Long lasting place. Delicious food. But heating pipes from the ceiling were sounding like bursting. We told them to turn it off completely. Highly recommend this place.

Really great service. Cozy big space. Amazing miso soup and super fresh spicy tuna rolls. The prawn dish was okay but loved the ramen. Spider roll was really good too but more of a lettuce wrap than a sushi roll. Very affordable as well!

super cute bartender offered to sweeten our drinks more!! very attentive service, and he does some hefty small talk☺️☺️ chatted up so well our bartender also offered us cookies!!! which were delicious😋 will definitely be coming back

I went to Hane for the first time and sat at the sushi counter. The sushi was excellent and very reasonably priced. I'll be back!

Affordable and very quick service. They have a lot of special rolls, which are great. Also had some between 5-8$ that were simpler. Plenty of seating inside and out. Very spacious.

Good place for a casual lunch. I came in with my 5 years old. We ordered two lunch menus and a kid's bear dessert. We enjoyed it .

We celebrated an anniversary here, and the restaurant exceeded all our expectations. The interior is stylish, the music is unobtrusive. Each dish is a work of art, the serving is gorgeous, and the taste is unforgettable. The staff did their best to make our evening special, even bringing a small compliment from the establishment. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place for an important event.

This spot knows their strengths and plays to them well. The layout is effective and the cleanliness is remarkable. The amount of food reflects the price fairly. The employees combine inner and outer beauty in their work. Good meals, helpful staff, and a pleasant setting all contribute to the experience.

The ambiance is nice and the staff is friendly. We haven't been here since they remodeled and it is a step up from what it used to be, with a small bar area. The lunch specials are a great deal for the money. The lunch special included miso soup, salad, and two appetizers of your choice. The fish katsu was excellent with fresh crispy fried fish and a delicious dipping sauce. The chicken teriyaki was good, it was a very big portion and the cooked vegetables in teriyaki sauce were very good. We will definitely be back for another lunch special as there are so many options included as well as various appetizers. Two for one drinks are a bargain as well.

3.5 stars. This Asian fusion spot served up some surprises- pretty interesting American style sushi along with appetizers. Service is fairly fast and does the job. Not overly friendly but all good. We've tried the crispy rice appetizer (Tango Tuna) topped with spicy tuna and a fruity sauce- my feedback to the restaurant is that they instead serve the fruity sauce on the side because it really overpowers the rice/tuna. Check out the "Japan Pizza" too. For the sushi, we tried the Sesame Crust Tuna, Chilean Sea Bass Special Roll and the Truffle Soy Otoro Roll. I've never had such elaborate rolls, and they go all out- I liked these fusion rolls a lot more than I thought (and I'm usually a traditionalist snob!) Some reviews noted that the fish quality was poor, but I didn't get that sense at all. The tempura, however, was not great- stick with the sushi.

Come here all the time. Fabulous food. Fabulous service. Fabulous ambiance. Definitely recommend. And the 2for1drink special is always a nice plus

Hane Sushi keeping it Ok! . This local Sushi spot to the stuytown/pcv area is perfectly mediocre food wise. If you are looking for a beautiful ambience, large indoor seating for a large group, lots of outdoor seating for a large group, have a dog for outdoor seating, this is your spot as there aren't many restaurants in the area that offer this amount of space especially for Asian food. The service here is fast, some servers do have a bit of a bad attitude, food is fine if you eat at the restaurant. For the price the food quality is pretty low and not very fresh the Sushi can sometimes taste spoiled, especially when ordered for takeout. When ordering takeout the food has been consistently bad and they always forget items. I would only suggest eating at the restaurant. In short: - Do not order take out - food quality is low and not very fresh - Nice ambience inside - Large indoor space great for large groups but would only go here if you want Asian, otherwise I'd go across the street to rosemary's if you have a large group - Lots of outdoor seating - Good outdoor seating if you have a dog - Would not be my first choice

The food is very good and so is the service. Love the changes they have made to the place . I would surly recommend it

We went on a Saturday afternoon for a b-day lunch celebration for my aunt. Hane had a lunch special which I ordered the vegetable soba. It also comes w/ soup and salad. The rest of my family liked their entrees but esp. the dessert which was both the fried green tea and fried choco ice creams. The waitresses and server were kind. One was very helpful when I wanted to surprise the celebrant w/ their cute bear cake and candle!(see photos) This is a local favorite for Stuytown and Peter Cooper residents.

