Spacious, laid-back atmosphere with many sitting options - either indoors or at the patio. We had 2 separate beer flights (6 beers each), which were great ways to experience what the brewery had to offer. Food offerings were just as solid as beer. I especially liked the fish & chips (Jojos) - very generous portion and fish tasted very fresh. Jojos (potato wedges) were highly addictive and we couldn't stop munching on them. Definitely worth stopping by when you are in the Nob Hill area.

I’m sorry I can only give Hammer & Stitch Brewing 5 stars - it deserves at least 6. The beers are excellent. I had the Pale Ale which is well balance and extremely drinkable. Pairs well with food. Nice because it was lower in alcohol and I was driving. The food is outstanding. Had the ahi tuna nachos. H&S is kid and dog friendly. Outdoor patio available. Super nice people. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed the Blue Collar Burger and a Sun Juice. The burger was cooked perfectly and was delicious. I was there on a sunny Sunday afternoon. There were 2 employees providing service. You order at the.counter and they bring the food to the table. You are able to glimpse views of the top of Forest Park as well. They are pet friendly as well. There were 3 dogs lounging in the sun next to their people on my visit. I would definitely recommend it for a leisurely weekend to get drinks and a bite.

We stopped by this brewery on a Saturday night. Lots of available tables. The atmosphere was a little bright and white. Still getting used to $7.50 pints. The ahi nachos were creative and yummy.

The fish and chips are perfectly fried. It was so crispy! Despite getting there an hour before close, the staff was still very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone in Portland!

Great new brew pub in NW Portland. They have a large patio with well-spaced tables and good covid practices. Beer is great and so is the food. There is typical pub fare as well as some excellent salad options. The Jojo fries are exceptionally well made, very crispy and flavorful. The kale broccoli slaw is a favorite, great balanced flavors. Hint: have them add some fried chicken to it. They have a set of always available beers on tap and in cans and a rotating list of limited run beers. All I tried were really good. Open Wed-Sun as weather permits. UPDATE: They now have really nice tents with lighting that offer protection from the rain. And heaters! Cheers! :)

Holy freaking yum. Really good beer and really good food. We order the ahi nachos every time. Can't recommend enough.

I'm a little hesitant to write this because it feels like I'm giving away our secret spot. But some secrets just need to be shared. Hammer & Stitch is one of our favorite places. We go about every other week and we've found that it's never too crowded (we'll see if that changes after this glowing review). The space is open and bright - you can always find a seat inside, on the deck, or on the street-level patio. And since it's in an up-and-coming industrial area in Slabtown, there's always plenty of parking. The beers are exceptional. The choices aren't overwhelming - they do a smaller, rotating selection and they do them very very well. I always get The IPA. As far as food goes, the JoJos are a must and the vegan melt, fish tacos and chicken sandy are our staples. The schwag is plentiful if you want to rock a hat, hoodie or sticker. The staff is super friendly and it's not just about the beer - H&S also has great events like comedy nights and bingo so be sure to check out their calendar.

I miss this place so much! I had never found a vegan patty melt before I came here and it tasted exactly like I remember them. They had the best porters and stouts. It was located in a great spot with a good amount of free parking and less traffic. I miss coming here all the time!

The food runs the spectrum: the chicken sandwich and burger look and taste weak, very small too. Conversely, the kale and broccoli salad was awesome and an ample portion. It's has the perfect lemon zing and those crunchy chickpeas are a great add. Top it with their delicious faux chicken which I prefer over the real kind. Those taking orders behind the bar and delivering food and drink were more than just doing their job, they very pleasant, courteous, and light-hearted. Although I'm used to the Portland trend of reduced service, a common pitfall to the order at the bar process happened again. Two in our group considered another round of beer, but they didn't want to wait in line. Had a traditional server asked if anyone wanted another the business would have received more revenue. Not sure why they employ this stand-in-line concept, but apparently it works for them.

With most breweries we have ventured to, you can always count on the food to be solid... this time around. I was really disappointed. My chicken club was super dry. The patty was dry, I would have preferred a McDonald's mcchicken over this. The cheddar wings were ok. Nothing special, definitely drowned the wings in the sauce which was just a huge mess. The wings were also were served just warm. I will say the beers are decent. Not too big of a selection. Not too much seating indoors, but a ton outdoors. Super dog friendly as well; which is why they got 3 stars.

