Handels Homemade Ice Cream

First time here and sooo delicious! The 4 scoop sampler is such a great deal. Every single scoop is so creamy and delicious. I am an ice cream connoisseur, and this may be my favorite place! The employee was so nice and helpful. I will definitely return here for Ice cream 🍦

I really enjoyed what Handel's Homemade Ice Cream brings to the. Canyon Crest area and that is some fluffy, delicious ice cream. While they are located next to Rite Aid, where they sell ice cream; as well as Ralph’s, where you can purchase ice cream, and a mom and pop shop that sells ice cream, the quality is just superior to the other ice cream offerings in this town center. What makes Handel’s different is also by their physical shop: it’s a walk-up shop like walking up to the ice cream truck! Because I’m new to Handel’s, I shared one of their 4-scoop samplers and got to taste 2 items I really liked: Coconut Pineapple and Brownie Dough. Oh the Blueberry Crumble is really good too! Overall, I’m happy to have a new ice cream shop in Riverside. The workers have been friendly and knowledgeable. And I like the convenience of a walk-up ice cream window!

Recommend the 4 scoop sampler You get 4 different scoops of ice cream flavors for $7.50. When the line is very long I don't wait, just come back another time 🤷‍♀️ no ice cream is worth waiting over an hr in line. ⚠️ Pick your flavors while waiting in line instead at the window to speed up the process for everyone is appreciated.

Upon arrival at this location on a Sunday evening, I encountered a surprisingly long queue, though the service was relatively efficient. The establishment offers a wide selection of ice cream at reasonable prices. However, the lack of seating is a drawback. Furthermore, a limitation of the service is that ice cream cones must contain only one flavor unless a sampler is purchased.

If a long line at 9 pm doesn't tell you something, I don't know what will! Handel's is clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. The line moved surprisingly fast, and we were soon indulging in some fantastic ice cream. We tried several flavors, and while all were good, the birthday cake was the star of the show. It was the perfect level of sweetness, with a rich, delicious flavor. My friend was equally impressed with the Rocky Road, and highly recommends it. Handel's is a must-try – just be prepared to wait in line, but trust me, it's worth it!

Delicious but very inconsistent in their scoops, employees would rather chat up with each other than worry about fast service. I ordered 2 of the 4 scoop samplers and the weight difference alone is unbelievable.

Delicious ice cream! Every flavor we tried was excellent. Large waffle bowl is awesome and made into a cute little tower. A bit of a wait with only one window open, but worth the wait. This is only a walk up window, there is no interior area for customers or seating.

Great ice cream, big portions, great service and lots of options. They have 6 ordering windows, and even thought there was a long line it went very quickly. I got the chocolate peanut butter brownie ice cream and it was delicious! The staff was very friendly and they were happy to be working there. They could use more seating, there are only a few benches around and some tables around the corner.

I love the ice cream here, my favorite is probably the chocolate chip or the pineapple coconut. Got helped by the manager Yesenia, super sweet and gave me some good recommendations for next time. All the employees have always been great though

There is something about ice cream and rain that go hand in hand. I have gone here a couple times since they opened and each visit has been positive. Staff are very pleasant to interact with. They do not rush you to pick and option even when the line is crazy long they make you feel like your their top priority. As a very indecisive person, I sooooo appreciate that. You can order ahead of time for pick up or get in the queue(like I normally do) and try some different flavors before making a choice of cone or pint to go. My medium cone generally runs me $8, but we usually will share and ask for a cup to make it more manageable.

I went to Handel when it first opened, absolutely amazing service! They make getting ice cream fun, fast and efficient. They're typically pretty packed (because it's SO good) but I always get through the line quickly! Especially since I go in a group, and most other people do as well, I think it says something when the staff is doing at least three cones or cups at a time and still gets it perfect! I vaguely enjoy trying flavors, but have settled on taro ice cream as my favorite here! It's absolutely delicious to eat as I walk around the plaza and shopping centers! Plus, ordering at the windows gives it such a cute aesthetic. Probably a good place for dog people, but I'm a cat person so. Would recommend:)

We ordered pick up to avoid the long wait worked perfectly! Redlands now has one of the Best ice creams available. We went from barely any ice cream places to 5 of the best. We will rotate to enjoy what each offers! Handels is a fantastic choice!

