If you're on the hunt for your next foodie adventure, Gyukatsu Rose deserves a top spot on your list. Whether you're planning a date night, catching up with friends, or just treating yourself, this spot has something special in store. Though heads up, the setup is designed for pairs--so flying solo might mean making friends with your imaginary plus one. Trust me, even if you're rolling solo, it's worth it.
Now, let's get to the food, because wow. The Suimono Soup? Absolute perfection. Maybe it was the cold weather or the fact that I was feeling a little under the weather, but that soup was the culinary equivalent of a warm hug. Sadly, since this was a soft launch, you can't order extra bowls a la carte, but believe me, I would've gladly gone for a second (or third).
The star of the show here is the Wagyu cutlet, flash-fried and served alongside a hot stone for you to cook it just the way you like it. I'm usually in the camp of "why am I paying to cook my own food?" but this? This was a whole experience. Watching the beautifully marbled Wagyu sizzle on the hot stone was oddly satisfying, and the flavor was beyond anything I've had in a while.
Let's talk about the staff--because they're amazing. Super friendly, incredibly attentive, and they go above and beyond to make sure you have the best possible experience. One of the coolest little touches was when they brought out the sake: you get to pick your own shot glass from an assortment of designs. It's a small detail, but it adds so much personality and fun to the meal.
If you're debating how much to order, let me save you the trouble: go for the double cutlet option. I only went with one because I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it, and wow, was I dead wrong. The meal comes with all the sides you need for a perfectly balanced experience, and I left wishing I had room for more.
So, here's the verdict: Gyukatsu Rose is already off to an incredible start, and this was just the soft launch. I can't wait to see what they bring to the table when they officially open. Whether you're in it for the food, the vibe, or the friendly staff, you're going to leave happy. Big kudos to the team for pulling off such a unique and enjoyable concept.
