Gordon Ramsay Looked the Most Like Gordon Ramsay at a Gordon Ramsay Look-Alike Contest - Eater Vegas

"The Japanese sando restaurant, Gyu Plus, has come a long way since its days tucked away inside the kitchen of Molly’s Tavern at 9821 S. Eastern Avenue near Silverado Ranch Boulevard. In September, it opened a standalone location in Chinatown at 3516 Wynn Road with limited hours. And now, the restaurant that loads thick and fluffy shokupan slices with beef filet and onion jam or with Jidori egg salad has not only expanded its hours to include Sunday, it has opened a new late-night bar called the Social Lounge. The tucked-away room inside the restaurant serves small plates of udon carbonara, oysters, and sandos with wagyu, plus Japanese beer." - Janna Karel

GYU Plus nails the art of the Japanese sando. I went in expecting something good, but came out seriously impressed. The shrimp sando was my personal favorite—crispy, juicy, and perfectly sauced, all hugged by soft milk bread. But honestly, every sando I tried was solid. A fun touch: each sando is cut into three pieces, making them perfect to share if you’re there with friends and want to sample a few. (Which you should.) While I didn’t try any bowls, the menu looked well-balanced and thoughtfully curated. The other thing that stood out was how the space transitions in the evening—GYU Social brings in a totally different vibe, with a modern and casual place for cocktails and small plates. Start with the karaage and Japanese-style street corn. Service was attentive, and the whole place has a relaxed but intentional feel. Whether you’re coming for the food, the atmosphere, or both—GYU Plus hits the mark.

This is what makes off-Strip Vegas dining unique and great. Admittedly, I've been out of the dining scene in Chinatown for a couple years. Driving down to GYU+ Dinner club on a Saturday night was memorable. The streets were alive, the lights were bright, and the parking was horrible. This part of Vegas has come a long way in five years. Now you have top level and world class chefs that cut their teeth in mega resorts all over town, plying their trade amongst the very knowledgeable local foodies. We were lucky because the owner and his partners are considered friends and they remembered us. They greeted us outside the restaurant with a welcoming smile. The GYU+ Sando restaurant I knew from many years ago still exist in the front of the shop, now completely refurbished, elegant, and tasteful. We were led to the back past the open kitchen where there was a rather small room that maybe accommodated 40 to 45 people, set up in "a dinner club" style. A long table dominated the center, but there were very comfortable booths all along the side, where we took our seats. My wife and I enjoyed an incredible Napa Valley Merlot to start, and the dishes started coming out. Starting out with a salmon tartare with an elegant Quail egg to mix and the usual accoutrements. We had a bit of everything, with the grand finish of an epic Wagyu Japanese sandwich, otherwise known as a Sando. The soft milk bread, combined with a soft, fatty Wagyu sliced to perfection melted on the first bite. In between, we enjoyed a memorable and well seasoned sliced scallop as well as a serviceable and very tasty Seabass with an excellent cream sauce. We finished the night with dessert, and great conversation with the staff. Let's highlight places like this where knowledgeable and attentive staff, who are passionate about the food and passionate about their service makes the entire night worth it. I'm told that the dinner club is only three nights a week for now, but will expand to serve the oncoming demand, no doubt. The small space makes this place intimate and memorable. More importantly, the demand is only going to go up. I wish these guys the best, and am thankful for a very memorable date night with my wife. We both enjoyed the entire experience. Looking forward to spending another fantastic dinner here soon.

Google
Gyu Plus offers great service and has some nice decor. While the food was tasty, the prices felt steep for what was delivered. The egg sando, typically a humble dish, didn’t feel elevated enough to justify the cost—it tasted similar to standard versions found elsewhere. The steak sando was tender and well-prepared, but it lacked a distinctive flavor that would have set it apart.

Google
Gyu+ was great! Parking wasn’t too bad and we were greeted warmly & promptly! We had a pretty good idea going in what we wanted already but the server at the counter explained the menu a bit more, which was helpful! Seating is limited inside to a long communal table and there were 3 patio tables outside. It took about 20 minutes to get our order and cost $50 for 2 people. The whole place was spotless, bright and clean! The bathroom was the closest thing I’ve seen to the spotless bathrooms in Japan, since Japan! Clean & futuristic! There were plenty of drink options and the Togarashi Chips are a great starter. We ordered the egg sando and the spicy chicken katsu sando! There was quite a bit of boasting (both online and in person) that the egg sando was just as good as the creamy egg sandos you get in Japan but I found that it was more of just a very good scrambled egg sando than the creamy style of my dreams! This egg sando is still great! The Spicy Chicken Katsu Sando was very filling, seasoned well, good sauce and a good kick of spice. Incredible flavors! Very messy to eat though and a little dry! The tonkatsu sauce helps! Overall we would go back and try it again and maybe try different things next time!

Google
I only tried the egg sando cuz we came first thing in the morning, and it looks like I should've gotten the meatier sandwiches. Don't get me wrong, the egg sando was good, but nothing that blew my mind away like the other sandwiches I read about. Presentation was beautiful. The chips were great! Def check out Moignet too after for some dessert!

