22 Top Asian Snacks in NYC | Eater NY

"Arguably the most well-known Korean grocery store in America — there are locations in 12 states — H Mart is a one-stop shop for supermarket standards as well as fresh seafood, baked goods, and pastries. While the Koreatown outpost offers plenty of packaged snacks (GGE seaweed ramen bites, Choco Pie, green tea Kit Kat), the larger Bayside outpost houses a miniature food court with budget-friendly tofu stews, stir-fried meats, and fried rice." - Dan Q. Google
As a regular customer of H Mart, I visited this H Mart today and found that it was actually a scam. I spent $23.99 on pig's trotters, but there were a lot of pig bones in it, which accounted for a large part. Moreover, they put the seasonings at the bottom and the meat on top to make it look like there was a lot of it. But in fact, there was only so little. This is really a big scam.

Has anyone ever tried to buy something at Hmart and the price on the price checker is different from the price at the cashier? I just encountered this when I was shopping at the Bayside store. I wanted to buy a cutting board and the price on the price checker showed 9.99/piece, but when I got to the cashier, it became 12.99/piece.

Been coming here for years!! I just love this place. Organized, clean, insane variety of Korean goods. Fresh fish, beautiful fruits and veggies, fun samples to try, friendly employees. I love their Paris Baguette kiosk and their little sit down restaurant off the side. I always come for 1 thing and leave with 20!!

The cod fish plate I got is kinda mid. Not my taste. It’s just bean paste and spices with fish. For the supermarket it’s fine

My mom and I have been to this place and with my mom drove the car and parked in the parking lot and then after that grabbed a cart and then went into the supermarket and bought lots of food like seafood, veggies, and other things. Also bought a pan from this place. There were people in the store.

Google
If I can,I will give it 0 star. I had a deeply disappointing experience here. The cashier displayed a rude and unprofessional attitude throughout the transaction. She was visibly impatient, shouted loudly in Korean, and showed clear discriminatory behavior toward Chinese customers. Every encounter with this cashier feels unwelcoming, with overt signs of prejudice and irritation, such as rolling her eyes when I asked a question in English. This unacceptable behavior ruined my shopping experience. I urge the management to address this issue, provide proper staff training, and ensure all customers are treated with respect and fairness.

Lots of Japanese products, fresh looking meats. Very nice produce and seafood section. They also have a great little coffee area with cakes

Yelp
I'm a big H Mart fan in general. But if we're ranking the H Marts in NYC, this one is not a favorite. For being in the "burbs" this H Mart feels small. It almost feels like there's less product than its KTown counterpart. The freezer section is tiny and their hot prepared foods are nonexistent. Instead of prepared foods, they do have a little restaurant on the side where you can order food. We needed a quick bite and shared the katsu. The curry dip was extremely sweet and so was the dressing on the cabbage. The katsu itself was just ok, and the miso soup that came with it was lukewarm. Disappointing, because hot food served in Asian supermarkets is often very good. If I had a choice between H Marts, this would not be my go to. But, still a reliable choice to get your groceries in the area.

Yelp
This review is for the restaurant that's part of this H Mart. Place is clean, & well run. Order with the cashier, & wait for your number to be called. Small menu, but the dishes are made well. Black pork is tough to find, & this spot has it. Big portions. Love the extras that come along with the entree. This H Mart has a parking lot; & a Paris Baguette as well.

Yelp
We had the sliced rib meat at the food court it was kinda like eating rubber. The beef bolgoi lunch box was good. The service from the people running it was very good.

Yelp
Great neighborhood supermarket, especially if you cook and eat a lot of Asian food :) or if you're hungover and don't wanna make food, you can drop by and pick up some ready-made Korean dishes. My only complaint is the parking situation: some times, you can go and there are a couple spots; or you go and you have to do that waiting game. Last time I went, I saw some construction going on in the front parking spaces (hopefully they making it more efficient), so be aware that that means there even less space!