Sweet stop to drop by after dinner. This is a walk-up, order at the window kind of ice-creamery. There were so many options to choose from. I decided to go traditional and got the coffee chocolate chip. It was creamy and contained just the right amount of chips. Another person in my group got the banana cream pie which is definitely one of the flavors I want to try next time!

We came here on a cold night after dinner. Despite the cold temperature, there was still a short line to get ice cream. I got a small taro ice cream on a cone. My goodness, it was huge! My husband got a medium and it was comically large with 4 scopes on top of the cone he got. So needless to say, portion is generous, and the price was very reasonable. We were amazed at the value. The taste of my taro ice cream was probably one of the best that I've tasted. It was not too sweet, the texture was light and fluffy. I'm not a huge ice cream fan in the first place because I often find them too dense and too sweet. Not Handel's. It was so lovely. This is now a place that we're going to show everyone who visit us in Riverside!

I don't know why it took me so long to find this location! I'm thrilled it's near where I live. My go to order is a small salty caramel truffle in a waffle bowl *chefs kiss* The line moves relatively quickly so you don't need to wait long for your tasty treat. They also offer treats for your furry friend and offer vegan options. Highly recommend if you like freshly made ice cream.

Good ice cream spot in the canyon crest shopping center. I usually get their milkshake but on this occasion had their ice cream sandwich. The sandwich was pretty good, though I wish the Oreo/sandwich was more of a soft cookie rather than a hard Oreo. Service was quick and friendly! Just wish they had some outdoor seating closer to the store.

I've had Handel's in LB and Carlsbad and the Riverside location offers the same quality. I got the 4 scoop sampler with Blue Monster, Watermelon Ice, Monkey Business, and Taro. The Taro was rich, creamy, and definitely my favorite. The Handel Pop was small and overpriced, so I'll skip that next time.

They do not offer sugar free alternatives and the person I asked seemed to be annoyed by my question as if it was a stupid question.

Handel's ice cream is always 5 stars for me! This was a new location but it was right around the corner from where we had dinner so it was perfect. I introduced 2 coworkers to the experience and they loved it! They provided samples and were very patient while we decided on our final choices. NEVER skip an opportunity to have Handel's ice cream!!

Food: Ice cream's good - nice and cold, creamy, and they give you a decent portion. Definitely hits the spot if you're craving something sweet. There's a good variety, so you can find something you'll like. Service: The service was fast and friendly. You just walk up to the window, place your order, and they get it to you without much wait. They keep things moving, so even if there's a line, it doesn't take forever. Ambiance: No seating here, so it's more of a line-up, grab, and go kind of place. The inside has a bright, cozy look, and the area around it is cute. I went at night, and even though there was a line, it moved along at a good pace. Nice, easy spot to stop by if you're looking for a simple ice cream treat without a lot of fuss.

I am obsessed with the cookie monster ice cream! It has large chunks of oreos and cookie dough. Fun fact, I feel like they are not shy with their serving scoops which is amazing. This is only the small size of the ice cream. They add just a little bit more if you order a waffle cone instead of a dish or birthday cake cone . The customer service is always nice. The surrounding area is perfect as there are benches and trees all over the plaza to enjoy the dessert. Lines are not as long as they used to be when they first opened, but when it does get busy they are still quick with their service!

A great small ice cream shop in the Canyon Crest shopping center the employees are kind and helpful and REALLY PATIENT. The ice-cream is good and they have a plethora of flavors you're sure to find something you like! And the prices are reasonable . 9/10 overall.

Amazing flavors! Try the samples. You get 4 scoops and it can fill a family! They were so helpful when my boys had questions on their flavors they wanted to get! It's outside and not a lot of seating but we didn't have a problem for our group. We will be back

OMG so good. There is so many different favors to choose from which makes me always come back. I come here all the time with my friends to try a new flavor or a new type of sundae. You can never go wrong here. The workers also always give us the best recommendations so I would check it out next time on your way out of Ralph's or something. It's like a little window area near by.

