Pork Bowl - Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice - Salad - Dipping Noodles My fiancé enjoyed sparkling sake ever since Japan, he was happy to find that here too. I loved their cucumber mint yuzunade, I would order that as a refreshing drink weekly if I lived closer. I love the fact that we could put ourselves on the waitlist online instead waiting until we got there, we waited no more than 10 minutes since we parked. What's great is they have standing area, if you don't want to wait (the wait was 135 minutes by the time we left around 7:15pm on a Friday), you can order when you get there and stand at the standing bar and eat. Service was great, it's all hands on deck, anyone working there can help you and everyone is very attentive and helpful, ambiance is really cool. I don't recommend coming with more than 4 people (2 people is perfect), the counter only had space for 12 people so the wait could be really long for a large group and since it's a bar, you wouldn't be able to interact much. I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Love the food! The Pork Gyoza was my favorite! And the drinks and Ambiance are spectacular. The service was great as well, very nice!

Yelp
Place is small n can be abit crowded even though they limit how many ppl could be inside. Food is good and drinks could be better. Took them awhile to bring me my ramen bowl n gyoza even though my friend and I ordered at the same time and got his food & drink faster than me. (12 mins waiting) she didn't offered me water as well while waiting. And tried asking but was ignored couple times.

Yelp
Despite the restaurant's name, the gyoza here are kinda whatever - you may as well get the freezer kind from the grocery store and pan fry them yourself. However, the tsukemen is fantastic and quite unique, with a fish-based, miso/sesame hybrid cream sauce and very chewy thick noodles made rich by a perfectly runny egg yolk. While the eggplant rice bowl is tasty, it's also comically small for the price - like, open-the-takeout-bag-and-laugh level small.
google avatar

Mandakini M.

Yelp
Ambiance- it's super small so prob best for groups of 2, we were a group of 4 so had to sit in a line at the bar. Great vibes, dark and trendy Food- so so good! Everything we got was great. Dipping noodles- so delicious, great texture to noodles and delicious broth. The restaurant's special hot sauce and vinegar- Yuzu were also delicious additions Our appetizers were also all good- cold tofu, spicy tofu crispy rice, and pork over bean sprouts, I would order all again Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Whilst I thought the food at Gyoza Bar was really good given the price and the atmosphere is definitely cool. The actual restaurant is so incredibly small be warned. If that is your vibe super cool, but not sure if it's mine. You can't really hear the people you are with and most of the "seating" is just standing at a ledge and eating there. With such a small seating area it takes forever to get a table, and when I went there reservation system was not running. So you just had to wait when you got there. I would recommend checking this place out once the TikTok hype dies down a bit.

Yelp
Great little place and great food served bar side. Service is great being bar side. Very affordable drinks.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a bar style spot (like KazuNori and yumomi) and gyoza bar really hit the mark. It's an intimate spot that's also very relaxed. our waiter was so helpful throughout our lunch and helped us pick some of his fav dishes. we ordered the salmon app, crispy rice, lunch pork gyoza rich bowl, and the ramen. the lunch gyoza bowl was our fav! moni loved the salad it came with a lot. the waiter recommended we mix the sauces with the chili oil.... so good I was putting it on everything lol. the salmon & crispy rice were simple but worth ordering for the price. ramen was okay to us! 4.5/5 to me! total was around $27 each for the 4 dishes and tea
google avatar

Kara F.

Yelp
A very vibey spot that's great to meet up for a 1 on 1. It's extremely small so it's not great if you're with a large group, but perfect if you want an intimate dining experience. The spicy tuna was delicious & I loved the vegan gyoza. I personally did not like the dipping noodles so would pass on that. I'd come back again for a light bite!
google avatar

Yelp
Hold the phone, Echo Park! Time for a tall Asahi and plates of perfect gyoza (also known as pan fried mandu or Chinese potstickers) from the HiroNori Craft Ramen empire. It's the tiniest place on Sunset Boulevard -- just about 10 seats -- so just muscle your way in and order up, Squidward. Friendly crowd and friendly staff (a staff of one) keeps the booze and bar food coming. Though there's only two kinds of gyoza (pork and vegan), they're perfect. A side of tsukemen dipping noodles and you're set for whatever's next. Next stop? Short Stop Bar, two doors down. This is your pre-game spot for a night on the east side. FOR A FUN SURPRISE: check out their website (gyozabar.com). Your cursor turns into a gyoza!
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
Vibey casual ambiance, small room with bar seating and standing room. Located right next to stereoscope coffee (how have I not seen this place before?), parking is on the street or in the adjacent lot. Ordered the salad, noodles, tofu, gyoza, crispy tuna rice, and pork bowl. Would order it all again minus the tuna rice which felt a little too heavily seasoned with sweet/salty for my taste. Service was great, staff made good recommendations of how to enjoy the gyoza and other dishes and were attentive with refilling beverages!
google avatar

Yvonne B.

