The Hottest New Bars in New York City, January 2025

"Vantage Point Hospitality. behind bars like Midnights, Vacations, and Dolly’s, has rolled out Hank’s Bar that’s going for a well-worn tavern feeling. Inside it’s wood paneling, vinyl booths and bar stools, retro lighting, and a straight-ahead menu of canned and draft beer, and $14 cocktails." - Eater Staff

NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"Hank's in Bushwick is a dog-friendly bar from the people behind Vacations and Dolly's. They're focusing on classic cocktails in a tavern-like space, with outdoor picnic tables and garage doors. Food truck tie-ups are expected, and the place is dog-friendly." - will hartman

Lovely new bar in Bushwick! Wonderful decor and very comfortable seating on leather couches. There is a food truck outside and a nice dining area outdoors. I ordered a margarita with spiced salt on the rim of the glass and that tasted amazing! The crowd at the bar was young and very nice to talk to. The icing on the cake was the presence of many cute puppies who accompanied their masters. They were friendly and well behaved and made themselves comfortable on the couches! Great vibes in this cozy, hip space that was spotless clean, including the restrooms with upscale fittings.

Very chic, beautiful inside bar/lounge and nice outdoor area. The decor is stunning. There is a food truck for food in the outdoor area. Bartenders were super skilled and efficient. Excellent aesthetic and vibe. Would love to have seen a mocktail menu because the cocktails were super creative. There are some caned n/a beverages on the menu. I did not try the food at the food truck. I ordered the “what she’s having” cocktail and really liked it. I saw lots of dogs so I assume it’s dog friendly. Will be going back!

Definitely the quichest bar in brooklyn. The atmosphere is chic and retro , i feel like i should be sitting next to Don Draper. The lighting makes everyone look sexy. The drinks are quiche. #1 date night spot.

Awesome bar place. The location is huge with plenty of place to hang around or sitting. Huge outdoor space and outdoor rooftop space. Has Photo Booth. And the drinks are affordable, except for the non alcoholic beverages😬

My new favorite spot in Brooklyn. Relaxing and fun atmosphere. And the food truck is great. Well priced for the size of the portions. Loved the banana pudding. My only suggestion is that the food truck should add some finger (bar) food choices to share. The potato wedges were great. We got multiple dipping sauces and enjoyed all of them.

Cute new spot in town, fits the local vibe very well and is visually appealing. Wood grain interior and spacious lounge seating offers a nice space for larger groups which can be rare around here. Cocktail menu is creative and the patio area/upstairs will be a good reason to return to check out when it’s warmer.

When I walked in the bartender was so clearly intoxicated. I ordered 2 cocktails and one beer for my group and he made 3 cocktails. No worries we’re all human- I offered to even buy the other cocktail he made by mistake. He then brought me the wrong beer 2 times following this and dropped my debit card in the cocktail he made me. He charged me for 4 cocktails and a beer and almost didn’t give me the cocktail he made by mistake. Later he was seen fighting another customer. Overall not the vibe.

I’ve been here a handful of times now. $20 burger plus they’re trying for a 20% tip on carryout… The container has a big hair on the outside and spewed sauce all over the bag/napkins. cmon get it together if you wana charge premiums. This reflects on Hanks

Yelp
With just 2 months under their belt, Hank's Bar is making a mark on the Brooklyn bar scene. The warm lighting and vintage decor contribute to the feeling that it's a place you've been to before and know you'll return. The bar is quite spacious, making it great for groups or dates. There's a food truck outside that you can order from and eat inside. With warmer weather, eating outside is an option. There's also a rooftop, which was closed during our time at Hank's. The menu boasts a variety of cocktails, most for a very reasonable $14. As a true millennial, I really enjoyed the Vroom Vroom, their espresso martini. It had delightful hints of chocolate throughout. I also enjoyed the Flux Capacitor. I couldn't resist ordering because 1) the name and 2) I'm a gin girlie. They also have a solid draft list, a wine selection, and a couple of frozen cocktails. Highlights of our Saturday evening, aside from the good drinks, were the DJ and chatting with our bartender for the night, Reyka (I hope I spelled it right!). The DJ was spinning disco and funk all night, with intermittent house music interludes. We were jamming in our corner of the bar, signing along and playing air drums. Reyka was super friendly and chatted with us about music and random stories all night. We'll definitely be back.
