10 Local-Favorite Bars and Restaurants Around Nashville | Eater

"Joining the original location in Scottsdale, Arizona, Hand Cut is a welcome addition to the SoBro district of downtown Nashville. Situated in the Embassy Suites, Hand Cut serves lunch and dinner featuring a menu of modern chophouse fare served in the elegant dining room. On selected evenings, dinner may be accompanied by live music. The selection of burgers includes a luxurious truffle cheeseburger and a classic burger topped with sweet onions and gooey American cheese. Steak options are highlighted by a massive two-and-a-half pound Tomahawk bone-in ribeye served with torched rosemary and butter. A small offering of pasta dishes caters to diners seeking non-beef options." - Chris Chamberlain

We showed up at 530pm (with a reservation) and the hostess seated us next to another couple, very close to each other. But it wasn't necessary since there were a lot of open tables. We ordered a house salad side dish and I was very disappointed. It was mostly white romaine. Not appealing to me. I let our waiter, William, know and he said he would remove the item from our bill. I tried the braised beef and it was very good. The sauce was very tasty. My wife tried the black truffle coulotte. It was cooked perfectly and has a buttery truffle. Very good tasting. The decor is very nice and there was a live singer on stage. Open space but most tables are close to each other. The check included the unsatisfactory salad, so I mentioned it to the William and he apologize for the mistake. Overall, I think it's overpriced. I won't be returning.

I came here for my friend's birthday, and it was exquisite. The atmosphere and the aesthetic is amazing with amazing live music being played. Our server was Christian and he made my friend feel so extra special on her birthday. He really went above and beyond to make this a great experience. The drinks were amazing and the food was up to standard. WE LOVE YOU CHRISTIAN <33!!

Love the wings and sliders. Also the waffle old fashion is my favorite. The staff is very polite especially Tori was excellent at making drinks. Plus live music.Definitely going back when im in Nashville

I came here after having bad service at Sky Lounge, and let me tell you how amazing this place is! The steak was incredible, and the service was even better. The manager walked the floor and stopped by my table multiple times to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. After feeling so unwanted at Sky Lounge, that level of attention meant so much. The atmosphere here was fantastic, and the live music made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

We ate here recently and had a solid experience overall, with a few things that kept it from being a true standout—especially for the price point. Our server, Christian, was excellent. He was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without being intrusive. The drinks were a highlight: I had the Waffle Cone Old Fashioned (really well done), and my wife enjoyed the Blackberry Mojito. For an appetizer we tried the Aji Stack. It was decent, but the avocado and cucumber came through more than the tuna. The wontons, however, were excellent. One funny downside: the plate it was served on spun when you tried to scoop from it, which made it oddly difficult to eat—interesting, but not ideal. For dinner, my wife ordered the marinated flat iron and really enjoyed it. I had the filet mignon. The filet was fine, but there was too much char and it overpowered the flavor. On the other hand, the sides were great—especially the Brussels sprouts and the salt and vinegar fries. My biggest issue is value. At this price level, I expected a bit more consistency, and it was disappointing that they don’t validate parking at the attached Embassy hotel. If you’re charging premium pricing, parking is something you should help guests with. Overall, I’d consider going back, mainly for the service and sides, but it wouldn’t be my first choice if I’m specifically in the mood for steak.

I love to visit when I am in Nashville! One of the best picks on/near Broadway. Darian did such an amazing job serving a large group for my 50th birthday that we returned with a group of ladies to celebrate a 21st birthday, where Darian provided another perfect night. They let us have a cake delivered and provided full service. Appetizers are great. Steaks perfectly grilled. Tomahawks are big enough for a large group to share with Salmon or other protein choices and several sides to give everyone a lot of options. Everything we have tried has been great. I'd say parties of 4+ are the most fun as it's not a very intimate space and the patio is on a busy street if you're looking for something romantic.