Last stop in our Portland weekend trip. Liked the openness of the brewery inside and plenty of seating outside. They had about 7 or 8 draft options of their own beer as well as some cider and wine options (not on their wall menu). They had a dry cider in a can that I liked. Husband liked his lager. The food was average. I liked the flavors of the ahi nachos but a little too much sauce for me. Pretty messy to eat on a windy day with hair down haha. The chicken sandwich I had was ok - nothing too extraordinary. The patty tasted like a basic frozen patty but the bun was great. Fries had a good taste but gave me heartburn immediately. Friendly service and would come here for a couple beers and a snack but might try elsewhere if you're looking for a food-centric experience. 3.5 stars in my book!

Tried this place a week ago with my family when we were out at the adidas store and wanted something close. They have a great beer selection and provide ample samples while you decide. The food is good overall - chicken sandwich was ok. The Fish tacos were also tasty as were the fish and chips. We did get an order of Buffalo Loaded Jo-Jo's and they were also a hit at the table. We would go back primarily for the beer, but the food being good is an added bonus. One thing that would greatly improve the experience would be to have someone come around for subsequent rounds of beers. It would be nice vs having to go stand in line while you're in the he middle of eating, especially when you've got an open tab. Also, a good, spicy salsa (homemade) for the tacos would be a nice addition. Outside seating is dog friendly too, which is an added bonus

I like how I can ride my Bonneville T120 on the freeway, and be here in 15 minutes from my house. And back again. Handy. There are maybe about eight of their beers on tap. A little on the light side, though. Tuna nachos?? I"ll pass. And anything else with tuna. Just not me. But the burger was very good, served with "Jo-Jo's. Takes a while for food, as they are short staffed. No biggie. So, I'm thinking that the name of the brewery was either a home improvement store or apothecary. Ha Ha. You can look up their history on the little code thing on the table. Oh, and it's location can take up some navigating, so don't miss your turn off from Vaughn.

This is an easy place to have a beer and a snack. As mentioned in other reviews, the kale salad is the bomb, but I also love the Jo-Jo's. There is a single TV with sports. The seating arrangements and space have evolved since my first visit, but there is still room for making it a bit more warm. The front deck is nice with good weather. Service is at the bar only and not particularly fast, but definitely friendly. I didn't love their beers, but if someone else was buying, I would absolutely go back.

We were looking for a low key lunch in Portland. Really wanting someplace that was easy to access and had good food and beer. This place hit all the marks. Easy access for I-405 and free parking (Bonus!). Plenty of tables at 2 pm on Saturday. We had the dog and teenager, so we sat out side under the tents. It's a bright sunny 60+ degree day, so no issue there. Bar service to order. Easy. Good beer selection. Oh, and a bowl of water for the pup. The food came fast. A burger for me. Chicken tenders for the child. A burger (on a gluten free bun) and salad for the wife. Good flavor. Plenty hot. We will definitely be back.

This new-ish brewery and taphouse in Slabtown is really dialing it in. Over several visits, I've been quite impressed with both the beers and the food. The space is big, airy, and open to both the outdoor patio (and sidewalk seating) and the brewing operations, which is quite welcoming and very cool. The service is casual - order at the counter and receive your drinks, and the food will be brought out when it's ready. The bartenders do direct you to a table, so it's nice not to have to fight for seating if it's busy. Staff has always been friendly and welcoming during my visits. The beer is great as well. A tight list of standbys will please fans of most genres, while a few limited releases keep things interesting. While nothing blew me away particularly, the several suds I've tried have all been very pleasing, from the weissen to the porter. I particularly like the currant wheat, and hope they do a sour or a saison in the future. I do appreciate when a brewery has food that's beyond the typical fried pub grub, and the joint delivers here. While there's enough of that on offer - the fish and chips is a particular standout - there are also more creative and/or healthy offerings on offer. The ahi nachos are absolutely delightful, heaped with roe and creamy avocado, and the tuna melt features sliced tuna steaks rather than the ubiquitous tuna salad on buttery shokupan. I like that it's a bit off the beaten path in still-industrial Slabtown. When Breakside is slammed, head to Hammer & Stitch for cool brews and comforting, creative bites.

