"Seollongtang, a restorative ox bone broth perfect for hangovers, might be the more beloved dish at Han Yang in Buena Park. But on a hot summer day, naengmyeon is what we go for at this roadside spot with plentiful outdoor seating. Chopped lettuce and a liberal helping of roasted sesame seeds make this a more special bowl of naengmyeon than the usual, with a rich, springy flavor. You’ll also find a larger portion of meat here than at other spots, which alone makes it a cold bowl worth seeking out." - dakota kim

"This restaurant looks like a converted car hop. But instead of serving burgers and other American food, Han Yang dishes out bowls of beef, ox bone, ground pork mandu (dumpling), and galbitang. The bibim naengmyeon — cold buckwheat noodle dish with a sweet and spicy house sauce comes garnished with lettuce, cucumber, roasted sesame and boiled egg, while the kong guksu — iced soybean sauce noodles with cucumber and tomato, is another cold noodle dish worth trying. Vegetarian dishes include the rice hot plate with seasoned thistle, egg yolk, and kkakdugi, or pickled radish. A gondeure sauce gets mixed in to meld all the flavors. Also written as “gondre,” the Korean thistle originated as a wild mountain herb but is now widely grown in greenhouses in Korea." - Jenn Tanaka

Google
Very cozy and small place but perfect for soup and soup weather. We got the galbi-tang and it was full of meat in the soup. The broth was very good and the banchan sides were all very tasty. It included kimchi, mustard leaf, radish and others as accompaniments. The staff was very attentive and asked us if we needed any refills in the banchan.

Love this place. It's hard to find quality food like this, even in Korean. This is real authentic soul food for Koeeans. The meats are very tender, and broth is savory. No wonder there always is a waiting line. It really worth to wait. I really want them to expand this location. Good luck to your business.

Google
They deliver a delightful Bibimbap experience. The dish boasts a colorful array of fresh vegetables, succulent marinated beef, and a perfectly fried egg. The harmony of flavors, coupled with the interactive mixing at the table, makes it a satisfying and flavorful choice for Korean cuisine enthusiasts. The gochujang sauce adds a spicy kick, rounding out this well-executed classic. Highly recommended for a tasty journey into Korean flavors.

Oh my goodness, I am so mad. I ordered my favorite katsu, and the container was dirty with something like mold on it. This is so disgusting and disappointing.

Google
food is great but the service could improve. The staff is nice, a little chatty. The problem is, we only ordered 2 items and she still got it wrong. we ordered cutlet but ended up getting a soup. She did corrected it and gave us what we ordered in the end. To top it, they gave us our bill while we are still eating, we were surprised as the restaurant is empty, a lot of empty table, so we’re not sure why they were rushing us! and as a finale, while i’m paying for the bill, the staff specifically asked to gave her a tip. we will not go back to this place because of this experience.

Welcoming atmosphere, great food, amazing service. We were not familiar enough with Korean cuisine, but waitress helped with it, made recommendations which dish to prefer at the first time, how to serve it and what to taste. Portions are huge, food is delicious. Perfect service

Google
The pork cutlet was excellent, and the galbitang was delicious too. With reasonable prices, I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Came here for an early dinner on Sunday night so thankfully it wasn't too full. All of the servers are nice Korean Aunties so has a really nice authentic feel. We opted for the classic kalbi tang and dol sap bimbimbap. The kalbi tang was clean and not oily, really good flavor! The dol sap bilbimbap came out piping hot, the rice got super crispy on the bottom. The toppings were so delicious, one of the best dol sap bimbimbaps I've ever had! There are only a handful of ban Chan, kimchi, picked radish, kimchi greens and kimchi radish. The flavor was really good but wish they had other selections. Overall really nice dinner, the flavors were so good and we will be returning!

Yelp
Han Yang is a regular spot for me during the winter time. I usually always order the galbi tang which is always very good and so comforting when it gets cold outside. While the food is excellent, it is usually quite busy, and it is a smaller sized cafe that you usually have to wait to dine in. This is a no-frills, authentic Korean spot with a mostly Korean clientele, so you know you are getting the real deal here. Parking can be packed at times, and the bathroom can sometimes be unkempt, but it's well worth it.

