The food and service is pretty good , I think the prices are A bit high though . And also the restaurant is not very comfortable for dine-in , no booths seems like table and chairs of a fast food place . Maybe it’s best to order to go or delivery

Stopped for dinner here because we were in the area and we are glad we did! I got the chicken tikka masala (level 4 spice) and my husband got the mango chicken curry (level 2 spice) with rice and garlic naan. We both really enjoyed our food! I think the portions were good with a good amount of chicken. I didn’t find the level 4 spice too hot at all. I think I will go with level 5 next time because I like heat! The heat was definitely there though. I typically go for chicken tikka but I loved the mango chicken curry my husband ordered so I think I will order that next time. The chicken tikka seemed to be chicken breast while the mango chicken curry seemed to be chicken thigh. Both very good but I prefer thigh. It was very tender! I was impressed by the service. Food came out quick and our server was very attentive coming by often to make sure we had refills and were enjoying the food. I would definitely come back and I would recommend it! It’s a fairly small restaurant but we came in on a Thursday around 5:30 and we got a table right away. I recommend checking it out!

Ordered the chicken curry, paneer curry, and garlic naan tonight from this restaurant. The portion size was excellent and smelled delicious. So flavorful and rich.

Indian food is my newest hyperfixation and Haldi Indian Cuisine did not disappoint! It was all delicious and so warm and cozy on a cold, rainy winter night. We had chicken 65, chicken Manchurian (reminds me of sweet and sour chicken or the jade red/jen red from Chino Bandido), butter chicken, tikka masala, tandoori chicken, basmati rice, garlic naan, butter naan. Amazing! We chose spice level 1 and it was perfect; not too spicy but also had a little heat and so much flavor. The service was really great too. We were checked on frequently and made sure we had everything we needed. We had plenty of leftovers for lunch today! So yummy and we will be back! 😋

Google
Small, clean, pleasant place. The service is patient, friendly, and attentive. They provide a 1-5 spice level. Our mistake was ordering 3. Should have gone at least 4. We ordered masala fries 5/5 (can’t quit eating them), chicken tika masala 3.5/5, Mango Chicken Curry 4/5, and garlic naan 4.5/5. We believe the entrees would have been better with more spice. Looking forward to the next visit.

Google
Just received my Uber Eats order! I got the honey butter chicken with rice and garlic naan. SOOOOOO good. The honey butter chicken has so much flavor, is the right amount of sweet/spice, and the Naan is freaking delicious. Can’t wait to go dine in.

Honestly, being a South Indian myself, I wasn’t expecting the food to be impressive, I went there because my friend asked me to go there, but definitely the quality of the food didn’t let me down. 4 stars are only for the atmosphere, I was expecting to exchange weird stares with a few fellow Indians which didn’t happen, I was the only one dining out there at 7pm until another white family of 5 came in. I believe the 3 star for the service is appropriate and I know a fellow Indian should be proud of getting 3/5 stars from another finicky Indian for spending $30 here and the expectations :^) Nothing really to complain and no disappointments for sure…worthwhile going if you are in surprise, but hey, take your own company…you aren’t going to find anyone other than folks stepping briefly to pic up their takeout orders.

We lived in the Middle East and had many friends who were Indian and cooked us delicious food. This food was of such quality! The cheese naan and sweet naan (crushed dried fruit layered inside the naan) was superb (both kinds some of the best naan I’ve tasted)! I had the veggie butter masala and my husband had the butter chicken. The Indian gentleman who waited on us was very pleasant, attentive and happily answered any questions we had. The only drawback was the seating area was very small and the music was a bit too hyper for me. Some slower music mixed in would have been helpful. Also, we could hear the Mexican music from the kitchen competing, which ended up overwhelming me a bit. That’s not a deal-breaker for me unless I had specifically come for the atmosphere. I give it a 4.4 with the atmosphere being the drawback. Barring that, we had a great experience! We will be coming back!

Yelp
We had Valentine's dinner here. The restaurant is so cute abd nicely decorated. Dinner is delivered by robot!! The curry fries were delicious. I had shrimp korma and my husband got tika masala. Both dishes were perfection. The staff were overwhelmed, but still made sure we were taken care of. The owner was such a sweet man! He made sure I got my flowers that were part of the deal we bought. I wish I'd gotten my chocolates, but they were slam busy, so I understand. We will be back.

Yelp
I joined my mom for dinner, mid-week around 6 pm. When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, but by the time we left, it had filled up considerably. This was our first visit, and being from Seattle, we're no strangers to great ethnic cuisine. We were excited for a delicious meal. We started with veggie samosas and shared a chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. The portion sizes were generous, enough to easily feed 2-3 adults; and the service was excellent. The gentleman who greeted us was warm and welcoming, which made for a pleasant experience overall. Unfortunately, while the samosas and naan were good, the tikka masala was a letdown. We requested a medium spice level (3/5), but the dish lacked both flavor and heat. We each tried a portion but ended up leaving more than half of it untouched. I had high hopes for this meal, especially since the restaurant is so close to home. I was really looking forward to it and hoping it would become a great addition to my list of go-to spots. But for everything mentioned above and the cost of $37 with tip (and no drinks) - it'll be a one time visit.