A large and yet welcoming brewery with friendly staff, indoor and outdoor covered sitting area and a small yet delightful food menu. I wanted to try a bunch of beers so tried the flight. They are known for their flagship lager and it was absolutely my favorite. The hefeweisen was good too but the lager was classic, clean finish and delicious. The food is reasonably proportioned. Location: This is off the main area, in an industrial revival neighborhood. Easy to get to and no problem finding parking.

BEST CIDER I HAVE HAD IN PORTLAND. Vibes were good. Bartender was nice. They have outdoor seating! Not an amazing view, but good seating.

5 star brewery for sure. Food was remarkable I had the Seafood portion of the menu and it was well executed. I had an IPA to go along with my meal and it was on point. I like the simplicity of the place , location and the setup up outdoor. The staff was excellent, definitely made a good impression for another trip when I'm in town.

Their beer and food have increased and improved! I do wish they would offer a guest cider and sour, for any friends we bring with us that may not be beer drinkers, but want to join for food and conversation. The setup of the seating behind the bar is a little odd, but the outdoor seating and big garage doors make for a cool & clean space.

AMAZING TUNA NACHOS! Wow wow wow. So surprised. The flavor profile was well blended. Nothing over powered in any bite. Whomever created this dish, don't change it and keep forever. I am coming back here with friends just for this dish alone. Great staff! Happy to be working, helpful, and informative. The only reason this joint is not five stars is because the libations are limited. For those of us who aren't beer drinkers who join our beer drinking friends, we'd love to be included on the menu. Would love more options on the drink menu. I ended up drinking water when I usually consume two/three drinks. Look at this photo I posted, zoom in. Look at how cool this dish looks! You gotta try!

I stopped in for a late lunch and a beer. I was pleasantly surprised by Hammer & Stitch. They are open with patio and limited indoor seating (COVID will e d eventually). The are good with dogs in the part. My four footed friend goes where I go. The beer was great. I tried a couple types and they we all good. I had a chicken sandwich special. It was great and highly recommended. A gent was packing up as I was ordering. He had a pork sandwich which he said was great. This place is often the beaten path. Yet well worth stopping by when your in the NW neighborhood.

A fun new brewery on the northwest side of Portland. Even though the address was in an industrial part of town, the brewery was quite easy to find. Spacious patio and open garage style doors led to good airflow in the seating area. For dinner we had the poke nachos. Wow. So good! The beer menu is small and simple. We tried one of each. Why not? All true to style. Nothing fancy. Everything pretty good. If I'm in the neighborhood, I'll be back to enjoy the patio, beers and those delicious poke nachos.

I wrote a review on "square" about my experience there (I was wrong about bar tender drinking) and I was confronted by the manager at my table while dining with my wife. Some how they new I wrote the review via my credit card. Very unprofessional and embarrassing. Will not return but the food and beer is very good. They need to reconsider their management culture.

I was given a gift card to Hammer and Stitch Brewing and I've been back several times since. It's a great vibe, with a simple feel. I love the food options and have brought other people back to check things out. The beer is great too, I am not a big beer drinker but I do love having a beer at Hammer and Stitch.

Another great lunch at Hammer and Stitch. This time we went with poke nachos and chicken tenders. Both exceeded expectations and we were stuffed after. I'll get a side of the homemade ranch to go with everything from now on!

Hammer & Stitch is a must-go spot for a nice beer and good grub. An awesome place to relax in the sun on their expansive patio with garage doors and open-air warehouse vibe. In addition to their quality beer, you can enjoy a great food menu filled with classic bar items. We chose to snack on some wings, chicken strips and vegan nuggets. Both the strips and nuggets came with a huge portion of jojo potato fries - more than enough to share between the five of us! I can tell this hidden gem will not be so hidden come summer time!

Just came for the beer and it's absolutely spot-on. Plenty of folks eating and it looks tasty, but only able to vouch for the brew. 10/10

The beer is nothing short of phenomenal. My personal favorite is The Amber, but I'm also a big fan of The Lager and The IPA and switch based on my mood in the moment. The food is also very good. The Fish and JoJo potatoes go very nicely with the beers. I've heard the hand pies are ridiculously good, so those are on my list for next time. They have a nice patio outside for outside dining and do a nice job with social distancing inside, where the garage doors have been open when I was there. This is my news favorite place in Portland and I'll be there often. Highly recommended!

