On the Grid : H Mart

"H Mart is a pristine supermarket chain specializing in Korean and other Asian foods and housewares. There's a great selection of high quality produce, exotic fruit (logan, dragon fruit, Korean melon, sugar plums, durian, banana flower, jack fruit) and seafood. With lots of grazing opportunities at food sampling stations and row upon row of colorful imported packaged foods, it's well worth the trip just to browse." - ph Design Shop

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Went there for a bit when I was in Asia Town in Katy. Best decision ever that day! They have everything you could want, even a small food court with different small restaurants. Great variety of Korean foods as well which I love.. ready to eat foods as well. I tried the Bao Buns in the cafeteria (Caobao Hot Steamy Buns) with chicken curry and the other with spicy brisket. Both were really good but my fave was the chicken curry.

If you're in Katy, Texas, and looking for an authentic Asian grocery experience, look no further than H Mart. This vibrant supermarket, which opened its doors in 2014, is a treasure trove for anyone interested in Asian cuisine and beyond. Originally founded in 1982 in New Jersey, H Mart has expanded to over 90 locations across the United States, becoming a beloved destination for food lovers. H Mart is not just about Asian products; it offers a diverse selection from various culinary traditions. You'll find everything from fresh produce, meats, and seafood to a wide array of pantry staples and snacks. The supermarket features an impressive bakery that serves delightful pastries and breads, adding a sweet touch to your shopping experience. In fact, their bakery is a must-visit. One of the standout features of H Mart in Katy is its seafood department, which I consider one of the best I've encountered. The freshness of their fish and shellfish is unmatched, making it an ideal spot for seafood enthusiasts. Coupled with the vibrant, crisp vegetables that line the aisles, this market ensures that you can easily prepare authentic Asian dishes at home. Inside the supermarket, you'll also find a food court offering a variety of cuisines. From Korean barbecue to Japanese sushi, there's something for everyone. Each eatery provides a unique taste of Asia, allowing you to enjoy a meal before or after your shopping. H Mart is located within what many refer to as "Asia Town," a bustling area filled with diverse shops and eateries, creating a lively atmosphere that celebrates Asian culture. This neighborhood is a fantastic place to explore, with numerous options for dining and shopping. Whether you're on the hunt for common grocery items or unique ingredients that you can only find here, H Mart in Katy is the place to be. From the largest variety of kimchi and rice to an extensive range of Asian condiments and both fresh and frozen products, you will discover everything you need to cook authentic dishes at home. In summary, H Mart is a must-visit for anyone in the Katy area. Its combination of high-quality products, diverse offerings, and the vibrant atmosphere of Asia Town makes it a shopping experience like no other. Don’t miss out on the chance to explore this supermarket and all it has to offer!

This place is awesome! You can see photos to get the gist of just how many Asian flair restaurants and eateries there actually are at H Mart. I have never been here before and went with a friend that lives in Katy. We picked a Noodle House, which was sooooooo good! The service was exceptional, the food was so fresh and soooooo good! But honestly, it was next to impossible to choose which one! There was everything from Sushi, Poke, Dumplings, Pho, Noodle Houses, unique dessert & coffee shops - I have never seen anything like it before! I cannot wait to take my mom here. She’s a dumplings fanatic (we’re Korean and she lives in a small town with absolutely no Asian options that even resembles authentic). But I would highly recommend this place - for pretty much any chill outing - be it quick, or just for fun. It’s awesome if you’ve got a group that can’t decide what they want!!! There’s any amazing waffle/crepe/coffee place where we got iced chai and iced matcha lattes after we ate! So good!

H-Mart is an absolute gem! I recently visited for the first time and was completely blown away. The selection of goods is incredible, with everything from fresh produce to pantry staples to unique snacks I've never seen before. It's a foodie's paradise! Beyond the amazing variety, I was also incredibly impressed with how clean and well-organized the store was. Everything was easy to find, and the displays were beautifully arranged. It made for a really enjoyable shopping experience. If you're looking for high-quality Asian groceries and a fantastic shopping environment, look no further than H-Mart. I can't wait to go back!

