Scrumpdelicious!! Wow!! Tiny shop, but gives a powerful punch in flavor!! So good. The pastry that looks like a fruit tart is so good. The crust is so light and airy. The cream is lightly sweet...doesn't over power your taste buds. And the fresh fruit (it is actually fresh) in season is very good. Also has a raspberry muffin. So good. Can't really describe in words how these pastries taste, but if you could hear me bite into one of these, you'd know how good I think they are. All I can say is give them a visit and try anything.

I don't come here often. But it sure is wonderful when I do. Such wonderful array of amazing delish desserts, a much higher class of yummies are found here. I've purchased cakes, cookies, danishes, strudels, muffins here. They are all oh my goodness, on another level. Mornings and lunch time are usually filled with people. So take a ticket. It's worth the wait. Sweet never tasted so good! 👍 Went back again.. so delish!

Really good bakery. I waited an hour and a half on Christmas Eve 2021 to buy the fruit strudels, something I would not recommend doing. Please do yourself a favor - and avoid waiting in line for a ridiculous amount of time - by ordering fruit strudels two weeks in advance for Christmas. Besides the strudels, I also bought tiramisu, brownies and chocolate chip cookies. They were all excellent. I look forward to coming back to get more baked goods; hopefully with less of a wait time.

Not too sweet pastries. Strudel is the best o have ever had: crispy, flaky and it’s custard with fresh fruit toppings. Absolutely delicious! Always buy for birthday occasions. Great great pastries.

First time coming to this bakery shop. I came here to buy a tres leches cake for a special birthday. When I got home and cut it I went like where’s the bread?...40% cake and 60% whipped cream, Would be great if this cake had less whipped cream. Too much of it and too sweet. Could barely taste the cake (bread). The bread itself tasted good. Not much whipped cream is needed in this tres leches cake. Other wise it would’ve been an excellent cake. At the time I saw this cake at the bakery shop I was excited to taste it, but when I got home and tasted it I got disappointed because the amount of whipped cream ruined the taste of this tres leches cake. I felt like I paid $19 for whipped cream.

This is a hdden gem in San Diego. Sssh don't tell anyone! If you are looking for fresh bakery that is consistent and amazing look no further. This place has been around for ages because they're doing something right! I always pre-order their fresh fruit strudel for friends and family coming to town or for special occasions like my friend who just had a baby. It is great to bring for any occasion and everyone is always impressed and in awe of how beautiful and delicious it is. It's $30 and well worth the $$! I do wish you could purchase these throughout SD county. I don't have a picture of the strudel but I do have a picture of their cheese danish, which was the absolute best cheese danish you'll ever have! Their cakes are amazing too!

Love everything at this bakery. My favorites are the fresh fruit strudel, apple Bavarian pocket and their fresh fruit and whipped cream cake. Their brownies, flourless chocolate cake and fresh fruit croissant is really good too. During the holidays, they sell pumpkin pies that are way better than the store bought pies. The only items I wouldn't buy are the cookies, cupcakes and carrot cake. The cookies and cupcakes aren't anything special and are there to cater to kids. The carrot cake here is too dry. I love a good carrot cake and the best I've had are from Sweet Revenge bakery and Extraordinary Desserts. Stick with their specialty items (anything with fresh fruits) and you can't go wrong.

Me and my family have been coming here for as long as I can remember! The desserts and pastries here are all so delicious, but the star is their fresh fruit strudel. As a kid, I always wanted their fruit strudel at my birthday parties. Now as an adult, there is nothing you could do to keep me away from coming here and getting some! They also have pies, cakes, brownies, etc. (plenty of options for all dessert needs). There's no better feeling than coming in here to satisfy your sweet tooth and being treated so kindly by staff that you walk out of there with more than expected! There is plenty of parking and it doesn't get too busy during the day! You enter through one side and exit the other side! Very smooth and consistent flow of business! You take a number and have plenty of time to look through the glass to see all the desserts. Prices are very reasonable too. Hans & Harry's holds a very special place in my heart and I hope when you come here to get to try as many delicious sweets and treats as possible!!

They've been here forever -!: the fresh fruit streudel is legendary! Awesome customer service and delicious pastries. Make sure you bring extra insulin if you have it and get ready for a mega sugar rush.