Google
We came for the Egg Sando, and it did not disappoint. The shokupan bread was pillowy soft, and the egg filling was creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, not too heavy, but rich enough to be satisfying. You can tell they care about ingredients here; everything felt fresh and intentional. Bonus points for the chips on the side: light, crisp, and surprisingly addictive. They weren’t just filler; they actually complemented the sandwich really well and added a nice crunch to the meal. The vibe of GYU Plus is relaxed and casual, but the food is anything but basic. It’s a solid spot if you’re looking for something different from the usual brunch or sandwich options in Vegas. I’ll definitely be coming back to try the other sandos. Highly recommend if you’re into Japanese-style comfort food or just want a great egg sandwich done right, with a side of chips that deserve their own shoutout.

Google
There’s only one table in the entire restaurant that everybody shares and the seating outside only had two tables very small in 105° weather. So I guess what I’m pretty much saying is there is hardly any comfortable seating and the menu is super small. The food quality is excellent but dining here is very uncomfortable.

Google
Very attentive service, the steak sandwich was phenomenal, very tender, bread toasted just right, great sauce and caramelized onions. The pork belly was pretty good, came with pickled radish and carrots

Yelp
Amazing! Always looking for a good egg salad sandwich reminiscent of our Tokyo trips. We got the egg sando and it was delicious. It is one sandwich cut into three parts. Delicious egg salad and runny egg. Perfectly seasoned. The bread is buttered and seared on one side, so there is a nice crunch in the middle of the sandwich. Steak sandwich was perfectly cooked; medium rare. Shrimp sandwich was also a great surprise. Staff was super friendly and attentive. They had a huge order while we were there but they checked in often with people sitting. Not that much sitting space. There is a long table in the front and chairs line it like a long kitchen table. There is locations in the back but you do have to ask. They have a different night menu, so just be aware.

Yelp
Thanks to Ania K's great review I had this place bookmarked. It just so happened that my Yelp friend Jolene L. was going to be in town for a couple days. I was racking my brain on where to take her as I wanted to have a good experience with her. We made plans to meet up here and I was hopeful that our lunch would be filled with scrumptious Sando's. A small and intimate eating space up front and in back there is a larger dining space where they serve Japanese whiskies. The staff were super friendly, helpful and kind. We both wanted to try the katsu sando but we were swayed to try the Shrimp Sando so we did. We were not disappointed. The shrimp patty was filled with flavor and the Japanese bread used is so light and fluffy making the sandwich taste that much better. They use little soy sauce pipettes so you can add just the right amount of soy to your sando. We also saved room to try their pandan creme brûlée which is a specialty. It was so creamy, delicious and heavenly. Because the business is located in China Town, parking is a real challenge. If you can find a space in the lot, great but it's almost always packed. Limited street parking. I can't wait to return and try more of their sandos. Yummy in the tummy!

Yelp
We came here for a birthday dinner, our friend had reserved a large table in the back room for us which was great because we were eating with 12 people and were quite loud and obnoxious lol. None of us were too sure what to order so they ended up basically serving us everything on the menu. We got the hamachi sashimi, sakamushi clams, uni udon carbonara, fresh oysters, crispy corn, yakitori trio, nigerian prawn, sea bass, crab fried rice, wagyu tomahawk, shishito peppers, and a pandan creme brulee at the end for dessert. My favorites were the uni udon carbonara, sea bass, and the fresh oysters. The uni udon carbonara and the sea bass both came with a delicious creamy sauce that was just A++. The sea bass was super tender and overall too delicious. The wagyu tomahawk wasn't as tender as I had hoped. Props to the waitresses /chefs for taking care of our super loud and rowdy group. The interior of this restaurant is beautiful and it was a great place for dinner. I will be back to try there wagyu and shrimp sandwiches !!!

Yelp
Yelper Elite Renee N. recommended this restaurant so we could try their sandwiches for lunch. Our order was incredibly delicious and filling I might add. We initially wanted to try the katsu sando and the egg sando but somehow we were tempted away by the shrimp sando! So yummy! The shrimp patty had excellent texture, wonderful flavor, and the bread....oh so soft and fresh! I appreciated that the sauce was carefully tubed and put on the side so you can use or not use according to your preference. And save space for dessert too! They had pandan creme brulee in just the right size. Perfect brulee crisp top and silky smooth creme with a delicate taste of pandan, YUM! Bummed that we weren't traveling on a Thursday thru Saturday, as Yelp Elite Rod U. recommended the Social part of this establishment for an exquisite menu in the evening. Nevertheless, Renee and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Tables were clean and service was incredible. Will totally return (Thursday thru Saturday) on our next visit!

Yelp
I've tried the egg sandwich and the steak sandwich at Guy Plus. Both of these are high quality sandwiches and I'd recommend dropping by if you like this type of food. Egg Sando - I like what they do with the bread here. They toast one side and use that as the inside of the sandwich. This gives the sandwich a nice crunch at the end of your bite while keeping the outside soft. The egg filling is cleanly filled, allowing you to eat with minimal mess. Steak sando - although the bread is also toasted here, there wasn't the same crunch as with the egg sando. I don't think there's any way to fix this unless the sandwich is served deconstructed. The steak quality was certainly good and this was one of the better steak sandos that I've tried. SERVICE They are nice here. Good service. RESTAURANT The restaurant is modestly sized. It's clean and the Japanese design fits perfectly. There is one long community style table. There are tables outside as well. They have two restrooms available and they are nice and clean. PARKING Really limited street parking. The center across the street has lots of other shops and even a Ranch market. I like to park over there, stock up on snacks and then pop over to Gyu for a sandwich.