Google
Avoid the mangosteen at H Mart. The quality was poor, the fruit was in bad condition and not fresh. The cashier’s attitude was also unfriendly. On top of that, I was overcharged: this batch weighed only 2.91 lbs, but I was charged for 3.3 lbs. Very disappointing experience

Google
Visited this market today with a friend and was blown away! The variety was incredible, with everything from familiar staples to intriguing new ingredients I can't wait to try. The produce section was a standout – everything looked so fresh and vibrant. I'm already planning my next trip back to stock up on goodies and explore more of what this market has to offer. Highly recommend!

We love HMart. After lunch at Tan Tan Wok/Jia Kitchen, we decided to stop by to get some fruits and look for the HDL hot pot set. Unfortunately, this location didn't have it. They had plenty of the viral mango ice cream.

Yelp
Just came back from a month in Thailand and miss the larger Asian grocery stores. I don't have them in MN. It can be a bit overwhelming how large of a selection they have but once I got over the initial excitement, I stocked up. Wished I had time to try their food court. The food looked delicious! The staff were helpful and checkout out went faster than expected.

Yelp
While shopping here, I felt like I was in Thailand doing grocery shopping, lol. This was a very nice Asian market. One of the customers gave me some great vegetarian ideas. I'm not a vegetarian, but I do like to eat vegan/vegetarian foods. The aisles were nicely arranged, and the staff was helpful. I really liked that there was not a bad smell in this market. I bought some groceries to make some Ramen noodles and when I got home I made it and everything was good. The sausage I brought from here were a bit too sweet to be added in the rain noodles. I do plan to use the rest of them with breakfast since most breakfast foods are sweet. The crab paste is tasteful, and I will be using it when I do a crab boil. My son brought items to make Pad Thai. We both said we will be going there again. The minor issue was there was less space on the aisles due to staff putting items on the shelfs with lots of boxes on the aisles.

Yelp
Disgusting cruel unethical treatment of their live fish. We saw a large catfish flopping in the middle of the floor. We told an older Korean guy who worked there who looked at the fish after we pointed it out and his response is, I don't care and walked away. I told customer service because another employee told me to go there. They didn't want to do anything either. I pointed out how messed up it was to let a fish just die slowly and probably just chop it up and sell the fish to customers tmr. They probably faked calling someone to get it on the walkie just to get me to leave but this is the kind of supermarket H mart is and the attitude was downright disgusting. I would think twice before supporting them. I eat meat but letting animals suffer unnecessarily because of downright laziness carelessness is so disgusting.

Yelp
Stopped by after having lunch with my mother in law at Tan Tan Wok. We just walked around quickly to look around. They seem to have a lot of great things! At the entrance they have a little plushy shop with super cute things. There's also a restaurant and a bakery inside. I ended up grabbing some frozen chicken lumpia and some carbonara buldak noodles. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
We were in the Katy area and had to make a stop at H-Mart to try out their premade foods and restock on groceries, such as coconut milk. It's really fun and there's so much variety of food here. However, not everything is delicious, IMO. We tried a bunch of foods, which doesn't even scratch the surface of what you can get here. But, here's a breakdown of what we think were worth trying and those that were not: - gimbap: absolutely worth it. Love all the veggies in this and the touch of sesame oil. - japchae: great texture from the noodles and veggies; nice sesame oil flavor throughout. - tuna mayo onigiri: this was pretty good. We enjoyed the vinegary rice with the tuna and mayo. The seaweed wrapper remained crispy. But, it was just humbug to open the package. - spicy sauce and soy garlic fried chicken: we didn't like this. It was too sweet, and the texture of the chicken was rubbery. - dumplings: too doughy, the filling was good. - veggie egg roll: not crispy, flavor was just ok - premade tteokbokki: flavor was pretty good. It was spicy. - frozen crazy spicy tteokbokki: TBD - premade spam musubi: TBD Overall, Hmart is such a fun grocery store to try out all kinds of Asian foods. If you've never been to an Hmart before, check them out and have fun exploring all kinds of foods and ingredients.

