Halal Shawarma ( HALA )

We stopped here on the way home from a fishing trip in Galveston. For shawarma that we’ve had in the Houston area o can see why this one ranks well. In comparison to my overall experience with this type of cuisine is it middle of the road at best. I’ve ranked it based on comparison to what you can get in Houston. The loaded fries would be 1 million times better without the trashy, oversaturated velveeta sauce. There was not a single fry that completely coated in this absurd juxtaposition of flavours. A bed of crispy fries topped with protein and garlic sauce would’ve been incredible given the flavours in those items. The mixed wrap was my favourite and made up for the disappointing fries. Strange that they don’t allow substitution of fries instead of salads for the platters but not a huge deal. Most items are served in a reusable take away container with lids so that’s pretty cool. We ate more than we needed to and still had leftovers so portions are generous and hearty.

Wanted to try food from a different culture and was not disappointed. Young lady at the front was very helpful and explained the foods. Food was very filling, extremely delicious and flavorful. I would highly recommended it, prices were very good for the amount of food and quality.

2nd time coming here. I love the options of the meats and the sides. We had 8 in our group but the meals came out in a good am of time. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable and brought our food to us when it was ready, even though it's a Walk-Up service type restaurant. Will be back soon!

My husband and I went for the first time this evening. Our experience was phenomenal. Their food was fresh and delicious. Emphasize on delicious. My husband got 1 chicken pita & 1 beef pita and I got the platter which consisted of half beef, half chicken, rice as my base and 2 sides, being hummus and the feta salad. Everything was exceptional. You get what you pay for, which is quantity and quality of the food. Service was nice and helpful. Place was clean and organized as well.

Simple food lacks flavor bit expensive Only comes with one type of sauce so will try again n may be better flavors n sauces served

Its hard for me to rate a shawarma place 5 stars but this place deserves it. It was fresh, juicy, and mouth watering delicious. The sauces also tasted fresh. The loaded fries were perfectly balanced with cheese and ground beef.

Came here to try out their beef and chicken shawarma wrap. Very fast service (told me it would take 7 minutes and he brought the food exactly 7 minutes later). The wraps were quite delicious. The sauces and fries were very good as well. Restrooms are clean and well kept. Definitely a place to come back to the next time I visit Houston.

The chicken tasted good but didn't taste like it was done on the vertical spit. I made the mistake of getting the wrap, which is a tortilla, big mistake. If I find myself back in that area it's worth another try with the pita.

Been here twice so far and food and service are stellar. Both the chicken and the gyro meat is moist, tender, and flavorful. The portions are ample. I like the $20 mixed plate. It's a lot of food. So you should split it with your companion or have it as two meals. Order ahead because they do make your food fresh which can take 10-15 minutes.

My coworker suggested that I try this place. I came during lunch so the service was not long. The menu is straight to the point, either a wrap or plate option. I opted for the chicken, rice and hummus. I ordered to go, but you do have the option of staying there. Once I got to work, I realized that I received the wrong side as it appeared to be pickled vegetable and not the hummus I had ordered. I had planned on going back with my receipt the next day. The portions provided the option to split the meal into two. I ate the second half the next day as they give you a lot of rice. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the garlic sauce was ok, but next time I will request it on the side as they do give you a lot. You have the choice of a base of rice or hummus. I will also try maybe a salad. Overall I plan on trying them again as I work in a food dessert and it's hard to find food that is not fast food.

A few months back, my friend told me about Halal Shawarma and suggested that I try it out. The following day, I stopped in for lunch to go. When I arrived I was confused. They had a banner saying that they moved to a different unit (from B to G-1). Unit G-1 is a few doors down in the same shopping strip. They have a lot of tables and it seems like this unit is larger than the old one based on photos. I ordered the beef shawarma wrap with tahini sauce and hummus. It didn't take long for it to be prepared. While I waited, the employee who took my order offered me a free drink which was so nice of him. The wrap was really tasty and I really enjoyed the hummus! It was so smooth and creamy. The spices and flavor were really good and just different from the foods that I usually eat. I'm happy that my friend recommended this place! I'm not usually on this side of town and there's no way I would have found it on my own.

Friendly employees and casual atmosphere. There's a good amount of seating and parking, however it's a shared parking lot with the neighboring businesses. I got the falafel platter with rice and five sides: pita, black beans, corn, feta, pickles. The falafel and rice were really good, but the black beans and corn I got on the side were cold with a sauce on top that wasn't my favorite. I'd still return and try more of the menu.

Food is great and seasoned perfectly. I had a mix pita wrap and it was 9/10! Maybe more of a crunchy texture added to it would've made it perfect!

Good gyros and baba ganoush. Have only gotten take out here a few times, so I don't know what it's like inside. The service is good and they aim to please their costumers.

