I love eating out but very very very rarely do I take the time and care to write reviews on Google maps. I only do it when something is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad….in this case it’s the former. The food was genuinely one of the best meals I’ve had in my life (maybe also from the fact that it was my first time trying out Yemeni food). I had the lamb fahsa with the bread that it’s eaten with and the tea they served us to drink. Everything was delicious, the food was very fresh, the meal was full of flavour (but not spicy) and the lamb was amazing in taste and way it was prepared. The tea was sweet (mint tea I believe ?) and I drank about 3 cups of it (you can refill !). Staff was very kind and lively and the server took the time to answer all of our questions. Overall, 10/10 in terms of everything, highly recommend, if you love yourself, go eat something from there.

Overall Experience We had a good overall experience at Hadramout Restaurant. The food was good, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was comfortable. This is a solid option for traditional Yemeni food. 🍽️ Food What we ordered: • Lamb Haneeth • Kebsa Lamb The lamb haneeth was well cooked and flavorful, served in a generous portion with rice. The kebsa lamb was also good, with nicely seasoned rice and tender meat. Both dishes were satisfying and filling. Soup and salad came with the meals, which was a nice addition. The food was good overall, which is why this visit earned four stars. 🤝 Service Service was five-star. Staff treated us very well, were polite, respectful, and attentive throughout the meal. We felt welcomed and taken care of. Many staff members speak Arabic, which is a big plus for the local community and adds to the authenticity of the experience. 🌿 Atmosphere The atmosphere was okay. It was comfortable for dining, with a moderate noise level that allowed conversation. Nothing special, but perfectly fine for a sit-down meal. 🥗 Vegetarian Options There is a vegetarian section on the menu with solid options like hummus, salads, vegetable dishes, and bread. While the restaurant focuses heavily on meat dishes, vegetarians will still find good choices available. There is access via the sidewalk ramp, and entry into the restaurant is manageable without steps. ✅ Final Thoughts Hadramout Restaurant delivers an authentic Yemeni dining experience with excellent food, top-tier cleanliness, warm service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Every dish we tried was outstanding, and the overall experience exceeded expectations. Highly recommended. I will definitely be coming back.

Always a delight to find a wholesome, delicious food offering in the middle of the night during the week. Delicious lamb, tender bread and the sizzler dish just warmed the soul! I don't want to butcher the spelling of the dishes that we got, but we had asked the server for some ideas and he did not lead us astray. Everything was flavorful, soul-nourishing and delicious!! The house hot sweet tea really hit the spot. The portions were large and we took plenty leftovers home. The baklava was not my favorite that I've had, but still a nice dessert after the savory meal.

It was genuinely one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! We got a land dish and a chicken dish which were phenomenal but then we tried the baklava and it blew us away! Additionally the vibe of the interior is so nice and beautiful! The service was beyond exceptional and our server was the sweetest! Overall this is an amazing restaurant and I will def be coming back again and again!

Loved every bite of this authentic Yemeni restaurant! Their bread comes out hot and fresh and is gigantic! They also have great fahsa stews with a variety of protein options ranging from vegetarian to fish or meat options, this is definitely a highlight and cannot be done with takeout because it is served in a large stone crater bowl. They also have delicious rice dishes and their mezze platter is a fantastic starter for the table, the babaghanoush is the best! Service is friendly and attentive, however they do not provide water and you have to buy bottled. Either way, highly recommend going with a big group and doing family style!

We took one full kabsa for $34+tax =37. Look at the quantity; barely one person can eat it. We ate here previously, and it was more than enough for 2 people. Also, the taste got decreased. Totally disappointed; not recommended. If you want to taste kabsa, it is better to look at some other place. I don’t know about other things.

What a fantastic late night find. The food was so good. We had the Fahsa chicken and the baba ghanoush and hummus - were so tasty. Amazing texture - and really fresh. The texture of the tandoori rahshooh ( flat bread ) is perfect - it comes hot and crispy Street from the oven with the sprinkling of nigella seeds. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes here.

I had the veggie combo, which came with hummus, baba ghanoush, a salad, and mushakal. There's also self-serve tea included with every meal. The flavors were all great - the dips were fresh and creamy, the bread was light and fluffy, and the mushakhal was warm and hearty. It's an enormous amount of food for $32 after tax and tip. Plus it's open 24 hours, so supremely convenient.

Saturday night dinner; not crowded at all, tons of seating, spacious and clean; first time at this restaurant; the waitress was neither helpful nor enthusiastic when we inquired about recommendations or popular dishes- guess she was tired. We ordered the lamb haneeth and chicken fahsa; both were excellent. Rice and flatbread weee good. Lamb broth that came part of the entrees was delicious. No complaints.