Yelp
It was a good experience. We took a booth , order can be done either by scanning QR code or by server. We ordered online, the service was quick. The naan was amazing. Warm and soft. I also liked the dal tadka. The chicken korma was ok. We ordered mild and it lacked seasoning as per my taste. Chicken manchurian was not that great. It was chicken cubes marinated in immense amount of red sauce. That is not a real manchurian sauce. The masala chai was good. The restaurant was not crowded but not empty either. They have a robot server to bring the food to the table.

Yelp
So glad we decided to give this place a try again after having been so disappointed 5 years ago! No more buffet, thank goodness, but they have a good lunch menu! Maybe 7 choices, with either naan or rice, so it's good if two of you go, and share! You can't change the spice level, but they do have some hot sauce. I love the paneer butter masala, the butter chicken, the chicken curry. We need to try different dishes next time! The food was hot and good, everything was fresh. We've been a few times in the last month and it's definitely a nice lunch spot. No clue about dinner. Manager/Owner is friendly too!

Yelp
Ordered online, website was easy to use. Food was ready when I picked up. I ordered the chicken butter masala, with garlic naan and roti (not pictured). Everything was flavored and tasted really good except the chicken was really tough and dry. I'm not sure I would order again, I hate when chicken is terrible.

Yelp
I've only done carry-out, but the food has been superb every time. The only thing I wish is that it was just a tiny bit cheaper, but I can't really complain because usually there's enough food for two meals.

Yelp
I can't believe I never reviewed this place! One of my absolute favorite spots for Indian food. I was so excited when I found out this place was built near me. The closest Indian food restaurant was in Goodyear prior to that. If you are in surprise I highly recommend trying them. I don't remember exactly but I think around 2pm they close to change their menu. During the day they have an all you can eat bar I guess you could call it. And then they change it to a regular menu. Super friendly. They are also on uber eats I believe. My only wish is that the restaurant is bigger since it's pretty small.

Jay S.

Yelp
The service is always great and food comes out quick and just as good everytime! Love that you can adjust the spice to your liking, haven't tried something I don't like here!
google avatar

Lexi M.

Yelp
I ordered this as take out and wow! This was delicious Indian food with some amazing flavor. I ordered the yellow curry with a medium spice and kan it packs a kick. The rice was amazing and the mango drink was delicious. I'll be adding this place to try in person.

Dave F.

Yelp
We ordered take out from your restaurant last night and enjoyed it very much! We had Chicken Manchurian, Korma, Kadai Lamb Rogan josh and Tellicherry Lamb. All were excellent! The best Indian cuisine we've had in years. We'll be back for more! Thanks!

Samantha I.

Yelp
Amazing all the time!! The food is so flavorful and I recommend this Indian food place!

Annette O.

Yelp
Amazing place food is delicious totally recommend. Full of flavor that makes your taste buds enjoy every single bite.

Janin B.

Yelp
We always order butter chicken and tikka masala with lamb and it looks like they are using the same gravy just add other vegetables to it for the masala. I would not call this place authentic at all. Also when I placed an order to be brought to the car and confirmed I arrived, I waited and waited and nobody came. I had to go inside and pick it up myself and the food was just waiting on the counter. The first time it worked but the second time it was busier so it seemed chaotic. However, won't be coming back again as the food is not good. The chicken in the butter chicken is not tender and has a very hard consistency. Usually the meat has to be tender in butter chicken. For the price I expect better quality and service.
google avatar

Destini B.

Yelp
The owner recently posted on a local fb page about supporting small businesses and we decided to give this place a try (we LOVE Indian food). Unfortunately, both of our butter chicken dishes were tough and dry and not the "average" butter chicken flavor. Seemed it was missing some ingredients. The place is spacious inside which is nice but the quality definitely needs a check in.

Nola B.

Yelp
Delicious food with plentiful portions, enough for leftovers. The owner is very friendly, as well as the rest of the staff.

Yelp
I ordered food to go from during lunch time. I did order the lunch special Butter Chicken and garlic naan. I will start off by saying it was great tasting. But taste is not the problem. My issues are for the special I guess you don't get rice with the order which might have been my bad but ever other Indian restaurant I've been to it comes with rice. The other thing is the butter chick was warm at best not very hot at all. Also I only got 2 pieces of chicken. They were about one inch by one inch piece's. The naan was fine and tasted great and like I said earlier the food had great flavor. I just didn't know I would be getting so little. Makes me wonder what you get for the full price items.

