The Best Chicken Wings In San Francisco, Ranked - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"This Tenderloin spot specializes in halal chicken wings and is great for big orders (30 pieces for $44.45). If your chicken wing goals are less ambitious, opt for the 6 pieces for $13.95. The menu has a bunch of different sauces and dry rubs, but there isn’t a wrong choice. Go for the honey garlic, which has the right amount of sweetness and some heat from the chili flakes, or lemon pepper all the way if you don't need your wings doused in sauce. Everything comes with a side of ranch dressing." - lani conway, julia chen 1, patrick wong

The Best Wings in San Francisco | Eater SF

"Tenderloin spot Halal Wings Plus boasts wings that are indeed halal. They’re small but flavor-packed and come in varieties like spicy mango habanero, barbecue, and garlic Parmesan. These guys also do fun mashup items like Boom Boom Fries, which come topped with fried chicken, jalapeños, and a house sauce." - Paolo Bicchieri

Very very tasty. Original spicy actually had some kick to it? Bit pricey in the area but worth it

This is a fried chicken shop that is definitely enough to conquer tourists. Their chicken wings (boneless) are really juicy and paired with their sauce, it is simply delicious. Their burgers are just as juicy. (I never thought there would be such a fried chicken shop on a street full of homeless people.)

Google
Great place to grab quick and delicious Halal burgers with juicy wings. The portion size of their meals and their French fries are phenomenal. ❤️ Had a small issue with my beef mushroom burger and got it replaced with a new one in 5 minutes. Awesome customer service 👏 Would definitely visit this place again soon.

Google
delicious, juicy fresh. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I was visiting SA and wished we had it in NY. 100% recommend the place.

Google
Go here just for the amazing halal burgers. Service is as can be expected in a small sit in. The burgers are worth ignoring the atmosphere. It is neat clean and hygienic no doubt. Just not a dine in kinda restaurant. I go often just for the way out delicious burgers

The burgers are very good, the normal wins are nothing special, but the hamburgers are very good!!!

I recently went to Halal Wings Plus and I have to say, my first impression was a bit doubtful. The place didn't look too inviting from the outside – kind of old and not really well-kept. When I walked in, I noticed the tables weren't the cleanest either, which made me wonder if I made the right choice coming here. But, I decided to stay and give it a try. I ordered some chicken wings. While waiting, I used their restroom and, oddly enough, it was super clean. Now, let's talk about the wings – they were amazing! Seriously, they were so good that I almost forgot about my first impression of the place. The flavors were just right, and the wings were cooked perfectly. And another plus, the guy at the counter told me their food is halal, which is great for those who look for that. So, even though Halal Wings Plus might not win any awards for cleanliness or modern decor, their food is definitely worth a try. Just don't expect a fancy place – it's all about the wings here.

Google
The wings were a real disappointment—stone hard, to the point I was worried about cracking a tooth. The buffalo sauce was awful. It tasted like plain hot sauce (which I can't stand) instead of the classic buffalo blend that balances tanginess and heat. Any decent wing spot uses something like Crystal wing sauce—this wasn't even in the same league. On top of that, the food is overpriced—easily the most expensive wing place in the area. To make matters worse, I later found out it’s $5 cheaper if you order in-store instead of through the app. They don’t mention this on the website, so if you pick up your own order, you end up paying more than someone dining in, which is just ridiculous. On the plus side, they gave me an extra wing—so I’m giving them an extra star.

Yelp
Wow! I ordered delivery from here when the original spot I get wings from was closed. I'm so glad I ordered from here and it might now just be my go to for wings- period. I ordered the 20 piece and they allow you to order two different flavors/sauces with this order. I got the Buffalo and Garlic Parmesan. They arrived still piping hot with a nice crunch on the outside and sultry inside. Perfect amount of sauce (and heat for me on the Buffalo). I ordered extra Ranch and THIS is what sealed the deal for me- it's homemade ranch, not the crappy fake kind. Oh what a difference it makes. I had plenty left over for a few meals since my partner ended up not sharing with me. They were so good warmed up in the airfryer. I'll need to dine in and give an updated review, but I tend to just order things like this for delivery. I'm a fan!