Authentic and consistently wonderful! You can't go wrong at Hadramout and it's a weekly takeout for us! I love that it's open all the time and they always get it right! As a person who eats clean and vegetarian-I am obsessed! Every plate is made to perfection and my husband is in bliss with their authentic Yemeni lamb dishes. Jawad is the man and pays attention to the details. Never says no and goes above and beyond to ensure we have the best dining experience. Chef is amazing and takes pride in his dishes. Thanks for the amazing hospitality and food!

This was my first time trying Yemen cuisine and it was super flavorful! The large lavash bread that came with the meal was soft and delicious, similar to naan. The egg dish was super flavorful and packed with veggies. The chicken was also great and great flavors. You can tell the hummus is homemade and they top it off with great quality EVOO. Highly recommend this spot for some flavorful dishes.

I had the opportunity to visit this place while working in Brooklyn. I was very excited to try it as I had seen it on one of the food delivery apps; as the sound of the roasted lamb drew me in. Upon visiting it was a quiet establishment and it wasn't very busy, or noisy around the time of day that I went there. The food itself was expensive, considering it was lamb. But due to the lack of flavors it did t feel worth it to me. They meat itself was tender but more on the side of bland, there was also a lot of fat and not meat. So I ended up throwing it out. I'm also not sure if it was what I had ordered either. The rice was ok, but everything felt like it needed just one shake from a salt shaker. If you don't like too many flavors in your food I would recommend, but for me this wasn't my favorite.

The gem i found from a recommendation of a friend. the well maintained establishment welcomed us in very openly. Our waitress Inni was delightful. She provided excellent service and the food came out with haste. the prices were afforadable and the Tea that was complimentary is so tasty they should bottle it up and sell it. i really recommend checking this spot . it's 24 hours! the flavor is worth any trip. thank you Inni.

Food was on point , large portions , uniquely flavored and simply delicious . Mediterranean Food at its finest . We also met the owner and he was very accommodating and courteous. Really nice guy and fantastic food . Highly recommended.

The lavash bread alone is worth the trip. Also enjoyed the complimentary soup and salad. Only critique would be to stuff the shawarma more. Delicious experience overall. Definitely will return.

Restaurant was small in the basement but clean. Staff and owner was very friendly. Service was quick. Salad and soup was complimentary. Meal portion was huge. Food was fresh. Soup was delicious. Chicken Fahsa was exceptional. My friend ate lamb haneeth first time and she loved it. Brought half of the food at home. Loved the place. Would definitely go back.

It hard to review this place and not compare it to the upstairs more popular Yemen Cafe. The ladder has an actual lunch menu but is more pricey. The former or this place first off starts with better bread but has slightly worse soup. Personally I find the lamb haneeth to be barely worse here but I prefer the fahtah here. The spices are a bit better here. The mulikhai is a gloopy dish which is quite tasty and it has a good amount of lamb also unless you get the appetizer version. In terms of desser, the fatah with dates are fine but a lot worse than the one upstairs as I didn't think the texture was merged enough. If you want something lighter, get dessert across the street from Damascus (no not the overpriced Sahadi's) or Diwan next door (which also has very good Yemeni coffee/tea) or Malko Karkanni Bros for a pastry or two. Basically going to give this around the same rating as the place upstairs. You pay a little bit less here but there's pros and cons to both. I slightly prefer here but barely. 4.1.

I was excited to try Hadramout given what seemed to be an availability of more vegetarian options than the better-known Yemen Cafe on Atlantic Avenue. Our actual dining experience was mixed by dish. The highlights were the awe-inspiring flatbread - truly larger than your face - and the moulikhia, a well-spiced green vegetable stew which I have often seen on Egyptian menus but never encountered in other contexts. The combination of these two was excellent, even if rice might serve as a more suitable vehicle for moulikhia, generally speaking. Less successful was the fassoulia with hummus, a medley of kidney beans and caramelized onions that here was too dry and lacking in flavor. I had had much better versions of this in the Yemeni section of Hamtramck in Michigan. The cheese and honey platter was also mediocre, without any noteworthy characteristics.

Very interesting food( it tastes like homemade) the staff is friendly and the food came out very hot which is good because we paced ourselves to eat it. The place is quiet(basement) compared the noise typical NYC street.

This is a low key Yemeni restaurant with a chill ambiance and where you seat yourself. The meal comes with a complimentary soup, salad, and delicious large flatbread. It's a serve-yourself sweet hot tea. The portions are large and you'll definitely have left overs.