Yelp
Han Yang Restaurant in Buena Park is the kind of place you almost drive past without noticing--but trust me, don't. From the outside, it looks like a simple diner, but step inside, and it's bright, clean, and ready to serve you food that feels like a warm hug from a stranger who somehow knows exactly what you need. The pork cutlet (tonkatsu) is thick, juicy, and fried to golden perfection, with a crisp crust that pairs perfectly with the tender meat. The galbitang (beef short rib soup) is rich and comforting, with a clean, flavorful broth. Adding extra green onions, a micro scoop of white rice, and a shot of kimchi juice from the side dishes turns it into a bowl full of bold, satisfying full flavor. A pinch of salt ties it all together beautifully. The bibimbap, served in a sizzling hot stone bowl, is fresh and hearty. The perfectly cooked egg and vibrant bouquet of ingredients create a satisfying dish that hits every craving and texture. And with portions this generous, I was thrilled to pack up leftovers to enjoy later--it's the kind of meal that keeps on giving. The banchan round out the experience, with tangy kimchi and crunchy pickled radish offering sharp, bright flavors. A standout is the thinly sliced jalapeños and another item in a soy sauce-based marinade (jangajji), adding a spicy, savory touch that complements the meal. I could drink this juice. Han Yang focuses on honest, straightforward cooking. The food is hearty, satisfying, and memorable, leaving you with the kind of comfort that lingers long after the meal--and maybe even into your next one.

Yelp
This review is long overdue. I first tried Han Yang during quarantine, and it didn't disappoint! Today, we ordered the ox bone soup and the spicy beef soup, and both were absolutely delicious. The ox bone soup was so rich and comforting, with tender meat that just fell off the bone. The spicy beef soup had the perfect kick- spicy enough to warm you up without being overwhelming. The side dishes were fresh and flavorful, and the staff was attentive throughout our meal. The food was prepared fairly quick. The restaurant has a super casual vibe. Parking is hit or miss, but honestly, the food was worth it. If you're craving authentic Korean soups, this place is a must-visit!

Courtney T.

Yelp
I got the beef short ribs and they were divine! Tasted so fresh and yummy! Reminds me of my family homemade soups. Very good! I love their radish kimchi. It's a bit of a wait since it's a small restaurant.

Yelp
I really miss this place. I'm from the Bay Area and went to school in SoCal. I moved back home after college, but I came here a couple of times when I was a student. I always come here whenever I'm in town, because it just has outstanding food and great memories. I'm partial to the seollongtang, and the employees are always so friendly and wonderful. It can be pretty busy here, so it does get loud, and the parking lot is kinda cramped, but it's well worth the visit for anyone who likes Korean restaurants and are in OC. I wish I can come back soon.

Yelp
Hanyang provided an excellent dining experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. I tried the donkatsu and seolleongtang, and both dishes were flavorful, comforting, and well-prepared. The donkatsu was perfectly crispy on the outside with a tender, juicy pork cutlet inside. The sauce that accompanied it was tangy and rich, complementing the dish without overpowering it. The portion size was generous and satisfying. The seolleongtang was another highlight, with a light yet deeply flavorful broth that was perfect for a chilly evening. The thinly sliced beef and tender noodles added a hearty touch, and it was great that they provided seasoning options to adjust it to my taste. The service here was attentive and efficient. Our server made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal, from refills on side dishes to answering any questions about the menu. Even though the restaurant was busy during my visit, the staff managed to keep things running smoothly without making us feel rushed. The ambience at Hanyang is simple and welcoming, with a casual and comfortable vibe. The seating was spacious enough to accommodate both small groups and larger gatherings. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, which added to the overall experience. Hanyang delivered on both quality and service, making it a place I would happily recommend to anyone looking for delicious Korean cuisine in a friendly and relaxed setting. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu.

Yelp
Busy on a Saturday around lunchtime. They have their own parking lot with sufficient spaces. There was a bit of a wait but not too bad. Ambiance was your typical Korean restaurant. The side dishes were alright- just kimchi, radish, and some kind of vegetable. I got the ox bone soup ($18.49) and it was pretty tasty. You've got to add some salt and pepper to bring out the taste of the soup. I expected more glass noodles inside. The brisket was alright. Overall, it was a decent meal for a chilly day.

