A local couple runs this warm, eastside canteen where you can pair bulgogi, sundubu, and seafood pancakes with Korean-style Chinese classics like jjajangmyeon. Recent menus and hours confirm it’s active, community-minded, and value-driven.

Google
Another endorsement for Hanmi Korean Fusion. This is probably our new go to. We got the fried chicken in garlic sauce (added broccoli) the hot and sour soup, the beef noodle soup, and kimchi. Everything was wonderful!! They even serve complimentary green tea ice cream. The owner Carol is such a sweetheart - Carol if you see this we sat in your "office" and we are officially friends now! Go try Hanmi and you won't be disappointed.

It is definitely a great pleasure to be able to eat Korean-style Jajangmyeon and Jjamppong in New Mexico, but the taste was a bit disappointing. The noodles were not chewy, and the taste of the Jajang sauce could have been better if there were more onions. The fried rice did not have the flavor of rice. However, the staff was really friendly. I think I will stop by again if I come to Albuquerque.

Google
This is hands down the best Korean spot in Albuquerque! This place should be packed every second of the day—it’s that amazing. The staff is incredible, especially the regular workers who always go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food is simply outstanding. I highly recommend trying the fried garlic or chili oil chicken and the seafood pancakes. Every bite bursts with flavor and authenticity. Don't miss out on this amazing dining experience!

I visited this restaurant at 1115 am on a Saturday morning in a party of four. We all had the lunch specials, which included an entree, fried or steamed rice, egg roll, or chicken skewer at a reasonable price. I had the egg drop soup, chicken with vegetables, an egg roll, and an iced tea. The service was excellent, and the food was exceptional. Everyone in the party agreed that this was some of the best Chinese food available in Albuquerque. I am excited to visit again and try the Korean menu. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan to visit again soon.

Google
The vegetable lunch special was excellent, with a good-sized pile of fresh, well-prepared vegetables in a light seasoned sauce. The veggies were cooked but still fresh and crisp. The hot and sour soup and the egg roll were hot and flavorful. The service was friendly and quick, and we even met the friendly proprietor.

Google
very friendly staff, delicious food! We ordered egg drop soup, vegetable spring rolls, & fried chicken w/ chili oil with noodles. Plates are big enough to share & are very tasty! Will definitely be back.

Google
Met friends for lunch and it was easy to have a nice conversation; not a lot of background noise. My vegetarian meal was EXCELLENT! We met the owners, the husband is the chef and the wife handles general operations. Awesome couple! Our server Micky was sweet and very attentive. A great experience and we'll go back for sure.

Google
Ordered on Doordash and asked for them to modify the black bean noodles to be on top of fried rice(짜장볶음밥) and they did it and it was awesome! Been craving that since I returned back from Korea 13 years ago. Thank you so very much!

Yelp
We went yesterday for dinner by recommendation on Facebook and it was excellent. I had the cashew chicken and my boyfriend had the shrimp plate. I would come back again !

Yelp
Very clean and welcoming ambiance. Waitresses were friendly and welcoming. We ordered the kids chicken sweet and sour, beef bulgogi with steamed rice, Mongolian beef, crab angle and hot pot stickers. The kids chicken sweet & sour was a decent portion size. Little one was happy he had enough dipping sauce for all his chicken pieces. Beef bulgogi with steamed rice was pretty good, 3/5. It was a bit watery but the taste didn't really taste like a bulgogi. No spice but it was still good. Mongolian beef was 5/5. Definitely would reorder again next time. It was very flavorful and sweet. It reminded us of the Filipino meat Tocino. Fried rice - 2/5 - I ordered the Mongolian beef dish with fried rice and we did not like the taste of the fried rice. It was plain rice with a brown sauce and not sure if it was just soy sauce, but it tasted different and has an after taste that was a bit off for both myself and son. He didn't touch the rice after a few tries either. This is the first time I've ever ordered fried rice at Asian restaurant that did not come with any egg or veggies, so that was interesting. Would not order fried rice here if we return. Appetizers were good. Really liked the crab angle. Midway we ordered a jasmine tea and it was very disappointing that our water was only warm and not hot at all. On the positive side, my son got to try tea for the first time since that's how Luke warm the water was. Overall dishes are well priced and would consider returning to Hanmi to try their other dishes.