Dropped in for last minute sushi craving. Had my dog with us and the restaurant was super nice about setting out a small container of water on the patio by our table without us asking. Service was a little rushed - our server asked us no less than 5 times in 10 minutes if we were ready to order, but otherwise no complaints. Food came out quickly but still appropriately paced between our salad and the rolls. The menu is large and diverse with tons of options for rolls. Tried three different ones (spicy kani, monkey jump, crispy eel) and a seaweed salad split between two people which was a good amount of food. Rolls were large, unique, and really good. Would definitely return.

The food was tasty. The appetizers of shrimp gyoza and chicken skewers were good. The shrimp dumpling soup was ok. Nothing to order again. The cod was sweet from the sauce and a tad fishy. The branzino was plain but fresh and the side mushrooms was not a great accompaniment. I am not sure if I would look for these dishes again. I would try more appetizers and sushi next time.

Loved this place. I went here after a boat party and I must say it was definitely a great place. I have never been to a sushi restaurant where there was a photo for every roll offered. That made me try new items i probably would not have if there wasn't the photos. The service was great as well they were very attentive. I absolutely loved the sushi as well, it was made fresh and different rolls than what I am accustomed to.

Food is pretty mediocre but the outdoor seating is lovely in great weather and it's dog friendly. They're quick to refill waters but not to actually take your order or check you out and they don't check on you. If you want a local no frills sushi option, this is one. Although we have a lot better options for sushi and service

At one point, Hane was evolving into an Asian Fusion restaurant. It's too bad they took their eyes off their core business. Newer dishes are not as flavorful and lately their fish has not been as fresh as it was. The prices are out of whack with respect to the quality of the dishes being served. Especially when you factor in the slow service and mediocre featured cocktails. This restaurant was on a significant rise in this neighborhood, but it appears that the operators have dropped the ball. The new ambiance is nice, but it doesn't make up for the lower quality in food.

Poor quality, terrible service, loud, low quality food. I believe you have to have NO taste buds and an iron stomach to eat the poor quality fish and sushi from this place. I got so sick it was unbelievable!

What a disappointment. I ordered takeout and what I was given was old sushi that didn't stick to the roll that tasted refrigerated for days and withered lettuce on my so called salad. I will never eat there again, oh also an aftertaste in my mouth that is not pleasant.

Delicious food and awful customer service. Food was good with large portions. Especially the seafood udon. It was a warm, hearty and filling dish with various seafood and veggies. Gyoza dumplings were not bad, but honestly not worth the price. The waitress was quite rude. She placed dishes very roughly on the table. But the annoying part was that she kept asking if I was done with the dish and took it away immediately. The dishes were not even clean. I felt very unwelcomed, as if they wanted us out of the restaurant as soon as possible. The restaurant was not even busy with several empty seats.

The food is so solid. We have eaten here 50+ times. Always fresh and delicious...try the special rolls, all are creative and tasty. Service is friendly and super helpful. Owners are always there. Great neighborhood sushi and don't skip the katsu, the pork is fantastic!!!

I've been going here for years since I was a kid. There has been several remodels of the same restaurant, mind you that make me feel this restaurant is pretty lost in its identity. Nonetheless, the food is always solid but makes me run to the bathroom so that isn't really nice. Also, when ordering for delivery, they have times where they are presented as "closed" but they really are open which is odd to me and needs to get it handled properly.

The food is okay. They have an interesting menu with some "fusion" choices. The service is fine. The ambiance is a bit dark unless you sit at the window. What I did not notice until I was inside and seated is that there is a B rating. The rating is on the window to the right of the entrance but there is a large plant in front of the window so the rating is partially hidden. The tip is multiple choice. You are given a choice of three boxes to check off for the tip, which is on the total including the tax. There is no way that you enter a tip and add up the total., unless you write it in an empty space on the bill near your signature.

I come here often. Good reliable sushi and a good staff. But today, the music was particularly 'The Weeknd' heavy. Actually, that is all they were playing for the 2 hours I was there. And I enjoyed it. The remodel is gorge and they remain busy. Hane, keep it up. Your neighborhood appreciates you immensely.