This review is for my recent visit. The items I chose were stale. And what is the clear jelly substance they put on the fruit now? I would suggest going very early in the day to make sure you get things that are fresh. The strawberry pound cake I got was so hard and I couldn't get past the jelly looking substance either. I don't remember them putting that before.. hmm. I've been here on a few occasions just for the fresh fruit tart but that was years ago. They do have a quite a few different sweets, maybe I just went at a bad time.

This is probably my favorite place to get a strudel in San Diego. Ordering is super easy with their online system and you just choose a pick up time that works for you. I usually get the strudel and will add chocolate to it depending on the mood. Service is great and this bakery will be my go to if I need to bring sweets for a party or just to treat myself. Very easy to find parking since it shares a huge parking lot. They have a pick up window on the left side or you can walk in from the front if you decide to peruse their offerings.

Love this place. My go to is the fruit strudel; highly recommend it. I got my coworkers hooked on it. We like to switch it up and instead of always taking a cake I'll take a fruit strudel. Yes, yes, yes! Hans and Harry's is a staple that never disappoints. Delicious, reasonably priced pastries, friendly staff, and lots of parking...you gotta love it! Although renowned for their fruit strudel, you'll be pleasantly surprised to know that they've got plenty more tricks up their sleeve; their almond croissants are one of my favorites in town, and they're one of the cheapest too ($3.99)! Whether you've got a craving for pineapple upside down cake (individual round or full size), apple caramel coffee cake, lemon bars, creme brulee, bear claws, or a whole lot more, H&H's has got you covered. Bring a box of these to work, and you'll be adored all year. If you want larger cakes or strudels, order them ahead of time to ensure you get one. The strudels do sell out. They also have gluten free offerings that are prepared in a separate facility to ensure there's no cross contamination. Don't believe me, go get you some! Enjoy! Local bakery located in Bonita serving up some of the best fruit strudels you'll find in San Diego! The Bavarian cream they put on these things is by far the best that I've tried so far. The strudels are sold as individual pieces or an entire log. Typically when I order these for get together or potlucks, it's always a crowd pleaser. Since the expansion of the store, the entrance door is on the far right. You go in, get a ticket number and wait to be called. On weekends, the line is out the door, but service is really good so the line moves quickly. There is a large selection of desserts to choose from but my typical favorites and go tos are anything with the Bavarian cream. They have a pretty basic coffee menu, I believe it's just hot black coffee and no specialty drinks. There is no seating inside the store, but have a few tables outside.

My family absolutely loves their delicious (long rectangled shaped) Fruit Tart Pastries for special events such as birthdays OR anniversaries. Their rectangular Fruit Tarts tend to sell out FAST, so make sure to come early! Also wanted to Let you all know that the bakery is CLOSED on Sundays.

Delicious bakery - famous for their fruit strudels. You can get a full size strudel or by the slice. Remember to take a ticket when you enter, this is how they provide service. My favorite pastries are the cinnamon rolls and the cheese danish ($3.30 each). They keep fresh even the next day. They also serve Moto coffee and they have a few tables outside shaded by the roof, if you want to enjoy the goodies straight away. Starbucks is also in the same lot if you want a different beverage with your goodies. I've ordered cakes online over the holidays and at busy times. They have a very organized system and have never messed up an order. Solid bakery worth supporting. Saturdays are busy but the line moves fast.

Thai bakery has changed a ton! It's really big and spacious now. I had not been here in a long time. The selection is still pretty much the same. The portions are BIG. It's really fresh, quality baked goods. I ordered an apple Bavarian pocket...WOW. The bread was so fluffy and moist and I totally looooooooove their Bavarian cream. I'll pretty much eat anything with their Bavarian cream on it. The croissant was MASSIVE and just so super moist and fluffy. The staff is organized and very nice. I stopped coming here for a long time because the staff was just so intolerable. But I'm glad to say that it's a whole new set of people and they were very friendly and accommodating. Parking isn't ever an issue in this shopping center.

