I want to clarify that the lower atmosphere rating was not because of the restaurant or its staff. During my visit, I witnessed a customer become aggressive toward two young employees over what appeared to be an honest mistake. The employees calmly explained that customers are asked to review their order on the screen before submitting it to ensure everything is correct. “The customer is always right” is BS. The customer repeatedly implied that he “knew the owner,” said they didn’t know how to do their jobs, demanded their names, and began taking photos of them. He was speaking loudly and drawing attention from other customers, which made the environment uncomfortable. Despite this, the employees remained professional and composed. They handled the situation respectfully under pressure. To the two employees who handled this situation: You handled it with maturity and patience. Your professionalism and calm demeanor under pressure reflected strong character. You handled yourselves with far more grace than the situation warranted, and that deserves recognition. The staff did an excellent job. I hope management/owner supports their staff

Had the chicken kebab over rice and it’s delicious! The flavor combos are really nice and the serving/portion is generous. Excited to try more of the menu!

This was my first time ordering here and this place is great! I ordered take out online and ordered a gyro bowl. I ordered chicken and lamb. The food is so delicious and they give you American portions! Huge portions for good price. I’m happy with the spicy sauce, it’s extra spicy too and not like your typical basic hot sauce. In depth spicy flavor. Overall good experience, busy location but quick with service, staff up front were great and nice. Will be coming back for dine in.

I found it to be expensive. Unless one keeps pouring their sauces, the rice and the meat is too dry to eat. Flavor of rice was not up to the mark for my Indian palate. The portion however is sufficient for one person's meal. There is a subway next door which appears better value for money.

Had a gift card directly from their website. Tried expensing it at the cashier where the gift card page on their website clearly says "show to cashier to scan/enter code". Cashier tried for 20 mins but did not work. I then had to place the order as pickup online, despite being at the store. The online platform cost me more in service fees and taxes which is extremely unpleasant especially if they state their gift cards can be used in-store directly. The cashier was very patient and polite, so nothing against her at all. If anything she was the reason I stayed chill during this entire process but the experience was just extremely unpleasant. Even when she called the manager they couldn't figure out what to do.

My first time trying Halal Brothers. I love Mediterranean food! They didn’t disappoint. I had a Gyro Salad and my Wife had the Chicken and Lamb Kebab. The food was plentiful and the taste was good to the tastebuds. The location was small but clean. The service was good and it didn’t take long for our food to be served. Next time I’m in the mood for Mediterranean food, I’ll be back at Halal Brothers

This is my new go-to Mediterranean restaurant. You order at the counter, take a seat and they bring it to you and quick. The gyros are fantastic, especially the lamb. The falafel was nice and crispy with a soft tasty center. The portions are huge. It gets very busy very fast, so plan accordingly.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars!!! I order at least once a week now. The size of the dishes last me 3 days, for the price it's worth it!! LOVE HALAL BROS

DOORDASH order - I got the combination plate which comes with lamb, chopped beef, grilled chicken thighs and a salad over basmati rice with white sauce. Filling and delicious. I love Middle eastern fare and this place hits the spot for basic satisfying halal food. I chose to add the green sauce as well but it was forgotten to be added with my meal.

This is the kinda food quality where you'd be like this is a good cheap eat where you spend like $20/25 for two and feel good about it. That is not the case here. Food was wayyy over priced. $15 for a wrap with no side that is not super big or anything. Flavors were fine and would be good if it was cheap but for this price I expect something exceptional and it wasn't that. Fries were $5 and a decent size but straight out of the Sysco bag. $40 for two people for lunch was way too much for the portions and taste here.

The food is tasty, and you can smell the freshness as you walk in. They make everything made to order so be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes. We took it to go and it was just as tasty at home. The service wasn't as great as it has been, but not enough to deter coming back.

This is a great and proven restaurant to go to for Halal food. I usually get the combination plate over rice. The combination plate consists of gyro and chicken meat over rice served with a side salad (lettuce and tomato) along with white sauce and hot sauce. This entree is very good because the chicken is well seasoned as is the gyro meat. The rice has a nice flavor and the white sauce is a must for this type of meal! Service has always been satisfying here. You can't go wrong getting food from here. They've been consistently good the numerous times I've been here.