Yelp
Ordered #20 hwedupbap for brunch and it was delicious! For $16.33, you get a huge bowl of fresh salmon and veggies with a delicious sauce. Not only that you get a bean sprout soup, kim and side dishes. It takes awhile for the food to come out, but it's worth the wait.
google avatar

Yelp
The H Mart here feels smaller than their other locations. I usually go to H Mart for the food court and this is on the smaller end, too, and tucked away on the side. It's so convenient to grab a meal here and then do your grocery shopping. The lunch portions were great and very filling. It was okay finding a parking spot on a weekday but can imagine how busy this is on the weekend.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a pretty popular Korean grocery store. I can tell just by looking at the parking lot and seeing how busy the traffic is. And to find a parking spot here is very difficult unless you are lucky. But if you do find a spot, you will find the trip rewarding. They got a big variety of Korean groceries. I come here mostly to find Korean noodles and slacks. But was a little disappointed to find just one or two aisles to look for my selections? The produce section is nice and decent. Other than that, the place is nice, clean, and organized. There is even a nice Korean take-out restaurant right next door that serves decent Korean food. This is ideal to take care of a lot of stuff in one trip.

Yelp
I went in for some groceries and notice they have this food court in the side, great timing for some sit down lunch. I've been to a couple of H mart in the queens area, but never seen a food court inside the supermarket, It was my lucky day. I ordered the spicy pork Lunch box $17, it seemed pricy when I ordered it at the time. When I got the order it came with a side salad, bean sprout soup, a pack of seed weed, radish kimchi, and white rice, It was a huge portion. The amount of the sides they gave made the price more reasonably. The food was delicious, the quality was like dining in a Korea restaurant. I ended up taking some on the go, due to a good amount of left over. I would definitely come back again and try the other lunchboxes, they also have soup and tofu pots I would love to try. I left this spot with such a great experience. If your in the area to buy some groceries, also stop buy and get some amazing lunch.

Yelp
When I am in my parent's neighborhood this is the closest H mart around. Its smaller then many of the other H marts but then i don't have to travel into flushing or northern blvd with traffic and parking. On the weekends this is super-busy and parking is also hard to find. I learned to just go in the evening on a weekday so not to go with the rush. They have the seaweed soup with seafood that i like ( another hmart i go go has only seaweed beef) and the tofu seafood soup with out kimchi. They also have a huge selection of premade, pickled, and marinated items. Everything that i usually look for. The fresh seafood is in the back and they are fresh and produce when you just enter. On this particular day for some reason i didn't get a cart or a basket and was just going in to pick up a few items ( but ended up with more then the few i needed) the lady that was working by the freezer ( with the prepared tofu, corn and food area) saw my struggle and gestured me to come over and she put my stuff in a clear bag, which was much easier to carry. THANK YOU. Its a very nice community supermarket with everything you need. Its not very satisfying to walk around vs the larger supermarkets, but i rather this friendly H mart. The ambiance is its a food court with a good selection of korean food and i think one of the best ones i had in h marts. But seating is limited and everyone is super close. I usually get my to go. Oh yes there is also a small Paris baguette in the corner where you can get baked goods and they have a selection of

Yelp
This H Mart is likely the biggest one I've been to yet. Its pre-made food section is proper ginormous and there's even a Paris baguette inside, but I wish they had more than one aisle for snacks! Another perk is the parking lot even though it took us a hot minute to actually park on Christmas Eve (Friday). We wanted to go here to get some marinated meat for kbbq at home on Christmas, and while we did have some trouble locating the goods, we were pleased to see that there was a fridge dedicated to marinated meat and plenty to choose from! The octopus option was my favorite, and we ended up mixing some chopped squid from hmart into the marinated octopus. It was simply divine and cooked quick. We got some pork belly and beef too. The pork took longer than the beef to cook, but the wait was well worth it! Aside from the meat, we also got some unique snacks, like seaweed with toasted nuts and stuff, grape flavor Choco pie looking thing, and cream cheese puffs. This hmart is def worth a visit

Yelp
This chain supermarket happens to be the same size as others in New York sans the Long Island City store. Each aisle is clearly labeled in English, Korean, and Chinese for convenience. The store was quite busy when I entered. I ordered some stir-fried anchovies and mixed Korean pancakes. The checkout was fast, and an attendant help customers on the checkout lane to the next open aisle. The groceries here are quite cheap. Will recommend it to others.

Yelp
I agree with another Yelp reviewer that the Stock People particular this one Korean Male with mushroom hair working Thursday 12/28 at 8:45am in the frozen section has anger issues. The stock person pushed the hand truck really close to me, proceeded to hit my purse and no apologies (there was a lot of room to not push the cart near me btw). This particular person has serious problems.

