Iconic Clerkenwell Restaurant Expands to Hackney Wick | Eater London

"The new outside catering company and adjoining private dining room in Hackney Wick, launched by the two founders of the Exmouth Market restaurant and its tapas offshoot, aims to offer an alternative to ordinary corporate-style catering for special dinners, family celebrations, weddings, canapé receptions, corporate functions and festivals. The group’s food draws on Spanish, North African and Middle Eastern traditions, with recent Cretan influences introduced under head chef Marianna Leivaditaki; catering packages are priced around £35–£50 per person. The Hackney Wick venue, designed by Danish designer Nina Tolstrup of Studiomama, accommodates up to 50 seated guests or 75 for a drinks reception and features a terrace overlooking the River Lea and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. It will also host one-off ticketed events in the space, launching with an exclusive mangal-style dinner hosted by the founders and Leivaditaki, where drinks are served on the terrace, food is cooked over open fire and guests move indoors for a sit-down meal." - Adam Coghlan

Great venue for an 80s themed 40th birthday party! Good range of drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic, polite attentive staff on the whole and a decent easy to use sound system / mixer. Venue allowed us to provide our own food, 11pm pizzas. Orlando was very accommodating and responded quickly via email. Definitely would use venue again.

I recently had my birthday party at the venue and I couldnt recommend it enough. Communication before the party was excellent, helpful and accommodating. On the night, many of my guests commented on how amazing the venue was, and the service was brilliant and very quick. Huge thanks to Meghna and the team!

In a word; wow! From the warm welcome to the calm nature of the service the staff really stand out as both professional and passionate. The sense of relief when entering a 100% vegan establishment is always fulfilling. This particular experience was one of the best we've ever had. The smoothies are excellent, nourishing and original. The summer rolls are timely and refreshing. The burrito is filling and delicate with a very interesting pineapple harissa. Kudos to all involved in this project, may it long prosper and evolve.

I had a fantastic night at the Hackney Event Space for my 50th birthday. The space was perfect for our needs, we had plenty of room to dance while still having enough chairs/tables for guests to relax; and the sound system was clear and loud enough throughout the room. The bar and door staff were friendly, relaxed and efficient, and they were happy to make adjustments to the room as and when needed. Many of my friends complimented the venue and staff, this is exactly the kind of place we like to party in, no fuss or moodiness, just a fun and funky vibe!!

Medicinal and Nourishing food. Menu is wholesome and well balanced and I want to try everything! Had the Nachos and Rainbow bowl which were ace. Organic kombucha was tasty and I finished off with this beautiful golden turmeric hot drink with oat milk, a work of art with edible flowers. Staff were super friendly Aussie gals who know how to run a cafe. Will definitely return.

Like a walled off garden, this cafe delivers its healing vibe with a hermetic warm analog space-feel, medicinal-grade food, and beautiful souls behind the bar. The classic vinyl soundtrack took me to a California home recording studio listening den on a Sunday in the 70s. Turmeric, superfoods, greens, white shoes...if you love these things come here to eat and drink. You'll find yourself nourished.

We held a private party here last week - fantastic venue! Staff were great, sound system easy to work and use, music played loud, we ordered pizzas in, drinks tasty - organisation all very smooth with excellent communication - a fabulous night! Thanks Orlando and the gang.