Always good stuff! Great location, it does need some parking help though. Here's a Quick lesson of something I didn't know in relation to ordering. Chicken Shawarma = breast. Chicken kabob = cut in chunks just 'Chicken' = thighs. I like the chicken option. Nice and juicy. The food is good, hot and well seasoned. The guys behind the counter are always shuffling and super busy, but really nice and helpful when ordering. Music playing in background let's you know your food is being made with love! Absolutely love the bathroom setup. More restaurants need to take note of the double option and stop playing!

I came to Austin for a conference and I was craving some Halal food. Halal Bros has a convenient location and is open until pretty late at night so you can satisfy your food cravings. Upon entering Halal Bros I was greeted by the friendly cashier and given some recommendations on what items to order since it was my first time visiting. I ended up getting the combination plate which includes gyro and chicken along with a huge portion of rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and white sauce. If you're feeling bold, ask for the red hot sauce on the side because it will cause mouth fires. The gyro and chicken were tender, fresh, and well-seasoned. The rice and veggies completed the proteins well and make sure to ask for extra white sauce since it adds some extra savoriness to the plate. The portions here are huge so you'll have enough for a quick lunch the next day as well. There is a bit of a wait if you order in person, I waited about 15 minutes so if you're in a rush make sure to order online ahead of time. Overall, for Austin prices, Halal Bros is a good value because of the generous portions of meat, rice, and veggies that they provide. The next time I'm in Austin, I'll be sure to stop by Halal Bros again!

I usually always order on DoorDash and have never been to the store before. Today I was near and decided to go in and get my usual combination plate with extra vegetables and sauce & a side of pita! I still ordered through the app for pick up so when I arrived, my food was ready. I love any place that has ginger ale as it's my favorite soda. The service was quick, the restaurant is spacious and has great wall art!

Great portion size. I love the chicken is not chewy, which is most of the case when it comes to kebabs. They definitely need more white sauce bottles. It's hard to find lbs when you need one. We went during lunch hour so there was a wait getting the orders. But sadly even though we had a order number it seemed like everybody order was coming out depending on what they were preparing rather in the order of order placed. The ambience is nice, I wish they had more staff to clean the tables.

The price has gone up but I always justify my halal bros purchase as 1 bowl = 2 meals! They give you so much meat and everything was seasoned to perfection. I do recommend you eat in store since you have access to the white and red sauce and I luuuuv that stuff.

One of my initial concerns after moving to Austin from NYC was finding a solid halal spot to visit when the late-night cravings strike. Thankfully, we didn't have to look far too from home! Halal Bros is open until 11pm, has the most wonderfully fragrant rice, super deep plates (one portion is large enough for an additional 2 meals), moist chicken, and flavorful lamb gyro. They include healthy portions of salad, a light white sauce, and a deeply spiced red sauce. At first glance, their plates don't seem TOO greasy but after reheating the next day you'll see just how much oil they cook with. I'm willing to look the other way on this, though! Pro tip: Order ahead of time, because lines could get long and the approximate wait after ordering in person is around 15 mins.

We ordered a take away from here. ** vegetarian food review ** Falafel over rice -- it is a huge plate. I think more than sufficient for 1 person. It had 7 falafels, which usually isn't the case for such plates. However, it had less veggies, so kinda same. The falafels were soft and crispy, perfect in taste! I loved them! Rice was well cooked too and tasted good. The hummus tasted weird, but went well with the falafel. Falafel wrap -- this also tasted quite similar to the rice plate, but the wrap was very small. Falafel wraps are typically bigger, but this one was tiny.

Great food! I went to Halal Bros and got my order to go. Had to wait about 15 minutes because there was a queue around 9:30 pm. Overall fast service to order. The seating area wasn't as clean. Food left on the floor. It was at night time but I couldn't eat there so just got my food to go! Overall food flavor was spot on! Big portion as well. I ordered the Combination Plate with white and red sauce.

Wow the food at this place is fantastic, so flavorful. I felt as if I was in NYC at a street cart. The menu is easy to follow. Highly recommend getting one of the meat shawarmas over rice. My colleagues and I stopped by at 11 am on weekday plenty of parking and seating. Maybe it gets busier closer to noon but overall didn't feel swamped at all.