Yelp
I love coming to HMart to stock up on Korean goodies. I highly recommend getting their marinated meats. I have tried their marinated chicken breasts, pork butt, and bulgogi and they were all really delicious! I also get the frozen dumplings, kimchi, and the prepared side dishes & kimbaps as well. The aisles are wide and a bit more spacious than the HMart on Union Street. This HMart also is pretty clean and well stocked. The veggies and fruit are fresh. There's a parking lot at this HMart. There's also a few bus lines that stops here.

Yelp
Terrible customer service!! Haven't been to H Mart in awhile because there was another supermarket in town where I go to now. Decided to drop by here and see how many points I have because Hmart has a point system where you can get money back from the amount you spend at the store. Went to the customer service to check however they were so rude and raised their voice.. At a customer service they were being so rude. Who do you go to when the customer service when they themselves being rude.. Won't be going back here anytime soon.
google avatar

Yelp
This supermarket is very racist! Because I am Chinese, not Korean, I have a bad service attitude, especially the manager of the store. I bought an electric kettle and found that the button was not easy to press and use, so I took it in to change it, but the manager opened the kettle and found that there was water stain and refused to allow the return or exchange, saying that it would affect the enjoyment of the second time and could not be returned or exchanged. He also pointed to the Korean on the side. All the original packaging, including the receipt, had been used and could not be changed. The manager had a very bad attitude, saying that it had been used and could not be changed. If it had not been used and dismantled, he would ask if it had not been opened for trial use. They just write that there are legitimate reasons to return and exchange, which is discrimination that I am Chinese, if I am Korean, I may unconditionally return and exchange it,This supermarket is terrible. It's racist

Yelp
Great H-Mart location with produce and meats always in stock. Always used to come pre-COVID and love the place (and the small restaurant where you can grab great food to go), so I'd give them 5 stars in the past; but, I feel like they aren't doing enough with regard to COVID. Other locations that I've been to limit the number of customers and provide gloves. This location is pretty packed with people who are all willing to squeeze up next to you. One lady was just walking around chatting on the phone up and down one of the aisle! This is not the time for chit chat! Onto the foods, they have a great assortment of meat and seafood. They have some marinated meats, which are really convenient if you aren't in the mood to make your own marinade or just want something quick for dinner. Their marinated bulgogi is a little tough, but their spicy pork is great. They also have a huge selection of Lee Kum Kee sauces which is amazing especially since it isn't even a Korean brand! Their snack section is also plentiful and packed with Korean snacks. Besides their Lee Kum Kee section, there aren't too many Chinese spices/ foods so I would mostly just recommend the place for Korean foods (as you may expect lol). Their fruits are generally very sweet and they have an abundance of whatever fruit happens to be in season.

Yelp
The food court is a disappointment after the COVID-19 reopening. I order a pork Kimchee soup. Which I have ordered many times before. I look into my soup there were only 2 pieces of pea side pork in the soup. I went back to the counter and ask her. he must have forgotten to put in the pork into my soup. I was told that after she repeated using the spoon dipping into my soup and found two pea-size pork. And told me here it is. I said my order is with pork and if I wanted Vegetarian, I would have ordered it. I try to support local business but this is not how you go to keep your business going. if you cheat people out of their money

Yelp
Grocery shopping in the time of COVID-19. As a Korean grocery store, this H Mart location does a good job. In addition to high-quality Korean grocery items, including prepared hot foods, I'm also impressed with how they're able to keep their shelves stocked and pretty neat during these times. Prices are not the best you'd find around, and variety of certain items can be limited, but I think the quality makes up for it. My issue with this H Mart is they are not doing nearly enough to promote safety for their staff or customers. Unlike other H Mart locations, they do not limit the amount of people in the store at a time, which leads to overcrowding, and social distancing becomes an impossibility. The line to pay, although quick-moving, wraps around to the back of the store at times. They provide hand sanitizer by the entrance, but do not clean shopping carts in between customers or provide gloves.

