10 of Montreal’s Best Casual Japanese Restaurants | Eater Montreal

"From Yann Levy (also behind Biiru) and chef Nick Liu (formerly of Toronto’s DaiLo), this Old Montreal izakaya is inspired by Kill Bill’s ‘Crazy 88’ fight scene (well, at least in the decor). It’s a fun space with neon-lit flourishes, and great for large groups. Firm favorites on the menu are tender marinated duck heart yakitori skewers and “KFC” (konbini-style fried chicken served with a aji amarillo aioli)." - Tiffany Chan

10/10 Recommend! This place is amazingly cozy. They always great happy hour deals but even during regular hours they offer great food at a reasonable price given the area. The staff is always phenomenal and very attentive. I ordered one of their drinks and it came with a blue berry garnish, I’m high allergic, our server took it and out of an abundance of caution got me another drink because the menu didn’t specify what berries were mixed in the cocktail. When I got my tab he didn’t charge me for it, which I was expecting because my mistake cost them product. They have always done well with accommodations for food allergies.

Hidden Gem!! My daughter found this place and it was two thumbs up.. Fun and relaxing spot. Good drinks and delicious food. Great spot for Happy Hour. My girls and I had a great experience. Attentive servers. Will definitely go back!

Google
Hanzo delivers on every level; amazing food, attentive service, and a laid-back, welcoming vibe. The rotating anime playing on sidewall projectors adds a fun and unique touch to the atmosphere. We tried the ramen, rolls, and curry chicken, all were absolutely delicious and clearly made with care. Each dish had bold, satisfying flavors that really stood out. If you’re in the area, definitely swing by during happy hour. Great deals and even better food; you won’t regret it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — A Hidden Gem for Foodies and Anime Lovers Alike! After an exciting night at the K-Pop Demon Hunters event, my friends and I decided to keep the vibe going and head to Hanzo, and let me tell you, this spot did not disappoint! I had never been before, but my friends promised good food, anime vibes, and a great atmosphere. They undersold it. From the moment we walked in, I was hooked. Hanzo’s aesthetics are absolutely amazing, a perfect blend of modern, moody lighting and bold anime-inspired decor. Every corner is Instagram-worthy, including the bathroom, which has a super cute mural featuring a mash-up of classic and new-school anime and live-action favorites. Whether you’re seated inside surrounded by cool art or enjoying the fresh air on their stylish outdoor patio, the vibe is on point. They’ve truly thought of everything. Now let’s talk about the food and drinks, because wow. I had the ramen and the sticky ribs, and both were a straight 10/10. The ribs? Absolute perfection. BBQ’d just right, fall-off-the-bone tender with a sauce that hit every note: not too sweet, not too tangy, just the ideal balance of bold, smoky, and savory. The ramen was equally impressive. The broth was rich, flavorful, and comforting, and the pork was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I could’ve eaten a second bowl. (Okay, maybe I tried.) I also had a cocktail with Midori, pineapple, and egg whites, can’t remember the name, but I’ll definitely remember the taste. Smooth, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. Bonus: Hanzo has really great happy hour times and prices! If you’re looking for delicious bites and drinks without breaking the bank, this is the perfect spot to swing by after work or before a night out. The value is just as impressive as the quality. The service? Top-tier. Our server was kind, attentive, and made sure everything came out hot and fast. What truly stood out was the presence of the general manager, who came over to chat with us. Super friendly, down-to-earth, and clearly hands-on with the team, the kind of leadership you feel in the flow of the restaurant. Love seeing management genuinely involved and supporting their staff. The overall atmosphere is chill and welcoming. The music was modern and upbeat but not too loud, we could easily laugh, chat, and still vibe with the playlist. It felt like the perfect blend of cool and cozy. Bottom line: Hanzo is more than just dinner, it’s an experience. Whether you’re an anime fan, a foodie, or just looking for a unique and inviting spot to hang with friends, this place delivers on all fronts. I’ll definitely be back.

