"New Malden is home to Europe’s biggest and most effervescent South Korean population, with something like 20,000 Koreans living in the area. Samsung set up its first European headquarters here, the South Korean embassy was initially here too, and all around are Korean churches and schools, supermarkets and restaurants, and even a Korean newspaper. It’s great, and the area will be buzzing every time South Korea play over the next four weeks. This guide singles out Han Restaurant because i) there’s karaoke ii) the interior is incredible and iii) the owners confirmed that Han is showing only South Korea games." - James Bird

"Does excellent beef noodle soup and BBQ pork belly prompt you to burst into song? Is a Tuesday afternoon spent singing BTS bangers in between bites of kimchi pancake your dream scenario? Get to Han Restaurant in New Malden. This Korean spot’s tucked-away location at the bottom of an office tower belies the fun and grandeur found inside. Whether you stay in the restaurant with stunning seating in four raised wooden pavilions, nab one of the few tables in the secluded courtyard, or head downstairs to the set of karaoke rooms, you’ll be well looked after by the friendly staff. Plus you'll be well fed and watered—the shelf of spirits behind the bar is packed with everything for a night to remember… or forget." - Daisy Meager

Extremely unique interior. We didn't know we needed to make a reservation but nevertheless they managed to seat us somewhere. I would definitely recommend booking a table so you can have access to ordered the Korean bbq menu options. The service was good, however my friends food took so long to come about 30 minutes from the time mine arrived. We alerted the staff and they apologized and took away the service fee from the bill. This is a place I would definitely come to again to have the full experience of the karaoke and Korean bbq options.

Subpar Experience FOODS Their food taste was not so great or tasty, very bland. I ordered a calamari with rice, apparently it was meant to be very spicy. I didn't feel much spice, or maybe I am used to spice. But the calamari pieces didn't have any taste, my company who tried it before said it was meant to taste like that. The starter we got was a sweet chilli chicken and that tasted amazing especially the sauce. One of the stew we ordered tasted so bland that the chef had to make a new one which tastes better. SERVICES Customer service was good, no complaints and no issues. From the person taking our orders, to the person serving at the bar, they gave good customer service. Though I didn't see any Koreans working there, where there even Korean chefs? The seats were comfortable; the tables, chopsticks and spoon were clean. Everywhere was neat and tidy. We were the only customers there, it was quiet at the time we went around 6pm. Wheelchair users can get in easily, but entrance door is not automatic. The unique thing about this restaurant is that it has decor that resembles Korea, from building, wood types to rooftops. This is one of the perks of this restaurant, is the decorations. They also do karaoke as well but I don't have any details regarding it. Also there are lots of seating places. We walked in and did not booked a table. PRICE Prices for mains typically range from £11 to £13. Drink prices are from £3, and they serve you in a glass which is good. However the ginger ale that one of our team ordered tasted water down. Service charge is 10%. For group of 4 we ended up paying almost £80 for 1 starter, 4 mains and 4 drinks. The price for the starter was quite pricey, the sweet chilli chicken. Also they don't have menus, you need to select or place your order using your phone and pinging it to a QR Code. OVERALL I am seating on the fence here to recommend this place. One of our team who ate with us said he had been here quite few times, and sometimes their food are tasty, and other days are not so good. This is a Korean restaurant like others, and there are so many in New Malden. But what makes this unique is the aesthetics of Korean decoratives, they also have Karaoke nights. I would want to go back to try other dishes, because I was not happy with my calamari rice. Also one thing I disliked about this place was the watered down ginger ale, and watered down stew. I would say try it once, it is nice to have a Korean meal with Korean decorations.

Amazing. Had my 50th here with a group of friends. Karaoke is fun, limited list but great rooms and superb service. The food is amazing and we had a great time. I will definitely come back. Aimee and the team were brilliant. Thank you.

very unique interior but it was almost empty when we ate there, i believe it was a thursday. we ordered a kbbq set (bulgogi) between 3 people and also a budae jigae. the meat was not bad and the kimchi (free). there was also a free salad which looked a bit sad but was not bad. other than those, there was no free banchan as with traditional kbbqs the budae jigae was not bad although i don’t think there was a lot of noodles in there. overall i don’t think its the best place for kbbq in new malden as we walked down the high street later and there were several places which looked even better, even though Han was ranked first on some blog we found online i don’t think i will return here or recommend for people visiting new malden and want to try kbbq

This restaurant was touted by friends as fantastic for Korean food, one of the best in New Malden. It was based on their last visit, which was a year ago. So both us and our lunch group had high expectations. Alas, this was not to be. Han has become hit and miss place it seems. Pajeon tasted sourish, as was the Namu starter veg (unfortunately). The chap jae wasn't authentic and was mixed with chilli. We ordered four rice bowls, but they could only deliver three. As some of the dishes tasted "off", we inquired and the waiter promised to follow up with the kitchen but never came back with an answer. The one salvation for Han was the squid and pork dish, such was good but expensive. Overall, Han's prices are dear but for tl what you pay, one would expect more. Our party left very disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic food. Lovely staff who could not do enough to make the experience better. Every bite had us all saying "this is the best food we've had!"

Gorgeous restaurant, great service and delicious food! We got meat platter 1, doenjang jiggae, makgeolli and some tea which was perfect for 3 people/slightly too much but everything was so yummy we finished it all :)) The waiters are friendly too, thank you Luke for your great service!

Nice enough. Dumplings, noodles, bulgogi and bibimbap good. Seafood pancake undercooked in the middle. Service ok. Empty plates not cleared.

Yelp
Han is directly next to New Malden station and is also serviced by the 213 bus. At the same location that used to be known as Ronnie's, Han is a wonderful example of how boring places can be revamped and made to look classy. A beautifully modern designed interior instantly takes you away from the ugly exterior and surrounding of the Apex Tower. The food is good, there is a seperate bar area that you can relax in, and there are also downstairs function rooms that are available for hire (by the hour) for karaoke events. I have had a couple of cracking nights out here, and the quirky karaoke rooms are definitely worth checking out for a laugh, even if you don't decide to enjoy the food

Yelp
I went to this restaurant for an anniversary. Granted, it was some time ago, but we did not have the greatest experience. The food was over-priced and really quite bland. We had a cocktail each and my husband had the 'house' cocktail (a gamble, yes) which turned out to be a pink vodka drink. Awful. Sadly, we will not be going back.

Yelp
I enjoyed what I had at Han, whilst the food was far from anything special, it does stick to the root of classical Korean cuisine, with plenty of bold and flavoursome tastes. Price wise was really outstanding, we had plenty of food and ended up only paying £12 each, you would need to pay double the price for something similar in central London so overall it was a really satisfying dinner, and maybe if I ever return in the future I might test my vocal skill in one of its private karaoke rooms...

Yelp
Ok so no reviews for 4 years it's now May 2012 it's still a Karaoke bar with food in the centre of New Malden there are lots of Korean Restaurants in the high street so how does it rate ? Well, just ordered food it's a quiet Monday and the atmosphere is chilled out. So far so good. Read some other googled reviews while waiting but in my experience most bad reviews are just unlucky nights out where the person goes into work the next day and flames the place not really fair. Not the fastest of service but still polite. You can say the food is ok 7/10 not that hot and they only had one order to prepare So perhaps just stick to the mixed starters rather than the main courses