Yelp
Insane selection of fruits, veggies & produce and the selection of pre made food is inreal ; just dozens of different salads; tofu; nuts & seafood. Very clean store w wide aisles. I love this store. CC accepted

Yelp
I used to come here every week for my groceries to the point where I racked up over 1000 points on my Hmart shoppers card. This location gets pretty packed on the weekends. It has a Paris Baguette bakery that sells pastries and whole cakes, and a small Korean food court. The produce is always fresh but comes at a higher cost than supermarkets around the neighborhood. This Hmart has great deals on their weekly ad for certain items and they are in stock most of the time. This is definitely my go to supermarket for Korean specialty items like doenjang (soy bean paste), pajeon (pancake mix), and snacks. I found gochujang (red chili paste) shrimp crackers, green tea pocky, and the best Korean bbq Cheetos! ($5) If you haven't tried it before, you have to get yourself a bag.

Yelp
We just love HMart. Everything is so clean and nice looking. I enjoy sampling all the different kimchees. We buy a large container every couple months. And I leave it either in the basement fridge or the fridge in the garage because the smell just knocks you right in the face! LOL. But it's sooo good. I say once every couple months because I need to air out the fridges for a few weeks afterwards. Man, does that stuff wreak. But so damn tasty. But back to HMart. We love it because of the above and because of how polite and courteous the staff are. What a difference it is from one of them Chinese super markets, which we also frequent. You can't go strictly to any one place. You have to know where to go for what. Sometimes it's worth the abuse to go Chinese when you want cheap but good produce, live fish, and frozen chinese foods. But, we always come to HMart for their sushi grade fish, nori, rice, kimchee, etc. And did I mention the staff? Such a pleasure to deal with. Especially the ladies at the Kimchee and check out counters. It just makes my day to say hi to them and smile and get the same back. LOL.

Yelp
Five stars because everything is well stocked and fresh even during COVID. Compared to other HMarts I've gone to during this time, this one is smaller than the newer HMarts but all the registers are always open and I don't feel like I wait on line very long when I am done shopping. Of course depending on the time you visit you may have to wait to get in but I generally come really early on weekdays or late in the day on weekends and find what I need and go on my way. One key difference during COVID is that this HMarts doesn't provide plastic gloves for you while shopping which others out on Long Island will provide. Hand sanitizers are available right when you walk in.

Yelp
H Mart is my favorite go to Korean supermarket that sells pretty much anything you need for to make a Korean dish. They sell Korean side dishes, such as seasoned squid, seasoned seaweed, and much more that you should check out! I also like to buy their daifuku mochi that come in a pack of 6 because I have yet to find that at any other supermarket. The supermarket is kept very clean and organized. They also have samples on the weekends that always make the visit more enjoyable. Although the prices are on the more expensive side in comparison to other supermarkets, they have weekly sales that are worth looking out for. Staff is friendly and H Mart is a nice place to shop that has a customer-oriented mission. There is a food court too, but I have not tried the food there yet. The Paris baguette is located next to the check out area.
google avatar

Faiza K.

Yelp
Its my favorite Asian supermarket. It basically has everything you need. It has great Korean meats, their produce is always fresh, and the checkout ladies are always super nice. I'd recomend the Asian pears to everyone. They're the absolute best. And once in a while treat yourself to the super expensive fruits. They're totally worth it. Always super clean as well. Sushi grade fish in the back as well.
google avatar

Terri C.

Yelp
Sooooo clean and soooooooo organized The parking lot gets so full and tight and i nearly hit someone (thank goodness for back up cams) veryyyy ethnic choices, especially for korean and chinese, and only some staff speaks english. Some of the staff speaks spanish, too, so that was nice. Majority of the Hmart-goers are always satisfied, and tends to come back. The prices reflect a bit of the high quality, so do not expect too many sales. Ocassionally, they have Manager's specials.
google avatar

Royce L.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and I'm not sure why it gets such a low rating. There are a few H Marts to choose from in this area and I think this is one of the better ones. They have a small parking lot and there's also another parking lot for the businesses next door, which I think ends up taking the overflow parking for their store. There is some street parking but that's usually tough to find an open spot. The store is set up like most grocery stores with the fresh fruit and vegetables right as you walk in. They also have fresh fish in the back. Most of the stuff here is Korean but they do have some Chinese and Japanese things as well. I like their selection of fresh banchan as well. Prices in general are a little more at H Marts but some of the stuff they have is also harder to find. For the most part I don't mind but you can find some stuff cheaper at other asian supermarkets. There's also a Paris Baguette here but it's really just a counter and they don't have seating here.