Yelp
This is def an experience, it's a pretty small bar with good food! Make sure you put yourself on the waitlist before entering, the wait time wasn't too long (est. 10 mins) when I went at 5:30pm. They play a mix of EDM and rap music and show clips of iconic films, I liked it a lot! I got the pork gyoza and pina colada, both were exceptional!!
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
It was my bff and I's first time to gyoza bar! We did come on a slightly busy night but everything worked out in the end. it's a small restaurant with countertop seating. it's a little tightly packed but it only added to the ambiance of it all which blew me away. when we first arrived, we were told it would be somewhat of a wait but we were later notified that one of their reservations was late so the manager(?) let us take their seats!! He was friendly and communicative about it and explained specific dishes to us while we browsed through the menu :D The food was fulfilling and sooo flavorful. we ordered the dipping noodles with a side chasu as well as pork gyoza. it might look like a small portion of food but it definitely fills you up. the server was friendly and checked up on us frequently. she also refilled our water cups consistently without even asking!! (we were really thirsty haha) their tap water was also pretty solid, considering we were in la! a plus was the restroom, it was so clean and went along with the aesthetic of the restaurant. it was also gender neutral :) loved this place, definitely coming back to try the drinks
google avatar

Serapina C.

Yelp
For lunch my friend recommended we visit Gyoza Bar, so we stopped by for a quick meal and I was pleasantly surprised :D The inside has ambient lighting with a bar style seating, and it wasn't too busy at the time. We ordered the gyoza, tsukemen dipping noodle, and spicy ground pork rice bowl. They had a lot of cilantro but personally I love cilantro and it really heightened the flavors of the dishes. The sauces were super spice-y (not like hot spicy but flavorful spicy) with seasonings and herbs (and YUZU which I love) that really complemented the taste. The gyoza I looked forward to (since it's called GYOZA bar) and I was not disappointed because it was rich and juicy and - albeit hot - I had a mouthful and it just melted soooo tenderlyyy. Service was really nice and informative of the cuisine so would definitely recommend dropping by!
google avatar

Jason T.

Yelp
Small little restaurant bar with plenty of potential. I am guessing the most this place can seat at one time is about 15-20 depending on the type of parties. The wait could get long so be prepared, though service is fast for the most part. In terms of the food, it is not mind blowing. The Gyoza and Pork bowl were good but nothing extraordinary. This is a great place if you are hungry and getting ready for one of the bars off of Sunset. I think adding ramen would be a game changer, especially since this place is made by Hiro & Nori. There is Tsukemen noodles available but something about ramen late night with some drinks with good music playing hits different. Parking is street parking along with a small parking lot right next to Stereoscope coffee.

Yelp
FOOD: I got the gyoza plate that came with gyoza, rice, and salad. 10/10 freshly made gyoza. The vegan gyoza tastes delicious. Although I am not vegan the waitress recommended it to me saying the wrapper is chewier than the pork and since I am not a huge fan of pork, I decided to try it. The salad was fresh and I liked the dressing. I was super hungry when I ate here so I finished the whole thing (lol). SERVICE: Nice and polite, with quick refills of water. AMBIANCE: 10/10 once again. The lighting made me feel like I was transported into another world outside of busy and sunny sunset boulevard. I would say if you don't like dining in close quarters next to others, this isn't the restaurant for you as it is bar seating only. IMPORTANT NOTE: They don't do tip, but have an automatic 18% service charge. Usually vibey LA restaurants have mid food, but this one was on point for every aspect.
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
Everything on the menu is sooo delicious. We had 3 rounds of gyoza (2) pork and 1 veggie, my fave was the pork. The Gyozas are cooked to perfection- no to soft or firm. Umai Salad was unlike any other Japanese salad I've had before. Bean Sprouts with Spicy Ground Pork and Cold Todo Chili Oil was bomb Get it all you won't regret it As for ambiance, I have never been to Japan but I would presume this place would fit that description
google avatar

Kevin R.