My wife and I went to Hand Cut Chophouse Nashville for our 8th Anniversary. William was our server. He was phenomenal. I highly recommend this restaurant and ask for William. You will not be disappointed. Food was delicious and service was the best that we have experienced in a long time. Thank you, William for making our Anniversary special!

Google
One of the BEST dining experiences I’ve ever had in Nashville! The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were top-notch, and the service was beyond exceptional. We were lucky to have William as our server—he went above and beyond to make my birthday celebration with friends so special. I ordered the Black Truffle Coulotte, and it was cooked to perfection with incredible flavor. Everything from start to finish felt thoughtful and elevated. If you’re visiting downtown Nashville, I HIGHLY recommend Hand Cut Chophouse. You won’t be disappointed!

Yelp
Service has been impeccable, bands are solid. Flavor out of this world. 6 out of 5 stars. Truly a great experience.

Yelp
We (2 Couples) went into Hand Cut with high expectations after reading so many reviews but we were sadly disappointed. The guitar player was very talented and we lingered after our disaster dinner to watch him play several more songs. The massive bank of TVs with football games on behind him was distracting and turned an upscale steakhouse into a sports bar. With live music, the waitress should have come and stood by each of us individually as we gave our orders so she could hear us, but instead she stayed in one place for all four orders, and as a result, misheard our orders. Our friends ordered a salad to share and a truffled steak dish to share. They also ordered truffled mash potatoes but were later told the restaurant was out of them. They asked for extra dressing and assumed the salad would come out before the entree as most nice steakhouses do. Hubby ordered a steak salad, no onions, blue cheese, or tomatoes and changed the dressing to vinaigrette. He also ordered fries. I ordered a truffle burger no bun and no candied tomatoes. The waitress never refilled water glasses or asked if hubby wanted another soft drink, so by the time some of the food came out, only the two wine drinkers had anything to drink. All the food including salads came out at once. No steak salad for hubby and his fries did not come out with everything else. They brought out two identical salads, one with no dressing at all and the other with a small cup of dressing on the side. We assumed the kitchen split our friend''s salad and we were waiting for hubby's steak salad and fries. My truffle burger did not have truffle Mayo so my friend shared his with me. Hubby had no food at all. We asked for the food runner to find our waitress to report the missing and incorrect orders. Five minutes later, no waitress so we asked the food runner again to find our waitress. She finally came over and said hubby's fries would be out shortly. She then indicated one of the salads we had already received was hubby's even though it had tomatoes and It had no steak and no dressing, She said she missed that he ordered a steak salad and stated the kitchen would make him a new salad. She also indicated the fries will be coming and a minute or two later, the fries arrived. She agreed to bring more dressing for our friends' salad. She appeared annoyed that we were unhappy. She seemed to blame us for "our" miscommunication because we asked for "a lot of modifications". The waitress indicated she had notified the manager that there were problems. I mentioned that my truffle burger did not have truffle Mayo and she said that was "the manager's problem". Eventually, she apologized but it was disingenuous. Three of us finished our food while hubby just had French fries. No drinks refilled and no sign of the manager. Waitress came by and told us the manager comped hubby's steak salad and left without asking about more drinks or filling the now empty water glasses or offering hubby another soft drink. Hubby finally got angry enough to seek out the manager who apologized and eventually comped our whole meal. Finally hubby's salad came but by then he was too angry/annoyed to eat it. He eventually came home and had leftovers from a previous restaurant. We stayed for two more songs from the amazing musician. Three stars because the manager really tried to apologize and make it right, but the manager should consider if this waitress is suitable for the service industry and the waitress really needs to think about if waitressing is the right job for her. Oh, and turn off those TVs when performers are on stage or charge sports bar pricing.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant. Live music when we were there. We ordered way too much food but most of what we tried was pretty good. Apps/steaks/sides/desserts. My favorite was the truffle steak. The sides need some work -like the Brussels were just burnt to a crisp and didn't taste very good- the fries weren't anything great either. Desserts were delicious! Service was very slow. I felt like we were there forever. It's definitely a tourist experience with tourist pricing. Like most of the city.