Yelp
This is a Korean-style Chinese restaurant, which I didn't expect to find here in ABQ. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food served here at Hanmi. It's a quaint restaurant near Uptown, and despite their size, they set a high standard for Korean food here in ABQ. We ordered jajangmyun, which was impressive. It tasted freshly-made, unlike the many synthetic-tasting versions I've had in countless other Korean restaurants. This is one of the best. Mongolian beef was juicy and moist. King pao chicken didn't disappoint either. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for good Asian food in ABQ. I would come back again.
google avatar

Lauri M.

Yelp
Everything was ok. Definitely not going back. Sweet/sour shrimp was weird. Fried rice was literally just rice w soy sauce. Veggies in sweet n sour were just thrown in completely raw.
google avatar

Yelp
Only done take out but every dish has been fantastic. Lots of flavor . I've definitely been recommending this place to my friends.

Yelp
Went in for lunch this past week, right at opening time. We were greeted immediately by a kind soul, who promptly brought us some jasmine tea that hit the spot on a cold day! I got the lunch special, Kung Pao Chicken. The server asked me if I wanted a chicken skewer, or a spring roll. I asked if the spring roll was house made, he said no, so I got the skewer. Does anyone else totally miss the spring rolls at Asian restaurants, hand made by the little grandma in the corner??? If anyone knows any place in the ABQ still doing it right, let me know! Anyway, I also got hot and sour soup. The soup, and the skewer, very good!! The Kung Pao, not very flavorful. Kind of disappointed, not finding any spice. I guess they saved all the flavor and spice for my hubby's dish...highly recommend the Korean style crispy chicken with garlic sauce!!! That was delicious bite after bite, with good heat from red chili peppers, scallion and garlic!! Next time, we will stick to the Korean dishes as they will probably pack more punch!!

Yelp
I'm thankful that Hanmi is a short walk from my home!! Their lunch specials are AMAZING....many options; huge portions; tasty hot and sour soup; friendly, efficient servers; and a relaxed, mellow vibe....Hanmi is a great place to get a good meal and to relax with friends. Thanks for sharing your lovingly prepared food in my 'hood, Hanmi!!

Yelp
Korean-Chinese-Asian Fusion, sounds interesting and worth a try. So a trip to East Albuquerque is in order. Small place and busy - About 11 tables all but 2 occupied. Drink orders taken and delivered quickly. Menu had most of the fare you'd expect with a couple of surprises. One being the Braised Abalone, missing the abalone I used to collect many years ago this was an easy choice. A Mongolian Beef lunch plate rounded out our meal choices adding Pot Stickers as an appetizer. The Analone was excellent, chewy as expected but tender. The sauce & Bok Choi added to the flavor. The Mongolian beef was also tender, nicely spiced and loaded with onions. The House Pot Stickers were extremely flavorful and could stand on their own without the dipping sauce. The Thai Tea was creamy & rich. Our dinner was filling but we weren't overly full. A perfect amount. This was a great stop and meal. We look forward to a return trip. It may not look like much on the outside but...

Yelp
I ordered takeout from Hanmi a few weeks ago and would definitely recommend them. I was craving some sweet & sour chicken and I decided to check out Hanmi as they are super close to my house and so I called in my order. They were super fast and the portions are large. It was a little more expensive than I would have expected but everything is. It was also a large portion and served multiple people. I think my only thing is going back I would try a different dish. Particularly would like to try some of the Korean dishes instead of the sweet & sour chicken. Service was friendly and fast, parking easy.

Yelp
Definitely try this place! I've ordered from here a handful of times and they always leave me satisfied. Yesterday I ordered my favorite Fried Chicken with chili sauce (which tastes like a cross between General Tso and Sweet and Sour chicken in that it's sweet, spicy, and has a little sour tang) and tried something new, the Mongolian Beef, which is now tied for favorite! The beef could use a little less onion, sure, but the flavor is on point! Salty, savory, and little sweet! I also got a side of rice for $1 and it's a whole large styrofoam full, probably like 4 cups! Anytime I want to treat myself, I'm ordering from Hanmi!

