I found this restaurant through a well-known reviewer. I arrived at 11 a.m., even though the restaurant opens at 12. When I got there, many people were already in line. I recommend coming around 10:30 in the morning so you might get a seat in the first round. I ended up waiting for more than two hours. A staff member will come out to ask what you want to order, and you must place your order at that time , no changes are allowed afterward . The food comes out pretty quickly. The curry has a sweet-first flavor with a mild kick of spice. The side dishes seem to be onions and radish The curry itself is really delicious and well-balanced. I like that bit of heat because it keeps the dish from feeling too heavy. But honestly, if I have to wait over two hours again, I’m not sure I’d come back. For the taste, I’d give it 5 stars. It’s incredibly delicious one of the best curries I’ve ever had in my life!

One of best curry in my life. Base : Tonkatsu Curry Topping : Egg York Big size. Sweet and spicy, you can feel caramelized onion and a lot of type fruits sweetness, also strong spice. This place is loved by Japanese office workers, and office workers know good place. If you are tourist, it is one of best choice for your lunch.

Amazing. Understandable why they're Bib Gourmand. The curry is umami with a sweet spicy essence. You'll have to add extras things to your curry, otherwise it's a portion of rice and beef curry. People usually add everything. Egg, pork cutlet, ebi tempura, spinach, extra rice. There's also complimentary pickles. I was lucky to get in right away (although they did start 15 mins late). They have 15 seats total. The atmosphere is nice as you can watch the chef prep everything while listening to jazz music.

Absolutely amazing Japanese beef curry! All the toppings were great! Highly recommend gettingthe spinach and tons of ebi. The lines can get quite long but service is quick and it moves quite fast. The interior was great too with a very homey vibe.

Heard great things about this curry tonkatsu spot, so as soon as we landed and dropped off our luggage, we hopped in line. There were around 24 people ahead of us, leading to about a 45 minute wait. The curry is on the spicy side, so if you're not a fan of heat, it might not be for you. We went with the cheese and spinach version and added a prawn. Both the curry and the tonkatsu were fantastic, super fresh. The service was impressively quick and the place was tidy. Once you order, the food comes out in about five minutes.

I visited Hakugintei, a place known for being very popular. I arrived at 11:40 a.m. and there were already around 30 people waiting in line. I was finally seated at 12:35 and started eating at 12:42, so the wait time was about one hour. I ordered the pork fillet cutlet curry with a raw egg topping. The curry was extremely spicy from the very first bite. To be honest, one raw egg was nowhere near enough; personally, I felt it would need two or even three eggs to balance the heat. Toward the end, there was a slight fruity sweetness, but it didn’t translate into a strong sense of umami. While the pork fillet cutlet itself wasn’t bad, it didn’t elevate the curry enough to leave a strong impression. Considering the long line and the amount of time spent waiting, I don’t feel it’s necessary to line up for an hour just to eat here. It might be worth trying once as an experience if you enjoy very spicy curry, but overall, my expectations were higher, and the result felt underwhelming.

Small counter experience and the curry is expectional!!! Very much enjoy our tasty meal at this gem. Beware there might be a line at peak hours and note their hours of operational is limited to lunch service. Curry is VERY delicious and believe they earned a Michelin bib Gromond review. I would recommend!!!!⭐

Probably the best Japanese curry. Love it. Visit every time when we are in osaka but now the line is quite long. We went there 30 minutes before opening time and still took us around 1 hr to get seated

Absolutely incredible pork katsu curry!! The spice level is amazing. The curry sauce is mouthwatering. It's a one-man show. The chef does everything himself. You should come early to line up (~30-45min) or else the wait looked pretty bad, especially on the weekends. HIGHLY recommend!!!

really good food. the spice level is already decided when you get there. it's a little on the spicy side but it's not unbearable. there's a english friendly menu and it's a small place. good for single diners or groups of 2. i think it is only open at lunchtime so not ideal if you want to come here for dinner. you need to come here with cash as cards are not accepted. quick service and polite staff. didn't have to wait that long to get a seat. keep dreaming of this place so 100% would come back!