Yelp
Lunch spot with friendly & fast service. Ordered the steak salad. Immediately said absolutely not to the steak and swapped in salmon. Salmon is better anyway. Best decision of the day. The salmon was solid, the salad still hearty, and I got all the steakhouse vibes without committing to steakhouse consequences. Love a flexible menu moment.

Yelp
We went out to dinner with a client. The waiter was excellent. I decided to order truffle burger which was good. I added a large fries which were below average and left most of them. Total was $30 for burger with fries in my opinion not worth it. The sangria also was not good. The musician was very good! The place was clean and had a good staff.

Yelp
Went for our anniversary and had Darrian as our server. He went above and beyond for us. We split a Caesar salad to start and they actually brought it out split! It was a great touch. My husband got a tomahawk steak and enjoyed every bite. I got the smallest steak they had and it was delicious. Everything cooked to perfection and our server was amazing! The decor was cool and we had candles on our tables. Bathroom very clean! We would definitely go back if in the area again.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance. Service started off super well and then it got busy and we were forgotten about. It wasn't that big of a deal since we had no where to go so we enjoyed the music, but another drink would have been nice to have in the meantime. Overall, would go back.

Yelp
Yummm! The food is really good. We had the best time and we plan to be back soon. The atmosphere is great for all occasions.

Yelp
My only negative would be the noise level. It was loud. I loved the live music and that was not the issue that was at a great volume. It was just the general noise in the room. Other than that, our food was phenomenal. The drinks were delicious and the bottle of wine we had was reasonably priced. I didn't keep the pictures, but my husband had the New York strip. I had the fillet and we shared the truffle mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious. The truffle mashed potatoes were definitely a stand out. I am sorry that we waited this long to visit.

Yelp
Oh my gosh! I just had THE best burger of my life! What did I order? It was the Truffle Burger. My husband got the Western Burger minus the BBQ sauce and was equally impressed. The quality of the meat was outstanding. It came out beautifully, and the taste was absolutely outstanding! We decided to sit in the bar for dinner. Tori was our server. She was incredibly personable and knowledgeable about the menu. This place is a A+

Yelp
In town for a conference at Music City Center. Almost walked past this place because it blends in so well with the rest of the block. Checked in with the server and went with outdoor seating. Very nice atmosphere on the inside but the weather was so nice I couldn't pass up outdoor seating. Service was prompt and attentive. I decided to go with a Routstock Cabernet and small salty fries for an appetizer. For the main I chose the ribeye and citrus asparagus. Steak was cooked well. I would have preferred a thick cut version for a bit more. Thin cut steaks remind me too much of a Waffle House breakfast item. The lava cake for dessert was the crowning item. The raspberry compote was an amazing addition to the cake. Service and atmosphere are good. This would be a nice place to grab a drink on the patio and watch the birds fly around if you wanted to skip the main course.

Yelp
Lovely resturant with a very well styled interior. Service is nice but slow to start. Food is tasty but a bit pricey which I attribute to the location. ~$120 + tip for two people. Took about 30 minutes for anyone to come to our table. The waffle cone whiskey drink is so cute and I'd highly recommend it.

Yelp
While staying in the hotel thought I'd just eat here so I didn't walk. Should have walked. The first thing when I came I asked for table in the donning room and the hostess procced to talking me into sitting in the bar and that it was happy hour and she would get me a menu for it. Never saw her again. The food came and the fries most were grey not from being burned more like the potato was bad and fried. Service was marginal. Bottomline go elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
Ate here during a business trip. It was packed but we were able to get 2 seats at the bar. This was great because it was fun to watch them make different drinks. Our food was wonderful. Highlight for me was the steak sandwich. Bread was light and lots of flavors on the sandwich. We also had fries (the large is REALLY big), tempura zucchini seasoned well, and the meatball dip was surprisingly delicious. Everything we ate was really good. Definitely will return.

Yelp
Food and service were amazing. The Smoked Waffle Old Fashioned is highly recommended. Great music and atmosphere. Definitely recommend going.