Yelp
First time here. Family wanted soup. We were seated pretty quick as they were not busy. This place was small with a small parking lot. Place was clean. Bathroom looks clean with sticky floors. We ordered three different soup Ox Bone Soup w/ intestines (ordering this one was a bit confusing with the meat option and mixed), Beef Short Ribs and Ox Knee Bone Soup. All the soup had very little meat and noodle. You add salt to your tasting. Would recommend ordering extra noodles if you're expecting to have noodles with your soup. Each soup came with a side of rice, only two came out. Informed the waitress we were missing one rice. We ended up getting charged for extra rice we didn't order. Waitress ended up taking off the charge after counting the rice bowls on the table. Very little bon chon dishes. Overall, the soup was okay. Service was not the best. Waitress were not very attentive. We paid with credit card and ended up not getting our card back. We literally had to hunt down the waitress after 15 minutes waiting for her to bring back our card and receipt to sign off. She left the card on the counter and forgot about it which is not okay.

Yelp
Orange County has no shortage of Korean food, and Han Yang is one to be remembered. All their dishes come with homemade banchan, and they are known for their Korean soups. The establishment was clean and service was friendly. We both got Bibimbap, and they were delicious! Generous portions, and loaded with toppings, the dolsot created the perfect crispy rice. The banchans also have free refills, what a bonus! Great food and experience! Definitely worth checking out in Buena Park!

Yelp
So this place was recommended to me. And I was supposed to meet up here. When I first looked at the menu online, it didn't seem to stand out to me. However, when I got to taste it, it was amazing, which I will get you a little bit later. But first, this place and driveway is tucked away neatly in the middle of the street. You would have to pay attention in order to get into the driveway. And my first pass I completely overshot it. And once I got into the driveway, it was absolutely full and had to park at the end of the block. So a word of caution, keep an eye out when you're almost there. Since I missed the restaurant, I got there late. My brother had gotten a seat inside already and had ordered. The service seemed very typical of many Korean restaurants that I have been to, so nothing out of place. But when I tasted the food, it was surprisingly much more flavorful than that how the pictures portrayed it. The place was well lit, but it gave off the vibe of a cross between a hole in a wall and a hospital. Which is not uncommon too many smaller Asian restaurants I've been to. It can get quite busy, and there was a line already for me when I arrived. Overall, a very surprising gem of a restaurant. I really enjoyed the soups that they had. I would most likely come back and get some of those soups to go when I feel the need for something warm

Yelp
If you want authentic Korean food, this is your spot. Side dishes are plentiful and delicious. The ladies are pretty nice considering it's a Korean restaurant (Korean service and American service is just different). Ambiance is casual. I always order: pork katsu - not too thin, but large slice of pork perfectly crispy and not too greasy. Comes with cabbage salad Spicy beef soup - hangover cure. This soup in particular comes out in a large metal dish. Spicy soup with glass noodles and tender strips of beef that tears off. Kalbitang - short rib soup. Fattier and richer than ox tail soup. But delicious all the same. Their portions are large, I usually can't finish a soup and will take it home for another meal. Parking is a little hard and it is a medium size restaurant with outdoor seating.

Claudia H.

Yelp
Came here for dinner around 8pm and didn't have to wait too long. We ordered the galbitang, yukgaejang, and ox knee bone soup. Since everyone on yelp mentioned the galbitang is the best on the menu, we definitely had to get that. And as someone who doesn't normally order galbitang, this was pretty good! The yukgaejang was a good amount of spicy and came in a large portion enough for at least 2 meals. It also came with a generous amount of glass noodles. The one dish that I thought was lacking was the ox knee bone soup. The broth tasted watered down compared to seollongtang at other places. Overall food was great and came out quickly.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't written a review for Han Yang before--this place is truly our go-to spot for a warm, comforting bowl of soup! We first started coming here for their yuk gae jang, a rich, buttery, and spicy brisket soup that's absolutely delicious. When we're in the mood for something a bit tamer, we also love their sul long tang, kalbi tang, and do ga nee tang. The banchan selection isn't the most extensive, but the quality is spot on, especially their radish and regular kimchi. The service is consistently fast, and even when there's a line, it moves quickly. We keep coming back without a single regret--definitely a place that's earned our loyalty!

