Hakuna Matata Pizza Cubana

Amazing food! The pizzas taste delicious and they are thick and crispy! 10/10 would recommend to anybody. Plus service is amazing

Let's start by saying that this is Not a restaurant, but rather, a take out pizza place. If you wish to sit and eat there you better pray there is no one else there as the only sitting possibility is limited to 4, maybe 5. We ordered 3 personal pizzas of which they messed up on one of them and had to redo, which I don't understand since we were the only customers there at the time. The pizzas barely, barely had any sauce, to the point that I can dare say it didn't have any. Pizza 1~ cheese: well cooked. but this pizza was bread and cheese only, no sauce. My wife lifted the majority of the cheese looking for the sauce, the dough was dry light pink, but no sauce was present. Pizza 2~ ham & bacon: the dough was cooked, but the ham and bacon were halfway cooked. It was edible, but it definitely needed more oven time. Sauce was present, but very little in the center only. Pizza 3~ bacon & pineapple: first time, they got the order wrong; they made it with bacon only, no pineapple. The second time, they made it correctly, but it was waaayyy undercooked. The bacon was mostly raw. My wife was grossed out and did not even attempt to eat it! Mind you, this was her pizza. I was going to have them cook it more, but my wife stopped me as she was grossed out and was going to throw it away regardless. I dissected the pizza looking for sauce, found pinkish dough towards the center. We had 2 ice cream milkshakes, which were not bad. We will not be returning!

This place is tiny but the flavors are HUGE lol a lil mom & pops hole in the wall. I ordered the Hawaiian personal pizza and omg...it was everything I had dreamed of all day. I am not ashamed to admit that I ate the whole thing. The location is a bit hidden, very clean. The service was great. I will definitely go back and highly recommend it. Oh btw the CRISPY CRUNCHY CRUST WAS HEAVENLY!

It was literally the most disgusting purchase l've ever made. First of all, there was a HAIR on the pizza: and it wasn't my boyfriends or mine because we do not have curly hair. 1 know pizza is supposed to be a bit greasy but literally the only thing that came out of the pizza was oil. The dough itself was raw, If I could rate this 0 stairs I would . DO NOT EAT HERE.

First time trying out a Cuban pizza. I am not too fond of thick crust and it was bread like. I ordered the jamón pierna and the topping was good in flavor and cheesy. I am more into thin crispy crust but for those who like a thicker crust then this may be a possible place to try.

Si usted es cubano y tuvo la dicha de probar una pizza de 10 pesos, usted debe extrañar ese manjar :) Pare de sufrir, que aquí en Miami la puede comprar en Hialeah, donde si no?! Hakuna Matata recrea fielmente el popular estilo de pizza que se vendía en La Habana en la década de los 2000. Y aquí en esta cafetería la hacen con el borde quemadito que le da un toque único. He probado la crema de mariscos y la crema de jamón, pero las pizzas son insuperables. Me falta por probar los batidos que se ven deliciosos. Se puede ordenar por teléfono y pasar a recoger. La atención buena y el servicio rápido. Si gusta puede comer ahí, ya que tienen un par de banquetas con un mostrador para una estancia corta.

Best Cuban pizza in Miami! Hakuna Matata is a hole in the wall in Hialeah. From the outside, you would not expect such great pizza. It truly is a hidden gem. The pizzas are personal size and they are filling. There's many topping options, but my favorite is onion. The crunch of the onion with the smoothness of the cheese is the perfect combo. It's also very affordable, with a pizza being around $6 per person. There is not much room to sit and dine in. I believe there's only two tables inside the restaurant. So I recommend doing take out or finding a spot nearby to eat. I have also heard wonderful things about their shakes. I unfortunately have not gotten the chance to try it but I will soon. But do yourself a favor and check out Hakuna Matata for amazing pizza.

This pizza is so good. It reminds me of ballpark pizza almost. If you do not like little to no sauce on your pizza then this is the one for you. Definitely a great dinner option or simply for a pizza party. Service is fast and the people are friendly. I will say, it's just an order window and maybe some chairs on the outside. Kind of small, better to order out or for delivery. It's very convenient and if your in the area it's a good way to interact with the locals.

Randomly stumbled upon this place looking for a spot to pick up some pizza. They have some bar seating outside where you can also order through the window but it was raining so we decided to go inside and order. Very small place but the most amazing tasting pizza and such a unique flavor!