Yelp
I recently dined at hand cut while in Nashville and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of elegance and comfort. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner or a casual night out, this place delivers. The live bad was great. It added to the fun ambiance. The service was outstanding--our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. The menu offered a great selection, catering to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences. Our waiter was the reason why I was able to get a Cesar salad and I added steak, which wasn't on the menu but a great idea. Glad I got it. Overall, Hand cut exceeded my expectations. The quality of the food, the attentive service, and the inviting atmosphere make it a must-visit. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return!

Yelp
Lovely presentation. The flavor of the spinach dip was good, however the consistency was similar to that of a paste. That on top of dry bread did not pair well in my opinion. The salad was great, 10/10 highly recommend. The bar staff's awareness of hygiene etiquette is questionable. The lady kept fiddling around with her hair. The male appeared to touch his nose/face. Exposed bruises were on the back side of his hands. Neither seemed to wash their hands after these actions. In addition, the attention to service and the needs of the customers were subpar. The host was not personable. She did not part her lips to greet us coming in/leaving out. They would be better off having a statue stationed at the host stand. The experience here was underwhelming.

Yelp
If I could leave a zero I would. We are in town next door to the restaurant. We looked to make a reservation but they had openings every 15 minutes for the whole night. We walked in (we have two kids, 6 and 8) and asked for a table for 4. The hostess was incredibly rude from the start and told us there was an hour wait. The restaurant was empty. We walked outside, made a reservation for 15 minutes later and walked back in. The hostess was furious. She told us "reservations don't work like that" and "that's just a waitlist for the actual reservation." For context the reservation on Open Table said none of that. She said they could seat us outside because "no one else wants to sit out there" because it's 55 degrees. We said, that's fine, just want to sit. We were seated outside and waited 15 minutes with no one ever coming to the table. We went inside to ask to speak to a manager. Another rude hostess told us they were too busy and "a lot of reservations came in over the last 15 minutes." We were nothing but polite and courteous. Our kids are sweet and incredibly well behaved. This restaurant just didn't want us there. Incredibly insulting.

Yelp
While staying at Embassy Suotes for a work conference, I dined and had drinks here on two nights and just had drinks on an additional night. For food, I had the Chicken BLT Sandwich wrapped in lettuce one night and it was satisfying. It only came with the sandwich which was perfect for me. I had the California Burger wrapped in lettuce another night and it was very tasty! I highly recommend. I tried several different drinks. The Guava Margarita was delightful and refreshing. The guava was a perfect touch. Their tequila sodas with fresh lime juice are incredible! They are strong but taste good. I enjoyed a glass of Saldo one night and it had a nice richness to it. Lastly, I had an Old Fashioned night cap on my last evening. I am not much a brown liquor drinker but I actually enjoyed it and finished the drink! The clear ice block is perfect. It melts at a perfect rate so not to dilute the cocktail. All the bartenders at Hand Cut are very friendly and attentive. While dining alone one night, they covered my drink while I went to the restroom. I really appreciated this! The ambiance was immaculate. Great for all settings--drinks with coworkers, date night, dinner with friends, dinner alone, etc. They have live music and each artist that performed was fantastic! Each experience was great and memorable. I will definitely come back, either for just drinks or for dinner too, during my next stay in Nashville.

Yelp
Picked this place because it had a great happy hour! Drinks and bites were on the list so it was a must on my list! I originally made a reservation but when we were seated they explained happy hour was bar only, I wish this was advertised so we didn't have that awkward interaction with the waiter about moving to the bar. Anyway, not a big deal and we moved to the bar. The bartender was friendly and stuck up a conversation and explained the happy hour. There was some great live music being played in the background. I really appreciated that it wasn't too loud and we were still able to have a conversation. We ended up with the blackberry mojito, tempura zucchini, spinach and artichoke dip, and the Burger and Bud Light special. The star of the show was the tempura zucchini!!! Fried perfectly, well seasoned, great dipping sauce... I'm still thinking about them!! The spinach dip was not for me. It was under seasoned with a strong sharp cheese flavor. The burger was cooked a perfect medium. We really liked the house sauce -- it was like a Big Mac sauce. Last thing to note is the cocktails are strong! Definitely worth the price for the amount of alcohol. I wish the blackberries were muddled like a traditional mojito but all in all a great drink.