Yelp
Decent, but memorable more for the atmosphere than the food. It's reminiscent of a tiny restaurant you'd crawl into somewhere in Tokyo for sure. The food was all OK. Salad was definitely a skip, but we just wanted greens. The gyoza, given it's the namesake item, was disappointing. The wrapper was brittle and mushy, though the filling was fine (very juicy). The salmon sashimi was also OK but not the softest sashimi of my life or anything. The dipping noodles were probably the most notable dish. Noodles were soft and chewy, and the dipping sauce is called a fish broth but it had the consistency of a gravy with a salty, nutty taste.
google avatar

Stanley S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. The owners of HiroNori set up shop in the trendy echo park neighborhood. I actually came here a week before it opened in August to do some filming. Came back a couple weeks later with a couple of friends. Since it's an intimate vibe, only fitting about 12 people, it took about 15 mins to seat the three of us. We went down the list and ordered basically everything. -Gyoza - 4/5 -cold tofu with chili oil - 5/5 -cold ramen -3.5/5 -bean sprouts with pork - 5/5 -pork bowl - 4/5 -sour yuzu sochu -5/5 Vibe was intimate. 12 bar seats only. Interesting music. Cool art wall.

Yelp
I'm kind of amused that people order gyoza and rice as a meal. To me, that's a side and a carb, but it seems to do well! I've noticed that a good number of people leave rice behind, which makes sense considering what the meal is composed of. Anyway, I wanted a full meal so I ordered the Tsukemen at a reasonably priced $16 and to my surprise there were no cuts of meat. They really should call this place Carb Bar. However, it does come with a perfectly poached egg, amazing dipping broth and perfectly cooked noodles. But I couldn't proceed without getting 3 cuts of pork belly for a proper meal. Wow $6 more, making this dish $22. Geezus. The cuts of meat were fantastic. Great texture and flavor. The thing with dipping ramen is that the dipping broth can get cold. Don't be shy and ask them to reheat it. It's so much better HOT. Would i come back? Yeah, despite the price and the fact that you have to request off the menu for added protein for a dish that traditionally comes with pork. I would come back because it was absolutely delicious. Another pro tip: have hot water after to help push down that fatty broth. Trust me, it'll help you digest. I'll try the gyoza next time when I'm craving a... snack. Again, just plain rice and gyoza? Ya'll wild. Also %18 forced gratuity, but they tell you. Sure, why not? I mean, I just paid $8 for coffee at stereoscope. Living is so expensive. **edit** I just saw on my receipt that $6 was for "4 pieces" of pork belly, as you can see in my pic. I only got 3. I'm sure it was a mistake, but.. ya'll I'd like that 4th piece please. It's rough out here.

Yelp
First time at gyoza bar & most definitely not the last! I have a feeling my bf & I will be regulars here. When you open the door, don't be fooled. It's not a pop up counter, you'll be able to take a seat, however it is pretty minimal with about 10 hightop seats and 6 to fit a standing bar. We came around 5pm on a Monday, we had the place to ourselves. This was really nice as our hostess, Hayden, gave us an introduction to the menu and the restaurant concept. If you didn't know, this is a sister company of Hiro Nori Ramen! The owners wanted to come up with a new concept and they truly hit the mark. We ordered: Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Pork Gyoza, & Tsukemen Dipping Noodle - taste & experience I would rate it 10/10! Crispy Rice - you can order 2 or 3 pieces. Usually when you order this at restaurants, the crispy rice is thicker and there's less tuna. The rice was the the perfect amount with a nice spoonful of tuna. Gyoza - it came with 6 pieces...and we definitely had to order a 2nd round because we loved it so much! The gyoza had the perfect amount of crisp on the outside, yet juicy with flavor for the filling. You dip it in the soysauce/chili oil mix & it's the most amazing combination! Tsukemen - it was our first time ever trying this type of dish & I wasn't sure what to expect. You get 2 separate bowls, one with the noodles & the other with the dipping broth. The noodles had bean sprouts, a poached egg & cilantro. The broth had this delicious & rich umami flavor. Hayden described it as an anchove broth mixed with garlic oil & japanese spices that's been kept on a consistent heat to enhance the flavors. You can tell how much thought and love goes into their dishes. Thank you, Hayden & Gyoza Bar for the hospitality, can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Great service and the atmosphere is nice. You can tell they take great pride on what they serve. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Joining the waitlist and receiving a link with the expected wait time was a breeze, setting the stage for an enjoyable dining experience. The pork gyoza was a standout, balancing crispness and chewiness flawlessly, and the accompanying dipping sauce added an extra layer of flavor. However, the limited gyoza options left me wishing for more variety. The Tsukemen Dipping Noodle provided an engaging way to enjoy the delicious broth, though the chili oil wasn't to my taste. The Shochu drinks were a pleasant addition, contributing to the overall enjoyment of the meal. The music and cozy interior of the bar created a fun atmosphere. Looking forward to exploring more of their menu on my next visit!