Amazing Mediterranean flavors, each and every time. I come often in the evening, and the staff are always friendly, the dining room always clean & relaxing. It's worth the stop.

I'm surprised this place does not have more reviews because even though they change locations (in the same strip center), their service has always been great and so has the food. I have yet to go inside because I always order over the phone and my husband always goes inside and picks it up. So I cannot speak on the décor and I can only speak of the food. I really enjoy everything I get from here. The chicken salad is delicious as is the meat over rice and so is the actual wrap shawarma. They change the way their salads are now and although they are still good, they are not as large as they used to be before. However it is still one of the best chicken salads in Houston and totally slept on!

Great place and delicious food. They add something new now and then. Recently they added baklava. It was very good. The service is great. They get your food to you pretty quick and hot. I've never had and issue with service. The inside is simple and they have a big tv now. They are great for dine in and carry out.

This place is easy to miss in the small, crowded shopping center but stop to check it out. Don't know what to order? The friendly staff are happy to help. I went with the platter which comes with five sides. They are not so much sides-more like accompaniments. I had they gyro platter over hummus and my sides were feta, lettuce, pita bread, black beans and onion. The portion was generous and made two meals for me.

Absolutely amazing! The food is tasty, good portions, and various side options for the plate. The service is also great. Friendly, and attentive to the order. I definitely recommend!

This place is amazing and true hidden gem! I have tried several different items from their menu and all of them are flavorful. The baklava is a must try! The people there are super nice and helpful. The dining area is very clean and inviting!

The best falafel! Light and airy, the plate lets you pick between rice or hummus and up to 5 toppings. A must!!

Nice hole in the wall.. they always use fresh ingredients , taste and flavor is spot on. Even the prices are just right, easy on the pocket for a good meal. The shawarma and the Bowls are just so good, makes you keep coming back to them every time.

The food was delicious. It's in a strip mall kind of hidden.. otherwise I assume it would have a lot more 5 star reviews! I had a fryer plate and my dad had a gyro.. all was tasty and delicious!

I happen to notice a place that had shawamar and was in the mood for a gyro and decided to try this place out.They are located in a strip center behind Starbucks.I had ordered the usual gyro but was disappointed the lamb was underseasoned and didn't taste right.I plan on going back a second time to see if a different outcome.

This place is definitely worth a visit. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. I though I had to drive half way to Galveston to get Shwarma. I can't wait to go back. There are so many items on the menu I want to try.

I live downtown and commute to this side for work, which is how I discovered this Gem.. I have tried many halal/shawarma places around Houston, and this is by far one of the best!!.. EVERYTHING I have tried on their menu is always fresh and delicious!!.. and the Staff is always incredibly kind!.. One good thing to know, is that it is pick up only, no dine in.. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

The food is great I never leave reviews even if the food is good lol but this food surprised me after a long day of work. The lady at the register was really nice. I would recommended 100%

The food is excellent! Loved the seasoning on the fries and the garlic sauce. Gyros were delicious. It was a lot of food. We will be going back.

The best place I know for Halal food. The chicken bowl is so freaking good. The guy who runs the front is so nice. Went to my car while I was waiting and they even brought the food out to us. Everything was flavorful and the hummus is the best. My go to order is the Chicken bowl both hummus and rice no jalapeños. With garlic dip on the side. It's the best.

Great please for sandwiches, falafel, shawarma, gyro sandwiches are all great!!! Come try this place

Visiting from out of town and this place was great. Friendly staff and the food was delicious. I will probably come here again before I head back home.

Great food, would come again and recommend to others. I personally order the number 1 with rice and beans and garlic sauce. It's the best thing ever if you're a garlic lover like me. All the food is great quality and great portions. I get full and come again everytime!

Beef shawarma wrap was fresh and full of meat. It took a little longer but I knew it was being prepared when i called and not pre made. Service was friendly and courteous.

Picked up from here several times for lunch, after reading all of the good reviews. This place is a hidden gem, great food and great service. I have ordered the gyro in pita, a side of falafel, gyro over rice, and beef shawarma wrap. The gyro was very big and over stuffed. The falafel was very good. Gyro over rice is very good and so is the wrap. Everything has been great with great service and big portions. Will definitely return.

Best middle eastern food on my side of town. I stumbled into this place while I was on my way to the bank and I've returning for bowls and wraps ever since. Everything is fresh amd they make it as soon as you order it. Highly recommend

My Son just Got me beef Shawarma and falafil its original Authentic MiddleEaster Shawarma and falafil. It has been such along time for me since I tasted a good Lebanon Middle Eastern food around south Houston ! Taste super prices Awesome, Good luck Guys !