Yelp
The restaurant was beautiful. First time visiting Nashville, this place could have made a better experience and impression especially on my birthday. The waiter was decent but he could have been more friendly. The crab mac and cheese & mashed potatoes had no flavor. The chicken wings & lava cake were delicious. My fiancée complained that the ribeye was too greasy and had a soup consistency. Hand cut charges $40 for salmon but does not have lobster on the menu. My fiancé said the chicken sandwich at The Stillery was better than the rib eye at Handcut. Go elsewhere. Also very overpriced.
google avatar

Kamari W.

Yelp
This place and experience was amazing. Great location, great vibes, great service and a bonus...live music! The food is excellent honestly one if the best steaks if not the best steak I've ever had. Highly recommend the Filet Mignon...Medium Rare! Lol!

Yelp
Came in since I was staying at the hotel and it smelled great! Sat at the bar since it was just me the restaurant is beautiful love the decor. My bar tender was very nice. Got my old fashion. I would say if you're use to having your old fashion with one large rock as it should be there is an up charge for the ice my first time ever seeing that and up charge for old fashion I guess since I chose the type of bourbon I wanted. All bars are different but just letting you know if you are like me and particular. I tried the house salad and meatballs. The salad was pretty standard I will say not sure if it was the ranch or what but something was super sweet on the salad. The meatballs were good. More like meat in the red sauce but flavor was well. It comes with grilled bread not sure if I just have sensitive palate but the char on the bread rendered it non edible for me just tasted like burnt bread which saddened me because I love a good toasted bread. Over all I am glad I stopped in and would come back and try other items.

Yelp
We were staying at the hotel here and decided to try out the restaurant downstairs. We ordered the ahi tuna stack, Brussels sprouts, balsamic tomato bucatini and cali burger. My favorite part was the burger because the patty was cooked perfectly and very juicy. All of the other dishes were okay. Brussels sprouts were a little too sweet and were almost too roasted / tasted almost burnt. The ahi stack was pretty good - we liked the wonton chips that went with it. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pasta 6/10. Vibes were great. We loved the decor, ambiance and live music! Service was also great. Our waitress came by many times to ask how we were doing. If I were to come back I would probably only get the burger.
google avatar

Yelp
I ate here while I was out of town and I was looking for a delicious steak. This place did not disappoint. I chose to eat at the bar for the happy hour steak meal. The portions were large. I had a filet mignon and mashed potatoes, which were absolutely delicious. The service was wonderful. It was really fun sitting at the bar and watching the bartenders make all the drinks. The hostesses were so kind. If I am ever back in Nashville, I will definetely visit here again.
google avatar

Courtney H.

Yelp
I thought my food was very good here. I got the tomato pasta and it had a ton of balsamic, which I LOVE! Noodles were also great. I don't know if they were homemade but it tasted like it. They had a local singer singing in there. It wasn't too loud so it was a nice vibe. Decorations were upscale. Service was slow.
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
Dinner with a large party of 25-30. We were sat on time and well taken care of. Food was excellent. Many had steaks but probably hit a lot of the meh all around. No complaints from a very large group. Cocktails were craft. Some really really good unique ones. Definitely a great restaurant with spectacular service and even live music to boot. The whole package.
google avatar

Dayna C.

Yelp
Always my favorite stop when in Nashville for their gin cocktail, which is both beautiful and delicious! Steaks are consistently good as well.
google avatar

Doretta W.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Everyone loved what they ate ... honey garlic wings, steak sandwich, and western bacon hamburger. Well prepared, flavors were solid. The service was a little slow, but she had tables all over the restaurant floor. The live entertainment was fun but stopped for the football game on large screen. It is a fairly large space with tables for larger groups, booths, bar seating, and patio areas.
google avatar

Elyse A.