Where else can you get some pretty damn good Yemeni food at 3am ? Whether you liked their service or not, the likelihood of getting amazing ethnic food at 3am is pretty low and it's worth the drive if you're not from the area. Overall the vibe of the place upon entering is a nice Yemeni style diner and you can sit where ever you like (the booths are huge!). Nowadays It's not easy to come by good food service workers so if you experience any delay (which I doubt) bare with them and you will get your food in record time. Everytime I come here it's a great experience, the staff is friendly and you'll enjoy this almost-home-cooked-feel-of-a-meal. Their homemade bread is like a large tandoori naan great for 2-3 people (depending how hungry they are). It's communal eating so everyone gets to take a piece off the same bread. The grilled chicken is amazing and That lamb haneeth is yoga-FIRE! The baba ganoush with the bread is delish but if you order the soup what you do is dip the bread in the soup and scoop up the baba ganoush and you got a nice flavor bomb going. Their dessert is unique (I think we ordered the Fet-Ta) and if you're not sensitive to textures (jokes aside I got friends who won't eat sushi or bananas because of the texture) then take a crack at it. It's a yemeni bread pudding made and it was legit. I think my friends and I finished it and left that place satisfied. Over all , this is a solid place , staff is friendly and the vibe is right. No pictures because you need to go see it and experience the food for yourself.

Hello! I have been meaning to write this since forever, but today I tell you all that this place never fails with their food and service, phenomenal every time. I wouldn't go to any other place for Yemeni place but Hadramout. I stop by after work to pick dinner for my family and take it to Long Island. I wish they had one over there too. Thank you so much guys!

NEGATIVE · N/a IMPRESSION · Oh my f-ing goodness--this place was so awesome. We went twice in one day. After picking up food from another restaurant who had closed their doors to us, we decided to go to the closest restaurant to ask to see if they'd seat us if we bought an appetizer. The first place rejected us; Hadramout Restaurant did not!

This was the best Yemeni food I've ever had & possibly one of the best meals I ate on my whole trip through New York and Brooklyn. The waiter, Khalid was so kind and helpful. The cook is really Yemeni and so sweet- let me peek in the kitchen. If I'm ever in the Area again, this will be a must-stop10/10. We tried a lot of Middle Eastern food and I'm so glad we came here before we went home!!

Having thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Yemen Cafe, my partner and I ordered delivery from Hadramout to try more Yemeni cuisine. I believe the name of the restaurant refers to the east-central region, on the Gulf of Aden, in Yemen. In the absence of being able to travel there pre- and during the pandemic to explore the cuisine and culture first-hand, trying Hadramout Restaurant's dishes seemed to be the best alternative. We ordered the lamb haneeth and the chicken ghallaba. Both came with a side salad, lamb broth, tandoor bread, and two sauces (one spicy, the other sweeter). The lamb haneeth was the indubitable winner. The slow-roasted lamb was so tender on the inside while well-spiced on the outside. Paired with the tandoor bread and lamb broth, this was splendid. I was less enthusiastic about the chicken ghallaba, which did not have a strong curry flavor. Perhaps I ordered poorly and should have opted for another chicken dish, either roasted or grilled. The diced chunks probably didn't highlight the best of Hadramout's technique or spice mixtures. Overall, we were able to get 1.5 meals out of the two entrees for two people. The bread was more than enough for two meals. I'm sure our meals would have been superior eaten fresh at the restaurant, but we were still glad to have experienced them, especially the lamb and tandoor breads, nevertheless.

Disclaimer that I've only ordered dessert from this place and can't comment on their savory food yet. The dessert though was very average. Nothing too special. You can skip the baklava here and head over to Brooklyn Baklava instead.

Ordered some food here recently and the portions were much bigger than I was expecting! The lamb shawerma was massive but also very very delicious. Also tried the maza platter which was interesting... the hummus was pretty good, the baba ghanoush was different than what I've had before (a bit mayonnaise-y like a tartar sauce almost) and the falafel was different as well. It was perfectly fried but not as bean-forward as I'm accustomed to. Overall I think the lamb was the way to go but fun to try different things!

I've been here many, many times over the past week and a half. The portions are huge, the prices are reasonable given the portion size, and the lamb and chicken are incredibly tender and juicy! My favorite part, though, is the Yemeni Sweet Tea that is offered free with every meal. You can also get refills at the counter. It is SO good! Service can be a bit hit or miss in the early hours of the morning, 7-9 am, but it's super early, so I can understand that! Sometimes they are just all in the back, and you have to wait for them to remember that you are there. But the people there are quite kind, and I very much enjoy their food. This will absolutely be a staple place for me!

