Best Dishes the Eater Portland Team Ate This Week - Eater Portland

"I had a hankering for Korean food this week, so I tried out the new-to-me Beaverton spot Hansik (not to be confused with similarly named Beaverton spot Hansik Town). Among what we ordered, my favorite dish was the egg-battered “pan fritters,” or modeumjeon. We got the assorted option, which came with beef, zucchini, pollock, and crab stick with vegetables, with a green onion and soy dipping sauce. It was a homey, comfort food dish that I had never tried before. It’s on the appetizer section of the menu, but works just as great as a side dish to keep returning to throughout the meal." - Eater Staff

Recommended to me by a local and did not disappoint. Dined on a Sunday afternoon right when they opened so plenty of tables available and quick service. Classical music was playing in the background so it was a peaceful meal. Six different banchans with free refills. The potato one was very flavorful and my favorite. Got the Beef Roast (Bibimbap) on the stone griddle and added a fried egg. Overall cost me $30 without tip. In my case, enough leftovers for another meal. Overall, enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and food.

We ordered the steamed beef with bean sprouts and cold noodles, and were gifted steamed egg bcz they accidentally made it. All of the dishes are interesting and well made. The steamed beef dish might be too bland if you are expecting typical Korean food with heavy seasoning, but we liked it and it is nice with dipping sauce (wish there were more). The steamed soufflé egg is really good, highly recommend it. Overall maybe a slightly more pricy but they offer some dishes you don’t find anywhere else. Not many ppl dine there, maybe bcz of their slightly higher pricing point.

Some of the most authentic Korean food in the Pacific Northwest. The steamed brisket might not be for everyone, but if you do well with more refined/ subtle, natural flavors then def try it out — you won’t be able to find this authentic Korean dish in many places in the US, even California.

New and spacious Korean restaurant with a clean and modern vibe. The assorted pancakes was a feast for the eyes, a nice variety of meats and veggies cooked in a soft, egg batter. The grilled meats were supposed to come with 5 different greens, yet our vegetable bouquet only had red and green leaf lettuces with a few sticks of carrots. The seafood pancake was thick, almost rivaling the thickness of a pizza. Our server was great, probably the only Korean restaurant I’ve been to where we were asked if we’d like a refill on the banchans. Overall decent meal.

It was SIK! A great job done by the entire staff. Food was really great although the small cold plates could have come out sooner, the food was really spot on, decor as well.A very big open area. Bring your sweetheart here. IMHO. Will be back. GO!

WOW! This place blew me away! The food was absolutely incredible. The attention to detail means shows. Everything was perfectly cooked. I'm going to venture a guess that this place must be authentic because I didn't know what half of the menu was. Extremely kind staff that was very accommodating about my wife's nut allergy. It is a bit on the pricey side, not all dishes will break the bank. I will be back to try more!

We recently dined at Hansik, a fantastic Korean restaurant, and had an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious and perfect for hanging out with friends and family due to its generous portions. Although the prices are on the expensive side, the quantity and quality make it worth it. We ordered seafood pancakes, spicy squid, and spicy beef stew. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared. The side dishes were numerous and equally delicious. Overall, I would give Hansik a 9 out of 10 and will definitely be going back again.

We found the restaurant at their soft opening. The food was fantastic and blown away by the bouquets of a variety of green leaves. It was so appetizing, and I was impressed and ready to review them right away. However, after a month, it is so crowded now, and the quality of green mix and side dishes have been reduced. It's still a good place for dining, and I hope the restaurant will remain successful and not cut any corner.