Yelp
We had rooms booked at the Embassy for the weekend and we had a larger group of 13. I was able to talk to the manager and work with them to reserve us a table on Friday night right up close to the band. They were so helpful and super accommodating as I had to change the time once, too. The restaurant is so pretty and well decorated! Service was amazing, especially with out large group. They did have us split into two groups but right next to each other sharing a bench. It really did work out for the best with people getting up to go to the bathroom. The live band was great, and their stage setup makes it feel super intimate and exclusive. The food was amazing! We started with the tuscan meatballs, zucchini and the artichoke dip. They were SO good - the meatballs were a crowd favorite but everything was enjoyed. I had asked our server for her rec on the pastas and she recommended the Creamy Chicken Pasta and she did not steer me wrong. Decadent! I woke up and ate the leftovers are 6AM! Overall, 10/10 experience based on working with the staff ahead of time, our actual dinner and service, and the fact that I got a follow-up email asking about our experience (not an automated one either!) = i'm impressed and would highly recommend!
google avatar

Vianca P.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and sat in the cocktail area. The service was not fast, we actually had to wait about 13 minutes for the server to greet our table, and the hostess ended up being the one to bring waters to the table and apologize for the wait, but the server was nice and had good recommendations for food. I had the grilled chicken Caesar Salad. Chicken was seasoned well, dressing was pretty good. The person with me had the creamy chicken pasta and said it was pretty good. I was only in town visiting, but lunch for me wasn't spectacular so I don't think I'd go again if I were in the area again.
google avatar

Karina T.

Yelp
The two white hostess's that greet you at the entrance were extremely rude they did not greet us with a smile they seemed snobby & stuck up. Made us feel unwelcome & uncomfortable. One of them sat us at a table and i asked if there was a booth available because i have an 8 year old and she was like "No I don't think so", she didn't even check to see if one was available. Our waitress however was super nice friendly and welcoming. She greeted us with a smile and let us sit at a booth. The food was amazing. I would have given 5 starts but the hostess's killed the vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a perfect place to have an intimate dinner with your special person or hangout with a group of friends, it can accommodate any/most size groups. Their rib eye steak is arguably the most tender most flavorful piece of meat in the state. The Brussels sprouts were mouth watering and the mashed potatoes were the perfect consistency. Their portions are big so order accordingly. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
I will start with the good..... the cocktails are ON POINT! The butter cake.... was FANTASTIC...service by Maria was great. The Ehhh.... Ahi Stack was ok, but not GREAT. The tuna is mixed with mayo and to me it killed the taste. It was beautiful presentation though. I ordered the Steak Salad. Didn't take a pic bc it wasn't photo worthy. Ordered Mid Rare..... came out rare but didn't send it back. The amount of steak on the steak salad equates to 4 little strips. For the price.... NOT worth it. We also ordered the wagyu sliders. Came out like hockey pucks. So bad. Sent them back. Ambiance was nice. There was a signer on the stage, not loud, but nice. I would come back though!

Yelp
My husband and I decided to spend our Wedding Anniversary here and my god were we left highly disappointed. We had reservations but we were sat in the very front of the restaurant. Directly in front of the live singer who was great but poorly dressed for the atmosphere. We waited for a waiter for a bit and the never received the name or did her he even Acknowledge that it was our anniversary. The food we received was horrible burnt smell on both of our steaks and we would have to wait impossible amount of wait times just to get the waiter to return. Get this, I asked for steak sauce in a steakhouse and was told it was an additional $5.00. I think what you're paying for here is the location of being In downtown Nashville. Beautiful establishment but horrible service and food. Definitely not worth the price Logan's would have done a better job than they did .

Shelia D.

