Where To Go For Drinks And A Light Bite - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Hannyatou is a tiny sake bar in Fremont where you can learn about rice wine from a giant binder. The best part about this place, though, is the menu of bar snacks that has stuff like little egg salad sandwiches topped with roe, braised mushrooms with chickpeas, and onigiri rice balls topped with salmon and a jalapeño-cheddar-bagel miso sauce. If you’re tired of just doing beer and wings, change things up here." - aimee rizzo

The 25 Best Happy Hours In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"The Deal: $10 Beer and Shot, $12 Sparkling Yuzu Sake Cocktails, $12 Espresso Martinis, $12 Sparkling Plum Cocktails, $12 Glasses Of Sake, $22 Sake Flights, Discounted Snacks Hannyatou is the sister bar to Kamonegi, and often our preferred spot to kill time before a soba-eating reservation. But we wouldn't mind spending an entire evening at this Japanese sake spot in Fremont, snacking on tempura flake-topped hot dogs and Top Ramen chips." - aimee rizzo, gabe guarente

Where to Find the Best Happy Hours in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"Kamonegi gets all the press because owner Mutsuko Soma makes soba noodles by hand, but the next-door bar Hannyatou is more fun. It’s a cheerfully cramped little space where sake shots are encouraged (if not quite mandatory) and the happy hour food menu is whimsical. You’ve got a Japanese-style snack mix next to escargot next to sake-marinated cheddar cheese. (It’s great if you are marinating in sake yourself.) If you want something substantial, the hot dog with curried cabbage is big and filling." - Harry Cheadle

The Best Restaurants & Bars In Fremont

"This tiny sake bar in Fremont serves excellent drinking snacks—we wouldn't expect less from the same team behind Kamonegi next door. Hannyatou features a diverse and wonderful lineup of rice wine flights, as well as actual binders full of information if you want to brush up on your sake knowledge. We can’t say enough about the bar food, though, like katsu sandwiches or Scotch quail eggs with spicy shrimp aioli. Stop in before or after dinner at Kamonegi, but don’t be surprised if you fill up on Muddy Buddies-style Chex cereal tossed in white chocolate, tahini, and matcha. " - aimee rizzo

The Most Fun Seattle Bars

"This tiny sake bar in Fremont serves excellent drinking snacks—we wouldn't expect less from the same team behind Kamonegi next door. Hannyatou features a diverse and wonderful lineup of rice wine flights, as well as extremely knowledgeable servers who can help you brush up on your sake smarts. We can’t say enough about the bar food, though, like tangy kasu-marinated sharp cheddar or homemade smoked pepperoni sticks with shrimp aioli. Stop in before or after dinner at Kamonegi, but don’t be surprised if you fill up on Muddy Buddies-style Chex cereal tossed in white chocolate, tahini, and matcha. And if they have it available, do not pass up (we repeat, do not pass up) a shot of spicy-sweet habanero umeshu." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