Yelp
Gyu Plus is a must try spot for Japanese sando lovers! This spot is serving up some delicious Japanese-inspired sandwiches and more. They are located in Chinatown in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a long table for seating and then more additional tables outside on their patio. For their menu, they have a unique selection of different sandos along with some bento box options. Wifey and I pulled up to grab a quick lunch and opted for the Steak Sando. Each sando comes with pieces. Overall, we enjoyed every bite of the sando! I really liked how the milky and soft Japanese bread paired with the perfectly cooked meat. All of the staff here are friendly and welcoming. Definitely stop by to try one of their sandos and you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Shrimp sando - light, crispy, and surprisingly bouncy patty, my favorite of the three! bread felt a bit too dense and thick for the filling, definitely preferred a lighter bread ratio. Spicy chicken katsu sando - juicy and flavorful, the spicy mayo cabbage slaw and pickled daikons added a nice tangy kick and balance. bread again a bit too dense. Steak sando - the onion jam was rich, sweet, and deeply savory, added so much flavor to the juicy steak. definitely recommend eating this right away bc the steak juice does make the bread soggier quick! Staff friendly and wait for the sandwiches (Togo) was about 15min. Free parking available, does fill up pretty quickly though. Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
Quick delicious bite! We walked in and were greeted right away and the menu was explained to us. It is a small area without about 12-16 seats inside with plenty of seats under some shade outside. We ordered the steak sando and some sake, you can only drink the sake inside. The sando was tender and flavorful.

Yelp
Delicious Japanese Sando! Finally able to stop by and try out this place. We ordered the Lulu Sando Box and Pork Belly Rice Box. It's a small cozy modern establishment. We ordered to go and the wait was about 20 minutes. The lady helping us was friendly and welcoming. Husband and I shared the Pork Belly and it was delicious. Pork was tender and whole dish was packed with flavor. While the 3 sandos were delish, husband and I enjoyed the Spicy Chicken Katsu out of the 3. Our oldest devoured the Steak Sando and our youngest enjoyed the egg sando. Glad we were able to try this place and definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Yelp
Great place. Thanks to my lady for pushing new places on me because I'm always eating great. Everything we tried here was very good. Egg sando was very creamy, chips were fresh and tossed in a lot of seasoning, and the steak sando was very tender. Easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Seating wasn't my favorite because you're sitting with strangers indoors but the food is exceptional.

Yelp
I landed in Vegas and literally came straight here for a birthday dinner. Since we had a larger party and it was already late they sat us in the back room. The staff were really nice and helpful. Since we had all of our luggage they were nice enough to assist us with storing safely off to the side. They offered us drinks as soon as we got settled and I ordered shots of tequila. Not sure exactly what they gave me but it was good. It was whichever Reposado they recommended. Our host whom I assumed was an owner or at least a manager was taking great care of us and we opted to do an Omakase style dinner course. We let them take the wheel and we were there for the experience. During the day their menu consists of sandwiches and I didn't know we were in for an actual tasting course but here's how it went. First to come out was the Hamachi. I gave it a 4. It was quite tasty and I enjoyed it very much. Second was the Crispy Corn dish which had bold flavor that felt very comforting. 3.5. Next were the Kumamoto Oysters. Solid 5. Can't go wrong with fresh Kumamotos and these were fresh. Then came the Yakitori trio which I gave a 3. They were good but there wasn't a standout feature. Up next was the Chilean Sea Bass. Solid 4 dish. It was cooked well and the fish was great. The carbonara was just ok to me. Solid 3. The Nigerian prawn was huge. Looked like a baby lobster and was pretty good. Solid 4. The clams came out and I didn't really care too much for the clams. So it's a 3 for me. The crab fried rice was good. I would give it a 4 and would buy it again. Then the big finale was the A5 Tomahawk. This is why it's taken me so long to write this review. I love beef and steaks and this one didn't quite give me an A5 Wagyu experience. I talked to the other guests with me and they all agreed that the steak was good but didn't feel like A5 Wagyu. Don't get me wrong. It was really tasty. Just felt a bit off. The staff were amazing though and the service was top notch. I would definitely come back again for their dinner service.

Yelp
Best Sandos in town!!! You will not find these sandos anywhere like this except at GYU PLUS. They all hit the spot and it's really coming from that bread!!! They have one of the best shokupan bread in town. The steak Sando was the closest to the Wagyu sando probably! It was still worth it even if you are not paying $$$$premium on it. The filet was perfectly cooked! Honestly you didn't need the extra secret sauce. It went well with the onion jam and bread. The spicy chicken katsu sando was my fav! Bombbbbbb! Crunchy and delicious with that spicy mayo! Again didn't need the sauce. Egg sando was protein packed and okay..needed some kicked to it though! Overall, I can't wait to come back here again!! Service is amazing! People here treat you like family including management! Chill ambiance.

Yelp
I loveeee Japanese sandwiches so was really excited to try this place! I got the shrimp sando and shared the sampler with my friend. I loved the shrimp sando, it's perfectly cooked and the bread is so soft. The egg sando was also super yummy. It's a small place, with limited seating inside but more seating outside. My only complaint is that it's pretty pricey for the amount you get. The shrimp sando was $22, but they do have tasty sandwiches!
google avatar

Christina N.