Yelp
What a blessing that Hanmi exists in this amazing Southwestern town. The cuisine is a rarity that can only be found in Korea, though not in China. Isn't that something? Of course, like all Asian restaurants, they must cater to the general public, and hence, a lot of items on their menu are dishes you'd see anywhere else where "Chinese" or "Asian" is served. I hear all of it is great: that's what the Yelpers say here. I'm speaking solely to the Korean-Chinese menu. Historically, this is neither Chinese nor Korean. Or, it's both. The cuisine has an ambiguous and unique history. You could probably look it up. There is also a flavor to it that is also supremely unique - distinguished and not easy to emulate. Chinese-Korean restaurants are ubiquitous in South Korea. Usually, it's affordable and, usually, it is immensely satisfying. (I mean just look at my pic. Doesn't that look scrumptious?) I've heard it be said that the most important part of a Chinese-Korean meal is ... the kimchi that comes with it. At Hanmi I was served the sole dish I ordered, which was fine. It was good. It was not the real thing, and probably won't ever be, because that's not their point. (I've had their other Chinese-Korean dishes in the past.) Within the contiguous U.S., you'll need to go to NYC, LA, Houston, Chicago or maybe even Atlanta to get the genuine article. I'm not complaining. ABQ is truly amazing, with an enchanting blend of roots and flavors that rivals any other bigger towns, but it's not a place where you'll be getting a "real" bowl of jajangmyeon or jampong. But who cares about "real," as long you're having fun. That's what really counts.

Yelp
Great food and staff with very generous portions. Try the champon noodles if you want an amazing spicy seafood ramen style meal...great! Really great!!

Yelp
**** Nice meal, fair prices, quality ingredients with steady, and pleasant service :) The spicy chicken was very good ... along with the Jap Chae Korean food is something our family has a lot of experience with... we've traveled to Korea several times...and many family members are Korean adoptees who grew up in the US ... and have considerable time in Korea. Restaurant: I wish they were busier (they deserve to be busy) ...space was clean and inviting. We'll come back often, since it was an enjoyable meal, and they're located only 10 minutes from our home in High Desert. Photos next time ...

Yelp
Great family run business. Service is friendly, helpful, and informative. The food, Korean-Chinese, is made to order, fresh, and full-flavored. The Korean specialties are what keep us coming back. Delicious!

Yelp
First off, the service was amazing! The servers were all insanely attentive. I got the eight treasure seafood combo ($23.99) and it was a lot of food! Definitely filled me up and I was good for the rest of the day. It was all delicious and they did not skimp on the meat. Very interesting menu that combines purely Korean, purely Chinese, and Chinese-Korean fusion plates so there are a lot of options to try. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
DoorDash order. Best was seaweed salad - crispy, bright green, well seasoned. But I wonder, is that because it is pre-made? It was a small portion, very little for $5 bucks. Pot stickers, possibly homemade? Substantial, yummy, seemed freshly made. Vegetable eggroll was quite small, half the length one would expect, but well fried with flaky skin, fresh veggie filling. Then things go downhill. Mongolian beef was missing that classic lacquered finish. Very heavy on the onions, light on the meat. Meat was tender, but seemed steamed, not stir fried. Seafood pancake tasty flavor but a weird bready texture that was an unpleasant surprise. Soybean paste noodle was a major disappointment - gluey, bland, a bummer to eat. Even presentation was odd, plain stuck together noodles, bean sauce in separate container Why would't it be tossed? The fried rice was a joke - rice and only rice, no fried egg, no minced veggies. Literally plain rice with soy sauce and oil, so unpleasant to eat, and weirdly undercooked too. Egg drop soup and kimchee missing entirely. How does a Korean fusion restaurant forget the kimchee?!! The whole experience was quite disappointing.

Yelp
Had a craving for Asian food. Went to my old standby Yelp and found d Hanoi. Once again yelpers, you do not disappoint! Very extensive menu. The waitress was very helpful in describe Korean dishes. We ordered the Korean style calamari. Delish! Calamari combined with vegetables and breaded and fried. I ate almost all of it before I remembered to take a picture. We then shared sesame chicken and fried rice Sesame chicken nicely done. Full of flavor and not overly sweet. Loved the fried rice, just egg and soy and rice Nicy done Hanoi I'll be back!