Yelp
Pros: has everything. We always bring our cooler to Houston. And we fill it up with pre marinated meats and bonchan. This store is clean and doesn't smell as bad as other Asian grocery stores. Lines move fast. Plenty of parking spots. Cons: none I can think of.

Yelp
I'm not that S-mart but I know a K-mart when I see them, and this is not one of those. This is an H-mart. Not to be confused with your mother's painting store (Momart). Yes. H Mart. Not to be confused with Ache Mart which is where you buy painkillers. If they welcomed you at the door (they don't) it'd be Hello Mart. If they sold slutty shoes for my porn girl (they don't) they'd be Heel Mart. If they sold devilish kinky accessories for my sinful girl (they don't) then they'd be Hell Mart. This is the H Mart in Katy, and it is one which we go to regularly when we visit Katy Asian Town, because it has one of the best food courts in the whole of the Houston region. It's filled with really delicious options which are a little on the expensive side but very exciting. The grocery store part of H Mart is great, filled with international imports, perhaps a little expensive but one of the best places out there to shop. However, it's the food court that keeps us coming back. Whether you have a Tooth H or a Tummy H, you can find something to make you feel better here at H Mart. Also, did you know, Jesus H. Mart was a guy that founded a bunch of grocery stores which are now loved and followed religiously in NJ and other places.

Yelp
My family and I came here to eat at their food court. The portions are generous and are affordable! I got the wonton soup (#10) and this was $10.99 from Chef Han. The soup was huge! I was surprised by how generous the portion was. There were lots of vegetables and they didn't skimp on the wontons either. I also got beef kimbap from the stall next door. It came with 10 pieces and was only $6! My brother got a bento box ($10). And my parents got the curry katsu ($10). We all enjoyed our food and would definitely come back!

Yelp
Love this store! We stop by anytime we go out towards this area to eat. My wife enjoys the vegetables selection and I love their seafood market. Employees are always friendly and super helpful. They also have a food court on the far right side of the market so you can sit down and enjoy before you get some shopping done. Come show your support and check out Katy's H Mart if you're in the area.

Yelp
Check this place out for all the authentic goodies and food. At the entrance, they have a little gift shop with Pokémon, hello kitty, and other characters. Kick knacks like socks, backpacks, etc. Its all really cute. They also have a beauty section with all kinds of masks. Isles filled with items not typically found in the regular grocery store. But do not leave here without hitting up at least one of the resturants in their little food court. I've had from 3 of the places, and they were all delicious, sushi (fresh rolled), bulgogi beef, the buns, noodles, all of it super yummy. Make sure and hit the dessert isle and grab a yummy treat. This store is just fun and even the kids like to go in there a d grab food just from the labels and try them out. Go shop this place and apologize to your wallet and budget afterward. It's worth it!

Yelp
KATY, TX / ASIAN SUPERMARKET / BI-WEEKLY / GROCERIES -The Katy H Mart is not as nice as the Blalock Rd or Bellaire Blvd locations, meaning they don't carry as many Korean products that I usually shop for. -The various kimchis at this location are not that great, which forces us to travel an additional 30 minutes to the Blalock Rd location. I wish the Houston H Marts were as nice as the East and West Coast stores, but I am guessing it's due to the less diverse demographics; either that, the backend store managers don't know what to order. Wish List: 'More Korean produce. 'More Korean/Asian fruits. 'More Korean snacks and ramen. 'Better kimchis and ban chan.