Yelp
Steak sandwich hands down! Super tender meat, flavorful and well seasoned. Would come back here again just for that. The egg sandwich is ok. Pork sandwich is a little disappointing. Wasn't crispy enough and lacked flavor. Portion is pretty huge. I struggled to finish my entire sandwich.
google avatar

Joe F.

Yelp
I would consider this place a hidden gem based on location alone. The sandwiches were extremely unique and really tasty. The spicy chicken wasn't too spicy and the shrimp sandwich was surprisingly my favorite. The chefs bowl was also really tasty. We can't wait to come back and try the other sandwiches. The back room is absolutely beautiful, so make sure you walk back there and check it out if you come in during the day like we did.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
We got the steak sando and egg sando. The steak sando was delicious! The steak was tender and flavorful. The caramelized onions in the sando was seeet and aromatic. The bread wasn't soggy at all! A perfect steak sando. The egg sando was disappointing though. It just didn't taste right. There's a long table with a good amount of seating. The restrooms were very clean. While we didn't have trouble finding parking, this parking lot looks like it could use a few more spaces.

Yelp
Wow ! Amazing place, amazing Staff, Amazing food! Showed up and weren't really sure what to order so we were recommended the Sando box so we can try a few different Sandos . They do take their time making the food so don't try to be in a hurry if you can help it. The staff were so friendly and interactive , they showed us the back room and invited us to come next time where they do high end dining on the weekend. Finally got our food and oh man... 10/10 all around . IF I had to pick a favorite.. it would be the Steak Sando. The meat was cooked a little tiny bit under medium rare but melted in my mouth. The shrimp Sando was so good! By the time I got to the chicken Katsu Sando I was full (crying face) my boyfriend had to help me finish which he had no objection too. The staff constantly checked in on us to make sure we were good. It was a welcoming environment and wished we came sooner to try their fine dining experience. Whenever you order something they refer you to Moignet's which is their sister restaurant 2 doors down. If you show them your receipt they give you a free treat ( Also delicious) Will be coming back next time we are in town ! Hopefully for the fine dining experience !

Yelp
I'm so glad i've finally tried their sandos!! The shrimp sandwich is my favorite! The house-made torigashi potato chips is so good too! I'll definitely be back again soon!!

Yelp
Love this place. We got the steak, egg, shrimp, and chicken. Each one of them were delicious, but my favorite was the steak and shrimp. My son says the chicken was the best. The bread is toasted to perfection and is just so soft and pillowy. So much flavor and each bite is perfect. The meat is soft, tender, and juicy. Give it a try and also check out the bakery 2 shops down. They have the best mango mochi!! We can't wait to visit again!!!

Yelp
We went for lunch after the airport and this lace didn't disappoint. We ordered the box of 3, beef , chicken katsu, and shrimp. The beef was super tasty and tender, the sauce enhanced the flavor. The shrimp, was a taste of shrimp tempura combined with a crab cake. I don't like Mayo would order it without next time the shrimp had enough flavor. The chicken katsu was my favorite. It was flavorful, can't go wrong with either they were all delicious. We also ordered the melon cream soda and fresh passion fruit drink. The rosemary potato chips were good too! Service was good, the owner came by to check on us. The ambience is casual with some Japanese anime around and a beautiful large bonsai tree. As you walk in there's a community table.

Yelp
My fiancé and I had an awesome dinner at the "speakeasy" located at the back of the restaurant. Roni is an exceptional waitress and provided excellent service. She is one of the best waitresses we've ever had! We didn't catch their names, but the rest of the staff were super attentive and personable as well. The decor was beautiful, service was excellent, and the food was great. The highlight of the meal for us was the Pandan creme brûlée, hamachi, and oysters! Will definitely be back next time we are in Vegas. Thanks again Roni and team!

Yelp
Great sandwiches and rice bowls. I highly recommend the steak sando. Expect to pay around 22$ for it. The price is a bit on the steep side but it is worth it for the quality and taste. They also have a Japanese Wagyu sando that people have recommended but it was 99$ so maybe next time. They do counter service. Friendly staff and owner is usually there too for a good gab. Ambiance is chill with awesome decor. I love the fun decoration and the bidet in the bathroom!