Yelp
Great ambience! So chic perfect for date night We ordered some spritz and old fashion to start the night off. Then we ordered some appetizers: wings, spinach dip and fries. Ordered their salmon and steak salad. Service was great, our server was fast and food came out not long after. We all enjoyed everything. Great night, great food and great drinks!

Yelp
While walking around downtown on a Saturday night over Memorial Day weekend, my boyfriend and I were a little overwhelmed to say the least. Almost all the restaurants were packed with lines that we were ready to get back into the car and head back towards Franklin where we were staying when we came across Hand Cut Chophouse. The place was full and they had a couple playing live music and I figured we would have to wait at least 45 min but nope, they sat us right away and right in front of the stage. Our waiter was friendly and polite. We ordered the fried zucchini appetizer. That was just okay- nothing to rave about. I ordered the hand cut classic burger- that was really delicious and my boyfriend ordered the bone-in New York and he said it was delicious. We also got the sweet potato & salt and vinegar fries as sides. I would've preferred them to be a bit more crispy. Overall a good stop for a bite and the entertainment and ambiance was very nice.

Berkley E.

Yelp
This really isn't a steak house. The music, atmosphere, and appetizers are great. But the steaks and the service were lacking. Steaks weren't hot, the plates weren't hot, and we had to wait 5 minutes after our food was served to get steak knives. My steak was full of grissel and was raw and cold. I told the waitress and all I got was an apology.

Yelp
Had a nice date night here at Hand Cut. Maria was our server and she was so sweet and attentive. Very friendly! I really enjoyed the food. My husband got the salmon and I got the flat iron. We shared the sweet potato fries and loved it. I will say that the dessert was a let down. The butter cake was dry and a sad way to end a delicious meal. I wish we would have ordered a different dessert.

Yelp
Truthfully I was initially excited to eat here. We came in around 7:50 and it was very busy with an hour wait. My group wanted to go elsewhere but I still put us down for the hour wait. About an hour and 20minutes still no text. I checked with the hostess and she said 15 more minutes and literally in the same sentence said our table was ready. Our server was awesome and pretty much made up for the initial experience. Food was ok prices match the food service would be horrible if based on your front line staff but the rest of the team picks up their slack. Personal opinion your greeters/hostesses are messing up your bottom line dollars. I would have spent more and tipped heavier if they started my experience differently. Either spot coach em our coach em out... they are on several reviews

Yelp
I made reservations for a party of 4 to celebrate hubby & I 22nd anniversary. We arrived on time , received a warm welcome by the hostess and was seated promptly. We visited on a Monday night during the July 4th holiday. I very much enjoyed the two young ladies providing live music. Our server, Darrin ( I hope I spelled his name correctly) was phenomenal. PROS The ribeye was insanely delicious.. Cocktails were decent Ambiance was great. This place is gorgeous, I love the classy feel. We were surprised with a sparkler and complimentary wine. The bread pudding was delicious. CONS The pasta was not yummy, lacked flavor. It wasn't horrible, but I need some basil and black pepper to be added to the dish. Even the white sauce was bland. Overall we really enjoyed our anniversary dinner and would return for the ribeye, service and ambiance.

Yelp
I'll be honest, my expectations were low when I looked for a *new* restaurant to try and Hand Cut popped up. I'm not exactly sure where I saw it, but the restaurant was called "Hand Cut Burgers". So I initially thought it was a burger restaurant, like Burger Up. Not to say I don't like burgers but that's not what I was craving. Regardless, I made reservations and I will say my expectations were blown away. Located on the ground floor of the Embassy Suites in downtown Nashville, Hand Cut is actually "Hand Cut Chophouse", and the restaurant is fantastic. Hand Cut is very energetic with the live music, and I love the modern decor. It's very chic and the establishment exudes classy. The menu is equally impressive with a nice assortment of chops, burgers, pastas, and drinks. I opted for the ribeye, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. Although the menu isn't large, there is something for everyone. The grilled ribeye was cooked to perfection, with a nice char and dripping with the house-made garlic butter. Although I'm a huge steak person, the star of the show were the signature sides. The Citrus Grilled Asparagus was a unique twist I never thought to do (and I cook a lot of asparagus at home). The citrus added a nice tart to the not-overcooked, crunchy spears of asparagus. I enjoyed it so much, I started cooking with lemon juice on my asparagus at home. The Black Truffle Mash was smooth, creamy, with that unique truffle oil flavor. Couldn't have asked for better sides! I'm impressed with this establishment and will definitely return. I know Nashville has a lot of options for these days and I'm glad I stumbled across this one.

