"You’ll still find harees year-round in Barkas, like at the long-standing Madina Hotel and Hadrami Harees, two restaurants that inspire long lines of customers as early as 5 a.m." - Anusha Kulal

A small yet very welcoming outlet on street. You grab the Harees and sit on roadside chairs to enjoy the taste. Opens early in morning around 5:30AM and closes by 9AM. There are 2 flavours of Harees, sweet and sour. If you want less quantity ask for "single". Single costs 60 while full plate is 100. For any hungry soul, the taste is worth it.

A bit of a crowded place, you will definitely have a different taste other than regular haleem. Please do not expect the same taste as you usually have let it be your sweet haleem Or it can be your spicy haleem. Spicy haleem also has a blunt taste not much of spices added. If not regular I'm sure it would be difficult for your body to accept sweet haleem so please be more cautious about that. Talking about quantity it is very good but prices are also accordingly i.e Rs 100plate. If you want to try something different it is a must visit. They also have black tea next to it too. The above ratings are my personal experience so do not hold back to have a different experience of haleem. The best thing about this place is the service it is very fast and they are very humble which is rare according to the surroundings it is situated in.

A unique experience for sure. Must give it a try at least once The sweet harees taste like milk and roti combo. And the spicy one is good too. We went there around 7am, didn't expect the place to be crowded with customers, we still managed to reach in time before it was finished.

The phrase Harees originally came from (Daliya) which was used in the Prophet Muhammad PBUH times. The first written recipe of Harees dates back to the 10th century when Arab scribe Abu Muhammad Al-Muzaffar Ibn Sayyar compiled a cookbook of dishes prominent with the "kings, caliphs, lords, and rulers" of Arabs Harees, jareesh (Arabic: هريس) is a dish of boiled, cracked, or coarsely-ground wheat mixed with meat and seasoned. Its consistency varies between porridge and gruel. The dish is then served with original ghee spooned on top. The flavor is extraordinary and mouthwatering. The abundance is also substantial for one person, but I bet that you will go for an additional plate of it as it's not going to fulfill your appetite with a single plate. The rate is Rupess 100 for a single plate, and it arrives with two alternatives 1. Salty and 2. Sweet Harees. The staff is limited but professional and friendly with the quickest service of delivering Harees within no time since order. Parking is easily available for both 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers on the roadside since it is morning time, no heavy traffic is there, and no private parking facility is available. The location is so simple after the passing of the Jama Masjid of Barracks (Barkas) next to the verge of Abbas stadium walls located.

The place where you get a different kind of Haleem when compared to the regular Hyderabad style Haleem. You get Haleem 365 days on the breakfast. First time I was also skeptical and didn't found interesting, but over the period now it has become one of my favorite breakfast. A combo of khari haleem and meethi haleem. The meethi haleem concept is unique and you will definitely like it. They mix sugar in the normal Haleem to serve it as meethi haleem. And they put ghee and a sherwa(oily part) for khari haleem. Starting you may not like it, but over the time you will like it.

Very worst experience. I was very excited but finally ended with mosquitoes and insects in the plate. Not at all hygienic. Please do not eat from this shop.

If you have been to a gulf country and are fond of a Mediterranean cuisine, then you will love Barkas. Specially this place, it’s authentic in style and taste. People sit around on chairs by the street side and eat the harees. It’s usually over by noon. You must try both, sweet and namkeen/khari harees. Definitely worth the early morning drive, love the vibe too. The size served is less, on average you can have 2-3 servings if this is your first meal of the day. And it’s served with a spoon of Asli ghee, it’s served boiling Hot! It only costs ₹40 for single serving, pocket friendly..