Yelp
I recently visited GYU+ on Spring Mountain Road and really enjoyed the experience. I tried the Japanese egg sando, house potato chips, and the pandan crème brûlée. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, but the standout for me was definitely the crème brûlée. It was subtly sweet with that distinct pandan aroma--kind of like vanilla meets coconut--and perfectly torched on top. So good. The space has a cozy, moody feel thanks to the black wood slats and warm lighting. It's stylish but still feels comfortable. I also had the chance to meet the owner, Mr. Luis de Santos, who was so friendly and down-to-earth. He shared a little about his background and passion for entrepreneurship. One of the team members gave me a quick tour of the back room, called GYU Social. It opens in the evenings as a more intimate gathering space. The ceiling is covered in pink flowers and the whole room has a very Instagram-worthy aesthetic. I learned that they're planning to have music on Saturday nights and discounted drinks on Thursdays. I'm definitely interested in coming back to check both out. Not sure what the music will be like yet, but the vibe alone is worth revisiting. Right next door is Moignet, another concept by Luis, where I tried the mochi beignets. Chewy, soft, and just the right amount of sweet. He also mentioned he's opening a bakery soon called Milk Bread, which sounds really exciting. Bonus tip: They told me if you follow @gyuplus_lv on Instagram, you get a 10% discount, which is always nice. Overall, if you're looking for good food, a beautiful space, and a place that reflects the creativity and hospitality of our Filipino community, GYU+ is worth checking out.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had this place bookmarked to try out. We had just finished celebrating our friend's bachelorette weekend and was looking forward to coming by. We arrived at 11:30am right before lunch rush and were welcomed in by Nick and Louisa. Everything looked good but we were most excited to try the sandwiches. We went with the Lulu Box Sando which came with Steak, Egg & Chicken. We also ordered chips and each ordered cream sodas (Melon & Mango). We took a seat inside their long high top table. They also have additional outdoor seating as well. While waiting for our food we looked around at the decor and noticed it was Japanese themed which obviously ties into the food while munching on our bowl of chips. Our sando sampler came out quick and was on 3 plates. Each sando was cut into 3 portions which gave us 9 pieces for my boyfriend and I to share. We started off with the spicy chicken, followed by the egg and ended with the steak: 1. Spicy Chicken: 9/10. I'm not a spice girl so it was spicy for me, but it was still quite flavorful (my boyfriend loved it) 2. Egg: 10/10 my favorite sandwich! Egg was super creamy and delicious! Also a great pallet cleanser between the chicken and steak sandos. 3. Steak: 10/10 my second favorite sandwich! The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce you can drizzle on... chefs kiss! We noticed are creamy sodas were imported from Japan as well. They were really good and went well with our sandos. While enjoying our lunch, Nick the owner came by to introduce himself and asked us how we were enjoying the food as well as where we were from (we were wearing Disneyland sweaters and we told him we were from LA/OC area). He talked to us about the shop and how on the weekends Thursday-Sunday from 6p-10p they have a special social dinner in their back room. He gave us a tour of the back room which transports you to Japan. They also have live entertainment during the social club. The social club also has a separate menu from their typical sandos and bowls they serve during the day. The restroom is also well decorated! It even has those toilets you normally see used in Japan! Overall this place is awesome! It's located in Chinatown and parking is in the back. The food is so good, the vibes are great and my boyfriend and I can't wait to come back to try more (and also check out the Social Club!) Come try them out, they've been open for only a few months but you can tell they are up and coming!

Yelp
Yes, this place is hidden, but the quality of the sandwiches is great quality! Strongly recommend but only one complaint is they close too early. Other than that everything is great!

Yelp
We saw this place on a reel and decided to try it. Boy were we glad we did! This Japanese sandwich shop is a gem! The staff was friendly and welcoming. We had the chicken katsu sandwich and their homemade chips with rosemary...yum!

Yelp
Japanese-inspired sandos that truly hit the spot! I ordered togarashi potato chips along with egg and steak sandos. My man gets an instant alert every time I spend his money and the total with tax & tip came to $63.16. Oof! When I sat down he looked at me and said, "I thought we were here for sandwiches, wtf did you order?" But the moment he took a bite of the steak sando his tune changed. "Ok I get why this sandwich costs $23.99." The beef was impossibly tender and buttery, melting with each bite. The sweet and savory onion jam and sauce elevated the richness even further, and the ultra-fluffy toasted shokupan, with its subtle sweetness made for an indulgent and beautifully balanced sando. The egg sando was very creamy though I found myself wishing for a touch more seasoning. Salt, pepper, or dill. I know it's not traditional but I love fresh herbs in egg salads. Still the perfect soft-boiled egg was stunning. And the potato chips were fresh and crisp and seasoned to perfection. Love the fresh rosemary! Before I even left, I was planning my next order. Can't wait to come back to try their other sandos and maybe a rice box. And the service was friendly and warm. Indoor seating is one very long table so you can make friends with everyone oohing and aahing over the food and there are a few outdoor tables as well.

Yelp
I'm so glad that I marked down Gyu Plus as one of the places we had to try in Vegas before going back home! All the sandos are delicious. The bread is pillowy soft. The steak is cooked perfectly to our liking. The pork belly is soft and fork tender. The sauce with the pork belly is delicious. The service was excellent. The manager/owner talked to us and he is very nice and informative. The dining area inside is delightful. There are also outside seating available.

Yelp
First stop in Vegas - sandos! We ordered the Sando Box ($46.99 - a sampler of three different sandos, 3 boxes) with steak, spicy chicken katsu and shrimp for an additional $10. The bread was incredibly soft. My favorite was the steak - it was so tender. I love the pipette of sauce, so cute! We also got an order of the Togarashi Potato Chips ($5.99), which were great to snack on. For drink, I had the homemade Passion Fruit Mango juice and it was so refreshing. I would love to try an egg sando next time!