Google
Great place to come and have drinks and sushi. Their happy hour menu is great and is all day Sunday and Monday. The environment is lively and the music was hopping.

Google
The menu is simple the happy hour is fantastic and the atmosphere couldn't be more intimate. I've come here several times with my wife. It's cool that they run anime(In a classy non neck beard way) and other seasonal movies in the background. If they can maintain this formula they will continue to be successful.

Google
A late night sushi place? What!?! I was all in. I was super excited to try this place! When we got there, it seemed pretty cool. Anime playing and good music. We arrived at happy hour and I must say, the drinks were impressive. We also enjoyed the edamame. Our waitress was sweet as well. However, we left very disappointed. Our order never really came through. I ordered the Hanzo ramen and my husband ordered sushi. I received my ramen with a fork as there were no spoons and my husband never got his sushi. After multiple times of asking for our sushi, we just never received it. The ramen was ok. Not impressive enough to return for it. I would have loved to have tried the sushi though. I’m no influencer. Just a simple mother who loves good food and looks for nice places to be able to go to late, after putting the kids to sleep for the sitter. I don’t think we will return. At least not for the food.

Google
First time at this spot. Food was really good. Drinks were even better. They had so many creative choices and the happy hour deals were solid! Vibes here are also solid. Our server Sebastian on point and great to chat with.

Yelp
Hidden gem on Broadway (near 410) Great decor & bartenders. Prompt staff with delicious sushi & upscaled bar bites like tender tebasaki ribs etc Indoor/outdoor & bar seating available. At night a friendly dog guards the door from bad vibes

Yelp
Hanzo is one of our favorite date night spots. We've been fortunate to get a table almost right away most times that we make the trip out. The atmosphere is unmatched - cozy, modern, and plenty of art and anime to look at. They have screens showing anime and movies on opposite sides of the restaurant. Onto the food. Highly recommend the twice fried wings - we love the yuzu lemon pepper flavor along with the side of Lon Lon ranch. The sushi selection is great too - my husband loves ordering the dragon roll. I ordered ramen the last time we stopped by. I felt that the individual components of the bowl were great but I think the tonkotsu broth is a little too rich to really "bring it all together". I think they'd benefit from offering a shoyu-based broth. The menu is changing so they are doing away with the bao board which is disappointing! But always looking forward to what they'll come up with next. Definitely check this place out :)

Yelp
I would highly recommend Hanzo for a night out with friends or even date night! My friends and I came on a Friday night for happy hour and had a reservation. There is no host table and you seat yourself so I highly recommend making reservations if you plan on coming on the weekend because they tend to get really busy. Service is decent, however it does take a while to be acknowledged after sitting down but food/drinks came out fast after that. Our waiter also made it very easy to split the bill 6 ways when some people ordered certain things for themselves. There is a nice patio outside and they do play movies or games inside for entertainment. There is a small parking lot in the front but a bigger one hidden in the back. We ordered almost one of everything off the Happy Hour menu and enjoyed them all! On top of that, everything is super affordable for HH! My favorite things were the *agadashi tofu, *pork gyoza (not pictured), and the *nigiri. I got the 'One Punch Love' cocktail off the HH menu and thought it tasted like sweet fruity champagne. I probably would not order the spicy tuna roll again as it was drowned in too much sriracha mayo. Just a warning, the spicy edamame is also very citrusy which was okay but a bit unexpected. For affordability and the vibes I would definitely come back to Hanzo again.

Yelp
I came here with a friend for happy hour and we ordered two appetizers and some sushi. The food was excellent! Really good sushi and a great price. The happy hour prices are very reasonable. I love the setup of the bar too! Plenty of outdoor seating, cool ambiance indoors, clean restroom, and plenty of parking. Hanzo manages to create a cool downtown kind of vibe outside of the inner city. I definitely want to come back again soon.