Yelp
Before H Mart opened in San Francisco, I had gone to this grocery store for groceries in Koreatown in Manhattan and Bayside. Both locations were convenient to where I lived momentarily and I found what I was looking for. Having been to both locations in NYC, I have a positive review of H Mart. Unlike a small Korean grocery market in Fresno, I didn't struggle to find anything as far as my grocery store experience goes in NYC. With the business decision to open in the SF Bay Area, one mistake is that they have not opened in Oakland, CA nearby the Koreana market that had been historically popular amongst college students. With the competing Korean market(s) in San Jose and Daly City, it makes sense to open in Oakland, CA, too. Perhaps, H Mart doesn't know San Jose and Oakland have market customers as exact as I imagine.

Yelp
Coronavirus Diary Day 56 - 5/9/2020 This H Mart in Bayside is small and crowded. Unlike other H Marts in New Jersey, this location doesn't provide gloves or hand sanitizers. Shopping cart handles were not wiped after use either. Produce section seemed underwhelming. Social distancing wasn't practiced at all. They let too many people into the store to the point it was crowded. Register lines were a big mess. I didn't notice any marks on the floor where you're supposed to wait before they ring you up. I would avoid this H Mart until this Coronavirus chaos is over.

Yelp
One of the CLEANEST H-Marts in town. I've been a regular here ever since I've moved into Fresh Meadows & I'm very happy with the quality of the produce as well as the service that I've experienced here at Bayside H-Mart. I am certainly biased as I say these good things about them (because I'm Korean). But let me tell you... in terms of cleanliness & availability & friendliness of the staff, aside from it being an Asian supermarket.. it's top notch by any standards! The produce section is the best! They have almost everything you need, ranging from common household staples, like mixed greens & fruits, to more complex unique items like Napa cabbage, red-leaf lettuce & pickled radish wraps. They have such a WIDE variety of different things & it's so well organized that you won't have any problems finding anything. Quick tip: look for the weekly deals on certain items, like scallions or mushrooms (they'll display it in either black or red on the price cards above the respective items). Of course, there are ample amounts of produce bags conveniently located in each station as well. Super well thought out placements. As shown in my pictures, they have hardwood flooring all throughout the store, so that's a plus. And everything is super clean all throughout & they have guys & gals in orange hmart uniforms constantly cleaning or restocking. It just makes me feel like I'm shopping in a very high-end classy grocery store. There's a nice seafood section in the back where they prepare, custom cut, and bag fresh seafood daily. They're super thoughtful & nice. Wrapping around the back is the frozen section as well as the meats. Their meats are very high quality, as compared to other places I've gone to around the area (like Food Universe/Key Food). As you come further towards the front, there's a nice big organized section dedicated specifically to serving hot & cold cooked Korean entrees & side dishes. In the past, I remember my mom at times would always buy some of these in bulk & bring them home so I've been doing the same in marriage. Everything is delicious & made ready to go (PERFECT for commuters who barely have time to cook). They also have a nice marinated meat section where they sell marinated bulgogi, kalbi, dak galbi, chicken legs/thighs & more for cheap. Definitely need to check it out! Also, for the kimchi fanatics out there, they have a WHOLE aisle just for kimchi, all different kinds & cuts & marinades. Heavenly. Then you have a well known Korean bakery (that my wife loves), Paris Baguette, located right in the front by the registers. They don't have everything, but you should be able to get most items. Also, there's a food court that's attached next to the bakery as well, which sells bomb korean food. You have to check it out. I've tried almost everything on the menu in the past (pre-COVID). It's pretty decent Korean food that comes out super quick (there's also ample seating available indoor & outdoor). It's almost impossible to list every single item in the store, but I hope I've convinced you enough to go check them out. My only complaint would be that they don't have a readily accessible restroom in sight. (They direct you downstairs in a dark & sketchy storage room that isn't clearly labeled or anything). Also, the parking lot does get pretty hectic at times, but with some patience, you'll definitely find one. Solid, 4/5 place for groceries & food

Yelp
Great H mart location with most if not all the basics. Not the biggest H Mart I've ever visited, but far from the smallest. The staff are attentive and I really appreciate when they help me bring back the shopping cart, especially when I'm parked towards the back of the parking lot. Speaking of which, parking can be hard to find, especially during Friday - Sunday.