Yelp
As one of the newer H Marts in Texas, this location is the anchor point of Katy's growing pseudo Asian enclave (#1) and happens to be my favorite H-Town in the greater Houston area. It's big, clean, and shows off a lot of what most H-Marts do well. While it's the only H-Mart in Katy, it is one of 3 in the Houston metropolitan area, which is more than any other area in the state. Speaking of the Texas, it is massive. (#2) From the parking lot to most of the aisles, it's incredibly spacious and abundant in every direction. Even in the 4 years in which it's been open, the popularity hasn't resulted in much wear-n-tear of the place at all and everything from the food court to the bathrooms are super clean. Most things are organized and easy to find, which is a must for any quality grocery store. I've been pretty impressed with their produce, which seems to be on the higher quality end and there's a good section for organic items. The seafood selection is also really fabulous, as is their selection of meats in the butcher / deli area. It sounds overly redundant to mention this, but the Asian snacks (especially Korean ones) variety is beyond excellent. I don't think any H-Mart would be complete without the latter. Then of course, there's the extra stuff which includes beauty products from The Face Shop, pastries and baked goods from Tous Les Jours, a bustling food court with numerous eateries, and the added benefit of being next to all the stellar restaurants in Asia-Town. Most if not all the H-Marts are the same overall, but I think this one in Katy happens to be one that stands out over the rest. _____________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/katy-asian-town-katy (#2) Truly, everything is bigger here in the Lonestar State.

Yelp
Love this grocery store. Endless options to satisfy any cravings. Their pre packaged meals are sneaky good. Pretty cool to have a food court with many different asian cuisines as well. It isn't hyper focused on one nationality either - whether you want Filipino, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, or etc they have the ingredients to make your national dish.
google avatar

Carolyn C.

Yelp
Great food court - very clean and many yummy dining options, such as Bao, Ramen, Yakitori, Sushi, Chinese, Korean BBQ and Korean Fried Chicken. Hubby had Tonkatsu Bento from Sushi Hara while I had Spicy Korean Pork Bulgogi from Jang Guem Tofu and BBQ. Good stop if one in party is craving sushi while another wants Korean cuisine. Prices are higher than at a regular food court, but the food is closer to restaurant quality, and the portions are generous.

Yelp
Loved this place! D Ample parking, tasty food mall and a variety of items in the grocery! This location is by far my favorite one. It's clean and modern on the inside. I tried several items from different spots in their food mall. Delish Korean ribs, calamari, some of the creamiest ice cream ever, shishito peppers and more. Everything was well seasoned and delish! Can't wait to return!
google avatar

Yelp
This is an awesome H mart! Great produce, wide variety of kimchi, super selection. You may need to ask for some assistance finding things around the store, but if you have the time I suggest going up and down each aisle and excavating for your own yummy treats. Loved the Turtle chips ( does not contain real turtle) in the sweet corn flavor.

Yelp
What an array of choices and a excellent food court to boot ! From fresh meat to fresh fish and vegetables

Yelp
Just a clean place, with a variety of items. Like coming here. They also have 3 different restaurants inside, can't remember the name but yeah nice place to go shopping at

Yelp
What a nice store. So well organized and stocked. I was amused by the Hello Kitty toilet paper and tissue. Wasn't so amused by the price. So much fresh fruit and veggies. A nice clean store is fun to shop in.

Yelp
Usually love this place but just opened the sliced lamb pack and it's like 75% fat.. Making hot pot at home just have to watch out for the pieces I pick lol

Yelp
Loved it. Great prices and friendly people we will be coming again and again. Don't miss out on the fresh fish.

Yelp
Love coming here for some snacks or even to try new foods!! It's always clean and organized. Cashiers always ready to help you right away. I especially enjoy taking my little sister since she loves the mini kpop store inside called Eve Pink . I would recommend to come in and jus walk around to see all of the goodness. Still haven't tried the bakery and the mini restaurants inside but one day I plan to !!
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Everything you could possibly want is here. Gifts, bakery, exotic fruits and vegetables, and kitchenware. Can't find something for an Asian recipe? Trust me they have it. The variety of noodles and sauces are astounding. You have to go here. Try something new!
google avatar

Yelp
6 stores in the food court of Hmart Katy: Oh My Gogi, Hoodadak (Korean fried chicken), Jang Guem Todu & BBQ (Korean BBQ), Chef Han, Donkey Yaki, Sushi Hara The food court has a good size of seating area. The market is always clean & bright. The food & veggies are fresh.
google avatar

Henry M.

Yelp
Really impressive. So many options within the grocery store including a bakery and a food court. Grocery lines didn't seem long and the food court didn't take more than 10-15 min. Everything is very clean and organized. Definitely recommend making a trip.