Yelp
Not exactly the same, but probably the closest thing my husband and I have found to the sandos we had in Japan. Between the two of us, we split the Japanese wagyu sando (which comes with truffle chips and dessert) and an egg sando. Egg sando: I absolutely LOVE how they prepare the bread. The bread itself is so fluffy and soft, and the side of the bread inside the sandwich was super crispy and flavorful (buttery?) The egg part filing was decent, but some bites were a little on the bland side. Wagyu sando: The wagyu came out medium-well, which was perfect for us! The wagyu was so soft and juicy, and I loved how well the sweetness of the onion jam complements the savory flavor of the beef. The sandwich included pipettes of their secret sauce, but honestly I don't think the sandwich even needed any more flavor, haha. While I thought the amount of beef was perfect, I almost wanted more bread? The ratio of bread to meat felt a little off, and I think it would feel more balanced with just a slightly larger piece of bread, haha. Also, the bread got slightly soggy (maybe from the juices of the meat?) and wasn't as good compared to the bread from our egg sando The truffle chips were loaded with truffle flavor, almost overpoweringly so. I'm not a huge truffle person to begin with, so I wasn't really a fan, but they definitely do not skimp out on the truffle flavor here, haha. The dessert of the day was a pandan creme brulee which was DELICIOUS! Maybe even my favorite part of the whole meal LOL. The creme brulee was so creamy and the pandan flavor was very prominent. I'm not sure if they sell their desserts separately but I would come back just to order their dessert! Overall, it was a great first experience here and we definitely enjoyed our meal. Service was quick and friendly, and our food came out right away as well. The only downside is that the restaurant has barely any seating, so I'd probably try to come during off-peak hours or take the food to-go.

Yelp
BEST EGG SALAD SANDWICH EVER!!! I live in the Bay so I was excited to come here and try this place out. This place is even better than many egg salad spots I had in Japan. Came about an hour ago and loved everything about it. I love how the workers/ owner introduce how everything works here if you are new, the customer service here is top tier. Ordered two egg salad sandwiches and it was easily the cheapest and best meal here. For about $13 a sandwich you get three slices with the fluffiest bread with a toasty inside. The egg salad is super creamy and cold so they both pair really well. It was super filling, I couldn't even finish my own portion. They have a bunch of sandwiches here that are worth trying, steak & chicken which I will give a try next time. The inside is kind of small but there's inside and outdoor seating. I feel the comfy feel with all the figurine decor inside. This is 100% on my list of food spots to visit while I'm in Vegas. Thank you Gyu for such a great experience and service!!

Yelp
Who would have known came here for sandos had turned into this amazing experience at the social lounge. We got a tour from Nick and decided to come here for my birthday. Thank you for all the staff who made this experience truly amazing and will definitely wont be our last. We have already talked about coming back for next birthdays. Our server was amazing and knowledgeable with the dishes and recommendations too. We chose 2 of the dishes from the specials and some from the menu. Dinner: Tartare with salmon, 32oz Tomhawk with black truffle sauce, Nigerian prawn, seabass, surf & turf rice (special), and some cocktail drink I forgot the name I just know it has mango & passion fruit (special), and pandan cream brulee (not picture). Everything was amazing but the most stand out for us would be seabass, surf & turf rice that we already know we will get them again. Tomahawk was amazing and cooked in perfection and the black truffle sauce was chef kiss but that would be a very special occasion dish. The seabass has this amazing sauce that our server recommended to get some toasts on the side because a lot of people like to dip with it. it sure was and I can still taste it as I am typing this review out. The tartare salmon was great but the chip it came with was a bit on the harder side. I actually think maybe wonton chips might be able to pair well this dish. Pandan cream brulee was so good. we got that when we picked up their sando last time so we already know we have to get it again. Service was great and attentive. We felt special for the attention and changed in plates/ utensils too. They even had live music too. I didn't know they do birthday shout out so I was little bit in shock but felt the love from all the staff and even when we were leaving they would greet me too. just a wonderful experience. High recommend this place if you want to have a special date or birthday. Can't wait to come back and try on their other items.

Yelp
I only tried the egg sando cuz we came first thing in the morning, and it looks like I should've gotten the meatier sandwiches. Don't get me wrong, the egg sando was good, but nothing that blew my mind away like the other sandwiches I read about. Presentation was beautiful. The chips were great! Def check out Moignet too after for some dessert!

Yelp
My friend and I visited on a recommendation from Pappa Roti. Sando shop by day, speakeasy dining experience by night. The night we visited they were doing an Italian inspired 4 course pop-up menu. Bottles of wine and saki were half off also. We started with the Jungle Bird cocktail, which was refreshing and not too sweet. Then moved on to a bottle of Riesling. My favorite course was the Branzino. The fish was cooked perfectly, crisp skin with tender flakey flesh. The potato cream combined with the chimichurri rojo and lemon marmalade made each bite absolutely beautiful. My only complaint is that I wish there was more of it and I think a lot of the diners felt the same way. We enjoyed the entire experience; the ambiance, the service, the cocktails, and of course the star of the evening, the food. Our server, Roni, was super sweet. I would love to try their standard menu, I heard all of the dishes were outstanding. I've heard the prawns and the udon carbonara mentioned multiple times. If you're looking for something intimate and unique, give GYU+ a shot. Reservations are highly recommended. Ciao!