Yelp
Hanzo is located in Alamo Heights and has Happy Hour all day Sunday, Monday & Tuesday- Saturday 4-7. I've dined here two times and it was night and day from the first visit. The atmosphere is great, drinks are great and food is mid. My first visit I ordered one drink, dumplings and a sushi roll. Service was decent and enjoyed the happy hour prices. My second visit was a terrible experience. I know it was busy but the server dropped off a menu and never returned. I asked another server for water and it never came. I decided to place my order at the bar and kept having to bring my drink/food items back to my table. Didn't mind that but would've been nice to know that from the jump. Overall, it's a nice spot to enjoy HH for a light bite but service is hit or miss. Peace.

Yelp
Heads up u can sit where ever u want !!! Waiter well.... i will give him the benefit of the doubt bc he was also serving this loudest drunk bday party table (oh but i was living for their tea... honey that bday was spilling her lore) so yeah we just didn't get a chance to hear recommendations but this is where idc like EVERYTHING is so so so good! and SO WELL PRICED.. honey we will be returning and its kinda hidden so as my fav queen likes to say "THIS IS A HIDDEN GEM" forgot to mention we went during happy hour but things were already cheap in the regular menu! Sake bomb 3.50$ got meee gooood and only way i drink beer! my friend got a mock tail and loved that they had options for them to drink! they said " oh they keep it juicy juicy" and well yes! food: i got like edamame and yeah, they were a little bit too limey it was ponzu, but I didn't mind it was just different. Next time I will be definitely trying the spicy version. got the happy hour 210 roll and honestly, that stuff was really spicy so the Serrano got me good. also got fried egg rolls the pork and honestly were not my fav but i would skip next time. Next, I also got the Bao platter pork belly and chicken curry and it was so yummy only wish the pork belly was a bit softer and not like crispy as the fried chicken ! but still super yummy. will come back to report about the cocktails and other sushi rolls!

Yelp
Returned for HH again and was able to snag an inside booth this time. Though it was extremely busy, the servers and staff were definitely working hard to keep customers happy. We got the fried tofu and vegetable roll this time. We loved the vegetable roll so much, we ordered a second one. Drinks were also refreshing and tasty, as always!
google avatar

Keisha R.

Yelp
Happy hour is a really good deal. Good selection of drinks and food on the menu. The lemon pepper wings are crispy. The tofu dish and cucumber salad is good. The ribs are so tender and pull right off the bone. The potato salad that comes with it is horrible. It's just chopped potatoes and vegetables. No "binding" agent like mayo or something. The edamame with lemon pepper is unique and good. The foxtails are nice. Food comes out fast but our waiter just kinda forgot about us and we needed more drinks and he just never came so when he did we just got the check because the moment had passed. It's a great after work or date spot. Dark and low lights. But also pretty lively.
google avatar

Yelp
Go for the drinks, vibe, and live music if on the right night. Food is ok. My ribs were sooooooo frickin tenderrrr, but oh so salty. So, I'm hoping it was a one off. We got the spicy tuna roll and fish's texture was too mushy for me and kinda of room temp. My second time getting sushi. I wouldn't get again. Loved the guy performing that night...Joshua Summey. Cool voice and interacted nicely with the crowd. Love the outside area. Inside is cool and vibey as well. They have reverse HH starting @ 10 pm
google avatar

Yelp
This place is one of my favorites when in SA. We came for a midday Saturday happy hour (3-7pm) and were able to grab bar seats. The low lighting set the perfect ambiance, and conversation among the establishment wasn't loud. For drinks, we had the spicy pina daiquiri and rhubarb g&t. Both were very refreshing, but the daiquiri stole the show! For starters we had the firecracker shrimp, which were hot, crispy and served with a perfect sweet chili sauce. For main entrees we had the sticky ribs and tempura shrimp roll. Both were really good. They also have HH all day Sunday and Monday!
google avatar

Mya B.

Yelp
I love this place for their late night happy hour! They have good cocktails and sushi along with some shared plates. It's really cute on the inside too, they always have anime playing on the projector! The only thing is, sometimes, it's hard to find seating. It's a cool place to enjoy some drinks and apps!

Caroline B.