John B.

Yelp
My wife got the lamb Rogan Josh yesterday. Bad diarrhea all day. I just tasted it so I'm not as bad. Will never go back.

Sarah P.

Yelp
Food is always good, love the lunch specials. Flavor is great, chicken could be a little juicier but overall happy

John D.

Yelp
Lunch Specials are phenomenal. Food was outstanding. Customer service was great. Definitely a 5 star rating for lunch

Yelp
Excellent food cooked hot and fresh to your preferred level of spice. You can order by phone or online and pick up your order to go or eat there but there is no table service. Delicious!

Yelp
We make Haldi a must visit place when we come to AZ for our annual March month long visit. We come at least 3 times in every March for the best Indian food ANYWHERE! My favorite Indian dish is still chicken Tikka Masala. I've had this dish in dozens of Indian restaurants. Haldi's is the best bar none! The spices are tailored to your desires. White meat chicken is so tender, and a robot delivers the food to your table. Sam, the owner is always there and makes SURE you are happy. Try it-it's THE BEST!

Yelp
Probably the least flavorful Indian food I've ever had. I love Indian food and I try to get it in any new location I travel to. The service was great and she was very nice.

Ricky R.

Yelp
Excellent Indian food especially for Surprise, it was great food and authentic flavors as someone from Northern California

Nolitz G.

Yelp
The provided prompt Service, attentive in the process, and the food was great. Need more spacious dining area.

Melinda F.

Yelp
We were extremely disappointed and feel like we didn't even have Indian food. My husband is Eastern Indian, and I enjoy having a night off of cooking. This review is ONLY for the Surprise Haldi. There was no layering flavor at ALL in both dishes. The chicken was in huge pieces that made no sense for an Indian dish. It was impossible to eat with the Naan. The potatoes in the aloo gobi and the cauliflower were both huge pieces and undercooked. The naan was over-cooked and dry, and lacked garlic flavoring. The ONLY thing good in any of the food was the Samosas and the tamarind sauce was well developed. We will NEVER return to this location, and we are extremely disappointed. The other location, Glendale, with their South Indian cook was miles and miles better. Money down the drain. We couldn't even finish it. DISAPPOINTED!

Maureen M.

Yelp
Ordered take out Food was delicious hot and ready when promised Good size portions Will return

Josef

Yelp
Food is always deliciously good here. The service is top notch did I mention the food is delicious. Will recommend. Eat there like twice a week.

Yelp
We have been here sooo many times it warrants a review. My fav is the honey butter chicken and the garlic nan. The young ladies who are the regular servers are kind, personable and attentive. The spice level can be adjusted to your liking. 10/10

Yelp
Their operating hours said they were open until 8:30pm. We arrived at 7:50 pm to dine in, and were told we would have to take our food to go. That is a lazy and classless way to do business IMO. ***My response to owners response. First of all, we were a party of two, not ten or all of that "other persons weren't there" malarkey. Don't know where you got that notion. Secondly, my watch said 7:50pm, not 7:59 pm. You could set your cameras for whatever time you wanted to. But either way the point is if you set your operating hours for a certain time (8:30pm) then you should not refuse to serve customers when they walk in over a half hour before closing. It's very disrespectful. The vast majority of other restaurants would never refuse service to their customers under these circumstances!

Yelp
Fast, friendly service. Good Indian food with vegetarian and vegan options. The channa masala was my fave, but palak paneer and aloo gobi were good, too. Entrees come with perfectly cooked rice. A 3 on the 1-5 heat scale was perfect for us.

Jessica T.

Yelp
So good. Go there way too often butter chicken is the best. And the cauliflower appetizer!
google avatar

Nick R.

Yelp
This is my favorite place for Indian food in the whole valley which is a bummer because I live 50 miles away. But any time I am near by I go here. They also have been our catering for large work groups and everyone loves it.

Cameron F.

Yelp
Always fantastic! Super sweet staff and spectacular food! Masala and Vindaloo are out of this world.
google avatar

Stacy B.

Yelp
Smaller restaurant with a steady flow of to go orders being picked up. Staff was welcoming, attentive and very appreciative of our compliments on the meal. The flavors were on point. Portions were average on the meals but was sad that the samosa appetizer only had 2. Although it clearly states the quantity on the menu, I wanted more. Well done.
google avatar

Cliff H.

Yelp
Very small place with amazing food & delightful people. We had mango chicken & a lamb dish - delicious & generous portions.
google avatar

Debi D.

Yelp
Best Indian food we have found in the area. Many wonderful vegetarian options. Haldi is one of our go-to eateries.

Cristy C.

