"Run by co-owners Jane and Laura, both of whom are Korean American, Hamlet Coffee Company in Prospect Lefferts Gardens opened in February 2020 and was named so with the intention of creating a small village and neighborhood community. Based on the line to get into the coffee shop when we last visited, they have definitely created something special here. This is a great place to order a delicious cup of seasonal Nelson Chavez drip before finding a bench in Prospect Park just two avenues away." - esther cho, with warm welcome, kenny yang

Based on the line to get into the coffee shop when we last visited, Jane and Laura have definitely created something special here. They’re carefully following social distancing policies and allowing one person in at a time, but even with the extra wait time, this is still one of our favorite coffee shops to order a delicious cup of seasonal Nelson Chavez drip coffee from before finding a bench in Prospect Park just two avenues away. Take-out orders are available Monday to Friday from 7-4pm and Saturday to Sunday from 7:30-3pm." - Esther Cho & With Warm Welcome

So happy to have such a nice cafe in the neighborhood. One of my to do’s when first moving here was to find a good coffee spot and Hamlet is now my go-to. There’s a good amount of seating though I’d still recommend going early to find a spot. It’s great for doing a bit of work. Coffee selection is minimal and solid. Also tried a baked good for the first time and loved it!

Definitely a great place to come in and get work done, study, catch up with a friend… very bright, welcoming and my latte was delicious! I only drink almond milk and since they didn’t have that, I tried their alternative which was macadamia milk, and surprisingly I really like it. Noise level of conversations were not a bother, and another thing I appreciate is that my clothes and hair didn’t have that “café / coffee” scent lingering (yes I know it’s expected at a coffee shop but sometimes it’s a bit tooo much). Very airy and overall great experience!

Best Coffee and ambiance in town. Today I went back for more coffee and bread. The lovely lady at the counter gave great service. Acknowledge me when I thanked her and also said have a good day when I left. In the other hand the 2 making the coffee were too busy talking among themselves. When the guy gives me the coffee, I said thank you and at no time did he even acknowledge me , the customer. We go back every time we are in town and just keeps getting better. October 2024 back again. Still in love with this place.

This place is NOT welcome to dogs. I’m not trying to put this place on blast for that, I just wish I had some indication of that before I walked over here, so I am providing that indication. For anyone who tries to grab a cup of coffee while you’re walking your dog, this place won’t even let you hold your small hypoallergenic dog in your arms as you order a coffee to go. And there’s no indication on the door that this is the case. I’m sure their coffee is fine, just don’t come when you have a dog.

This place is the best coffee shop in NYC. Competent and friendly staff. I usually just run in here and trip over a kid or two while my car is double parked but it’s quick and really good. (No one likes slo-mo coffee. ) good pastries too. Got some tacos that were good.

Favorite coffee shop in NYC - it would be so nice if they opened a couple more spots around the city I've been going here at least weekly for over a year now and only had good experiences. I only wish they stopped taking orders over the previous customer's shoulder - ie having to place the order while the person before is finishing payment. I don't mind the extra 10 secs of wait time, and in any case when it's a little busier, placing orders is not really the bottleneck.

I decided to walk to this little coffee shop. The staff were accomodating and friendly. The coffee shop is really cute, quiet and I felt like this would be a retreat for folks wanting to get away and have a quiet place to go along with great tasting, smooth lattes. I had the chocolate croissant and it was quite tasty. I had the Pumpkin Spice Latte which was also very good. I will go again when I come back to Brooklyn, NY.

Excellent coffee shop with ample seating to enjoy your beverage or get some work done. There is also a patio outside in the back for when there is nice weather. The baked goods are amazing and ordered in, but still fresh! The banana bread and zucchini loaf are vegan and delicious.