Yelp
I enjoy going to this Hmart, it's clean and the staffs that work their are friendly and helpful. Fruits and veggies looks really fresh. Everything is pretty well organized. This Hmart location is abit out of the way for me but I prefer this location as it's less crazy in the parking lot and inside the store itself.
google avatar

Patricia M.

Yelp
Parking was spacious, just waited for 5 mins and immediately got a spot. A lady is offering hand sanitizer at the entrance and cleans the cart, my only complaint is the prices were VERY high, for a few veggies, ssamjang, drinks, sweet potato noodles ($12.99 for 1 kg!) soda and shaved pork, I paid more than $100. Will definitely only be back when I need to cook something special. It's my son's bday & he requested Samgyeopsal at home. But this is not a place to get my weekly groceries for my family of 5 unless I'm willing to budget $500/week. Ridiculously expensive.

Yelp
I bought it by today afternoon, and I was feel excite about this. But when I was finished a piece of rice cake, and I just saw a hair just under my food...! This is the wors thing have today! There is a hair under my food!It is Ridiculous...

Yelp
Great place to get your groceries with a lot of variety but they have horrible customer service. Please train your cashiers they are so rude!!

Yelp
This supermarket is superb! It has a great selection of asian food. And there are lots of food sampling given at the aisles. The place is clean and well organized. Definitely worth coming to this place!

Yelp
What happened??? The yookgaejang used to be so good here... Went today and the first spoonful we spit out. The soup tasted sour... Like something went bad. Really bad. Maybe the shredded beef or the braken (gosari)? It was so off putting... We took it immediately back to the counter and the chef tasted it, looked confused, and said he'd remake it for us. 30 mins later, we were still standing there...waiting for the food. Right when we were about to ask for a refund, they said 3 mins...and we just asked for them to wrap it to go. Was too long to wait. We used to love the yookgaejang here... But everything about that soup we had today was wrong. Even the side dish kimchi... Was soooo fermented and sour...inedible. And I'm korean. I love all kimchi and never leave anything behind but I couldn't touch the stuff they put out today. So disappointing. Won't be eating here for a while.

Yelp
Right now is 10:47 and this security guard is telling all Asian customers , no it is closed . And u can't pull any shopping cart. Then suddenly a Spanish guy came and he said , you can go in . Meanwhile the store door said closed at 11:00... today is 6/30. I hope H mart is taking this seriously. Coz not only discriminate type of customers you want them to come in , but also if you close at 10:47, then u should say on the door. Hopefully h mart management can tell their staff the right and wrong . This security guard is disgusting . He wants to go home ! We understand but he is working right now .

Yelp
Where else am I going to get soondubu, nengmyun, galbi, banchan, Paris Baguette pastries and coffee, and a delicious watermelon other than this Hmart location?? This Hmart is so out of the way from where I slumber after eating myself into oblivion BUT this is the Hmart I will only recommend to people to go because you can have literally all your Korean food fix under one roof. As long as you do not request live action barbeque then you're in heaven!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite grocery places, thanks to consistently fresh produce and seafood in particular. As home cooking got more popular these days, we enjoyed grilling branzino from here. I must say though that compared to the other Hmart that I go to, they didn't hand out plastic gloves nor limit people inside the premises during the heat of COVID 19.

Yelp
When I don't want to deal with huge crowds or be stuck in traffic for hours on end, I come here. The prices aren't nearly as cheap as the grocery stores you'll find off Kissena but the fact that there's a parking lot keeps me coming back. This H Mart is my favorite of the many H Marts around the Flushing area since it's much bigger and has never disappointed me in terms of things I need. There's a Korean eatery inside where I'll go for a cheapish bite with M. The food is always tasty and comes with delicious banchan. There's also a Paris Baguette located inside filled with a bunch of yummy pastries. Anytime I've needed any sort of Korean or even Japanese grocery item, I can find it here plus more. The amount of ban chan this place has blows my mind. SO many varieties! I like that they have every single ingredient I'll ever want for hot pot like veggies, noodles, rice cakes, fish balls, seafood, and thinly sliced beef. They do have an aisle of American grocery items so you can pretty much find everything you'll need here.