Yelp
Placed an order online and got it in 15 mins. I got their spicy lemon pepper (4/5) and mango habanero wings (1/5). The mango habanero was really disappointing as there was very little sauce. It was pretty dry. The spicy lemon pepper wings were pretty good.

Yelp
The wing were exceptional I had the hot lemon pepper wing I was amazed at the freshness, and quality its worth every dollar. The service was fast , and the restaurant was clean . The wings had a signature twist not your regular lemon pepper wings I highly recommend this establishment!

Yelp
I've had this restaurant bookmarked for over a year and I am so glad I happened to be up the block to finally try it. I tried their spicy lemon pepper and buffalo flavor and both were so tasty. The wings were cooked very well, the skin got nice and crispy on the outside while still retaining the juiciness on the inside. Their French fries were also good. I'd love to try their other flavors next time.
google avatar

Yelp
I honestly really enjoy these wings way more than any wing chain restaurants. These aren't the biggest wings but they are consistent so far and the flavors are amazing. If you have a game or a party, I highly recommend ordering their 30 pack of wings.
google avatar

Yelp
We mostly order takeout and it's still pretty good. My favorite flavors are the spicy lemon pepper, honey, garlic, and garlic Parmesan. Sliders and chicken burgers are also good. All halal. Street parking is limited, but there is a parking lot next-door. Fast service.

Yelp
Upon arrival I was able to order right away. I particularly valued its location on the quieter and cleaner side of the Tenderloin. Opting for the mix-and-match meal, I selected spicy lemon pepper and garlic parmesan as my chosen flavors. Priced at $18, including fries and a drink, the meal was reasonably priced. However, the spicy lemon pepper flavor was somewhat over-seasoned, suggesting a need for a lighter toss to avoid overpowering the palate. The overall taste was good, albeit a bit intense. I would consider ordering this flavor again with a lighter toss in the sauce. On a positive note, the GP boneless wings were a delightful surprise. Bursting with juiciness and flavor, they proved to be a highlight of the meal. Similar to the spicy lemon pepper, I would recommend a more restrained use of the sauce for a more balanced experience. Despite this minor adjustment, I would undoubtedly order this flavor again. In summary, while there were seasoning nuances to be mindful of, the overall experience was positive, and the GP boneless wings left a lasting impression.

Yelp
Ordered food through the Yelp app and food was ready within 15 minutes. The wrap was a big serving and I got full off of one half. The lemon pepper wings were kind of salty but still flavorful.

Yelp

Yelp
Halal Wings Plus is a standout wing spot in the city. This, San Tung, and Hot Sauce & Panko are in heavy rotation for me!

Yelp
I realized I haven't updated my review here since the pre-COVID days, so here it is! I still stand by the Zesty Chicken sandwich being good but you MUST try the Boneless Wings w/ Spicy Lemon Pepper. Trust me! It's unreal flavor. I'm not usually one for boneless but this is different. Also, you MUST try the Hipster burger and also the Bun Kebab. Both are so delicious! Service here is still great, food is served hot and fresh, the area is still shady, and overall one of my favorite spots in the bay. Full halal menu for those with dietary restrictions! I'd consider take-out vs dine-in due to the area, crowd, parking etc.

Yelp
When in SF, my son and I love to eat the wings here. We order the Honey Garlic, BBQ and Lemon pepper. The wings are exactly the size they should be. When wings are too large it's usually due to fillers but, these are perfectly fried and dressed in the perfect amount of sauce. We also love ordering the sliders , they are the perfect size and have great flavor. The wings and sliders also come with fries which are also great! The service is cool, just a few guys doing their job and making great food. The atmosphere is low key. It's a small restaurant with a few tables. Bring some wet wipes because I promise it gets messy lol definitely eat the wings here.