#FreshFruitStrudel is a perfect dessert on Easter Sunday! So excited for this treat and it didn't disappoint. Fruit was fresh as its name implied and the pastry was crisp with yummy #BavarianCream. We were also treated to a #BlueberryVanillaCrumbCake. I took some home and it was so moist and delicious with morning coffee. Always a popular dessert to bring to a gathering and they have individual servings too

They have their process for long lines down packed. Luckily, my wait wasn't long, but DON'T MISS PICKING YOUR NUMBER as soon as you walk in. They DO use the number system here. This allows you to step out of line and figure out what you're going to order and not hold up the ordering process. Very efficient! Their pastry case looked fabulous. I drove here knowing I was only going to pick one and not go overboard. I'm trying to cut back on sugar! Lol. Alas, I ordered the fruit strudel and because the cookie was only $2.50, a ginger boy cookie. I brought them home and ate my fruit strudel. What a wonderful crunch surprise because there is raw sugar on the bottom of the puff pastry. The cream is lovely and they have a mirrored sugar glaze over the sugar. Such beautiful presentation! So far, I have eaten an arm of the ginger boy, and disappointingly, it was crunchy. I prefer my ginger men chewy. It was tasty though! Update: I left the cookie out for a couple hours and it softened up. All in all, there's no doubt I'll come back and pick a new pastry. They all look soooo good!

Anytime I am asked to bring dessert to a party my first thought is always Hans & Harry's Fresh Fruit Strudel. Crust always perfectly softly crumbles in your mouth and the Bavarian creamy goodness simply put is delish. It's a light dessert that does not make me feel heavy after I eat it. The biggest problem is stopping after having a piece. And if you bring this to a party, everyone will be thanking you and newbies will get to know you asking where you got it from - TRUST me you cannot go wrong. My family and I have been coming here for 15+ years. The cakes and desserts here are delicious! The service is very quick and easy and the ambiance is great!

Wow! I was hungry for breakfast one morning and really wanted fresh pastries. So I searched Yelp and Hans and Harry's bakery was one of the top results, but I had never heard of it. The reviews were good, and the photos made my mouth water. So pastries are so beautiful and the prices were decent! Most of the items I got were less expensive than their sad Starbucks doppelgängers, and WAYYYY more delicious. I've attached a photo, it should speak for itself. (And yes, they taste as wonderful as they look. No flavor quality was lost to the aesthetics.)

I love a good bakery, especially one where you walk in and everything just smells good. This reminds me of a Porto's Bakery but more mom & pop since this was nowhere as large as Porto's. Nonetheless, the selection is wonderful and the staff was excellent. They had so many treats from cookies to puff pastries and cakes. I ordered a 2 fruit tarts and a sugar cookie and was not disappointed. I wish I could order more but the way calories and sugar work... Cannot wait to come back and try more when I'm in town.

I had not been for over two years. And boy has this place grown for the good of the community. Although the shop looks very different and larger, it still has a familiar feel. The quality of the service and desserts is spot on. The only recommendation to improve the experience is the quality of the coffee . Either sell good coffee or don't include it in your shop.

Hans and Harry's has some of the best pastries in the San Diego area. This was my second time trying it and was pleased to see that they have consistent quality. That is sometimes hard to find. I got there around 2 pm and was immediately attended. There were plenty of other shoppers there but were quick to attend people trying to buy some sweet treats. The service here was very rushed which was the only small downside. This was my first time in the store and there was so much to choose from I wasn't quite ready to place an order immediately, but my number was called so I understood I had to make my order quick. I totally understand the employees are trying to avoid a rush and want to keep it moving as much as possible, but it was still a bit upsetting I wasn't able to look more around. Now that I am aware I am sure next visit I won't pick a number to allow myself more time. However, this feels like a huge bakery so I like the inside ambiance. I ordered their fruit tart, the long one, that serves about 12-13 people. This was a hit last time we had it for a birthday celebration and knew this would be great. The strudel is perfectly crispy and soft on the inside. The custard is delicous and not too sweet which is great for everyone. The fruit is fresh and compliments then entire strudel. Everyone seriously couldn't get enough and was begging for seconds. This is definitely the best strudel and recommend it for everyone that is looking for a new dessert to pick up for birthdays or celebrations.

We stumbled upon this bakery as we were exiting the restaurant lounge across the walkway. The line to this place was wrapping around the corner, so we had to check it out. It works as an old school bakery where you take a ticket as you walk in, then order once your ticket is called. There are endless options for cakes, tarts, bars, croissants, and cupcakes. There's even a new Barbie inspired one. Prices are pretty standard for a gourmet bakery. It all looks so good! I'm a big fan of strawberry shortcake, so I had to get that. I was torn between that and the raspberry upside cake. I'll have to get that one next time I'm in town!