Yelp
Shop smart- shop H Mart! This place is huge! This is one of the largest Asian supermarkets I've ever been to! This place is so gigantic, that it has all these other little Asian businesses that encircle it, making for a little Chinatown in the middle of Katy! The coolest thing about this place is that it also has a food court, where you can sample a lot of the different flavor combinations that Asian cuisine offers that you may have not considered or be familiar, and these offer inspiration for dish ideas! The produce section was pretty amazing- focusing on foreign type produce. I didn't see any durian, but they had all kinds of exotic looking fruits and vegetables that you can't get at the local HEB. They offer aisle after aisle of different canned, boxed, and prepared foods. I came in looking for chili sauces and powders and oils. They delivered and then some. They had so many different varieties that I've never even heard of. I was amazed! The store was clean and well lit, and properly organized with lots of varietals of product inventories. The clerks were fast and efficient at checking us outta there, and we got more than we ever expected out of this place. Parking was a bit on the challenging side- by the time we left, people were parking their cars and trucks out on the grassy areas since there were no more spots in the paved, marked spots.
google avatar

Kathleen D.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. I'm new to town and being in H Mart, I was able to find so many things to make my new place feel like home. There are so many items to choose from. I love how there is like a mini food court to get food from before or after shopping. I will definitely be going back.
google avatar

JaQuille C.

Yelp
I've always wanted to come here and was so excited to see there wasn't one too far from me. There were so many different fruits that I've seen pictures of or have heard about and was finally able to try some. Prices were super affordable. I've been twice now and have tried jackfruit, dragon fruit, Asian pear, rice balls, and some other foods from there prepared section. Wasn't too sure about all of these items but I wanted to try as much as I could. I also stopped by the food court and ate at Chef Han. BEST Mongolian beef that I have ever had, literally. Don't be afraid to try something new! You'll never know what you may find. Side note - there's some awesome shops surrounding the store. Make sure to take a look! Also, don't get the canned boba tea. It's nothing like the real thing.

Yelp
I have been to the H Mart in Bellaire and Memorial. I think this one is my least favorite although it was still very good. No samples on a Sunday. And it seemed smaller than the others for some reason although I could be wrong. The wait in the checkout line was not long. It was clean and they had all the basics. There's a food court with various shops. A bakery too upfront. I wanted to try some but I was stuffed. We did buy a bulgogi musubi for latter. I like how the seaweed outside stayed crisp. The way they package it separates it from the rice to avoid the sogginess you get like if your hand roll sits on the table too long. While I was there someone asked me "where is your wine section?" Yeah, Katy is very white. Actually this kinda stuff happens to me all the time on cruise ships where older white folks tell me their stateroom needs to be cleaned, etc. I just smiled and pointed to a direction. Not sure if it was the right way but it was less awkward than saying I didn't work there.

Yvonne T.

Yelp
My go to place for Asian produce. I especially like coming here for the mango and coconut!
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
Decently stocked Asian market. Much MUCH older than the location in Austin. This one just felt a little dirty and the meat, especially seafood, areas' scent wafted down nearby aisles.
google avatar

Justine L.

Yelp
My favorite market to shop around for food. They have a small food court inside but very good. This is close to home for fast & quick things to grab instead of going to Houston. Everything is fresh here but be careful when you shop here. Coz everything looks good you might end up buying more then you'll need. Lol Highly recommend here for your groceries.
google avatar

Yelp
there was a bunch of foods with the cancer warning on them almost everything that looked good smh. overall wouldn't recommend this h mart.

Yelp
Great selection of meats and produce, friendly people, very clean, love the bakery in the front
google avatar

Yelp
I loved Mart. The store is laid out and labeled so that everything can be easily located. They have every kind of herb, vegetable, and treat that your heart can desire. I loved that they have both places to get savory foods, and pastries within the market. The back contains a fresh meat market with huge crab and lobster as well as a variety of fish. This is definitely a place to check out, especially if you have never had the privilege of shopping at an asian market.