Yelp
Top 3 Korean restaurants in LA/orange! Not too much seating inside, but can get seated quickly outside. Quick turnaround as they take orders before sitting! Their 3 kimchi variations were unique and delicious, Napa (ok), turnip (crunchy, slightly sweet and tangy), and sweet mustard (slight bitter tang). + Bulgogi Dol-Sot ($23.99): huge stone pot, loaded unique toppings, rather than spinach, bean sprouts, and mushrooms, got seaweed, green onion stalks, onions, which I loved! Tender and sweet bulgogi. Mix! Bite with kimchi! Crispy rice! (9/10)

Michelle K.

Yelp
I came here with my dear college friend on a Thursday evening and were seated immediately. Very standard Korean restaurant vibe. We both ordered the Galbi tang and wow, was it fantastic. The broth, meat, and side kimchi were a perfect combo of flavor. It was an incredibly comforting dish to have on a chilly night. The portion size was also quite large, which I wish I could've finished, but alas was restrained by my stomach capacity. It was also nice that they provided tongs and scissors to help you get the meat off the bone. If you're in the area, would highly recommend grabbing a bowl of soup and rice here, especially during these colder months.

heidi s.

Yelp
Omg the broth was insanely good. I'm Mexican so I'm used to having thick and spicy soups, but the warmth this soup brought healed my soul! The service was good, I just thought it was so funny that they have a sign that you can't take the kimchi home (also very good) hahahaha. The ambiance was casual!

Shirley B.

Yelp
Food: good comfort standard Korean food, their galbitang is excellent and probably one of the most popular menu. There was surprisingly a lot of meat inside, they give you tong and scissors to get maximum meat, or you can just gnaw at the bones haha. You don't need to add more salt, it's great as it is, but you can mix some white rice in it and eat it together for elevated experience. Another good option on a hot day is the cold noodle, with chewy texture and savory umami cold soup Price: about 18-22$ per entree dish, which is pricey but unfortunately the standard pricing for most Korean restaurants nowadays Ambiance: family friendly vibe, for all ages, customers are mostly in Korean. Inside is spacious with many tables and chairs, clean and brightly lit Service: the Korean ladies who were taking our orders and serving us were very nice, mostly spoke to me in Korean, my boyfriend let me do all the talking lol Parking: there is free outside parking next to the restaurant, we came Sunday lunch time and still was able to find an available spot.

Yelp
Han Yang is a really popular Korean restaurant in Buena Park known for their Galbi Tang (short rib soup). It's a very light, clear broth and it's definitely one of the most popular dishes here amongst the mostly Korean clientele. It comes with a bowl of steamed rice, which you could enjoy with the stewed short ribs and aromatics in your soup. Though the soups are the most popular items here, what I often get from here is their pork katsu. They give you a large quantity, the meat is juicy, and the breading is nice and flaky. It's served with their "special sauce," really nicely prepared rice, miso soup, and a cabbage salad. If you aren't familiar with the items on the menu, this is a really safe bet and popular option. I think Bibimbap is one of the most comforting dishes ever and I definitely intend to try their version of this dish sometime soon. If you haven't tried bibimbap, I'd highly recommend that you try it someday. If you're dining in-house, you must have it in the sizzling plate so that your rice can get nicely crisped on the bottom of the heated bowl. Though I haven't had it here, it's generally a nice go-to dish at a korean restaurant if you don't know what to order! What I ordered last time that I really loved is their Bibim nangmyun (spicy mixed buckwheat noodles). They take their cold soba noodles and top it with a bunch of veggies, roasted sesame, boiled egg, and spicy sauce. You mix everything together and you eat it. The cold noodles with the mildly sweet/spicy heat is so refreshingly delicious. It is so good. It is such a nice contrast with the other hot dishes that are served here. The place is so popular that it can have a long wait. If you are not Korean, it can be challenging and intimidating; however, I assure you that this is worth it. I was really happy to see it available on doordash, which is something that I absolutely take advantage of to (1) avoid the wait and (2) to try things I haven't tried yet. .

Derek T.