Oh how I wanted to love you. This place is convenient and an easy hit when my parents want sushi, but someone forgot to season the sushi rice. 3 stars for service, convenience, and the buy one get one beer for lunch.

Excellent food, great menu.. recent renovations and great location... service was good until dropping of the check at the same time of the main course.. 10 minutes before closing time.. just ruined a good dinning experience.. no manager on sight.. poor judgment

I'm a word, skimpy. I came in for some eel and ordered a sushi roll. I could hardly see let alone taste the eel. Although, convenient, I will go elsewhere in the future.

First Time - Came in for the lunch specials and boy was I not disappointed! I went with the spider roll with tempura zucchini, and the pork Gyoza what an incredible meal deal for under $20. It also came with a salad and a miso soup. Presentation was outta sight too ! Combine that with the outdoor seating and the beautiful 72° temperatures and you have yourself one heck of a nice lunch experience well done special shout out to the staff who are extra attentive as well !

O.k. - Great. The food is good at Hane Sushi. But... The service leaves a LOT to be desired. My daughter and I decided to go - again (we've been many times) because it was a nice night, and we thought it'd be nice to sit outside, if we could get an outside table. We did. The hostess sat us at a two-top by the sidewalk. Perfect. Nice night, nice table... Well... that's where the niceness ended, at least for the moment... We waited. And we waited. And... we waited some more. Then - we waited some more... From our table, I looked into the restaurant to what the problem might be. Were they short-staffed? No. I saw waitresses standing around, one was doing something at the wait-station, maybe folding napkins or something. Others were casually walking about, looking at their tables & then going over to the wait-station to talk with the other one. Was it incredibly busy? No. We waited some more... Now I was starting to get extremely annoyed. O.k., let's say - angry. Why hasn't anyone at least even GREETED us - to just ask if we'd like a drink? Nothing. O.k. - so now I have to get up and ask the hostess if anyone might mind actually coming over to our table. 'Of course' was the obvious thing to say. Then I had to voice a bit of my annoyance. As I was doing that, one of the waitresses saw the commotion I imagine, and started coming over (finally) to our table. I voiced my annoyance to her as well. Another waitress came over, I guess because of the slight commotion I was causing, because I was raising my voice a bit at how long (20 minutes) it had been. As I was doing so, the 1st waitress started smiling and looking at the other waitress. I had to ask if she thought this was funny. 'No' she said. Well, after the rucuss, she finally decided to ask us if we'd like to order. I almost walked out, but decided to stay and enjoy the food, which, of course, was good. They really need to have a wait-staff meeting (I was a waiter and bartender for many years) to tell their waitresses to be more on the ball. To 'scan' their stations for any new customers, and to hop-to. Really...

Excellent Asian food. I eat there often. The service is polite but they need to slow it way down. They always bring the main courses while we're still eating appetizers. They don't offer plates even when we say we are sharing. We ask for serving spoonS and they bring one. They bring the check as soon as we finish chewing the main courses, usually with no offer to take a dessert order. The rush takes away from the dining experience.

I've walked by Hane for years but never had their food, so finally ordered lunch just to check them out. Ahahahahahaha, what a mistake! I ordered a chirashi lunch, which I often get from other sushi places. I should've been suspicious when their online menu didn't state the number of pieces of fish you get (many places state how many pieces come in a dish). Wow, I got 6 as in SIX small pieces! Two pieces of tuna, white fish, and salmon each. And some tobiko to fill the space of the container. No eggs, no octopus, no yellowtail, or anything else you would expect. This was no way a churashi or any decent lunch meal from a place that makes business selling sushi. I'm Japanese from Japan, but I'm also a New Yorker so I try to set reasonable expectations for local joints, but this left me completely flabbergasted. I don't eat much but this left me still hungry and feeling I was totally scammed. Also their miso soup (which isn't hard to make it decent) had this weird taste that doesn't come from typical miso. Oy. NEVER AGAIN.

Have only ordered for delivery so far. Will update after dining in. I placed an order for unagi Don buri around 9pm on Saturday. It arrived well within the estimated window, was hot, and delicious! It came with a miso soup which I drank promptly. The broiled eel was perfectly tender, deliciously sauced, and served on top of perfectly fluffy rice. I did not recognize the vegetable between the eel and rice, but I ate all of it. The Japanese pickles were a nice compliment to the broiled eel, and the cucumbers were refreshing afterwards. 10/10 will order again. Also plenty of sushi options for me to try later!

