Really enjoyed dinner here. The food was absolutely outstanding. We made our reservation at 745, which would allow us the opportunity to stay for the entertainment, or not. At the door, they explained to us there is a cover charge for anyone staying for the entertainment. The charge goes right to the artists, so we did not mind paying.
The host was dressed like Billie Idol; very entertaining. We were seated at a bar top, with a decent view of what would be the stage later. Our server was out quickly. We ordered some craft cocktails while we perused the menu.
For cocktails throughout the night, we had the Thyme after Thyme, I Lava You, The Gin Wigmore, Beatle's Juice and New York State of Mind. All the cocktails were visually pleasing, strong and delicious.
For an appetizer, we shared the mussels pomodoro. We absolutely love mussels and this serving was fantastic - large portion, lots of sauce and delicious crusty bread to soak it all up.
For dinner, we shared the GOUDA burger and the chef featured pork chop. Both were awesome. The pork chop comes with mashed potatoes, but we asked for the risotto instead, and they substituted it with no extra charge! For my side with the burger, instead of fries, I asked for the HAOS veggies, which was a melange of broccolini, zucchini, carrots, and rainbow chard. I was not disappointed! It was the same vegetable side that came with the pork chop, and we ate all of it.
Now, for the entertainment, I can't figure out a way to know who or what will be the entertainment. So we did not know what to expect. I had seen some pictures of silk ribbon dancers etc but the entertainment that night was a bit over the top. When I saw the host, and recognized her from southern nights, I already had a feeling about what we were about to experience. As it turned out, there was a fabulous singer, who proceeded to get naked as he sang. Honestly, he was more attractive with his clothes on, so I just listened and stopped watching. The second act was a gal who lip synced her way through a beyonce song while she did a strip tease down to a C string (look that one up, you won't be able to unsee it) and nipple covers. I kept thinking there can't be less underneath what she already has on, but layers kept coming off. She was definitely curvaceous and very confident, shaking everything on her body to the beat. i applaud her boldness. The third act was a contortionist; very interesting and did not get naked! She was super strong and her body moved in ways I have never seen, outside of cirque du soleil stuff. Incredible. The fourth act, was a trans woman who danced like she had real broadway experience. Solid dance moves. The getting naked down to a G string with man parts and nipple covers, was not exactly my thing, but I was enamored by the way she moved on stage. Very talented.
So overall, I'd say dinner and drinks were phenomenal. The entertainment was not good or bad, it just wasn't my taste, but I could appreciate certain elements of it. Service was impeccable and the overall staff had such an energy about them. I would definitely go back; I'd like to try brunch. But I would be more cautious about the entertainment based on the company I might bring with me.