YUMMMMY!!!! So glad I was referred to this gem of a place. The portions are well worth the price and. I got the combo platter (half chicken and half gyro) with hot sauce on the side. Beware: the hot sauce is a bit spicy so if you don't like heat, get it on the side. I COULD share 1 rice entree between two people if you don't eat a lot. Service was great and fast. The cashier was very friendly and patient with my entree modifications.

Insanely great food. I recommend the hot sauce, Chicken or Lamb over rice, or Chicken Shawarma wrap, all insanely great Honestly, they are that good, and the hot sauce is to die for, wish they bottled it!

served fresh and fast. portions are equal to the price. food tastes as good as any chicken and rice spot I've had. We almost always order the combo over rice with loaded fries. everything is cooked to order and comes out fast and hot. restaurant is clean for the volume of service. you'll see a dirty table or two but the staff are pretty good at cleaning it up. I wish the prices were a dollar or two lower but with inflation and rising costs, I can't complain. I fondly reminiscence of those $5 food carts in NYC but this is just as good. I love halal bros! Overall, if you're looking for good portions, tasty food, and quick service halal bros should be on your short list.

Hey y'all, today I tried Halal Bros for the first time and I was surprise the line was short because the food was terrific. The staff was very helpful in giving us suggestions. Also the restaurant had a good amount of seating and wasn't too loud once the afternoon rush came in. This place is top notch and we will be back!

service was fast, great ambiance not busy at all and fresh food went here before going back to San Antonio, not bad for a first timer on Mediterranean foods.

Amazing food. Kameron is the absolute GOAT in customer service. Never said no to anything we requested and we got 10 platters because of how accommodating he was. The absolute clear example of good service brings back customers. We need more people like him in this world! Food is amazing. Like always. No complaints.

I went today to pickup food At Anderson mill location. I ordered 3 items and he took order for only 2 items. This was very weird they way the person on counter was listening to music on his iPod and didn't pay attention properly. We were in a rush so by the time we were given our food we didn't have time to wait for them to make the other plate.

Great food. Service is ok but it's a takeout spot. We dine in there but it's not the purpose. Please make a combo wrap a two protein options.

They raised their prices again so it's $18 for a rice plate now. Other places in the area are just as good for 20-30% cheaper

Was in town visiting and my friend ordered takeout from Halal Bros. Food was hot and fresh! I ordered beef kabab over yellow rice! The rice was perfectly seasoned and yummy. The beef was tender and seasoned well! There were tomatoes, pickles, and cucumbers on top. Meal was overall delicious and a good sized portion!

This is some of the best Halal I've ever had ! I'm from NYC originally where they had awesome halal carts all around. The staff is really friendly and awesome. The food is absolutely delicious. Every time.

Sounded great and looks great but wasn't it. We came on a Saturday afternoon. We're the first of a huge lunch rush so I was excited about my meal! The entree combo was $17 and big enough to share between 2 people. The fountain drinks had a strange taste and they only had regular mrs Vickie's chips left. The lamb meat tasted like hamburger. The flavors really weren't there. I liked that the extra sauce was accessible so I didn't have to bother anyone but you definitely need the sauce to make the meal enjoyable. I wish it were better... maybe if I'm around here again, the next visit might be better

Stopped by while in town from Houston. I usually get a chicken at the halal place I do so figured why not try theirs today. The portion was huge. Loved the little salad as a portion. The lettuce was very fresh. It was worth the wait. They were a bit under staffed like many places. However they were all hustling. The flavor was definitely there on the chicken along with the sauces. There was a perfect amount of hot sauce on the plate. Judging by all the Togo orders and busy inside I would recommend it for other items too.

Yummmmmmmm!!!!! We ordered in so this review is not about the restaurant or dining in. Food was amazing! As you can see I got the lamb Schwarma plate. I had a craving for halal guys but Austin only had halal bros and halal gurus. Haven't tried gurus yet! But bros came through! Great serving size! Adding the onions and pickles made it perfect. I wish i added more of the spice but this was amazing overall. I did have a lot of rice leftover which was cool if you're a rice person! Something about the flavor isn't hitting me like halal guys did so that's the only reason I didn't give it 5. But honestly it was still so good and you should pop in if you're having a craving!