Me and my friend were so surprised with how affordable the pastries were! I asked when the cakes were made, and they told me that morning. I appreciate how much variety is at this bakery, and will be coming back again to try everything else I couldn't get. It's a medium sized bakery with not much going on decor wise, just baked goods and cakes on the other side. We had arrived there at around 4pm and most of the baked goods were sold out. Luckily I got the very last cinnamon roll! (be careful-- it was extremely sweet) There were a lot of people still coming in after us, and we are thankful we didn't have to wait in a line, especially since everyone has told us there is usually a line out the door.

Hans and Harry's have been doing things right since 1991 and recently completed a beautiful renovation. I'm particularly fond of their chocolate dipped pecan pie. I cannot get enough of it! So If you're looking for some tasty baked goods in the Bonita area, look no further than Hans & Harry's!

Hans & Harry bakery had been around for 30+ yrs they have the best fruit strudel ever. The use fresh strawberries, Fresh Fruit Strudel Sugared puff pastry topped with Bavarian cream and freshly cut strawberries, apricots, kiwis, and blueberries. And other flavors! My whole family and friends far and near come to Hans & Harry's! Order ahead because they may run out!

Excellent pastries only one that is not good. It's the cannoli. I'm from New York little Italy. These cannolis do not have cream cheese in the filling. Also they are not completely filled and have a layer of heavy chocolate on them. Terrible. Should have plain coating and on each end of cannoli may add chocolate chips or pistachios or orange peels.

Love this place for a nice treat. The service is great and the workers give honest recommendations. The treats are wonderful and reasonably priced.

Paid by card. Hans & Harry's is located in a plaza and offers plaza parking. There's no indoor seating but there are some seats outside. I've gone here on weekdays and weekends and it's usually busy but the line goes fast. I usually get a mix of pastries and cookies and sometimes the fruit shell. The individual fruit tart doesn't have the chocolate layer inside and you can taste the difference. I recommend the fruit shell. I would recommend this place since they have so much variety and everything is good. I will definitely be going back.

Cookies and cream cake is amazing!! Cake is moist and cream cheese frosting is on point. I have also had their carrot cake and it's just as good.

I have heard of this place so many times and didn't have a chance to try it until this past weekend. I placed an order online Friday evening and was able to pick up my order early Saturday so I could bring it to my coworkers that afternoon. The online ordering process was so easy and the ability to choose your pickup window is a lifesaver since I was on a tight schedule. I ordered the fruit strudel cut into 12 pieces and added the chocolate ganache because why not? They have a separate window for pick up orders only which is nice because inside it gets a little chaotic. Once you try their pastries it's understandable and honestly even worth it. They grab your order once you show up and show you the order before they pack it up nicely for you. They do stress keeping it refrigerated since it's delicate. The strudel was sensational. I loved the ganache tucked just under the cream and fruit. My coworker that recommended it believed it tasted better without the ganache, but I won't know unless I go and get another one, obviously. No one complained though because between three of us we polished it off nicely. It's a little drive from the freeway but the plaza isn't too bad, I had been to the Dominican place next door last year so I was shocked I overlooked this then. I did a quick walk-through of the shop after I grabbed my strudel and saw so many delicious-looking items I wanted to get, but alas I had to be good and watch my delicate figure by not adding to my treasure. It is on my list to visit again and try more of these delights.

We LOVE Han's & Harry's Bakery. Everything we have ever purchased from here has been great. We recently visited the day before Easter and surprisingly enough (although it was pouring rain) there were still lots of people visiting the bakery, but the employees still worked as fast as ever to ensure we weren't in line long. All of the pastries on display looked amazingly delicious We were looking forward to trying the Cookies & Cream Cake they make but the pre made ones in the fridge were sold out and again it was Easter weekend. We end up taking home: A Chocolate Eclair for my hubs- although he had no idea what an eclair was and what to expect lol A Chocolate Coconut Scone which was great! 2 Caramel Malt Cake Pops- Easter Style & they were super tasty. Not too sweet. Just perfect & cold which made them even better! & we picked two signature decorated chocolate Easter cupcakes for our girls (which is the only thing we got a photo of). My girls completely devoured their cupcakes but I mean what kid wouldn't. Lol We also took home the famous Fruit Strudel to celebrate my hubs birthday. This has always been a fave for us! Han's & Harry's has always been great and & made the ordering and shopping process super easy!