Imran S.

Yelp
Very Expensive and bad customer service, they will even charge you for extra sauce after ordering food for more than $60.
google avatar

Elisa A.

Yelp
The food was helllaaaaaa good but the ranch might be mixed with sour cream. Please just add some seasonings on that mix smh. Fck up my meal.

Adam N.

Yelp
The wings were mediocre, got the 10 piece mango habenero which were fried well but something about the flavor was off, it had heat but was somewhat flavorless. Docking stars because of the service. Came in with only one other person waiting and it still somehow took them 30 minutes plus gave me the wrong order. Originally ordered the garlic parm. I'd say try once and done kind of place, there are way better wings elsewhere

Ac.bayarea F.

Yelp
Disappointed in the quality. Ordered mango habanero wings and there wasn't enough sauce to coat all the wings. I also ordered the combo (phone for pick up) and they didn't give me a drink. Left before I realized. Taste was good, but the other factors make me not want to come back.

Yelp
Fantastic service and Food too. My wife wanted salad and chicken and unfortunately they don't carry it any more However the girl at the counter (Mayera )went out of the way and got the salad/chicken.and it was simply great. I ordered wings and they came out awesome too.

Yelp
First off, I'll get to the bitty gritty final point; Yes! Next time in town I will try and eat here. Now for the rest of the review: The outside needs a better sign. Almost missed it and hit up the "Halal Fried Chicken" just a few spots down. Be careful with this. The inside need some work, just a little better cleaning, a little more often. Just by looking around and feeling some things, you'll know what I mean. I grabbed some ketchup packets for my wife out of a container, only to find all the packets had residual sticky stuff all over them. All of them. The food: the food is exactly what you see in the pictures. This is where they're doing things right. While sitting here, we saw multiple customers coming in and out, dining in or taking out. Good to see that they have a good clientele.

Chase E.

Yelp
The service was quite good and the food preparation was quick, but the boneless wings are extremely underwhelming. They were far too mushy and the breading came off them taking the buffalo sauce with it. Perhaps the regular wings are better.
google avatar

Parwiz P.

Yelp
I have ordered 2 Crispy Chicken Burgers not cooked properly and they don't really care about the service The way they answered the phone the way they communicate customer.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Stopped by for wings during my lunch time. I got lemon pepper wings. Really tasty! The service was good, the man at the front let me know that it would be a 10-15 minute wait and that he would come get me when it was ready. Will definitely be back to try all the flavors!

Anderson H.

Yelp
I order from this wings place almost every weekend, it's that good. I'd say flavor wise this place stands toe to toe with Hot Sauce and Panko for best wings in the city. Location is a bit sketchy as it is the TL, but delivery is just fine. Found this joint pre-covid and I'm glad it still stands to this day. It's my gatekept secret in the hopes that prices don't turn up a notch. They don't skimp on wing size; well worth their cost of a little under $1.75 a piece. I'm easily full on 10 wings. First place: Spicy Lemon Pepper. They absolutely bomb the wings with sauce. Every part of the wing is coated with a spicy/sour dry/oil blend that looks like one of those Doritos chip that's a factory error with too much powder. IYKYK. 2nd: Mango Habanero. It's more on the Habanero side than the Mango side. Respect the heat that comes off this. 3rd: Cajun/Buffalo tied. Cajun is mainly just heat and not much else, but it's tasty. Buffalo seems to be a house blend that tastes a bit off/pungent and funky with less heat compared to a regular tangy spicy buffalo sauce. I like it, but I'm not going to eat it on the regular. Lastly, bone-in flats always. It's never dry in the inside. Don't be a weirdo.

Yelp
My gf loves this place. I do too. Wings are the best, burger was super good too. Honestly, They don't miss, everything is great

Pelin S.

Yelp
Please read instructions next time Just had my order Even though I pointed out I don't want any Avocado in the burger you guys somehow put it in there Overall was great
google avatar

Vanessa D.