Mary Alice B.

Yelp
Hanmi is a great place to eat, the food was delicious, the restaurant was nice and clean. I couldn't believe how clean the menus were. Great first impression for me. The server was very professional and responsive to giving us recommendations. It just became my favorite restaurant in northeast Albuquerque.
google avatar

Janelle R.

Yelp
I was looking for a good spot near my house and found this place on Yelp. I took the chance and read the reviews, looked at the menu and placed the order. I went to pick up the order and the place was super clean and the food smelled great. I was greeted right away and my order was ready to go. The lady was super nice and knew it was my first time and said if I didn't like what I ordered that she can make me whatever I want. I ordered the cashew chicken and ChapChae and both were delicious. The cashew chicken had a ton of veggies, cashews and came with a side of rice (I chose fried rice instead of steamed rice).I had never had chapchae and I wasn't sure what it was but it looked yummy in all the pictures posted by Yelpers. When I go back, I would like to try something different, but I would highly recommend both these items.

Yelp
Looking for awesome Korean food? I've got your new favorite place! Hanmi has excellent food, wonderful service and honestly- the decoration is pretty cool too (it is a fusion restaurant- half Korean, half Chinese). As someone who has lived in South Korea before- this place is the real deal. 100% must try list: house pot stickers, bulgogi, japchae, spicy chicken. Also awesome is the hot and sour soup, and the bok choy with garlic.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
This is the best Asian fusion restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico! If you have a hungry family, please bring them there to Hanmi restaurant.

Larry W.

Yelp
The best Korea/Chinese fusion restaurant in town, highly recommended. I would come whenever I can.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
4 stars for NM standards and 2 star for CA standards. The black bean noodles (soybean paste noodles on menu) tasted pretty homemade and the noodles themselves were different shapes so we wondered if the noodles were homemade too! Pretty good. Wished there was a bit more pieces of pork. The seafood pancake was a bit soggy on the bottom and fell apart when I tried to dip it in the sauce. Taste-wise it was pretty good but the ingredients could have been of higher quality (think larger pieces of shrimp, squid, and clams), instead there were tiny shrimps and imitation crab. I don't think there are many options for Korean food here, so it's not a bad choice at all if you are craving Korean food!
google avatar

Sook L.

Yelp
Not bad for NM standards but not very good for CA standards. The jajjangmyeon or black bean noodle (not sure why they call it soybean paste noodle on the menu) is good enough in terms of flavor. Seafood pancake was $15.95 + tax but was not worth the price. They only used imitation crabs and chopped shrimp as the seafood which is very cheap. There were zucchini, carrot and green onion too. It was crispy-ish on the top but a little soggy at the bottom. Flavor is good enough. They also didn't serve us kimchi which is weird.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
Oh my! What a great find! We are always looking for new and interesting places to experience Chinese food. I loved this spot and will definitely go back. Our server could not have been friendlier and responsive and the food was great!
google avatar

Damini P.

Yelp
The food wasn't good at all, not entirely sure why there are so many great reviews and why it is highly rated. The service was great, but the food did not taste good- low quality food. Ambiance is ok, seems hole in the wall so it's fine. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, especially if you're like me and love Asian food
google avatar

Heidi A.

Yelp
We ordered take out. General Tso's Chicken and seafood pancake. When I was looking at the menu, I was a little hesitant because the price was a little higher than I expected. But the portion was pretty big and they were very good! We plan to dine in sometime!
google avatar

Yelp
I was traveling to Albuquerque for work, and was craving Jajangmyeon. I thought I wouldn't be able to satisfy my craving. I was shocked to find Hanmi. First off, this restaurant is in a sketchy plaza, but I was like let me not judge it from the outside. This is the only place that I've seen actual Korean people which is a good sign. Got takeout & drove back to my hotel. The Jajangmyeon was amazing! There was actual chunks of meat & plenty of veggies in the sauce.
google avatar

Gerrit K.