Yelp
Nothing like a good galbitang or cold noodles to get the day going. Han Yang is here to serve all your tang needs. It's busy but not crazy busy so you can expect to be seated in a somewhat timely manner. Anyway, get the galbitang. There's so much meat and it's so juicy and savory, no need to add any salt to the soup. Eat it with rice for maximum pleasure. The cold noodles have the option of being cut so you don't struggle with chewing long noodles. It's nice and refreshing and goes well with mustard. Just try it, you won't regret it. All in all, standard korean pricing, modest parking lot, amazing food and flavor.

Scott L.

Yelp
No frills Korean restaurant that serves large single-sized soups, iron platters, hot & cold noodles, and a pork Tonkatsu plate. Portions so large that you'll likely take a portion home. This place is located within a short drive of Knotts' and has a large parking lot. Service is excellent and fast. The staff will provide you guidance as to how to eat certain dishes if you're not familiar with the item that you've ordered. The four of us were the first diners for lunch on a Tuesday. The main room filled within the hour while the front side room appeared to be half full. Majority of diners were Korean which is a positive sign as to authenticity. We had: - Kalbitang, short rib in coup with glass noodles and a side of rice. This is a house favorite. Soup was tasty, the meat easily cut with scissors off the bone. Plenty enough to take home. - Bibim Namgmyun, a vegetarian spicy noodle and lettuce dish, - Mandu Guk, potstickers and noodles soup, soup might have been the same as the short rib soup, still good - Nakji Dolsot, spicy braised octopus with veggies on a hot platter. Spicy and chewy. All of the items were good and the Yelp ratings and reviews were spot on. Worth going to...there are 14 individual entree items accompanied by Banchan composed of three house made Kimchee items. Non soup items come with a miso soup.

Sally L.

Yelp
This place is so goooood!! I HIGHLY recommend. Around typical lunch/dinner hours they do get quite busy and so there will be a wait often times, but it is worth the wait :D. They have seating both inside and outside. There is a parking lot, but if it is busy you might have to wait to get a spot or park on the street. I always order the donkatsu (pork cutlet). The serving is HUGE!! It comes with miso soup, rice and sauce. This is so good. I always crave it. I have tried their yukgaejang and seollantang as well. These are yummy as well! I also really enjoy the kimchi that they serve the table. They do refills as well. Whenever I am visiting my family in OC, I always visit this restaurant. Again, I definitely recommend trying this place out.

Kanta K.

Yelp
I think anything you get here is going to be comforting and warm. I got the manduguk (dumpling and rice cake soup) and it was light yet flavorful. There were tons of tteok and the mandu were so big, so it will definitely fill you up. It wasn't the most flavorful manduguk I've had but still not bad. The highlight of this place is the kimchi though. If you like fresh kimchi that's not as sour, you'll like this place!

Ethan C.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Ordered tonkatsu and it was yummy and came in a large portion; banchan was also very yummy. Very clean environment; service was very good as well, making sure we got more kkakdugi when we ran out

Diana F.

Yelp
Nice Korean restaurant in Buena Park...one way in and one way out so be careful getting in and out of their parking lot. Ordered the dumpling soup with rice cake and bibimbap. Soup came with strips of beef, with some pieces being a bit tougher than others. The bibimbap was yummy as it still sizzled in the stone pot. Servers brought over iced tea and the food. However they never checked in or asked how things were going, which is unfortunate but not surprising in an Asian restaurant. It got quite loud after a large group came in after us. Prices were comparable to other restaurants, around $20-25 for each entree.

Chris R.

Yelp
So this was fine. I liked the soup, but couldn't eat it all. Also, I was feeling sick. I enjoyed the banchan. The service was okay, and they were concerned that I ate little. I'm sure I'll be back.

Airi G.

Yelp
Nothing says comforting like a bowl of hot soup, specifically galbi-tang. The short ribs were tender and the broth was full of umami so much so that I couldn't stop drinking it when I got full. The serving size is pretty generous and I took the rest of it to go. When I went to heat it up again the next day, I saw how much collagen was in the broth which is a reminder of how nutritious this meal is in addition to how good it tastes. The only odd thing was how gritty the green onions tasted, even when served fresh, but I'm pretty sure it was a fluke. I probably came at a peak time at 1 p.m. on a Saturday because the parking lot was packed. When I left though it was half empty. The wait was about 10 minutes and they took our order while we waited outside which was a great call because it was at our table within the 5 minutes that we sat down.