Yelp
Gyoza bar looks like such an inviting spot and the food was simply delicious. We arrived around 12pm right when they opened and walked right in with no wait. They have both a seated bar with wood block stools and a standing bar along the wall. There are purse hooks under the bar, which I appreciated. There is a great ambiance and they have a focused but highly curated menu. I split the dipping noodles and gyoza bowl with my husband. The staff recommend one spoon of chili oil mixed with their house sauce for the gyoza dip. I think the chili oil was overpowering and you should stick to their citrusy house dip. The gyoza was fresh and hot and bursting with juicy filling. The bowl came with a salad with a bit too much dressing and some palate cleansing rice. The dipping noodles stole the show. They were perfectly chewy with a more unique dipping sauce that had a faint yuzu umami flavor. Service was fast and friendly and I loved the vibe inside. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Food is fine- easy for quick bites. It's just extremely loud- unbearably loud. Wouldn't recommend for date night/ and of if you want to talk with friends.

Yelp
Really cool little spot! My LA local friend took me here, and I had an overall good time. This is a unique, speakeasy vibes, Asian-themed bar. Good for a night out with 1-3 people looking for a more intimate setting. Very small place (seats only 12) but has a standing bar while you wait for your spots, and you can order while you're waiting. Make sure to get here early and waitlist at the front! We got the pork gyoza plate, dipping ramen, bean sprouts bowl, pork belly rice bowl, and sochuu drinks (very good!), the food was pretty solid, although definitely pricey. (My order of gyoza, filling ramen, and a drink came out to $50+)

Yelp
Everything about this place is kind of a joke/prank. What.. is .. this place? It's a gyoza bar that has 2 gyoza options. Yet they rave about their one ramen on the menu. The quality of the rest of the food: ramen, sashimi, etc is .. just there. Unlike the limited bar seating whilst the hallway to the one bathroom can probably fit a 5 min step dance routine. Even the people who work here look like they cry every 10 mins in the bathroom or asking wth are they doing there. The service is hollow and daft. As a kuishinbo/esp towards the Nippon category, I hope that as more japanese snack places are popping up in echo park, this can be renamed to a more fitting name: 般.

Yelp
My friends and I came during lunch time and did a little sampler of a few of the sides and main entrees, and my overall impression was that it was good but didn't blow me away. *Bean sprouts with ground pork: My favorite side of the meal. The bean sprouts were really nicely blanched but still held their crunch, then topped with ground pork seasoned with some type of sweet but tangy chili oil and it made a nice veggie appy! (A little note-the side portions are very generous, it was a good amount to split among all of us and there were three of us!) *Cold tofu: Also a really solid side! The seasoning was similar to that of the bean sprouts but with an added salty crunch on top! It provided a cool and refreshing addition that complimented the rest of the meal. *Dipping noodles: This was actually surprisingly good! You are supposed to drizzle lemon juice on top of the noodles and then mix it in with the egg to create a beautifully creamy noodle base, then dip the noodles in the side sauce which was so good! It tasted lightly nutty but also had really intense umami flavor which was sooo good!! *Gyoza rice bowl: Despite its name, this was actually the most disappointing dish of the meal. The bowl is pretty plain and literally what it says on the menu - 8 pieces of gyoza with a bowl of rice. The gyoza itself was a good texture and wasn't burnt/hard and almost reminded me of a soup dumpling. The flavor itself was a veggie gyoza that felt like something I could make at home. The rice was plain as well. They do serve side sauces but I still felt like this dish was overall pretty lackluster. My recommendation would be to put some kind of sauce on top of the bowl to make it more flavorful!

Yelp
This place offers such a unique experience for a cool and quick meal before hitting the local bars. My personal favorites are the Bean Sprouts with Spicy Ground Pork. I'm not quite sure if it contains Sichuan Peppercorn but I feel the telltale gentle numbing vey time I eat this dish. It's a relatively light dish but so flavorful that I'm always left wanting more. My other favorite is the Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna which comes with either 2 or 3 pieces. It's sweet, spicy and umami flavors come together very nicely as do the competing textures with the very crispy rice serving as a bed for the soft avocado and tuna. It's a rich dish, 1 should suffice. Aside from the excellent food, the ambiance is super chill but moody enough for a date nite. Seating is very limited with no tables, just bar seating with very close quarters to your stranger neighbors on stumps (yes the tree kind) but again, such a cool big-city experience that it's a must try.