Yelp
I haven't tried the Chinese food yet, but thoroughly enjoyed the Korean food, especially the spicy squid which had an abundance of the delicious sauce but was perfect when eaten with the provided white rice. The kimchee was the perfect flavor and texture, refreshingly delicious. The seafood pancake was also great, nice mixture of texture with chewy and crunchy right where you expect it, with a delicious dipping sauce. The Sundubu Jjigae (spicy tofu soup) was delicious. The staff was friendly and the food didn't take long to come out. We cleaned our plates and will be back to enjoy more food from here.
google avatar

Hope B.

Yelp
Excellent customer service! I misread the hours and came in about 20 minutes before closing. The staff were very kind. When I realized they were closing I offered to take my food to go, but they reassured me they still had some cleaning to do so I didn't have to hurry. The beef bulgogi and tofu with veggies were both great. Good size portions for the price.

Yelp
After getting a coupon in the ad mailer, we decided to try this. The coupon was for 15% off a take-out order. I'm so glad we went. We opted for the Korean menu, but I will go back and try the Chinese food. We got bulgogi, Korean beef rib, chapchae, and garlic eggplant. The meat for ribs and bulgogi was very tender and marinated well. The portions were generous. The eggplant had a fantastic garlic sauce with big chunks of eggplant. The chapchae was full of flavor with that wonderful hint of sweetness, and that goes for the bulgogi as well. We called the order in since we had the coupon, but you can order online at www.selflane.com. When I called, the order was to be ready in 15-20 mins. That was fast! I'm glad we lived in the neighborhood. Take out and curbside service is provided during this NM COVID-19 restrictions. I did notice booths and table/chairs space when indoor dining can begin again. The inside of the restaurant looked very clean, and the two ladies that helped me were very nice. This is a brand new restaurant, and I think it provides a nice departure into Korean food on this side of town. I do recommend them! Our dinner was delicious!

Yelp
This is a review for a carry out order on 12 Dec 2020. My wife and I decided to go visit our families living in the NE heights, and when we were headed home, I had a craving for Chinese food. We looked on Yelp! for nearby places, and this place was on the top of the list. Didn't hurt that my folks live less than a mile away. We called and placed an order before 3pm, and they were quite happy to take our order. Not sure if they actually close at 3pm, as per Yelp!, but nonetheless, they took our order (Sweet and sour chicken entrée with fried rice and Mongolian beef entrée with steamed rice). They said it would take 15 mins. Again, less than a mile away, so it was just fine. We arrived and picked up our food. They even accepted an expired coupon that my mom had from one of those mail coupon packs. We paid and thanked them, and headed home. The food were in styrofoam containers and kept somewhat warm during our trip back (we also stopped at Pinon Coffee for their seasonal latte - another review). By the time we arrived home, the food was luke warm, but we decided to just go ahead and microwave them to a nice hot temp. My Mongolian beef dish was very good. The thin slices of beef were tender and the onions and veggies were nice. My wife's sweet and sour chicken dish was good, but she didn't really like the fried rice. It had a strange aftertaste to it, but it wasn't bad. The sweet and sour sauce was in a separate container which was nice, since it didn't make the chicken pieces mushy. We ended our late lunch with the included fortune cookies. Overall, the food was delicious. We didn't order the lunch size portions, so we had some leftovers for dinner, too. The price was good and the quantity and quality of the food was excellent. The NE heights have another nice Chinese/Korean place to choose from. This westsider is a bit jelly.

Yelp
Exccellent! Our family of four came here on a recomendation from a friend of a friend. We like to eat family style but one person was gluten free, the cook/owner was able to make 4 of the 5 choices gluten free for us! (Battered foods not gluten free which was fine by me) Everything was 5 stars! Very fresh with original and light flavorful sauces. Staff was warm, friendly, accomedating and welcoming. My new favorite restaurant. Also, exceptionally clean!

Yelp
I had been wanting to visit Hanmi for a while now, I've seen several posts on Facebook from others saying to check them out. I was alone, and craving some jangjangman so I figured I'd give it a go. The place is small, pretty quite, and the staff was friendly. The food was delicious, portions are enough to share. Jangjangman was just as I had hoped it tasted. Noodles still had some chew, but held on onto the sauce, the chicken could've had a bit more crunch but the sauce was great. Not too spicy but not to sweet. I think I'll go extra spicy next time. The kimchi was fresh and crunchy, had some kick and the radish helped cleanse the palette between bites. Definitely a must try if you're looking for some Korean Chinese fusion food. Will be back with family!