Perfect for groups and late nights. There's Usually no wait because the place has plenty of seating. Great service and lovely culinary presentation. My partner and I usually end up here since it's close to his place. Every time my partner and I come here we order the sushi deluxe sets and the presentation has always been beautiful. And most importantly tastes fresh. - the staff has always been friendly and attentive. We've never had any issues with service. - their happy hour is buy one get one free all day. I highly recommend this if you're getting drinks.

Was at Hane Shushi for the Nemophila after concert party. The place stayed open after normal hours to accommodate crazy concert-goers. Food was very good & the staff was very gracious & attentive above & beyond. Could not have been a better experience. Recommended & I will be returning.

Lousy in-person take out service, They add additional fees for holidays: meals were more expensive on Valentine's Day and Christmas Eve.

Was skeptical due to the average star rating but needed a quick lunch spot when my parents came into the city today. Amazing lunch specials and love the huge window seating which is phenomenal for people watching! Ginger salad dressing isn't a typical one but was still good. The Beef Negimaki was so delicious!! Spicy tuna roll was disappointing and had a weird flavor but everything else we ordered was awesome-- including the fried king crab triangle appetizer. Yum!

Me and my wife were just in town, it was getting late and decided to eat something near by and ended up eating here. We should have looked at the reviews and everything before. I was a sushi chef for about 10 years. The ambiance was great, service was good, but the food was a different story. Shishito peppers were kind of bland with a hit of lemon. We also had the otoro roll and some sashimi. Sashimi could be better but wasn't the worst I ever tasted. The otoro on the roll was the only thing I would of eaten. The roll just tasted off the second I took a bite. I tried to find out why. The rice was hard and bland. The tuna on the inside didn't seem the freshest, mango and avocado were half way ripe. Between the tuna inside and the rice. I had to soak it in ponzu and ginger just to get through it.

I'm sorry but the food here is just BAD. It's all bad. Rice is cold and hard and gummy. Even the miso soup is sour. Go figure. Fish is blah. I've tried coming here so many times and I thought I'd give it one more shot after they remodeled but it's just as gross as ever. And that goes for cooked and raw food. It's like gross enough that you worry about possibly getting sick while eating it. Just NO NO NO!! And it's not even cheap!! I'm giving this place two stars because the restaurant itself is beautiful since remodeling and the people are nice. But my oh my so I wish they'd put something else in that spot that has even semi decent food!

Extensive menu. Good food. Great atmosphere. Friendly neighborhood place, large enough that there's usually no waiting.

Good creative good. I sometimes buy just a broth soup like mushroom soup, brown rice and add maybe dumplings or chicken, as take out and have a simple low calorie meal at home

This place is at the corner of Stuytown so location was super convenient for us! It's a big restaurant with lots of outdoor dining. They use fake plants to decorate the space and it's very cute. The menu was a little confusing, but we ordered and were served pretty quickly. Didn't take a photo, but we had miso soup, salad, agedashi tofu and pumpkin tempura (last two are part of the Combination Maki Lunch). The tofu and tempera were fried only once, and both were pretty underwhelming in flavor and texture. The sauce was not as flavorful as others that I have had. The sashimi and sushi were average. It was akin to Safeway/grocery market sushi, but not frozen. Sashimi was alright as well. The lunch totaled to about $40, including tax and tip, for two, so I'm not really complaining. We were both really full, and the service was good. I would say come here if you really just want something cheap and easy, not if you're looking for good Japanese food necessarily. We waited 15 minutes to be served. Our waitress said she'd be back right water but didn't come back and we had to keep flag people down. The front desk when we arrived was really disorganized. Cleaning supplies were lying around and different people nervously asked us how many people several times. Our table was 'cleaned' before we sat down - which meant that it was covered in a wet film that made my clothes damp. Food was nicely presented but average. I guess people go for the 2 for one drinks. Would not recommend if you have any kind of standards for dining out.