Yelp
Service: 10/10 - shoutout to our waiter the nice blonde guy! Wish we got your name. Ambiance: 8/10 Food: - Pork Gyoza 8/10 Was juicy and the gyoza skin was PERFECT. The yuzu dipping sauce made this 9/10 - Vegetarian gyoza 5/10 Not my favorite, but not the worst. - Cold tofu 6/10 (pretty average) - Tsukemen 3/10 This was the biggest disappointment. The broth was weirdly sweet and didn't have that richness tsukemen broth is known for. Felt more like eating peanut dan dan noodles than tsukemen. - Pork belly bowl 6/10 - Yuzu Mint Sochuu 10/10 Overall, would not come back for a meal but maybe for the yuzu drink and a quick gyoza snack.

Yelp
I've been at DJ sets less loud than this place. Comically loud EDM in a tiny romantic gyoza bar, not the vibe. If I closed my eyes I would have felt like I was at a nightclub. I was sitting with my friend face to face and we had to yell to hear eachother. The food was decent but Jesus Christ can you play quieter music

Yelp
Just go! Such a great lowkey spot. They don't take reservations but they have a waitlist online so if the place is all booked you can get on the waitlist. I suggest checking it out 1-2 hours before you want to go. The atmosphere is fun and intimate, service is great and the food is DELICIOUS! My favorite had to the dipping noodles. Another standout was the bean sprouts with spicy ground pork. Both the vegan & pork gyoza were yummy as well as the spicy tuna on crispy rice and salmon sashimi. Great drinks too!

Yelp
My partner were so excited to try this new spot. It's on sunset in echo park which is a great place to walk around. The inside is very small but beautiful. It's bar seating with a wooden log standing vertically as a stool. I won't lie it was extremely uncomfortable and hard to relax. If you live in a bigger body it's not very accessible. The menu is a bit confusing, some items are only available on specific times or days. We ordered the pork gyoza which was honestly delicious. We really enjoyed it. The other items fell a bit flat. We got the pork bowl and the dipping noodles. With all the hype on instagram, we were expecting a little bit more flavor. If you love gyoza I would definitely try them out, they were delicious and fresh just double check the menu to see what's available and know the seating situation is not the most comfortable.

Yelp
Cannot put into words how much I love this place. Bar style with limited seating - very much worth the wait. Everything was so good. Not one complaint.

Yelp
if you're ever in echo park you MUST try this place. it's a wonderful and intimate restaurant with gorgeous interior. you can tell they've definitely put thought into the space and the food. ordered: - pork gyoza - hironori signature tonkatsu ramen - crispy rice with spicy tuna i cannot stress enough how good the food was. the gyoza was soo juicy and the perfect level of crisp. the crispy rice with spicy tuna has got to be the best i've ever had (and i've had many) the layer of crispy rice on the bottom was perfect to balance out the generous spicy tuna. i loved the avocado piece as well as the jalapeño, which both added to the amazing finishing touch. the hironori ramen was so unique with special sauces that you can add to tailor to your individual tastes. there was spicy, garlic, and black garlic sauce. the server was also very attentive and explained everything to us so that we could have the best experience with the food.

Yelp
MUST TRY! Came around 8pm on 9/8/23 and it was their second day since opening. Wait was ~15-20 min for party of two. Only about 12 seats at the bar so come now before the word gets out and there's a long wait. We would gladly wait for the food though, it's totally worth it! It's quite dark inside, lit by Japanese style paper lanterns over the counter. The artwork, EDM played over the speakers, and concrete gives it an urban industrial vibe. They don't have an extensive menu, but everything we ordered was great! Food and service was phenomenal! Despite being newly open, operations seemed to have gone really well (from our experience and perspective) for a two-man team. Please be patient and encouraging while they work out whatever kinks we were not aware of. The owner? was super courteous and constantly made sure guests were taken care of. What we ordered: PORK GYOZAS: dripping with juices after the first bite, crispy pan-fried on the outside. The gyozas were flavorful without any condiments but the special yuzu ponzu? that we dipped these babies in made them perfection! BEAN SPROUTS WITH PORK: minced pork with some spices over cooked bean sprouts. This does have a VERY little bit of heat to the pork but was packed with flavor. COLD TOFU WITH CHILI OIL: cold tofu topped with what tasted and appeared to be crushed chilis in a shallow pool of oil. PORK BOWL: pork belly, leaky poached egg, and green garnish things over rice. This tasted so comforting! This was my personal favorite item. ICED GREEN TEA: we were surprised they kept refilling this They had some interesting cocktails but I will have to come back to try the Cucumber Mint Yuzuade. There's something really special about being able to experience a newly open restaurant and witness the team do their thing with passion and heart and to watch them grow. Hopefully many will get to enjoy this place for a long time to come.

Yelp
Food was gooooooood..... We had 3 dishes and dessert. I noodles dipped into the broth was an experience. The lemon dessert yum yum.