Food and service are ok . they have a very wide verity of middle eastern food which you can choose from . the good thing also they close really late ,I eat there at least once a month . I would recommend !!

We were thrilled to find this place open late for dinner when pretty much everything else in the area shuts down by 10p. Loved the lavash bread and soup/salad. We tried the Salta lamb and Fahsa chicken stews, which came in bubbling caldrons. The lamb was OK but I really loved the chicken, which had some great herbs and spices. Service was very friendly.

This restaurant is either a hit or a miss. When they miss they miss big time. Never consistent. Just have to risk it. Service always sucks here now.

We ordered from them at 2 in the morning after arriving to Brooklyn from LA. We were so hungry and had wrong food delivered by another place earlier. I would have eaten anything at that point but it was actually really tasty. The falafel were crispy and babaganoush was flavorful. Falafel wrap was huge and tasted really good. The portions are generous. We liked it!

Good Yemeni food. Delicious complimentary food. Decent portion sizes (compared to more famous Yemeni restaurants nearby). I just wish they'd bring the pepper sauce without being asked to do so. I'll be back.

Great service, and they even walked me to the mosque during Friday prayer. Great hospitality, but that's not all. The food was amazing, great recommendations for both breakfast items and for dinner. I will definitely stop by next time I'm in Brooklyn.

We've been going to Yemen cafe for years and figured hey let's give Hadramout a chance. Big mistake. Huge. Service is terrible. My husband became very ill because he's allergic to dairy and they put mayonnaise in the baba ganoush (not indicated on the menu). The fasoulia was dry, the bread was burnt. The service was just awful. They plopped down two teas on the table and tried to charge us $3/each for it at the end. We don't do dairy and they both had milk. Overall a terrible experience. Do yourself a favor and go to Yemen Cafe. There is a reason it's always packed.

I highly recommend the "lotta ghallaba" package for a family dinner night. It can serve plenty, just add extra side salads and soups to your order for more people. All four varieties of ghallaba are tasty and delicately flavored. The lamb broth soup is truly delicious. The bread is soft and warm and toothsome, and served in huge portions. Make sure to wrap up any leftover bread tightly + ziplock it so it doesn't dry out. Service in the restaurant can be subpar and it has seemed on my visits that they were a little dismissive to non-Arab customers and clearly prioritized Arab clientele in table service. At this point, I only get take-out here. Despite poor table service, they have a good record of having takeout ready on schedule.

Came here on Christmas day with family. I called beforehand to make sure they're open and was told they open 365 days a year (yelp also says it opens 24hr)! We stopped here for dinner before heading further into Dyker Heights in Brooklyn to see the Christmas lights. Undecided about the Yemen Cafe next door and Hadramout from my online research, we decided to walk up and see. Yemen Cafe had a line waiting to be seated and it was only 5pm... so we decided to go with Hadramout which had a few tables occupied but still definitely had seats available. I think we got to seat ourselves then the waiter came to give us menus. The four of us ordered a medium maza platter from the old appetizers list which included humus, ghanoush, falafel, and salad. The fried cauliflower was supposed to come with it too but they were out. A lamb ghallaba with bread, and aqda chicken. Because some of us weren't that hungry yet, we didn't order an entree each and shared everything. It was nice to start with the salad and a lamb soup. Then the maza platter came which was really impressive. What I really loved was the rashoosh (tandori bread) which was HUGE! Basically the four of us shared one and had a hard time finishing it. Some parts of it were crispy but it also had a good bite and was chewy. Reminded me very much so of a lao bing (烙餅) if you're Chinese and know what that is. I think we're supposed to eat with the spread and also our meat dishes so that's what we did. Ate the hadramout bread with everything that was on the table. The cubed lamb was a bit dry and not seasoned well but the chicken was good and was basically a stewed chicken with vegetables (eggplant, potato, etc). Definitely liked the baba ghanoush with the bread the most out of this meal and interested in trying yemeni cuisine again in the near future. If you're gluten free, you can get the meat dishes over rice :) Only giving it a three stars because a couple of things we wanted to order off of the menu they did not have available, the lamb was disappointing. Also, although our server was friendly, later part of the meal the restaurant got packed and they didn't really have the capacity to serve every table adequately. I would round it up another 1/2 star because the bread was so cool for my first time exploring Yemeni cuisine.

Good place, nice people. I hope they keep focusing on making sure the food is well done before serving and bring it to the costumers!

Just finishing up lunch here and we've loved it. Food was great and portions more than generous. We'll definitely be back. The babaganoush, the veg stew, the bread, everything was amazing. It feels like you're at someone's home in Yemen and they're cooking homemade meals for you.