Yelp
I got honey garlic the next time and though they were tasty, I still prefer garlic parmesan
google avatar

Antonio A.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by the burgers and sliders I ordered last week, a well crafted burger. The brioche buns are fresh & flavorful, meat is juicy and oh so tender, while the toppings have good quality cheese. What a solid burger should be. Fair warning- I struggled to keep everything inside the bun, which can be a good problem to have if you're enjoying a meal with boys lol. Comes with pickles and thousand islands sauce, and white (Swiss or cheddar?) cheese. Making it a meal will add a soda in your order. Fries already included.

Yelp
Halal Wings Plus is the place! A hole in the wall along Jones Street with great food! My friends and I came to this place after ice skating by union square as we were really hungry! It was a 7-minute walk which was convenient. Upon looking at the menu, there were wings with varying combos and flavors, and burgers with varying meats to choose from. I decided to go all in and got the Fat Daddy! The Fat Daddy was huge!! It came with a chicken patty, beef, and this other meat at the bottom that was super flavorful (which might have been the chicken lentil patty - something I tried for the first time in my life and loved it)! It also came with a side of fries and this orange sauce that complimented the fries and the burger well. While I was really hungry, I actually had to get half of my burger to go because it was that huge! It is definitely an experience for you to try if you are thinking about going all in and feeding yourself! I would 100% recommend it! Overall, I love this place! A gem in the city! Love how their food is also Halal and that they stay open until 11 pm. Thinking about stuffing yourself with a burger or some wings around the bottom of Lower Nob Hill? Go to Halal Wings Plus! 11/10 :)

Yelp
Wings were on point. They were a good size and were fresh. Also the ranch was fresh and made in house. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Yelp
Love this restaurant so much! Been going here with my family for years now, one of our go to Halal restaurants. We travel across town to snag food from here, and it's always worth it! Delicious flavor, and very nice service! I recommend the lemon pepper wings and bull's-eye burger!

Yelp
They are now selling the Costco wings here masquerading as some type of speciality plate. Wing quality is terrible compared to before they absolutely are not the same quality as before and have gone INSANELY high in prices. I used to enjoy coming here but now it is 23 dollars for ten wings and a can of coke. Crazy. I can get the Costco wings myself Owner says they are still Halal. Fine. But I can no longer recommend based on quality.

Jaidah R.

Yelp
This restaurant has absolutely terrible customer service. I ordered Buffalo wings in person not on DoorDash like I usually do. There was only one worker in the restaurant. I called back to let them know that they had messed up my in person order. They asked me if I had the receipt. I showed him the receipt and everything of that nature. He then tells me that he cannot remake my wings, but give me sauce on the side and not even reimbursed me or anything like that, horrible customer service horrible customer satisfaction I've never experienced it. Do not eat here. The restaurant was completely empty absolutely no customers so there's no reason he could not have made my food. Mind you, he goes to tell me that the employee that was helping me is no longer there that he went home. I go inside of the restaurant. He's the same and only employee still working in the restaurant. I didn't have to waste $12 on an Uber just to go back to this restaurant just to not be refunded just for them not to fix my food
google avatar

Sana A.

Yelp
This place was such a wonderful find during our trip to San Francisco. We're always looking for cheap halal eats and this definitely hit the spot! We ordered the chili lime and garlic parm wing, I love how crispy the classic wings were and how juicy the boneless ones were! The sauces that came with them and the burger were addictive with fries and it's one of the few times I've finished my order of fries! We got the burger with avo and bacon which was okay, I think I had higher expectations for it but the bacon was too hard and the burger didn't have that much flavor.
google avatar

LV B.

Yelp
Casual ambience, good counter service and the wings are on point. I usually just get the salt & pepper wings and it's to die for. Get the fries. I haven't tried any hamburgers there yet but I'm sure it's legit.

Gib M.