Yelp
If you want authentic this is not the place. I ordered a biryani and a chicken tika and I couldn't eat it. I even tried adding more garam masala and spices at home and it couldn't get it any better I couldn't eat it.
google avatar

Dana S.

Yelp
Very friendly service and great food. You will love the layered and beautiful flavors of all the different foods. I appreciated the food being served family style so we could all try everything.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
We were disappointed with our dinner. Ordered Tandoori chicken, Aloo Gobi and garlic Nann. Chicken was dry, hardly any flavor and only 3 pieces for $17.00. Aloo Gobi had like 8 pieces of potato and 3 cauliflower for $16.00. Just not the flavors and quantity that we have had in the past. Such a shame how quality has gone down. Wonder if they have new cooks.

Yelp
Stopped by this place for dinner while visiting family in Surprise. The place is small and was pretty busy on a Thursday night but mostly from take out. My wife and I split a lentil soup that was very flavorful with potato's, and carrots but the lentils were ground up so fine it was almost just a broth. My wife had the Chicken Tikka Masala mild and finished it. I ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh medium and garlic naan. The curry for my dish was delicious with a bit of a kick and the lamb was stewed and cooked perfectly. The naan was a bit thin but still good. I would give this restaurant 4 stars for the food but the size of the restaurant and decorations brings it down to 3 stars. They have new location on 59th and Union Hills that is supposed to be larger and have more modern decorations. I'll check it out and report back.

Yelp
I know I know I can't believe I'm going to say it either, but I'd never been to Haldi until now. We came for dinner this weekend after really wanting something new. We've talked about stopping before, but with picky teens we waited until we had some time on a date night to visit. I have never had Indian food, but so many of my friends as well as family rave about it. When we arrived I was surprised at how small the inside actually is compared to what it looks like from outside, but still quite a few tables. We were greeted with a smile and seated right away while they gave us some time to go over the menu. I had no idea what I'd want to try so I talked to the waitress and she gave some wonderful options. All their food comes with heat levels of choice with level five being the hottest. We asked her to describe five and she said you'd definitely sweat. I'm not much of a spicy person, but my husband is so he ordered chicken vindaloo with s level four and I tried level one butter masala with chicken. We also of course had to try an appetizer of the chicken Manchurian. I love naan bread and when I saw the garlic butter naan I knew that would love it more! It was so delicious warm and flavorful. It was even better dipped in the sauces of my chicken masala. Our entree came with basmati rice. The rice was really light and I was a perfect combo to the meal. The portions are large and you could definitely share between your family/friend. Our service the entire meal was wonderful. We felt very welcomed, not rushed and never had to ask for anything. The location was clean and while music was playing on a tv it was not overbearing or too loud to hold a conversation. There was a large buffet type table against the window and he heard it is not an option anymore. What a bummer I'd come in for that. I'd love to try an assortment of items. If it was not in the seating area it may hold a few more tables and look less cluttered as again, the location is small. I also noticed some of the menu items from the past are not on their current menu. I'm kicking myself for not getting pictures of the current one, but I was starving by the time we arrived. All in all it was a great experience. My only regret is not trying a higher spice in my meal. It was still full of flavor, but I'd of loved it a little spicier.
google avatar

Catrina B.

Yelp
This small hidden gem was absolutely delicious! The owner/waiter helped me select only a 1 (mild, 0-5 spicy scale) and that was perfect for me to enjoy the flavor of the dish without setting my mouth on fire; though you can, if that's your thing. Would absolutely go back and try the paneer next.
google avatar

Ashley I.

Yelp
This is THE Indian food spot in surprise. Amazing food I am never disappointed anytime I order from here. If you get it to go it is wrapped top notch so no food will be wasted. The service is great and it's a nice little spot for lunch or dinner. I love the butter chicken, korma, and palak paneer always with garlic butter naan.

Dom D.

Yelp
Food is absolutely amazing. Butter Marsala and Bullet Naan are great. Always our 1st choice for eating out. Quick service and easy to go process.
google avatar

Carmen H.

Yelp
I love this place. Ive ordered from here probably 20+ times in Uber, ate there 3-4 times in person and have done take out 5-6 times. Their service is top notch and absolutely rivals some of the dishes I ate in New Delhi!! It's been correctly made, hot temperature and packed extremely thoughtfully every time! The service eating in is always excellent! It IS spicy, even low/medium spice, but I just keep some plain yoghurt on hand. Definitely recommend the biryani, butter masala, all the curries, and I always get double garlic naan bread. They also play amazing Indian music videos ! Don't miss this place!
google avatar

Thelma H.

Yelp
Great food and service. The wait staff so helpful, first time there we did not know what or how to order, the waitress was friendly and explained the menu to us.

Yelp
Delicious! First time here and will be returning. You can order one entree and split it with someone. They give you plenty of rice and can order a side of Garlic Naan.
