"Hammer & Stitch, a new brewery in Slabtown, is now serving malt-forward beers, crisp lagers, and hand-pies. The brewery, run by veteran Portland brewers Ben Dobler and Cameron Murphy, opened on Oct. 10 in the space formerly occupied by Clear Creek Distillery. The focus is on clean-and-simple lagers and ales with an emphasis on malt's role in beer-making. The brewery offers a porter that omits roasted malt, resulting in a lighter style. The kitchen, managed by Grand Cru Hospitality, offers a menu with burgers, wings, hand pies, and unique 'nachos' featuring deconstructed ahi tuna sushi on a wonton chip. Hammer & Stitch has a bright, open-concept taproom and offers socially distanced indoor, outdoor, and brewery area seating." - Ron Scott