Yelp
i've been here a number of times always pretty good, today i went here and was told my wait would be no more then 15 minutes after waiting 15 minutes i asked how long it would take and i was told 5 minutes after waiting about 10 minutes i asked where's my order and was told he was busy and just starting it, long story short i waited over 40 minutes for some of the worst wings i've ever had. The guy at the front was also very rude and on top of it all he was wearing the same gloves he used to make the food as he did to touch everything in the kitchen ipads, counters, bags, bathroom who knows what else. terrible, never again.
google avatar

Muhammad A.

Yelp
Their fries suck now, they switched to a cheaper product . Wings are still solid, good flavors and right amount of crispiness
google avatar

Saood D.

Yelp
Alright the wings they've got here are solid. Area the shop is located in is pretty nasty but the food is worth it. Good luck finding street parking. Best bet would be to go a quarter mile down the road to the parking structure. Ordered 6 piece barbecue wings and 6 piece Cajun wings. Shoutout to the kitchen for giving me an extra wing. Barbecue sauce was good. Cajun was my favorite, it's similar to a Louisiana rub you'd get elsewhere. Came with 2 ranch which was more than enough. Ordered a side of fries and for $4, you get a ton of fries, maybe even a little too much. Apart from washing your hands, I'd avoid using their bathroom. Give this place a shot, you'll enjoy their wings.

Yelp
I was interested in trying out this place. its an alternative to wingstop or buffalo wild wings. they have a decent menu. they have wraps, burgers, wings, drinks, deserts and something for veggie lovers. I was debating between which flavor to get but i saw a tremendous amount of posting in regards to the Garlic Parmesan wings. Once the delivery was coming you can smell the garlic and Parmesan. but when I opened the lid it was more stronger in scent. and they added a slab of butter which was different. I do want to say they do pile on the freshly chopped garlic and Parmesan. So if your not a fan of garlic or garlic breath please choose another flavor. I choose 12 wings with 1 flavor of choice. the more wings you order the more flavors you can add. But i also want to advise that please get a side that is not to salty or flavorful, the garlic seasoning made the wings pretty salty after the 4th wing. I am not sure is it because the seasoning settled before eating, but after eating the wings I drank about 16.9 oz water bottles. I still have a lingering salty taste in my mouth. The wings also comes with a side of ranch. I will definitely cant wait to try other flavor wings and their burgers.
google avatar

Rudy H.

Yelp
This place is serving pretty cheap wings compares to most places in the city. they're not the best wings, no. kinda far from it, but they're cheap. I ordered 20 pieces of spicy buffalo wings today. the wings are smaller than most places but the prices also better than the most. it cost me $23.86 including tax for 20 wings and side of fries (in a big box). it doesn't come with celeries, that's extra. this place is a quick solution if you're craving wings and you're a cheapskate.

Jay M.

Yelp
I was visiting the SF area and decided to stop by at this place since I had been here before. The taste of some items such as the wings and burgers had changed and the paratha rolls were not on the menu which was a slight disappointment as we were looking forward to them since they were incredible last time I was here. We had the original hot wings which was the best thing we had, it was probably one of the best original hot buffalo wings I've had. Next up bbq wings which were ok, I'm personally not a fan of bbq sauce so these were alright for me, bbq fans might like them more. We also had the mango habanero wings. These were decent, very saucy and good taste although not the best mango habanero wings I've had. Lastly I got the Fat Daddy burger since I had gotten that on my previous trip. I don't remember the burger being like this and I was really disappointed to find it not as good as before. I would not order this again. Overall solid halal food (mainly wings) and good service. I'm not sure if I would make my way to come to this place next time I'm in SF unless I'm really craving some wings
google avatar

Misha T.

Yelp
We got a large amount of wings and fries for the CFB national championship game (what a dud) and the wings were ok but were a little tough. I don't mind the wings being small but that does make them easier to overcook and I think that might have happened here.
google avatar

Olive R.