Amy K.

Yelp
Food is always really good here but this place can get really packed and the parking lot is quite small. Additionally this place can be a little pricier for certain dishes (like the seolleongtang) but the food is really good so it's definitely worth coming back for.

Daniel C.

Yelp
Open for Korean comfort food. Breakfast Korean style starting at 9 AM will full on menu. This time I had bibimbap for breakfast.

Cat N.

Yelp
On one of my days off someone took me here for lunch. We came on a weekday around 1:30pm and there was no wait. There were a few parties inside but not very busy. I was pleasantly surprised that they had lots of different things on their menu. We were given a variety of kimchi banchan and some barley rice drink water. For lunch, we both shared their Yuk-Gae-Jang and Don-Katsu. The Yuk-Gae-Jang was a delicious large spicy beef and vegetable soup that can be asked to be made mild or extra spicy. Otherwise it comes medium spicy which I enjoyed. It was really good and was given with some rice. The Don-Katsu was a perfectly fried pork cutlet that was served with a yummy cabbage salad, miso soup and rice. It came with some house special sauce that was a little tangy and yummy. The food here is very affordable and the service was excellent. The food came out fairly quick and we had no complaints. The inside is very causal and is good for smaller or large parties. I recommend if you want some yummy affordable korean food at a low key location.

Rachel L.

Yelp
I've been here since my college years (around 15 years ago) and the quality of their galbitang and nakjiboggeumbab is still so good. The three different kimchis are great. The establishment is pretty small and the service is prompt but not super friendly. But nothing beats their galbitang! You should always expect a wait. Their donkatsu is delicious as well. We chose to eat outside because we had two fussy toddlers (high chair had a strap broken) and inside tends to have air conditioning but is louder because of the small space, and so spacing is not ample and there's usually Korean channels on the tv, but it is always worth the quality of their food.

Marcus A.

Yelp
Hanyang is a great spot to take someone who wants a hearty Korean soup or a just big portions in general. The service was very friendly and the waiting list when by really fast so there was no complaints on my end. They start you off with side dishes so you have something to eat while waiting for your food came out. I ordered the spicy beef soup which came with noodles and shredded beef. This is my personal favorite Korean soup but they're known for their beef rib soup. The beef rib soup has a big giant piece of meat on the bone still. It has a really good depth for a just being a bone broth but it also came with rice which made it really filling. The only complaint I have is parking because this place has a small parking lot and can get crowded very quickly.

Breanna B.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this restaurant on yelp when looking for a restaurant in the area and it was the best decision ever! I've been trying to look for a delicious spicy cold noodle in OC and I think I've found the one!! It's so refreshing and perfectly spiced and the texture of the noodles were just right. The veggies were a nice addition to make it even more refreshing. The cold noodle soup was delicious as well and wasn't too sour. The bibimbap was so flavorful, but very spicy!! The staff were nice and attentive and there were a good amount of seating in the restaurant with a cozy ambiance. Would come back!!

Nhu-y P.

Yelp
The food here is so good. Love the galbi tang, jaechae is good too. Katsu is good and good portion to share :) Bibimbap is yummy as well. Service can be a bit slow but not bad.

Sherri L.

Yelp
I was so disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered total three soup. One was the short rib soup, but it was so greasy fatty and the meat to not fall off the bone, very disappointed, not worth it will not go back. as you can see on the picture how fatty it was not worth $25 .

Darryl Y.

Yelp
Broth was amazing. Beef bones were tender with the perfect amount of meat. Noodles were chewy and complemented the broth. Solid 4.5 stars and worth the wait!

Samantha T.

Yelp
Han Yang is my go-to spot for Korean comfort food. I'm not Korean, but the soups are so delicious. My family loved it. My personal favorite is their Donkatsu. The fried pork cutlet is paired with house made coleslaw to cut through the greasiness of the meat. I order it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. On top of the delicious food, the service is amazing. They serve the banchan soon after being seated, so people have something to snack on before their meals arrive. They make sure to bring out the food in a timely manner. If you're looking for good Korean food, this is a must try if you're ever in the Buena Park area. If you're going for lunch, go closer to opening time because it get packed, especially on the weekends.