Yelp
This might have been the best meal I had in all of Las Vegas. Very cool vibe, reminds me of your ramen shops in Japan. Open kitchen, friendly and welcoming staff, one long table with maybe 10-12 chairs. Cool decor. I got the steak sando and the egg sando along with their house made chips. These are legit sandos with that soft fluffy milk bread. The Wagyu was melt in your mouth tender and each sando comes with these little sauce squeeze syringes to add a boost of flavor. The egg sando was everything I hoped for, flavor egg mixture with half an egg in the middle. The chips were crunchy and flavorful. 10/10 recommended for your next Vegas trip.

Yelp
Of course we had to try this viral sandwich spot, the hype is worth the heavy praise. We loved the chicken Katsu and the chefs tasting box. Both were outstanding and very filling. Definitely be back to get the Wagyu Sando next time.

Yelp
This local spot is a unique experience as it is a sando spot and a speakeasy bar at night. The spot is not very big so the place can get packed. I came in for lunch and the service was very nice and quick with the orders. Each sando is made to order and all ingredients tasted high quality. The main event here is the japanese sando. They have a wagyu sando, which is their top tier. I usually go for variety and got the sando trio, which comes with 3 different sandos. The wagyu is prepared just like the steak and both are always juicy and tender. The sandwiches come with a sauce pipette so that tops it off and give the meal an extra hit. The spicy chicken came with some slaw and the pipette provided plenty of sauce. The sleeper is the egg sando. It had a soft boiled egg as well as egg salad so you get both textures. This was one of the better egg sandos I have had. They have other options as well but these are my favorites and it's so tough to get everything, but so far all the ones I have had have been great. I would definitely recommend this spot as their are not too many sandwich spots like this one.

Yelp
10/5 Stars - Kindness, Class, and Unforgettable Food I brought my parents here to celebrate my dad's birthday, and though there was a mix-up on timing, the staff turned it into a truly memorable evening. When I called ahead, I misunderstood the 4:30 p.m. closing as just a menu transition--not a full temporary closure. They close and re-open as a social club that sometimes has live music on Thursday-Saturday. We would never intentionally walk into a restaurant 15 minutes before closing for a full sit-down experience with drinks, but that's exactly what happened due to my mistake. Despite this, the manager, Nick, welcomed us warmly and found us a table in the social lounge. The entire team couldn't have been more gracious. Several staff members even took the time to chat with us about the restaurant's origins and answered our questions about the social lounge--all while maintaining the same warm, leisurely vibe that made us feel comfortable and never rushed. And the food--phenomenal. The Wagyu Sando was hands-down the best sandwich I've ever had. The Chicken Katsu Sando and Pork Belly Rice Box were just as incredible. Every bite reflected the attention to detail they paid to their decor and customer service training. Between the hospitality and the quality, this place sets the bar. We're so grateful and can't wait to return.

Yelp
The food is delicious and great. It reminds me of how much I miss Japan and the sandwiches. We ordered steak sando, egg sando and shrimp sando. All great and the bread they used is so good. Service is great. Luis (chief sommelier )was very accommodating and showed us the secret room and showed us the cafe next door ( which they also own). We didn't wait that long for our food. The restaurant is small. They have a long table that can sit 14 people, I think. And you can sit outside as well. They have few tables outside. But their secret room is spacious and I think it only opens at 6PM. Thanks Luis for a very great experience !!

Yelp
After seeing several positive reviews I had to try this spot. We ordered the sampler with Steak, Chicken and Shrimp. All of the Sando's were delicious! My favorite was the steak followed by the chicken and then the shrimp. The steak was well cooked and tender, the shrimp one surprised me since it was full of flavor. The bread was so SOFT, if I lived in the area I would definitely become a regular. The shop itself is small but the service was quick. The side of chips were good as well with a crunchy outside and tender inside.

Yelp
First off all i have to say is WOW! First time coming to this place and I was blown away. So during the day they do Japanese inspired sandwiches which I cannot wait to review but tonight we dined in for the evening dinner and it was everything and more. At night the place has a speakeasy that is fancy fancy and the food items are one of a kind! The off the menu items tackled every taste bud I possible Could have. The service was top tier from the waiter to the manager/owner, when I tell you this place was welcoming it was WELCOMING! The wine selection was superb I even brought home 2 bottles to enjoy at home hehe. This place will be a go to for sure because I will be back.

Yelp
The sandwiches here are absolutely delicious. My favorite was the egg sando, my mom's was the chicken katsu, and my dad's was the steak - they're all just that good. The bread is crunchy, soft, and buttery all at once, and it perfectly suits the filling inside. I'm a big fan of the fact that they have a sampler on the menu, as it allows someone to try out the three most popular flavors. I also thought the presentation was quite cute - some of the sandos come with these little sauce tubes that you can "inject" onto the meat.

Yelp
We ordered a quick lunch to go and everything was packaged beautifully. Our fried shrimp sando was very good: Lightly crisp, great flavor, and the softest Japanese style bread. Service was efficient and food was ready quickly. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the area is pretty crowded bc of popularity, but not unreasonably so. We also stopped next door at their sister restaurant, Moignet Social, a free mochi beignet. Service and food were wonderful there too.