Yelp
Ordered twice since my last review and they have messed up both times. Did not receive correct wings and then was still charged for them. Half my wings order was missing and yet I did not receive an apology from the restaurant. I called to see what happened and no one answered. Inconsistent ordering and non one is picking up the phone. horrible service for expensive food. Doesn't add up.

Yelp
Great food and clean restaurant ! This local shop's food is definitely made in house with fantastic flavors. Had the following: Hipster Burger - the patty in particular was fantastic. Perfect flavor and juicy. Garlic Parmesan Wings - the flavor was great but was so pleasantly surprised at how crunchy the wings were! I would absolutely recommend visiting this place!
google avatar

Yelp
Still probably some of the best wings I've ever had, but no longer the slam dunk it used to be because the price has gone up drastically. Wings are in their name, their DNA, and it really shows. Everything in my prior review still holds, their wings are masterfully done, tender and crispy, with an extremely flavorful complement of sauces. Lemon pepper and mango habanero are guaranteed winners but most of their sauces are great in one way or another. Looking back at my old orders, the price increase is insane. In late 2020, I purchased a 50 wing order for $45, less than a dollar a wing, at that price point, absolutely a steal. Slowly over time it's gone up to $55, $65, and now $87 for 50 wings. Wing prices have far exceeded inflation. I knew that prices couldn't remain that low forever, but this is a bit more expensive than I expected. I was looking back for what they used to say. I don't see it anywhere now and the language on the old menu picture seems a bit different than I remember, but the sentiment is the same: "the smaller the wings, the larger the portions". All mention of that is gone. You keep the same small, bony wings, and pay about the price of a normal wing. It's a good wing, but no longer a slam dunk 5 star winner.

Zhen W.

Yelp
Amazing honey garlic flavor Super tasty and I love that is kosher. I shall be ordering on a regular basis.

Samy A.

Yelp
It's just ok one time deal. Super expensive for frozen wings nothing especial about the food. Service not clean place grab and go type.

Robert W.

Yelp
On Juneteenth evening, I, as a free black man, dealt with an utterly rude staff of color who refused to serve me. The individual in the captured pictures said we were closed as soon as I walked to the counter, but after I grilled him about his erroneous actions, he stated that if I wanted a sandwich but nothing else on the menu, he might hook me up! I was beyond perplexed by this response and microaggression. Especially when people were dining in and waiting for their food, and I was the only customer who wanted to place a simple order. I got to this establishment around 10:30 p.m. Their business is advertised as open until 11:00 p.m. With over a decade of experience in retail and restaurants, I know that I never did this to customers as I knew they had the right to order before closing despite me eagerly wanting to close the establishment. I've been to this spot once before and was treated with dignity and respect. But this time, I was blatantly disrespected for no reason. Therefore, they have lost a customer and are now given a poor review for poor customer service and false advertisement of being closed. This incident has significantly impacted my loyalty and their reputation. With all the dying businesses downtown (Tenderloin Neighborhood), one would think they'd be happy to serve and make money.

Yelp
Price up charge doesn't match quality - used to buy these for $20 now 20 wings = $29.99 plus fees is $40 on Uber Eats and who wants to walk to the dangerous ghetto to pick these up for $25? Learn to price your food. You'll push more product @$20-25. And you'll drive walk-in traffic as well. I used to get .25 cent full size wings at Bullit Bar yet these people want you to believe their micro wings are $1.49? Moreover, no consistency amongst wings. Sometimes you get large, sometimes medium, and sometimes tiny wings.. Weight changes but price doesn't.. also sometimes they don't catch/strain the grease (and it's a mess) other times they do. Reminder $40 nets you a legitimate meal anywhere in SF - 20 scrawny (but flavorful) wings for this price is laughable. Pro: Seasoning on the meat is great for Lemon Pepper/Original Spicy.

Yelp
I just love this place. Whenever I go to San Francisco, definitely eat there a couple of times. Philly cheese steak is huge and delicious, and I love their wings. Burger was a bit dry but tasted good. Overall, great food. Ask your employee at the counter to smile more. He always looks grumpy.
