"The chain's chief executive, Tim Martin, announced plans to cut beer prices to “an unbelievable low” to mark Britain leaving the EU on 31 October 2019, but only if the country achieves a so-called clean exit without customs-union arrangements. His rationale hinges on the removal of EU tariffs on wine under a no-deal scenario, yet those tariffs (around 6.5–8p per bottle for Australian and New Zealand wines) are trivial compared with the UK’s £2.16 excise duty, and many wines (for example from Chile and parts of South Africa) already face no tariff. The post-referendum fall in sterling — which hit a 28-month low at the end of July — would have a bigger impact on import costs than lost EU tariffs. Martin has previously blamed remain voters for the chain’s weaker profits; while the company might be able to fund temporary price cuts, the savings would not genuinely stem from “freedom” from the EU and, critics argue, would be better used to improve staff pay." - James Hansen

"Yes, Hamilton Hall is a Wetherspoons, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a great spot for when you’re hungry, or broke, or hungry and broke. This place used to be the ballroom of The Great Eastern Hotel, so expect some big chandeliers, intricate ceiling decoration, and a big staircase you’ll be entirely tempted to slide down once you’re four pints in. There’s your usual Wetherspoons budget meals, boozy deals, and it’s partially inside Liverpool Street Station so you’re covered for that inevitable mad dash to catch the last train on a weeknight." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Great place to relax and enjoy food and drinks. The atmosphere inside Hamilton Hall is beautiful, especially with the historic building design. The food and drinks are good and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and service is quick even when it’s busy. It’s also a really nice place for taking pictures because of the impressive interior and lighting. Overall, a great spot to hang out with friends or take a break while travelling through Liverpool Street. I would definitely visit again!

I don’t make a habit of reviewing Wetherspoons, but this one is something quite special. The setting is truly spectacular – and feels like you’re enjoying a pint in a palace! The food and drink and the usual Wetherspoons standards and prices which are a welcome relief in London, and overall, it’s a great spot for a drink and cheap bite to eat.

Great prices (although I feel like portions have got smaller over the years). Ordering through the app is super easy and convenient. Not guaranteed to find a table immediately as it's usually busy. Great location right outside a major station. I had an issue with the app once (didn't like my table for some reason) but we got it fixed. Also very fancy looking space. Apparently it's a repurposed ball room.

Chicken burger was over cooked and dry, bun overcooked and dry... beer was good... Food has gone down hill...nothing fresh... everything is frozen ...advertised burns night... but they didn't have there haggis burger... absolutely shameful... the manager can't be very good, stock low order more.. they had burgers and had haggis... but the haggis burger was not available, which made no sense, unless, yes of course it isobviously all frozen and then microwaved or deep fat fried 🤔

Good vibes and great deco in this historic place. Good idea to grab a drink before your train journey. Price tags are very affordable.

It’s a Spoons so does what it says on the tin. Warm, comfortable, good atmosphere and food that satisfies your hunger. And decent beers too. Great if you’re at Liverpool St station and need a bite to eat before you head off on the train.