Yelp
I've been to Hanzo before this experience and I absolutely loved it. The wings are incredible, edamame, egg rolls, sushi, drinks, and the ambiance are all great. Service is hit or miss. This trip was a miss. The ramen was absolutely disgusting, I was really disappointed. The broth was not rich, or even warm, the egg was cold in the middle, and beaten to hell on the exterior. The pork belly was great but I couldn't take more than two bites. Save yourself $13 dollars and skip it.
google avatar

Jose G.

Yelp
I showed up to Hanzo on a Thursday night for some drinks! I was quickly greeted by the staff and seated. I really love coming here because of the chill vibes on the outside patio. I waited a couple of minutes for Happy Hour to start at 10pm. Such a great concept! I ordered up some drinks from their wide variety and enjoyed the night. All in all, it's a great place to meet friends, catch up on things, and drink some tasty beverages!
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best Happy Hours in SA!! Bar bites are delicious and drinks are even better!! Great service, these are some of the best bartenders in all of San Antonio!! If you haven't been here yet...you are missing out!

Yelp
Have I been living under a rock or how come I didn't know about this awesome place? My friends and I were looking to go out for drinks and one of them suggested Hanzo. We got there towards the end of their happy hour and the place was PACKED. Their happy hour is all day on Sunday and Monday, 3pm-7pm on Tuesday - Friday, and 5pm - 7pm on Saturday. Their happy hour includes both a drink and food, which makes sense why the place was packed. For my first time I decided to go for a bottle of wine and ordered a couple of their happy hour appetizers. I think from everything we ordered my favorite was the pork gyoza and something I would not order again is their spicy tuna roll. The pork gyoza were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The spicy tuna roll was topped with some sort of sauce that made it very sour. The menu says it's siracha but I highly doubt that is what they used. Overall, we had an amazing time and the staff was fantastic. I would definitely come back for happy hour and check out some of their other food items!

Johnnie Linda F.

Yelp
Outstanding food, drinks, atmosphere, service is top tier. Multiple happy hours and all day on sundays.
google avatar

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Had drinks for happy hour, and we truly enjoyed it!! Our waitress was super nice and explained the menu thoroughly. Their happy hour deals are amazing! The inside is pretty dim and cozy. There's also outdoor seating Had the hashira martini and it was so tasty; really liked the lychee flavor. Also tried the hanzo daiquiri, which was refreshing and sweet! Will be back for happy hour again and to try some food items off the menu!
google avatar

Miranda R.

Yelp
My crew comes here every Thursday for Happy Hour. It's our go to place. Get the 210 roll and the Dr. Daisy with a shot of vodka. Sushi won't disappoint
google avatar

Briana B.

Yelp
Hanzo's reopened a couple of weeks ago after their renovation, and when I got there early, it was already packed. They have different animes playing on all the TVs, making it a great spot for anime fans to enjoy a meal while watching their favorites. I tried a few of the spicy piña tequila house shots, and I really liked them because they were unique. I didn't get a chance to try the food, but my friends couldn't stop raving about it, so I'm guessing it's great!
google avatar

Kiasha A.

Yelp
Came here on a whim, and arrived 2 minutes before opening. Within 15 minutes, the restaurant was full!! Therefore, highly recommend setting a reservation or coming early. This is a great place for drinks and snacks. This restaurant carries a smaller menu featuring more sushi and finger foods. The drinks were strong, yet tasty. I enjoyed the dimmed lighting and opened layout. Overall lovely atmosphere, great place for dates or catching up with friends. The food - great. The drinks - great. The venue - great. 10/10

Michelle P.

Yelp
So convenient that they deleted my poor review. I will keep posting. This place gave me terrible food poisoning. Possible bad handling of the fish and filthy bathrooms..
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
Local Japanese gastro pub. Part of the Mahoney Bars inventory; located in Alamo Heights. Happy Hour is BANGING! Not bad prices and app selections. The din though? Oy vey, you can hardly hear yourself think. Cocktails are strong and flavorful. Took a VERY long time for two vodka drinks; a vodka soda and a vodka gimlet. Didn't order off the happy hour drink menu as all the choices are super syrupy and sweet. Apps are good but tonight they were def overcooked. Too bad as I think the food is pretty delightful here. Didn't snap any food pics this time so I've got nothing pretty for you this time. Lots of outdoor seating as well. A great neighborhood addition.
google avatar

Travis R.