Came here after going to the Korean Spa and it was so amazing. Food: 10/10. Got the oxtail soup with beef brisket and man was it delicious. The banchan was also soooo good, we loved the kimchi radish. Service: 11/10. The ladies who helped us were so so kind and always asked if we needed anything. It's great when they come back to make sure we're doing alright. Ambiance: 10/10. Lots of tables available and it was very clean inside. Even loved their custom tableware. Overall, definitely would come back to try more from the menu and to get the banchan :)

Yelp
I'm obsessed with their Galbi Tang. One bowl costs $21.99 and it is LOADED with beef short ribs. The meat is so tender and tastes amazing when you dip it in their house sauce. On top of that, they have some of the best kimchi I've had in a restaurant. Every dish comes with 3 different kinds of kimchi (napa cabbage, turnip, sweet mustard) - my personal favorite was the napa cabbage. Parking: plenty of spots in their free parking lot.

Yelp
Name - Hanyang (한양) is the former name for Seoul from ~1392 to around 1897! Location - Freestanding building situated along Orangethorpe, which used to be an A&W drive-in. They have their own parking lot with a limited number of spots. Atmosphere - Casual and relaxed, with a good amount of tables inside. Menu - Fourteen different Korean soups, noodles, and rice dishes. Plus pork cutlet. The three side dishes (반찬) they have are napa cabbage, diced turnip, and sweet mustard kimchi. Food - Ox Bone Soup AKA Seolleongtang (설렁탕): The thin slices of brisket were lean and tender. Good amount of salt and green onions on the side, which you can add based on your flavor preferences. The broth wasn't lukewarm, but the temperature could be higher. Beef Short Rib Soup AKA Galbitang (갈비탕): Fall-off-the-bone meat! A savory serving of glass noodles, meat, and clear broth that is filled to the brim. The egg yolk garnish on top was a bit paltry. Dumpling & Rice Cake Soup AKA Tteok Mandu Guk (떡만두국): Fulfilling! Lots of plump, juicy dumplings that do not disintegrate when you pick it up, each one holding its shape. Combined with chewy rice cakes, this was comforting!

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE the ox knee bone soup here. It's packed with cartilage and tendon--two of my favorites. While I've had to wait a few times when coming with smaller parties, the wait has never been too long. Their kimchi is also amazing. Plus, there's usually a decent amount of parking available around the restaurant.

Yelp
Han Yang is my favorite place for galbitang! Service/Ambiance: Their service is decent. Usually not the best for anyone that's not Korean but still okay. The inside is very cozy and the airoma of the soup is adds to this. Food Consensus: spicy sautéed small octopus bibimbap / naomi dol-sot : 9/10 I like how spicy and the saucy the dish is. The octopus is the perfect texture and the runny egg over all of it is amazing. I love this with white rice. korean bbq beef bibimbap / bulgogi dol-sot : 8/10 This is a solid beef bibimbap. It has everything a good bibimbap needs. I think it's good for sharing but I wouldn't eat it alone. beef short ribs soup / galbitang : 10/10 The galbitang is what I come for! The broth is beefy yet light and it's the perfect comfort meal. I love dipping the meat in that sauce they give you and having a spoonful of soup and rice. It's the best. The kimchi and other banchan dishes are very fresh and delicious. All the food I've tried so far is good. Definitely check it out when you're in Buena Park.