Yelp
5 Stars - Elevated Japanese Sandos & Next-Level Service GYU Plus in Las Vegas blew me away with both the food and the service. If you've never tried a Japanese sando before, this is the place to do it -- and do it right. We ordered the sando sampler platter, which included the egg salad, katsu, and wagyu sandos. Each one was delicious in its own way: the egg salad was creamy and comforting, the katsu was crispy and flavorful, and the wagyu? Melt-in-your-mouth magic. Everything was fresh, high quality, and beautifully prepared. But what really made the experience stand out was the male cashier from Guam. He was incredibly friendly, knew everything about the menu, and spoke about the brand and offerings (like GYU Social) with so much passion and detail that I honestly thought he might be the owner. That kind of genuine, knowledgeable service is rare -- and it totally justified the higher price point and a generous tip. He was kind enough to sit us in the back room where there was additional seating because they were experiencing higher volume with the EDC Las Vegas weekend. This spot is a gem. Don't miss it if you're in Vegas and want a flavorful, elevated take on comfort food with five-star service.

Yelp
I just realized I forgot to write my review. I came here to take a quick bit of their sandos when they opened. There was no wait at all. I ordered the egg sandos and regretted for not ordering the shrimp sandos since we were going to another place for lunch. I need to wait until my next visit to Vegas. I wish we had a place with sandos similar to that in Boston.

Yelp
Food: 3/5 I feel like you get what you pay for. Steak sando was super underwhelming even though that was the most expensive dish we ordered. Couldn't taste the steak at all. Seafood dishes were the best! Service: 3/5 Ordered wine and they never brought it out so we had to follow up. One of the waitress also tried to take our plate when we weren't done? And waited at the table until we cleared the plate. She didn't come off rude though just lost lol.... Ambiance: 4/5

Yelp
At first glance, this place looks like an ordinary sandwich (Sando) place with a long counter where one can order, and also have outdoor seating. The sandos are incredibly tasty and so big they have to be cut in half and served on two plates! We ordered the combination sando which consists of wagyu beef, egg salad and spicy chicken katsu with their secret sauce and shokupan bread. So delicious! Because the tables were full, we asked to eat at the back room. And oh goodness! We were transported to a dining area set up for fine dining, complete with fine china and wineglasses, dim lights, soft music, and video of beautiful scenes in Japan. The ceiling is covered with cherry blossoms highlighted by fairy lights. This room is slated for their social hour during which they have an entirely different menu to celebrate the occasion. We were told they even have karaoke (of course!). This is an incredible place to chill, eat good food and patronize local businesses. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Yelp Review 2024 #212: We've been coming to Gyu+ since they were still in a ghost kitchen in Downtown Las Vegas. They used to have this delicious bread pudding but they changed up their menu - based on demand. I'm pretty sure they're the first sando place in Vegas. A few places opened up/ started offering sandos after. But theirs is some of the best. They also have rice boxes (as opposed to rice bowls). Togarashi Potato Chips: Thin homemade russet potato kettle chips with togarashi, rosemary & salt. It has a nice crunch to it and flavor you can't get anywhere else. 4/5 Pork Belly Rice Box: Braised pork belly with koshihikari white rice, furikake, pickled daikon and carrot. Nice flavors and textures. A comforting meal. 4/5 Shrimp Sando: Panko-crusted shrimp patty with shishito pepper mayo in between thick shokupan bread. For some reason, I was expecting it would taste like Ebi Filet-O from McDonald's Japan but it doesn't...which is fine. You get a sandwich cut in thirds. The shrimp patty is thick. Lulu Box Sando - You get 3 sampler boxes of steak, egg and spicy chicken sandos with each sando box. I somehow overlooked that it's THREE SAMPLER BOXES. So, we got this on top of the Shrimp Sando! Although I enjoyed getting to try different sandos, it was a lot of good especially if there's not 3 of you splitting this. But definitely a good combo option. 5/5 Steak Sando: 3 slices of beef filet, onion jam, secret sauce in between shokupan. For the 3 slices of sandwich, you get a total of half a pound of juicy medium-medium rare steak. Do not alter this sabdwich and ask for well-done because that's just not right. This is my favorite from Gyu+. 5/5 Spicy Chicken Katsu Sando: Panko-crusted chicken thigh, spicy mayo cabbage slaw, pickled daikon and carrot, tonkatsu sauce, shokupan. Crunch on crunch on crunch...a nice contrast to the soft shokupan. Using chicken thighs make this sando juicy. 4/5 Egg Sando: Diced jidori eggs, mayonnaise, secret sauce, shokupan. Now, a lot of people have been comparing this egg sando to Japan's 7-11 egg sando and raving about this version. You definitely get more egg and shokupan with Gyu+ but flavorwise, I still prefer the egg sando from 7-11 (Japan). I like what I like! This is a bit bland. 3/5 Pandan Creme Brulee: Pandan leaf infused custard topped with caramelized sugar and strawberry slices. We first tried this when it wasn't on the menu yet but Luis hooked us up! Pandan is commonly used in Southeast Asian cooking. But this was unique. 4/5 Luis De Santos is one of the owners of Gyu+ and I remember him from Mordeo (one of the best restaurants in Vegas but sadly didn't survive the lockdown). Very personable and he talks to all diners to get their opinion about the food. He also goes next door to Suzuya Cafe. He helps with expediting orders - very hands on. The restaurant at their hopefully permanent home in Chinatown has a big community table inside and smaller tables at the patio. There's a door that would lead you to Gyu+ Social that has a special menu and is open at night from Thursday to Saturday.