Yelp
Let's get to the chase. This is my favorite HMart location in Houston. The OG one in Spring Branch is the closest but this one stood out. It is ridiculously big. The organization of each section is best of all locations in my opinion. The produce section is so beautifully laid out. The meat and seafood sections are kind of tucked away to prevent the smell from spreading. Plus, the separation made it more aesthetically on the eyes. The food court vendors are also to my liking although I didn't patronize any of them from my last visit. The next time I will probably get some takeout for sure. The bakery located in the front is kinda of small but it was no biggie. Overall I give this place a 5-star rating. The place is new, clean and beautifully organized. I'll come back again if I happen to be in the neighborhood.

Yelp
So glad to see an H Mart in our area. I love the bakery that is inside the one on Blalock and I-10. I was sad to here the girl in the bakery say the don't carry the Asia green tea cupcakes, or the vanilla ones either. The food in the restaurants looked so good. The fried rice was Huge! The aisle we nice and stocked. It was FREEZING in there. I'm NEVER cold (and I mean never) but I had goosebumps the entire time we were there. The products prices were great! And a wide variety of different kinds of fruits and vegetables. I do think this location is smaller than the Blalock location. Return=yes.

Yelp
Reminds me of Zion Mart in my SoCal hometown. Good quality ingredients, packed cleanly, a great food court with delicious street eats, and friendly workers. So happy to find this gem!!

Yelp
I came there on Sunday, around noon. We got in line at the seafood section but the staff didn't notice me it seems Leam (according to his coworker's spelling) served other customer that came after me while he was serving me without checking if I'm fine with that. After that, when he got back to me, no matter what I said and repeated and pointed to the cuttlefishes I wanted, he repeatedly insisted not to pack them and repeatedly said that all cuttlefishes are the same. He finally grabbed me the ones he picked, not what I picked and had the gesture to ask me to leave the seafood section. I came to customer services to file a complaint. They called the manager for me. The manager came, asked me what happened in English. I just told him that I wanted to complain about the service at the seafoods department in English and not even started the story yet. The manager cut me off and responded in Korean then he walked away, to the computer inside CSR counter, leaving me there without understanding what's going on. At first, I thought he tried to contact the seafoods department so I patiently waited. However, after couple minutes, when I checked back, the 2 CSR ladies told me "that's it", he said he would train staffs later even though he didn't know what happened. I asked CSR if the manager can speak English, they didn't say yes or no but just smiled.

Yelp
This review is for the food court and bakery only. For a few years, I have heard coworkers talk about the Spring Branch H-Mart, so I was a little excited when an H-Mart opened in the Katy area. I don't really shop at Asian grocery stores very often. When I do, I get rice, noodles, bao, and maybe a few fruit/vegetables. What I do like most of all are the restaurants and bakery. H-Mart does not disappoint. You can get delicious Korean fried chicken from Hoodadak, Korean BBQ, seafood, Chinese, and Asian Fusion. I remember eating at the Oh My Gogi! Food truck awhile back. On my last stop to H-Mart, my daughter and I had a nice lunch from several places. We first grabbed some awesome fried tofu from Donkey Yaki as an appetizer. My daughter had tasty Korean BBQ Jang Guem and I had the seafood soup special from Chef Han. All of the restaurants are arranged similar to eateries you will find in a shopping mall. You can grab a table in the middle and wait until your number is called on a speaker. No service...order and pickup at each eatery. Awesome food and I like the fact we can get different kinds of food from some of the hip Asian and Asian-Fusion restaurants in the Houston area. Afterwards, we grabbed a few delicious pastries in the front of the store. Great meal.

Yelp
When I heard that they were opening a new Chinatown, I was wondering which supermarket would be the anchor, I guessed it would either be Hmart or Hong Kong, and sure enough it was Hmart. They have been doing expansions similar in other cities and it has been successful. The new expansion in Austin is also anchored by Hmart. They actually make a very clean shopping center. My only complaint is that the supermarker is super cold inside. They have a pretty decent sized food court with many food options.