The yelp community has done it again - a very well deserved 5 star rating. I wish I had a picture of their delicious Spaghetti! Best Spaghetti de Jamon cuban style in all of the land!!! I highly recommend this little mom and pops ventanita.

We got a large cheese pizza and a cheese soup. It was very unimpressive. There was also zero tomato sauce on the pizza. The cheese flavor and cheese amount was not too generous. We were disappointed. We were not satisfied with what we got and what we paid. Sorry guys.

Delicious Cuban piZZA! Very nice people working there. I got the Hawaiian and bacon pizza. I decided to not go with the classic neopolitan style pizza I usually eat and drove 30min to try this place out. I got my pizzas extra crispy and they were amazing. Don't overthink it - go to this nice little pizza place :)

First time eating cuban pizza was a huge success! The only disappointment was that this place is not closer to our home!! There really is no room for on site eating. We found a nearby park to pull into a shady spot and ate in the van. I love the way the toppings and cheese go all the way to the edge.

Great pizza!! Someone had raved to me about their pizza and my husband and I finally decided to try recently and it was delicious. At first, I found the pizza to be rather small (me, being greedy), but it turned out that I couldn't even finish it. I guess it was all the dough. I ordered a veggie pizza with pepperoni and my husband ordered the cheese pizza. I must say that the veggie pizza did not look pleasing to the eyes. I don't know, I guess the presentation but I decided to try it anyway and I was happy with the taste.

I was referred too this place by a friend and I have you say my new favorite Cuban pizza spot. I was born in Cuba and can say this is amazing Cuban style pizza! Perfection, in my opinion! Staff was also very professional and friendly.

Not the best looking place but it was my first grime trying Cuban pizza and honestly it was really fire. The bacon one is excellent, super cheesy baked on thick crust. But honestly the WORST crema de queso in the worlds existence. Truly a disgrace, go to Montes DeOca for that

I went to this place really by mistake. We were planing going to another restaurant but since I were running late we decided to stop here. I must say I am a fan of the Cuban pizza. There is something special in the way they prepare it. First of all the place is not even a restaurant. Hakuna Matata is more like a take-out kind of place. There are no tables, just chairs around a counter. We were a party of 5. My husband was not excited but I wanted to give it a try. I must say that the waitress was not pleasant, forgot to gave up the utensils and was plain sarcastic. My thought... she was tired... (which was understandable, I just ignored her). We ordered a half Hawaiian and half cheese pizza, a batido de mantecado (vanilla milkshake) and a lasagna to go. I must say... even though the service was doll... the pizza was great!!! We were very satisfied with the entire meal. Just for the food i decided to gave this place 4 stars! Hopefully the waitress will be more pleasant. I recommend this place as a good spot to have a quick bit of a really good cuban pizza.

Family owned restaurant. Excellent service, and food is delicious. Their cheese pizza brings the best memories from my childhood because it tastes just like the pizza that I used to eat in Cuba when I was a child. The place is not that big but the owners will make some space and bring some extra chairs just to make sure that you enjoy your meal. This was my second time in this place, and I will for sure, come back for more!!!!

Phenomenal small cuban pizza joint. What really blew me away were the shakes there. I had the chocolate shake and husband had the vanilla shake and my goodness was it amazing. Pizza had a great taste and was cooked perfectly. Would definitely be coming back when I'm in the area.

Okay so, I came across this place on Uber Eats and thought the name was hilarious, it definitely sticks! I figured I'd try it since the name was so genius. They did not disappoint. We have now ordered twice from this place and both times the servings were generous (we are a big family of hefty people and growing children) and the food was fresh! The pizzas taste great. We ordered the cheese, Hawaiian, pepperoni and chorizo pizzas. This is our new favorite spot. It doesn't hurt that the prices are very reasonable as well!

This hole in the wall I missed all of Hialeah has the best cuban pizza I've tried. It's made fresh to order the ingredients are excellent and I'm a stickler for the crispy crust.

Best Cuban pizza in Miami hands down. It looks sketchy from the outside, but once you're in is really clean. Freshly made and cheesy enough to make you crave more and more after each bite. This place will not disappoint!!! Ps Vanilla milkshake is a must!

The pizza and spaghetti were really good! Serve was quick & friendly too. Only thing, it's only a takeout place! I went in thinking it was a sit down restaurant, just to find a counter to order! Aside from that it's a great hole in the wall place! Tasty food & very clean facility!