I've been waiting for them to open for ... well, probably as long as they've been eager to open! Great to have a new brewery in the neighborhood! Their beers (just the basics on opening day) are solid, but their burger is awesome! Do yourself a favor and check 'em out - especially if it's a nice day and you can hang on the deck.

When they open at noon on a Saturday, it was empty. By the time we left at one, maybe 6 tables occupied. Service was quick and friendly. The kale/broccoli salad with fried chickpeas and a creamy lemon dressing was almost perfect.....had a bit too much salt to me, but that's a personal thing. Next time I'll just get dressing on the side. Husband's beer battered fish and jojo's were very tasty. We'll be back. Location is strange.....just have to know it's there, a block north of 23rd and NW Vaughn.

Get the wings. You won't be disappointed. The food was excellent and I enjoyed the vibes. Great atmosphere.

We only had one beer but I want to come back for food. They had kombucha which I love. Free parking all over and the area is cute. Great seating and outdoor lights. We would come back!

Love this place! Blue collar burger is always a good call. I like the house burger sauce and usually get extra for the jojos.

Stopped here on a whim the other day with my GF after hiking all day. This place was really great. They probably have the best Artichoke dip I've ever had! Chicken tenders and jojo's were spot on. My GF loved her salad. Great drinks too! We'll be back!

Decided to check this place out because we were near in town. I ordered The Amber beer and it was excellent. As for food, we ordered the popcorn shrimp and the veggie melt. Both of us were super satisfied! The popcorn shrimp portion was abundant for the cost, and the Jo Jo potato wedges were divine. The customer service was super friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves beer and delicious food.

I just recently found out about this place and I'm glad I did! Friendly staff and great beer! This has become one of my favorite places to come on Sundays to grab a bite to eat and a couple of beers. My bartender, Rae, was such a delight and was patient with me as I tasted many beers to find one I liked! Definitely recommending this brewery to all my friends.

My family and I took a mini trip to Portland and came to Hammer and Stitch for dinner. It was the most perfect spot for our family with young kids. The boys and husband all got the blue cordon burger and I got an ahi tuna nacho plate. My husband and I each got a beer. Everything blew our mind, including the friendly service! I highly recommend this family friendly, pet friendly, pub!

Yay!! A new brewery with excellent beer and food. Great outdoor seating. You can order from your phone or at the bar. All safety precautions were taken when we were there. I felt very comfortable. We had a stout that was delicious and an IPA that was also very good. We ordered grilled cheese and JoJo's. Also had popcorn shrimp. All fresh, hot and super enjoyable. The two workers there were friendly and helpful. This place is a must go!!

Dang, the food here is delicious! I had the Tuna Nachos and they were dreamy. Others in my party had the wedge salad and the hamburger and they also really enjoyed their meal. Bonus....the beer was tasty too. My fav is the "In My Tree" hazy pale ale.

Left Adidas employee store thirsty and hungry and found HS Brew nearby. Great menu with quality/tasty food to match. Beer (IPA and Lager) were both good enough to buy extra (cans) to take home.

Their service was fantastic and the beer and nachos were on point. Inside and outside seating with heaters.

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon. +1 they had well-spaced indoor & outdoor seating. +1 The IPA was a solid, well-hopped IPA. Delicious. Pale was similarly well-balanced, just eased up on the throttle. No complaints about the amber - balanced, full-bodied red. +1 to a great burger, but the jojos stole the show on food. Crispy and salty. Perfect beer food. Overall, a great add to the neighborhood and the Portland beer scene.

Nice spot with good food and beer selections. I had the wedge salad - they cut the wedge differently than I've had and it was genius! Highly recommend it (add the crispy chicken, you won't be sorry). We'll be back!

A must visit....a perfect set up with outdoor seating. Cover and non cover. Fantastic tunes. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the drinks were great. Also the staff is unbelievably friendly...highly recommend

We just found this gem of a brewery on Saturday and have already told so many of our friends about it. The beers were delicious and approachable. The food was 10 out of 10 and the customer service was extraordinary. I highly recommend the Pale Ale and the Ahi nachos. So yummy!

Everything about this place is amazing--the location, the beer, the vibe, the food, and the service. We will definitely be coming back!