Yelp
We came on a Sunday, and found that they have happy hour all day on Sunday and Monday. The waiter was really nice, the ambiance is great. The noise level in the restaurant is just right; you can have a conversation at a normal tone of voice and not have to worry that the people at the next table are listening to everything you say. Also, we only ordered off the happy hour menu. The food was delicious and the drinks were strong.

Adam C.

Yelp
Great service, food, and drinks! Nice chill atmosphere! All day happy hour Sundays and Mondays!
google avatar

Marcela C.

Yelp
I will sadly have to write a bad review. Our server, male with a ponytail must be new because I have never seen him before and he is terrible. I asked about the Bao Board and asked about the Curry Chicken. He said the Chicken was bad and that he personally only liked Pork. Well as the customer I don't eat pork. I asked for the Chicken wings and wanted them to be extra crispy. They can't do that. The wings are pre-made. What? Gross and why can't they stay in the fryer a bit longer to be crispy ? Oh because they are probably microwaved. After this I was no longer excited to eat. At least have servers that pretend to like the menu and actually like serving. This guy acts like hates his job and is bothered that I am asking questions about the menu. He ignored us most of the service. Super disappointed. Also the emo girl with the baby bangs is terrible and has a huge attitude problem.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks, love happy hour at Hanzo. Actually got broken up with here once and was not even mad about it

Brianna M.

Yelp
4/5 tempura shrimp roll 1/5 firecracker shrimp 1/5 hanzo ramen 2/5 gyoza 1/5 garden roll Service was attentive and ambiance was nice but food was not up to par.

Brent J.

Yelp
A somewhat hidden neighborhood bar with great sushi. Generous portions make it a good value. They get busy so service can be a challenge. Relax, be patient and enjoy yourself.

Yelp
There are so many things that stand out in Hanzo and that make it a worthwhile visit, that I decided to list them in order of popularity for me: Food: I have visited Hanzo more times than I can count. The menu has changed a bit from when I first started to now. This time around I had the steamed edamame $5, which was a fairly large portion and pork bao $9. They were both fairly good. Some of my friends complained that the bao was cold, but I had no issue with either of these items. In fact, I have always found their food to be pretty appetizing and delicious. Happy Hour: Hanko has two, a regular one, all day Sunday and Monday; 5-7 Tues - Sat, and a reverse one that starts at 11pm until closing. Drinks: Artisan cocktails with a twist that are creative, enjoyable and good. So far, my go tos are the Punch Drunk Love $6, which is a vodka fruit infused drink and the mojito $10. Anime: There are two screens playing anime all night long. It gives the place an interesting look and feel. Location: Outstanding location in the Alamo Heights area, but what makes the location stand out is that is it hidden in a small one story building, which reminds me of dr. offices. Ultimately, Hanzo is one of the places I will revisit without an issue and that has great food, drinks and atmosphere. For sure, one I truly recommend.

Victoria M.

Yelp
Great food, good drinks, intimate spot. Would definitely recommend this place. Great for date night.

Yelp
Terrible service! We went in for a late night bite and drink, when I say our espresso martinis were so bad and not at all tasty (so disappointed) before we were looking forward it it all day. The servers never seemed to care about what we needed or wouldn't even stop to hear what we wanted literally continued walking while we were talking to them. 3/10 service and bartenders need a training class on the weekend cause idk what kind of drink that was!
google avatar

Vivian R.

Yelp
Came for a late dinner and it was delicious. The service was fast and waiters were friendly and polite. I would come back to try more of their sushi rolls. The open bar and open concept of the place made the atmosphere very cozy.
google avatar

Alexa J.