Not gonna lie. I spent about $75 dollars here the first time on door dash. I'm cheap af, but totally worth it

Ordered pick-up from Hadramout for lunch. I got a falafel platter which was pretty good. It came with a side of hummus, baba-ganoush and green sauce. The falafels came on a bed of salad which was not so great, as it only consisted of lettuce and onions. However, the reason why I'm giving such a low rating is because when I went in to the restaurant, I could see that the people working in the kitchen were not wearing masks. It made me feel so uncomfortable, watching them cook and work with my food, breathing into it. I even confronted the worker and all he said was, "we do wear masks", as he pulled up the mask to cover his nose. He also goes to say that inspectors come every morning and they pass the inspection. Sounds like a lame excuse who got caught in the act. Definitely be cautious about ordering from here during COVID.

The food is delicious. Spices, flavors, textures are all outstanding. The service was excellent. Nassar came and brought us special tea, and was very attentive. The ambiance is authentic, very pleasant. Highly recommend to anyone in the area. And worth a special trip to Cobble Hill in Brooklyn to indulge in Yemeni cuisine.

We ordered Kepsa ( Rice and lamb) first two orders were okey. We ordered 3rd order when the deserter did strike some hungry Hippos. Chef simply took white-rice and mixed with curry and served it as Kepsa. They should have told us that they ran out of Kepsa. Instead, they became little greedy and did us dirty. We complained to the owner who speaks little English but fully proficient money making language. He acknowledged the fact and tried to reprimand the Chef atrocity. However no discount on the 3rd order which we simply trashed in the presence of owner. We asked the owner for discount since we did not eat the 3rd order. It did not work.

look. I am extremely patient and considerate of the fact times are tough and capacity is limited. Time after time coming to this establishment (calling it a restaurant doesn't do anyone justice) it takes minimum 40 minutes to get the attention of the staff to get seated and another 10 for them to clean it.90% of the time you must attend to your own needs (not suppose too) when it comes to drinks and ordering food. You become incredibly impatient you go inside to the fridge grab your drinks and order your food as if you were taking it to go. The staff is 10000% unapologetic and could care less. The food. The food is delicious. This is 95% the reason why we accept the unfortunate service. Worth it? No. Go next door to Yemen Cafe!

Hi Slow service Food is okay now.... use be better before And the price is are higher

This is now our backup Yemeni restaurant when Yemen Cafe is rammo. We had their grilled chicken which wAs good but not great. Note that the rice is not as flavorful as I expected. The lamb was exceptional. And if thats all we ate, this would be a 5 star review. However the baklava was quite bad - we couldnt have more than a bit each of it. They were nice about it and did not charge us for it. Finally, they seemed a bit stretched service wise. For large parts of our time there there was 1 server for the whole restaurant. She finally got some help, but we waited a while for water and had to remind her twice.

No doubt the food is good, but their service is sucks. Guy took my order and forget about it. I waited 1 hour for my food to come to my table. Whoever is ordering please double confirm your order make sure they got it.

EXCELLENT! Come you won't regret it. I am arab and I always love going to authentic spots to get a taste of home. I usually go to Yemen Cafe next door but this time we decided to try something different, and we did not regret it!! The food was so good!! We are already contemplating the next visit. We had the lamb haneeth and sizzling chicken. Also, I am celiac and they were lovely in handling my allergy. Definitely recommend this place

Tandoori rashoosh flatbread, it was just amazing! It was warm, soft, and crunchy, literally love at first bite! Flatbread with Baba Ghanoush was everything I wanted and need. Both of the lamb dishes were so tender and juicy. Chicken fahm was also juicy, and I enjoyed it, but I do wish it was more flavorful, as the lambs and lamb broth soup (family loved the soup). Overall, the food and the atmosphere was good. I think the service could have been better, though. But, I think around the time (8:30 PM) we visited, it was super packed, so I understand that they were busy. The majority of the people were sitting in the outdoor area, and we sat indoor, so I think most of the service was given to the outdoor customers. But still, the waitress helped us a lot, and I enjoyed the experience there. I want to go back there again soon and try different dishes.

Very authentic and delicious Yemini food. Great portions, decent sizes and wonderful service. I came here for the first time late after work because it's 24/7 and once of the only places in the area open after 10/11. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich, this is half of the sandwich because the first half was so good, I couldn't stop eating it! Also ordered a very fresh glass of lemonade and I'm glad I did, not too sweet or sour & it had an interesting light, frothy, texture. Will definitely be back, with friends (great seating especially for large groups!)
