We all know the stadium, mall and airport location of many restaurants fail to meet the same expectations of the original or standard location. This rings true for H&F at the battery, but is still a great food option when visiting the battery and/or attending a braves game.
When Suntrust Park first opened, the H&F location was awardly above the Chop Grill, now it has been moved to a location right by the main gate, with a serving window for those outside the stadium and a large open area for those inside. The setup is more like a normal concession vendor, with a long row of registers. The menu only contains a few items, original burger, Hops fried chicken sandwich, veggie burger and H&F hot dog. There are not options to add lettuce, tomato, etc. Menu also contains milkshakes, soda and a few beer options. We ordered 2 originals, which is definitely the only way to go IMO.
The entire process is messy and confusing. We found an empty register, placed our orders and were given the drinks. After which, we were told to wait on the side for our orders to come out, but were not provided a receipt. There were a few people hanging out in the area we were directed, all seemingly waiting for burgers, but there was also an employee asking what we had ordered (did not ask for a receipt) and he handed us 2 burgers and fries after a few minutes. Not very intuitive, but the wait was short so it was fine.
This location does NOT have the house made ketchup, which is a bummer, normal ketchup just doesn't cut it for an H&F burger. There is just a standard concession stand outside with diced onion, mustard, ketchup and napkins.
All this aside, what really matters is the food. The fries were not as crispy, but still tasty. The burger was still the same excellent flavors, but overcooked. The original H&F location served only 25 burgers at a time, the location at PCM is sit-down. This location is massive volume. The same quality is pretty impossible to carry over, but it's a decent effort. There are a ton of bad reviews, but I think by improving the ordering process, giving you an option for the house made ketchup and a little bit better quality control, it would improve massively. At $15 for 1 burger and fries, it is expensive, but still beats the standard concession options.