Yelp
Hmart at Katy Asian town opened! I visited around 9am.It was very early. The store was new and clean.I checked the food court. All of the restaurants were closed. It looked like many interesting restaurants.Just like other Hmarts in Houston, there were many Koreans, Japanese and Chinese products.I saw Kobe beef.I saw a lot of fish.To my surprise, there were many Natto.Natto is a super healthy food from Japan. It seemed that many people were buying Natto.I was looking for a bathroom. I live in Houston.Katy is too far.But I hope to return here soon!

Yelp
New in the Katy area this place gives me a Ranch 99 vibe. The store is big a lot of Asian food which I love. The butcher department is big, there is a separate section for meat and seafood with fresh and live fish. For people like me who love to cook they have the thinly sliced meat to make pho. I went during to open of the store, It was crowded but a lot of samples spot. I would recommend if you haven't went to check out stop by the is so much in there.

Yelp
I never thought I'd be reviewing a grocery store (again) but here we are! I LOVE this H-Mart! The food court is just amazing with so much variety.

Yelp
An interesting place to embrace diversity while shopping for foods, known and unknown. And I just loved the interesting journey through the aisle and finding new things to try.

Yelp
Pretty clean, modern, and close to the house. However, not sure if it's cheaper compared to HEB, 99 Ranch, Viet Hoa, etc. For example, HEB is cheaper for sweetened condensed milk, minced garlic, and imitation crab ($1.50/8 oz on sale) (random things I checked prices for). There are some interesting/unique sweets that you may not be able to find elsewhere, though. It's also freezing cold in there so wear a jacket. We basically came here for hotpot stuff, so here are the prices (mainly for my own future reference): Fried fish tofu (8.46oz) $2.49 Fish balls, miscellaneous (2.2lb bag) $6.99 Frozen section where you can pick you own assorted balls $6.99/lb Lobster balls (1.1lb) $4.99 Beef meatballs (8oz) $1.99 Sliced meats (choice): Ribeye $19.99/lb, Bottom round $9.99/lb, Brisket $14.99/lb Hot BBQ sauce $4.49/small jar (cheaper @ Viet Hoa) Wonton egg noodle (14oz) $1.99 Enoki mushrooms (150gm) 2/$1 Fried tofu (8oz) $1.99 - IT WAS ALL MOLDY!!!!!

Yelp
always a fun adventure here, my boys love seeing all the different types of marine life swimming around & all the unusual fruit/vegg, and places to eat inside (as well as asian town obviously). i find particular things here that i can't find anywhere else or at least not for this price. for example the particular bulgogi marinade we use & love for our house made jerky is here for the best price, but the closer asian grocer to our house charges 5$ minimum so if i need just that then i have to find more whereas h-mart there's no minimum. (yes i'm too lazy to use cash usually). the best sake i've ever had is here in 1.5L size for an unbelievable price, and i've scoured the internet and town looking for it and it's so hard to find a sweet, rich nigori sake, so luckily hmart almost always has this. and always very helpful, friendly service. i'm so glad an hmart is so close by!

Yelp
My favorite Asian grocery store. It's main focus is on korean foods, but you'll find a wide variety of other asian foods too. I know it's not good to go to a grocery store hungry, but I do when I head to Hmart. Reason being, there food court. Besides the awesome grocery pickups I get, the food court is what really draws me here. There's so much food selection at the food court and I usually go overboard and order from more than one stall. It's so good. Whether you want short ribs or black bean noodles, you'll get it there. I went with short ribs (galbi) and spicy tofu soup!

Yelp
Review from a non-Asian: This area is referred to as the Katy Chinatown. I love this H Mart. It's clean, well stocked, but what I love as much as the store is all the Asian restaurants, bakery's and shops surrounding it. For that reason, the food court In This H mart isn't that great and they don't carry store made sushi (although they do have sushimi). You can easily make a day of visiting this location and all the surrounding shops. It's absolutely worth a visit if you are into that sort of thing.

Yelp
This place is great! I come here all the time with my family and girlfriend. It has a lot of Asian delicacies, a food court, and affordable prices. You can spend quite a bit of time here shopping from a variety of snacks, drinks, food, and knick knacks!! Highly recommend if you're in the area! - GrubbyGabe