Sara P.

Yelp
Came here and was disappointed. There was no banchan, I ordered soft tofu stew which did not have kimchi but just regular cabbage, no egg. The broth was just bone broth with some gochujang. It was not served in the stone pot but a regular bowl. I asked for pork and got chicken on both dishes. Probably could get better soft tofu stew at Trader Joe's, The other entree japchae had an odd odor. Chicken instead of pork, no stir fried vegetables. Frozen Asian food at Costco is superior to what was made here:

Yelp
This is probably the best Chinese/Korean restaurant in New Mexico. Black bean noodles are very hard to find outside of CA/CO/TX. NOT only does this place make them, this dish is GOOD. It's the perfect comfort food!! I recommend this dish with Garlic Spicy Chicken. Seriously just try it :)

Yelp
I have felt at a loss since Fu Yuang closed. I really wanted my Korean food and theirs to me was about the best I have ever had. I was thrilled when Hanmi opened and tried their Bulgogi. It is different from Fu Yuang, theirs used to be beef and Hanmi's is pork. However it is still really good. I will be back and I cant wait to try some of their other dish's.

Yelp
Amazing food great service Mongolian beef was the best thing ever. Even had to tell the cook and I never do that.

Yelp
Omg food was so fresh! Absolutely delicious! Passing through town and was pleasantly surprised how good the food is.. if we lived locally it would be our go place

Yelp
Excellent, fresh Chinese food that we ordered to go. We had the cashew chicken, potstickers, garlic bok choy, and a children's lo mein. They employees were also very friendly. We will be ordering again!
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Food was great!! we had the house lo mein, which was outstanding and the cashew chicken, which was also very good. The service was excellent. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Katie S.

Yelp
My husband and I love Hanmi! Not only is it close to home, but it is fantastic every time! We have dined in on numerous occasions and ordered out once, experiencing the same great service and quality every time. My favorite dish is the Korean fried chicken with garlic and my husband's varies, but he loves the japchae and the kung pao chicken. Very large portions always leave you bursting at the seams!
google avatar

Catherine L.

Yelp
Ordered take out last night and everything we had was delicious! The House Potstickers were well seasoned with gingery goodness. That dipping sauce was perfect! Next we ordered 4 entrees: Shrimp with veggies, cooked to perfection, mild yet flavorful. Bulgogi pork (not sure why it's not beef), but it was tender, with that signature salty, sweet balance. Mongolian beef was perfect, with a hint of chiles, and the best was the japchae - clear noodles with veggies and meat. Tasted almost as good as Mom's. They gave us a sample of the kimchi and it was fantastic! Definitely ordering it as a side dish next time. This was our first time here and we will definitely be regulars!

Yelp
Thank you for coming into our lives Hanmi. We were having a rough day; we were being a super grumpy family (maybe it was mostly me), and then you came into our lives and just WOWed us, by making it so much tastier. I literally feel countries can make lasting peace over a meal at Hanmi's. We ordered the spicy chicken, which let me tell you, as a Korean-American, my taste buds know good Korean spicy chicken; I haven't had it this good since LA.... possibly dare I say it? South Korea. Hanmi may be rivaling K-town right now, in our very own ABQ. The fried rice I ordered looked a little simple, sans the peas/carrots I'm used to, but it somehow was perfect in its simplicity of just eggs and soy sauce, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. My wife ordered the vegetarian Soon-Dubu, which was perfect for her, and they did not skimp on the veggies, which my wife loved. And my 2 year old kiddo had there JJajangmyun which was straight up reminded my wife and I of being Korea, that's how spot on they got it. A quiet five minutes later, and sauce all across my kid's face/chair/table/back of his ear O.o attested to his love of this place. Thanks again Hanmi, for coming into our lives, and we hope you're here to stay.

This place for Korean food is one of my top favorites in Albuquerque. Being korean myself I can honestly say the price is definitely worth it! The food is great had no complaints on any of the korean dishes and I have tried all of them! Service is always great!