Yelp
Such good happy hour! Shrimp tempura roll is my favorite. All the staff and bartenders are great. Cute ambiance inside. Small happy hour menu, but still good. The veggie rolls are oily, do not recommend.
google avatar

Caitlin T.

Yelp
All day Happy Hour on a Monday? Yes, please!! This anime inspired hidden gem is a must for Happy Hour and/or late night drinks and snacks. Their happy hour menu prices are unbeatable with a variety of food and drink options. I think we ordered just about everything off the bites side of the happy hour menu and weren't disappointed by any of it. They have indoor and outdoor seating, fun Japanese & anime style decor with anime playing on tv screens.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, cocktails and some unique dishes - all VERY VERY GOOD. Very fair prices too! It's feels like a quaint Japanese bar' restaurant. It was creatively decorated for the season as well. Will return!

Yelp
I was there with some coworkers and hearing good things it was naturally pretty packed, but the outside seating was empty yet some of the tables had some water on them, no issue I was going to just go in and ask for a towel. When I went in, there were three men talking behind the bar I asked one for a towel, He turned around and rudely told me "I'm talking" caught off guard. I stepped back and waited for them to stop. They finish and he starts to walk past me, I ask him "before you go, can I get that towel" he then told me in a very stern tone, " That's what we're talking about " I assumed he meant getting us seating, which was not even what I was asking for. Wanting to improve the service at this establishment, I asked for his name he said "yea" and kept replying with such. When he would not give me his name I took a picture (so the manager who would know who I was speaking with) they then took offense to that and proceeded to kick me out. Simply put, they were protecting an employee. Being with colleagues on a work outing I've never felt so embarrassed and treated so unprofessionally. I was not disrespectful nor was I disruptive, our verbal engagement was kept at such a minimum it's astounding that I was kicked out for taking a picture. Law states we have no right to privacy in public spaces, that's why it's perfectly legal for them to have cameras in their establishment. Yet no one has an issue with that. The only ones who have issues with it are those who are doing wrong and don't want retribution for actions. I was kicked out to protect a rude employee.

Yelp
Figured to give Hanzo a try, being theyre one of the few places that have happy hour until 7p. Really enjoy the vibe of the place. It was a little loud but not too loud to where you can't have a convo or enjoy the music. Can't stand going places and I'm constantly re-enacting Dave Chappelle as Lil Jon. "Whaat?!?...Whaat?!?....Oookkkk!!" There is outdoor seating available as well but you have to be a special type of person to be sitting outdoor anywhere in San Antonio these days. Happy Hour specials are legit. Ordered (several) sake bomb(s) and the Mrs ordered the Punch Drunk Love. It looks "fancy" but that drink was done well. The name says it all. Also, had the happy hour Old Fashioned because that usually how I rate a bartender. OH-FISH-AL!!! Our server was great. She checked on us regularly without being interruptive. She offered insight on menu items and just was overall a nice person. We kept it light with a few of the happy hour bites. Tried the pork gyoza, firecracker shrimp, and the spicy tuna roll. All were great. The presentation could've been better for the food but that just me nitpicking. Sorry no pics of the roll. By the time it came out we were well into the happy of happy hour and was getting to it. Great visit, great experience, great spot. Will definitely be returning.
google avatar

Yelp
I got two different sushi rolls, both were spicy and very tasty . I also had the twice fried wings, edamame, and gyoza. I really enjoyed the appetizers. I like sharing the apps with my friends and having many to choose from. Food is quality, atmosphere is lively. Service is fast and friendly enough. I want to come back and try the bao buns.
google avatar

Micaela B.