SO GOOD. Used to go here often when I used to live in Austin, so it was nice that their tasty food did not change with my recent visit. I always get their combo over rice or sometimes over salad if I'm feeling just a little bit healthier. Their red and white sauce is a must to put on any their dishes. Can't wait to visit again!

Every time I ordered this combo plate it has been filling, delicious and huge portions. This restaurant is typically not too crowded. Only when people are picking up to go orders or waiting to place an order is when the line gets backed up. In my opinion, that's typically a good sign for any business. This restaurant is very laid-back and you will catch most people grabbing lunch here during their lunch break. The food is super affordable and can be shared in two for a second meal. The yellow basmati rice is flavorful, and not too starchy . The gyro and chicken are well seasoned. I love the white and red sauce that they drizzle over the plate to give it some flavo. I highly recommend coming here.

Even after Covid Halal has not changed. You still get a nice size portion and the food is always good. The Beef Shawarma on rice is 2 serving size for me. I usually at at home and immediately remove my salad. The beef is tender and with that white sauce - all is good. The rice is tasty too. I would admit that I'm a little piggie when I'm chowing down. But the portion is a lot.

So I've had the beef shawarma over rice back in April when I was visiting and again recently! Oh my word by far the best I've had...so far! I've tried in Cali and local places, but no one's has come close to this place! I mean it's loaded with enough meat and veggies, which I totally appreciate! I have been to places that load up on the carb and skimp on the good stuff, but not this place! The serving size is big too! It's like three meals for one. I also want to share that everything was well seasoned; nothing overpowered the other, and the food was fresh too! The meat quality was on point, no cartilage chews or overcooked chunks. The veggies were fresh and had that perfect crunch to it. Not soggy at all I'd like to thank Halal Bros for getting it right and making my shawarma to perfection every time...both times. I'll definitely be back!

Excellent food & Service! I came with my son and daughter-in-law based on a recommendation. The staff was friendly and helpful, letting us know which dish was most popular (I got the Combo over rice). The food was delicious and the restaurant was clean. Can't wait to return to Austin and visit again.

This place is amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. I got the lamb shawarma pita wrap for dinner. It's a huge wrap filled with sliced lamb, tomatoes, onions, and topped with white garlic sauce and hot sauce. It's really bursting with flavor. Can't wait to come again.

This place is the bomb! They give you so much food that I am writing this as I am eating my 3rd meal from one order. I ordered the combination plate and it did not disappoint. The meat is tender and flavorful, especially the lamb. They give you lots of extra white and red sauce, so it's the perfect combination of spicy and cool. I also order the dolmas regularly which also do not disappoint. Awesome and fast Mediterranean food.

This is the first time we ordered from this location, as we were exploring the area. As expected, the portions were generous in the over rice selection. We ordered the combo over rice, which had so much meat, we could do meal planning for a few meals. The extra sauces were well appreciated.

Ordered on Grubhub and food arrived quickly and hot. Got the mixed meat over rice and salad. So freaking good. Was HUGe portion that fed me for 3 meals. I also got an order of pita bread. Spicy sauce and white sauce are a must. Definitely worth the price. Just wish there was more salad and less rice.

This place hits the spot! As a lover of NY's halal carts I was really excited to check out this place and so glad it didn't disappoint. The rice was fragrant and fresh, the gyro and chicken was well seasoned and moist, the salad was crunchy and the sauces were delicious. We at in the store and was one portion was enough to share especially if you're not super super hungry. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!

Maybe it was overhyped, maybe my expectations were too high, but one thing is for sure I know I was hungry. Came here expecting above average for a gyro but was majorly disappointed. I got the lamb wrap and it was chewy, unflavored and filled with so much fat I was constantly spitting some out. We got the fries covered in sauce but it felt like mostly mayonnaise and was underwhelming. My partner got beef shawarma and that seemed to be the better choice. I do have to add that the rice was pleasantly flavored. Service was good and so was the Mexican coke on tap. I'd only come back strictly for the coke.