There is always a line!!! But it goes by fast and the ice cream never disappoints! They have plenty of flavors to choose from there's something for everyone.

Visited on the grand opening to try and get the coveted annual pass for the first 100 people. When I arrived 3 hours before opening the line was wrapped around the building with these brave souls enduring the night on the sidewalk. Tents, sleeping bags, camping chairs and pjs. It reminded me of the old black Friday shopping traditions. I counted the attendees and I would not make the cut. I returned another day and walked right up to order. Several walk up windows and one designated for food delivery services. Though they could use a few etiquette adjustments the service was prompt and the ice cream was tasty. So many flavors to choose from it may take a few visits to know which are the favorites. Definitely going for the sample pack next time. I wanna try all the flavors. The varieties drew me in. On this visit tried the peanut butter parfait. Thin slices of peanut butter sheets melt in your mouth giving that creamy texture against the cool brisk ice cream. Though the texture of the ice cream was a bit icy rather than creamy, it was still yum. I would give it another try. Located at the Canyon Crest Plaza right next to Rite Aid on the south side entrance.

So many choices and the ice cream was scrumptious. I would've liked to enjoy two different scoops for the small order since it is a lot of ice cream for one person but that's how they do it there.

All of their fresh, house made, ice creams have a quality and flavor above and beyond any others. You can taste the difference! I was a little disappointed that this new location is walk up windows only. Luckily for us, it's not too far from home and, if you walk around, this plaza does have more benches and tables in other areas too. When we walked up, there was only one window was open and only a few people in front of us. Even on a Tuesday afternoon tho, the line grew quickly. They were on top of it, and promptly opened up more windows to get the crown moving. There were a lot of employees doing their best to help everyone out, and all of them were really friendly too. As a lover of Handles ice cream already, I grabbed a 4 pack of some flavors I'd yet to try, a couple of waffle cones for the kids (which, fyi if you get any of the dipped waffle cones, they are naturally large!), and we were on our way. As always, we loved ALL of them! This round we went with: Banana Cream Pie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Horchata, Graham Central Station, Coffee Chocolate Chip and Lemon Bar Can't wait to come back and try more!

Ok everyone is talking about this ice cream shop called Hansel's! Yup they are correct it's very good ice cream with some flavors that you would not see elsewhere! You don't go in its window service only! If you haven't tried this place you're missing out on some really good ice cream!

30 min wait on Sunday afternoon with a super long line, but that's should be expected for this place. I got there variety of for tray. It's perfect for trying different flavors, but I do recommend sharing. If you have a smaller appetite. It can be hard to finish. They do give you really good size scoops. It's not a restaurant that you can go and sit. I do wish they had a bench or something on the outside. Not so much for myself to sit, but the older people that we were standing in line could've used a chair. It's located in a beautiful parking with lots of parking. Definitely a nice place to have an ice cream and walk around.

This place is the best ice cream spot in canyon crest. Everything I have tried is really good. My new favorite thing I tried was the orange dream cream shake!

ice cream tasted great. the wait was a bit long and the window environment somewhat makes it feel a bit intimidating in terms of being able to try flavors before deciding what to get. i tried 2 flavors before choosing what scoops to get in my 4 scoop sampler (i shared with my bf so i chose 2, he chose 2). our friend got the cup and it was really loaded up. the sampler has brownie batter, banana, and mint. the cup has brownie batter and graham central station

Never had a bad experience here. I definitely recommend ordering ahead and picking up, as the lines can get long. Overall great location!

How the heck did y'all put chocolate chips in the cotton candy icecream?? Service is quick but like they seriously screwed up the recipe and kept on riding I guess?? This is a food allergy nightmare

I bookmarked the one in Rancho, but never made it to that location. i was happy to see one open up in Riverside. The first time I discovered it, the line was wrapped around the building, so I didn't try it that day. Tried another day and walked right up to the window. The ice cream is delicious and creamy, but I will say, for the price, the portions are small. Very much like a child size scoop, in comparison to a regular size scoop. But I guess it's not too big of an issue for me, I mean.....I came back! So I must like something. I think the walkup window is a good concept, cause who wants to be cleaning up spilled/melted ice cream messes all day, that they didn't create.