They have seriously gone downhill following the renovation . Today my salmon arrived cold as did my friends. We called over the server who got the manager who took it back , but when it came back the salmon was hot and the vegetables were cold. We asked our server for a napkin and she showed us that there were two napkins under one set of utensils before she brought us a new napkin . I ended up getting nauseous and threw up my meal . The last time that we were there the sushi was at room temperature . DO not think that I am going back . For some reason I think that it might be under new management or ownership

Place was generous to stay open past normal business hours to accommodate those who attended the Nemophila concert. The place has a nice ambiance and I enjoyed my spicy salmon sushi & saké meal.

Unbeatable for the price point, convenience, and quality! Got three rolls for $26 which is great value for sushi & especially for the LES. Everything tasted fresh (no strange fishy taste or smell) I ordered takeout and my food was ready very quickly. The only thing I didn't like was that the shrimp tempura had a lot of batter on it. All in all, I got exactly what I wanted & definitely recommend this place!

Gave a second chance to this horrible place, and boy what a mistake. Terrible service, terrible food and horrible experience overall. Definitely last time.

This place was recommended to me and I'm glad I came here. Started off with the shumai and kani (I know, basic). The rolls are where we really had fun. They're very creative and blend together interesting flavors. Delicious sushi, fancy roll and blue crab are perfect. Everything is fresh, delicious and worth every penny. Everything from the food to the service was on point. If you want good sushi, great service and are looking for your new go-to spot, this is it!

This restaurant was closed about a year ago for design renovations. When it reopened the design and ambience are nice. However the menu and the quality of the food changed and not for the better. Prices are much higher, not a surprise, the raw sushi & sashimi are still fresh and appealing but I recommend staying away from and if the cooked food. The tempura was the thickly coated in a heavy panko, not light and airy like it used to be. The soft shell crab was tasteless abd over fried. The quality of the filet mignon was awful. Sadly, Hane was once a neighborhood favorite but no longer.

2 for 1 drinks is a great deal. Also, the fusion menu is limited but they will serve you things off the menu. We ordered various sashimi and pumpkin tempura (none of it on the menu) and it was delicious.

I think this place deserves more than 3.5 stars. Me and my friends came for dinner tonight. The rolls were delicious and beautiful and the drinks were 2 for 1. The patio was well heated but still open so I felt comfortable with their covid precautions. They also have bubbles that look cute. The service was a little slow, as other reviewers have mentioned, but it was also a Friday night and it wasn't slow enough for us to complain since we were enjoying each other's companyOverall had a great time here tonight and will probably be back.

I have been a good customer of Hane Sushi for about 6+ years. On December 14th, I called Hane Sushi to order delivery of dinner. I emphasized that I had a medical isue with my blood sugar & needed delivery as soon as possible, & was told it would take aa half hour. Over an hour later , no delivery had been made! (By the way, about a week prior to this, I had also had dinner delivered.) A s said, over an hour I didn't have any food! I called and asked to speak to the manager, X Huang, but he would not come to the phone! By this time I had been lied to multiple times, and was really getting the run-around. I started hearing that they had made a "mistake", blah, blah, blah..I told them to cancel the order and NOT to charge me, but they had the nerve tpo charge me even though I received nothing which, to me, is stealing.It is the 16th and no refund has been issued by Habe Sushi! These people are dishonest, and be warned...do NOT let them have your debit card # or they may well do the same thing to you!! If I don't received a refund by Monday-Tuesday , Dec 18th or 19th, I will take further measures against Hane Sushi.

I've eaten here many times over the years. And the quality of the food have declined. I got take out ... a combo lunch special (Maki-3 roll, 2 appertizers, soup + salad = $24. The tuna in the spicy tuna roll didn't look fresh; I ate it with the hope that I wouldn't get sick. The eel avocado rolls looked ok, but it's more difficult to check quality after it's cooked & sauced. It tasted fine. Very disappointed by the very small size of the shrimp gyoza + the pork gyoza. I tasted the fried dumpling wrap more than any meat (flavor). I was also disappointed with the old sliced ginger... It's not worth trading a beautiful renovation for fresh ingredients + authentic high quality food. The staff continues to be attentive and kind.

This was a nicely decorated restaurant with friendly staff, but the food was just not it. The rice on the sushi was so dry, we just ate the fish off of it and the other dishes were okay at best. The quality was just not there unfortunately.