Yelp
Walked in and got seats at the bar. Had a great time trying their cocktails. The bartenders are obviously skilled and fun to chat with as well. The crowd was very mixed, couples, business people, hotel guests and of course some bachelorettes. They had a live band playing and actually kept it on a good volume so people could both enjoy the music and still talk (not that usual in Nashville downtown). Tried the beef tartar which was excellent, we will definitely be back!

Yelp
Staying in the hotel, so after a morning and early afternoon of exploration we came home, as it were, to check out the Chophouse. We were seated promptly by the hostess, and then ignored for all of 15 minutes, until I flagged down an employee, who as it turned out was on his first day in the job. Raul, sort of saved the day, as we were ready to walk out, when he saw me actively trying to engage any of the 7 plus staff in the restaurant. Not a great beginning to say the least. Once he stepped up we enjoyed the music being played by a local musician as well as the salt and vinegar fries on the happy hour menu that we ordered in spite of it being a Saturday. I would say our unhappiness at the wait spurred the manager to allow us the happy hour charges. We came back for dinner after a false fire alarm caused us to walk 26 flights to the street only to have it all be ok thank goodness. Our dinner was also highlighted by more great live music, and our earlier server Raul being our guy again. We wish the food could have even closely reached the level of care and music we enjoyed. My "Western Bacon" burger was ok, but a bit salty, lacking any real identity, and my salad, a bed of romaine with a huge helping of I'm not sure what slathered on top. The lovely K enjoyed her "Hand cut Classic" burger but found the onion rings lacking any flavour. On the whole I would rate the entire food offering very average at best. I get that Nashville is expensive, but two glasses of wine, two burgers, a side of onion rings and a boring salad shouldn't be an American hundo. The music was great, the service good, and the food average at best. We're here for a week and in spite of the great music and good service we will not be back with all the choices mere moments away.

Yelp
Their happy hour is a must try! $8 bites and drinks are definitely worth it. Beautiful spot, lots of fun details in an open space. We got the Tonica and Blackberry Mojito for drinks - stunning and delicious. We ordered 4 apps to share (pictured) among 4 of us and had some leftover. The portions are large - don't let the happy hour pricing confuse you. I liked the spinach and artichoke dip the most. The grilled bread sealed the deal for me. The fries were great. Our server, Will, was funny and excellent. It also seemed like a requirement for the waitstaff to be beautiful because they all are!

Yelp
We came here twice on our trip to Nashville as we were staying in the attached Hilton, and each time it hit the spot! We had the same server both times, and she was so nice and accommodating. She gave us advice on the airport and traffic surges as we were not familiar with the area. For shared apps, we got the ahi tuna stack. The tuna was fresh and didn't taste fishy, and the chunks were big which I liked. I didn't particularly like pistachios paired with the flavors of the stack, but when put aside, I really enjoyed this snack! The honey garlic wings were more honey & sweet tasting than garlic, but still cooked well & juicy. The zucchini fries & regular fries were pretty standard, I didn't particularly like the ranch at this restaurant. The California burger was delicious, perfectly cooked (medium) & juicy. The second time we went there was a live performer, which adds to the ambiance of this restaurant. It's surrounded by large windows, so during the day your dining experience has a bunch of natural light. From anywhere you are in the restaurant you're able to see the stage & live performer. Definitely would come here again next time we're in Nashville!

Yelp
This place was fabulous, great upscale food (note smaller portions), attentive service, fun decor and such a great location which easily accommodated a party of 5. We will be back!