Yelp
Consistently good, just disappointing that they're often out of items that I want! Service is always great, and they sometimes have some kind of live music outside! All in all a favorite of mine and will continue to return
google avatar

Crystal L.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times but tonight was the worst service. Bartender took forever to acknowledge I had sat down and I saw another customer experience the same. The two bartenders were constantly on their phones and just chatting with each other. My Jetsam roll lacked flavor even with shoyu and wasabi. Took forever just to get someone's attention to close out my check. Unfortunately this seems to be a common theme amongst restaurants and I assume that's why they are failing. Not worth the price to eat out anymore.
google avatar

Yelp
Ambiance was quite dark initiate for date night tucked away right off Broadway. The service was quick very friendly and informative. The food tasted great and all hot and fresh. Interesting combos for the sushi flavors presented very pretty
google avatar

Truc N.

Yelp
The vibe is super fun and intimate here! Sushi is just okay. They don't offer soy sauce (at least they did not for me). Rice is a bit too heavy and not seasoned. The bao wrappers are probably not made in house. They fall apart when you open them up. Baos are also pretty bland, we ended up dipping in the sushi sauce. Drinks were amazing and staff was nice. I'd came back for drinks and hangout, but will eat before hand!
google avatar

Savanna R.

Yelp
Their wings and drinks were great! while sushi was average at best for the price. Ambiance was very cool but service lacked unfortunately. Overall just okay definitely would consider visiting again if in the area

Yelp
This is so good. The food is amazing service. Amazing ambience amazing. Literally everything is so great here it is like my favorite place.!!!!!

Yelp
Went back again to my favorite bar as I heard they updated the menu. Inside is a bit dimly light and loud but you can still have fun! You can see the same two big screens that'll show some classic or new anime on the screen, unless there's a sports event going on. The staff is still great and attentive when it comes to ordering and helping you pick some items on the menu. The new menu has new drinks and added a mocktail section for anyone who doesn't want to drink. The menu follows a theme if you want to take a guess at it. I ordered the Summer Sukuna drink with a chicken Katsu curry. Best thing I could have ordered. The drink is fruity but is accompanied with a smoky rosemary that entices your senses. As for the curry, best thing they could have added! I was sad when they took away the Tori katsu bowl, but having this and more options to the buns and sushi menu made me so happy! The place added more variety with great tasting food options. At the end of the night, I ordered an Usagi's Day off drink (mocktail) and it was the perfect drink to order for me. Enough to sober me while still feeling like I was drinking with my friends. Overall, great experience to try the new menu! Come check it out while you can!

Yelp
I came out here for happy hour with some of the boys a few weeks ago. The atmosphere was decent, but the food was mediocre, and the prices were steep for the food quality. I'm saying this even though someone else picked up the tab for us that night. The happy hour appetizers probably only tasted ok because of the alcohol we consumed. Everyone else in the group seemed to love that place, hence, why they chose it. Maybe it was an off night for the kitchen, so I'd at least give it another chance.

Yelp
First time here & met up with some friends for a few drinks! The cocktail list was pretty good, from what we tried, and the sake was so good. It was pretty busy for a friday night but the vibes were perfect. Good/ okay music, and two different shows playing that was definitely a plus. The server was great and patient as we all had separate tabs open. Would love to come again and try the food!

Yelp
Very cute spot to stop in for a quick bite and drink. They always have great music playing and the bartenders are always on point. One of my go to places for ramen and gyoza!

Yelp
I went to Hanzo for the first time this past Tuesday to meet a friend for some drinks after work. When I first arrived, I saw the sign for it but didn't directly see the entrance as its a bit hidden being in the middle of the complex. Luckily, I found the entrance easily enough after a minute or two! Once inside, I noticed it was darker than I expected but had a nice ambiance. During the week at least, it was seat your self so we chose to sit at the bar. The menu is done via a QR code and they had a great weekday happy hour and a wide selection of beer, wine and cocktails. The menu shown via the QR code is very different than the one I had seen online before arriving. The bartenders were very friendly and happy to help make drink suggestions. The bartender we chatted with even helped us pick a place for dinner as we wanted something a bit different than what was offered on the menu. We ended up settling on cabernet sauvignon and a Nat 20 which is a cocktail from their Hanzo House menu. The Nat 20 has Jameson, Creme De Banane, Strawberry and lemon - it was excellent and perfectly sweet! I would definitely come back!