Finally got to try the famous strudel square. I stumbled on their yelp page while looking for a dessert place in San Diego, and I'm so glad that I took the drive down here. They had a variety of selections to choose from including cupcakes, cookies, fresh and frozen cakes, and many other goodies. I opted just for one strudel square to go, and that was my biggest mistake! I should have ordered more. The base was flaky, and the custard cream was creamy with the taste of vanilla and custard. It was the perfect level of sweetness and was topped with fresh fruit. I hope to come back to try some of their other pastries in the future!

My parent's favorite place for cakes and sweets to go. Purchased our usual strawberry fruit strudel cake and it was, as always, the absolute best!! The staff is friendly and willing to answer all questions but don't forget to grab a paper number as soon as you enter the bakery, they take orders based on their numbering system. We've been going here for over 20 years and it's not a fancy sit down sort of place but that's perfectly fine. Buy what you want and take it to go. The cake was a little over $32, freshly made, no preservatives and very fairly priced.

I came here to buy my sons birthday pastries, and although It was very busy, everybody greeted you with a smile , I took a number and the line was moving pretty fast . I got a strudel and brownies with peppermint . I've been buying strudel at Hans and Harry's for years and by far the best in bonita . Fresh pastries , fresh fruit everything is delicious.

Hand & Harry have always been a consistently great bakery. The pastries & cakes are delicious. The customer service is amazing. You're welcomed with a greeting the moment you walk in the door. I needed some breakfast pastries and muffins for a party. I was shown multiple choices of both and guided to ideas that might work for me. I was even told that the muffins were in less expensive if I ordered them online. On the day of pickup, my order was ready on time, and I was done in less than 5 minutes. Everything was delicious and fresh. Received so many compliments on them! Hans & Harry came through once again!

I learned about this bakery through a friend. When I mentioned to my friend where I would be camping next she said that I would be near this European Bakery, Han's & Harry. Well, you don't have to twist my arm when it comes to food, especially desserts! My friend said she hadn't been to the bakery for awhile since she moved away. She shared that every time you went the line was out the door. I will have to let her know that the info she shared still stands true. They are on a, take a number, system so this helps. You could browse if you can get around people. But hopefully what you see in the case is still there by the time your number is called. I arrived on a Thursday 2 hours before closing. There were a lot of empty trays but there were still some beautiful pastries left to select from. They also have a fridge/freezer against the wall with boxed cakes, cake rolls and such. The line I felt moved a good pace. The staff behind the counter were very helpful and very friendly. We were going to be celebrating a birthday so I was looking for something to serve a large group. I saw one beautiful strudel left in the case and luckily my number was next. I explained what I was looking for and why. Since we would not be enjoying the strudel at the time of my purchase the gal suggested that I preorder one and pick up the day of the celebration. This will insure that the pastry will not become soggy. I opted for her suggestion, but purchased some goodies to take with me. The plus side of preordering too is that you can go to a separate window (on the outside, of east side of building)that is for pick-ups only! You must have already paid and do not request anything from the bakery section. IT IS STRICTLY A PICK UP ONLY, window. I returned on Saturday to pick up my preordered strudel. I went into to the store and grabbed a number thinking to purchase more goodies and more lemon bars (they were delicious, made with the right tartness and sweetness). I ended up leaving and going to the side of the building to the pick up window. The line was long and I was on a time crunch to get to the party on time. Otherwise, I wouldn't have mind waiting. I could not return the next day to get more goodies, they are closed on Sunday's. My purchases : Preordered strudel 2 Lemon Bar 1 Tiramisu Cup 2 Apple Turnovers Abigail was so helpful and friendly. I look forward to returning here, the wait in line is well worth it. I can't wait to try more of what they have to offer!

A Bonita classic, Han's and Harry's has been a part of my life since I was little. Every party someone brought the long fruit strudel and it was an instant favorite. It has grown a lot more since then, especially during COVID, and has now expanded to the surrounding building. I do miss the "hole-in-a-wall" feel it used to have. Now seeing how they've renovated the place I just hope it doesn't become too modern and stays true to its origins and locals. Everything you get there is delicious and flaky; never a miss.

But always happy too serve you There Coffee station is nice sitting out too little bistro sitting outside is a nice too There selections with large glass cases are a gorgeous touch! You can see all there beautiful pastries and cookies...all cakes are in behind you frozen treats too. They sprinkle all love in each of their cakes, fruit strudels, and cookies...you can smell the goodness in the parking lot is large If there no up front it because everyone in inside waiting for the delicious pastries This is one gold mine here I love to get special gifts cakes or pastries from here But the peanut butter bars dipped chocolate bars are the best too!!