Yelp
Everyone has that one Korean Market where they do their usual grocery shopping. Well, here's mine. They're very clean and they always have items on stock, occasional sales on my favorite items, and samples during dinner time. My favorite. They also have Paris Baguette and Korean food cafeteria.

Yelp
Still pretty well sticks with fresh produces and proteins even during NYS pandemic lick down, first time I'm able to get in since there's line waiting all the way around the block and parking lot

Yelp
Clean store. Small, doesn't always have everything I need. Prices are a lot more expensive compared to other asian markets. For example, the exact same Boba Ice-Cream here is $2 more a box than a Chinese supermarket I also go to. No one speaks English so it's hard to ask for help. Female cashiers are extremely rude. Parking can be busy and limited. Overall, would recommend because it's local and clean.

Yelp
I like going to this H Mart even though sometimes it is out of my way because it is clean and neat. The food is definitely not the cheapest but it is pretty solid. I usually go in to pick up some sashimi freshly sliced in the morning and some package Uni. Then I'll browse around and pick up some condiments if needed but I usually head to the prepared food section and pick up a package of fresh kimchi dumplings and already prepped bibimbap meal. I just need to add rice and fried egg on top. I have to say, there's a sales lady who gives out samples in the prepared food section and she really either needs to be making commission or more money. She really pushes the product and is extremely polite and friendly. I've spoken to her many times about the kimchi dumplings I'm always looking for(which they haven't had for a while) and she always sells me on something else. It was only today I found out her name is Diana and she was Taiwanese and spoke Mandarin. It was just ironic because I assumed she was Korean. Point is, Chinese or Korean, unimportant because she's a great sales person! It's a pretty good deal considering it feeds two people for under $10. You can also go to the takeout/cafeteria section and buy a meal already cooked but it costs more. The price is not outrageous considering how much they charge at a regular Korean restaurant and it's pick it up yourself so no need for tip.

Yelp
Listen folks, not every asian supermarket is created equally. H-Mart truly has set the bar high! Clean, well stocked, well mannered and groomed workers. The folks who work here take pride in their job! Well lit and marked aisles, shelves well stocked with all your favorite Asian, Korean snacks and an impressive display of Kim Chi. Featured food items of the day are offered up as samples for you to taste as you roam the aisles filling up your cart. The air is also filled with the intoxicating aroma of Korean food and spices cooked up by the little cafe located inside the store. It also houses the "Paris Baguette Bakery" the bakery is small and limited in baked goods. The fish and meat department offer up a nice variety. The only real drawback to this place is the limited parking and it's more pricier as compared to other Asian supermarkets in the area But if you're a real stickler when it comes to having everything neat and tidy, this place would be a perfect fit for you, but you're gonna pay for that privilege.

Yelp
Walked in just to have lunch at the cafeteria built within the supermarket. Prices are a bit expensive but don't judge a book by its cover. We order the kimchi beef stew, which is a spicy broth with lots of garlic, shredded beef, glass noodles and let me tell you that you will sweat hot and heavy while consuming this spicy broth. It came with a side of white rice and pickled spicy cucumber. There was another sise dish which had other pickled vegetables but i was not able to eat it. To be honest this stewed could have been a meal for 2 people given the amount of food. My wife ordered stir fry octopus in a garlic, chili sauce with sweet onions. Excellent dish, savory, spicy it cane with a side of rice and a small soup. Lunch was $22, plenty of food. I just think next time we will share a meal since they give you a good size portion. Note, just about every dish on the menu is spicy, so if spicy is not to your taste, this is not the place for you. Definitely is a one stop shop, lunch and you can get your food shopping done!

Yelp
Good location but compared to the other H Mart's in Queens, I would rank this one smaller than the others. All the ready to eat foods, kimbap, squid, all the good stuff were sold out quick. There's really not much here if you've been to the on Union St or Francis Lewis Blvd. a bit disappointing considering how big their parking lot is.

Yelp
Fun friendly supermarket for all. Would definitely shop here again specially for the amazing prepared food. Usually I would get stew tofu kimchi in a jar and basically everything my taste buds would want. This place is easy my top places to shop for food.