Love the ice cream here! It's pretty gosh darn yummy. So happy to learn they opened one up right by me! I forgot how good the mint and chip ice cream is!

I got a medium dish with chocolate chip and mint chocolate chip. There was nothing special that stood out to me. The serving size was small. My daughter received the small cone and even hers was bigger than my medium. The service was good and the line moved fairly quick (came here on a Thursday afternoon). I gave 4 stars because my family actually did enjoy the unique flavors they offered which was strawberry cheesecake chunk, chocolate pecan, and chocolate brownie peanut butter. I'll try another flavor next time.

After seeing all the posts and signs around we were finally able to stop by and try this place out. As ice cream lovers, we were very impressed with the quality of the ice cream. It's not super icy like other places and it is really creamy (our favorite). The line was a little long and was about 15 minutes before we reached the window to order, but with such high promotion that was pretty much expected (they have been pretty busy since they opened). As for actually getting our ice cream, they were pretty quick and got the ice cream out to us in a timely manner. The service windows were also all in use and the employees did a great job at making it efficient! We are definitely coming back here! And I DEFINITELY recommend!!!!

We waited about 30 min before we go to the window + our order (yes I timed it) Overall the ice cream was really good. I got the sampler & unfortunately the employee didn't get all the flavors (they gave me double) which is ok. I really wanted to try the chocolate pecan but next time. 1. The Snix is delicious 4/5 2. The pistachio was my absolute favorite and I will get that alone 5/5 3. The flavor I was looking forward to was the Chocolate chip & it was ok. 3/5 & I don't think I'd get that one again The employees were really nice and were super quick.

Handel's Homemade Ice Cream has quickly become one of our family's favorite summer stops! Rain or shine' the parlor offers a wide variety of delicious flavors, and even offers taste samples to try new flavors! Each time my family and I have visited the stand' staff has been friendly, courteous, and helpful! Prices are comparable or slightly lower than other familiar ice cream shops (e.g) Cold Stone, Afters etc.; however, the serving portions and quality are certainly worth every penny! Amongst my favorite flavors are Butter Pecan & Black Cherry. While our only disappointment is that the ice cream stand only has a walk up window (*Canyon Crest Location) and does not have seating for guests to enjoy their ice cream, our family still loves the convenience of the stand being minutes from home, centrally located in the Canyon Crest Center and we thoroughly enjoy the nostalgic experience of getting hand-scooped cones to indulge in at a nearby park! Be sure to stop by, jump in line and Enjoy!

Just tried this location and the hot fudge brownie sundae was very good. Got it with Pistachio and Butter Pecan. I was told it comes with 3.5 scoops of ice cream, which is odd, why not 4 whole scoops? How do they even do a half scoop? Also, I could only choose 2 flavors, which is also odd, because with 3.5 scoops, they can do 4 different flavors (or at least 3). Anyway, the ice cream was very good with lots of nuts in it. The brownie was fresh, warm, soft and chewy and the hot fudge was perfect, just wish they put more of it on my sundae. No indoor seating and very few outdoors seats. You will need to walk to another section of the shopping center to find tables/benches. Lots of free parking though. Good service.

Came to try Handel's homemade ice cream for the first time. They have a variety of flavors to offer, all say they are handmade fresh daily. They carry various options, from waffle cones, dipped cones, waffle bowls, and containers to eat from. The amount of flavors they have are endless, you cannot just pick one. They do offer the sampler so that you can get various to try. The service was excellent, the girl at the window was very helpful and polite. Your ice cream is ready within minutes. It tends to get a bit loud since the place is almost always packed because there is no indoor seating available and they play outside music while you stand in line. The ice cream was a bit too soft for my liking, if you don't eat it fast it'll melt on a hot day. Other than that, their ice cream is really good

The Ice cream was extremely tasty and wonderful! The service was also extremely excellent as my server Krishna brought it out to me quickly and kept a nice conversation going with me!! Would def recommend visiting Handel's.
