"A San Fernando Valley restaurant was cited by Los Angeles city attorney Mike Feuer for “flouting [the] safer at home order,” the attorney’s office has said. The restaurant, Hamptons 818 in Sherman Oaks, was among a list of 60 businesses cited by the city officer in a recent round of crack-downs, with the rest being smoke and vape shops, car washes, and other non-food businesses. However, a manager for Hamptons 818 tells CBS Los Angeles that the restaurant did not, in fact, allow diners to sit and eat inside; rather, there was a miscommunication between ownership and officers who arrived after hearing that the business had provided glasses of water to two people waiting to pick up their food order. “I don’t know what the lesson is, because everybody is already going through a tough time,” manager Adman Roushdy told CBS LA." - Farley Elliott

Great atmosphere for a brunch spot. It was really hot outside the day we went, but they did a great job keeping the place cool with air conditioning units and misting. The endless mimosas are great $15 and you have a wide selection of mixes to choose from like peach, cranberry or their own Hamptons mix plus more. The food was good and had a great visual presentation too. I ordered the lox and bagel which was delicious. My brother got the lobster egg Benedict and that was amazing! I would recommend coming here with a big group for brunch!

My family and I come here for Sunday Brunch often. I would've given my visit five stars but this time there was a misunderstanding about the reservations for my niece's graduation celebration. Long story short, the manager apologized and gave us a discount on the bill. Overall, the food and drinks at Hamptons 818 is very good. I recommend this place. Btw, they open at 11am at the earliest during the week.

An okay experience at Hamptons818. It's all outside seating which can be uncomfortable if it's cold. They offer heaters (and blankets which is pretty cool) but our experience was the heaters were too hot, and we would have preferred to have been able to sit inside somewhere. Ordered the Quinoa hash browns in which the quinoa was hardly a presence at all. Honestly anything with "hash browns" in the title is going to get my attention so I'm not sure I missed the quinoa, but if you've also got "quinoa" in the dish title as the first word, you'd think the quinoa would have made more of an appearance. The Egg white Omelette with Brie and Kale tasted great but wasn't particularly warm (a product of being outside?) It was served in a skillet - kudos to any restaurant who serves food in skillets. It's like we're camping! (especially since we were outside...) We also had the Breakfast Egg Cups. Ordered without cheese for dietary reasons. They were a bit overcooked without the kind of "ooziness" one might enjoy in the yolk part of an egg. The cheese probably would have given these a flavor boost which was needed. Service-wise both adults were brought our entrees before our kid was brought his (just a granola.) It's always frustrating when dishes don't come out at the same time, but feels like a particular no-no to not bring a kid their meal first. They also forgot to bring the ordered side of fruit and cream for the coffee. There were a good amount of gluten-free options in the pancake area...my gluten-free wife would have enjoyed a gluten free bread option. The coffee was serviceable but I've had much stronger/bolder....but this was at least better than the thin/standard "office-roast" you get a lot of diners. In the end they did offer a discount for the service and mistakes, which was thoughtful, but, of course, when you're spending a chunk of money on the sacred brunch meal, it leaves you, literally, with a better taste in your mouth, when these mistakes don't happen.

We came yesterday for a birthday party. It was a buffet style table. I'll honest, everything we tried was delicious. I'm not sure if it the same plates as on the regular menu. Beef skewers with veggies, chicken skewers, sautéed fries. Servers were on top of everything. Great!

Food was good, service needed improvement. Slightly misleading happy hour menu, bottomless mimosas nowhere suggest the $15 charge on top of the entree

This place is a cute hidden gem in the valley and a great find. Nice decor. Good for groups and very nice bar. I went here for breakfast and they had a huge menu selection of egg dishes, pancakes (including gluten free selection), French toast, avocado toast and more. I opted for the Hampton Hash which contains smoke salmon, hash browns and served with toast. It was good but I did wish that I tried the pancakes... maybe next time. I noticed that they have Happy Hour $5 items so definitely want to come back. It is perfect place to do a get together with friends. Go early in the day or later in the afternoon when the sun goes down because no air conditioning just big fans as the restaurant is really an "outdoor" place with a big tent roof so it can get really hot. Valet and street parking. Friendly staff.

We went in for a nice dinner, and we were enjoying ourselves until the place filled up with hookah smoke. They need to advertise this as a hookah lounge. It's a shame because we thought we had found our new favorite place. I'm giving it three stars because the food and drinks and service were good. Here's hoping that the owners take advantage of the amazing atmosphere they created and change it to a regular bar/restaurant that everyone can enjoy.