Yelp
My mate and I came here because we'd been craving Korean food on a Sunday, especially during the rainy weather we've been having, and Han Yang was perfect! This also happened to be one of the few Korean restaurants that was open on a Sunday. Conveniently located walking distance from OC's newly recognised Korea Town, we stopped here before making our way around the area. There was a bit of a wait with lots of Koreans waiting in line (which is a very good sign) when we arrived - it was about 30 minutes until my party of 2 were seated; you put your party count and name down on the piece of paper by the front of the door, and a member of the staff helps coordinate who seating based on availability. You can sit indoors or outside - thankfully the latter has heat lamps to keep you warm. Upon being seated, we got the refreshing & cold barley tea and the usual banchan offerings (nappa, radish, turnip, and sweet mustard kimchis); we ordered: - 쟁반비빔냉면 (Bibim Nangmyun): Spicy Mixed Buckwheat Noodles, Cold buckwheat noodle with 'House Special' sweet spicy sauce and chopped lettuce with sliced cucumber and toppings of boiled egg & roasted sesame. $20.99. Pro-tip: Don't wait too long to cut and mix your bibim nangmyun; pour over the oil and cut it right away so that the noodles don't stick to one another. - 육계장 (Yuk-Gae-Jang): Spicy Beef & Vegetable Soup, Traditional hot spicy beef soup, tasting buttery without actual butter addition, is pre-marinated with julienne brisket & variety of vegetables beforehand, served with steamed rice. $19.99. The portions are extremely generous - enough for two people - and the pricing makes sense. Loved everything. The servers are all lovely and kind Korean ladies and boys who will refill your kimchi until you're blue in the face. Excellent service; very quick and attentive. My mate and I were eating our yuk-gae-jang first and didn't mix & cut our bibim nangmyun, so one of the servers came over to ask if they wanted us to mix it because we weren't familia with it; we had to share with them that we were just being slow to getting to it as we wanted to finish the soup first (since we were a little cold) - really appreciated how kind and considerate they were. There's a free parking lot that's a part of the restaurant, but if you can't find parking in the lot, there's plenty of free street parking. Excited to come back and try more of their menu items, and promise to cut my bibim nangmyun so they don't think I'm inexperienced! Note: They have two summer-only noodle dishes that I am soooo ready to come back and try - the 콩국수 (Kong Guksu) and 물냉면 (Mul-Nangmyun). This is now my go-to for Korean comfort food; it's truly a classic, no-frills menu with great options and quality dishes!

Yelp
Grocery shopping weekend. We wanted to make an attempt at gamjatang and needed Korean ingredients. This meant H Mart. Our favorite one is in Buena Park and to save time, we decided on eating breakfast out there before shopping. My wife did her usual Yelp search and found Han Yang which was opened early. We found parking in their small lot and stood patiently inside until a waitress was available. We were seated once a table opened up and were given menus and cups for cold barley tea. Without asking, they brought us plastic spoons and forks for our kids and a high chair for my son. The inside was nice and clean and the was a waitress busy refilling banchans. We ordered an intestine Sullungtang, a galbitang, a doganeetang, and a manduguk. One of the waitresses immediately brought out our banchans of fresh kimchi, radish, and two other side dishes. They were ridiculously fresh and well-seasoned. A little while later, our piping hot bowls of soup arrived. We customized the broth to our liking (with green onions and salt) and dove in. The broth was flavorful and complex with pork and beef notes infused in the clear broth. Somehow both light and rich. It paired well with the medium grain rice that it was served with. There was a generous portion which made sense why the price tag was high. The kids really enjoyed their manduguk and were saddened when they ate all their large dumplings and our glass noodles. Han Yang was perfect for the rainy weather! But it also happened to be the best Korean soup we have ever tried. The food and service are Han Yang is healing to the soul. I wish we lived closer so we can come here every weekend.

Yelp
TL;DR: If you're a fan of lighter-tasting Korean soups then you've found the spot with their Galbi Tang! Otherwise, you might want to peruse their other options. parking: - this restaurant is located in a very small parking lot but I had no trouble finding parking in the morning. wait time: - zero service: - fast and attentive. food: [Worth It] - unlimited banchan: the kimchi and radish were a bit too sour for me but I enjoyed the pickled mustard green and the daikons. - instant coffee dispenser: very affordable and surprisingly tasted very good for instant! [Good to Try Once] - Galbi Tang: this was huge and a shareable option amongst 1 other person. The meat fell off the bones and tasted well cooked. The soup itself was lightly salted and would taste bland to the American palate. I could see this soup being a great option to have for sick days.

Yelp
Best beef rib soup I've ever had in my life. It's a little hidden treasure in the area. Food is authentic and different from other restaurants. Ambiance is very homey feeling. The servers are always nice and explain things well. I recommend everyone try the noodle salad, whatever the name is.

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite before running some errands. The workers weren't the friendliest but served our table well. I ordered the Bibimbap and it was alright. I wish it had more meat. They also declined to give me water for some reason. I don't mind that they serve you tea, I just wish I had the option to get water instead. Interesting place.

Yelp
Delicious Korean food. Excellent service ALWAYS. If you can't find parking in the lot, park on the street.
