"Kiaha Kurek was known for her successful Hawiian food cart business, Hapa Howie’s. She served dishes her uncles and father taught her while she was growing up, like mochiko chicken and Hawaiian mac salad, as well as dishes she misses from Hawai‘i, particularly poke." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Delicious food, fast service, and friendly owners. I frequently get the machiko chicken, which is a great combination of sweet, savory and salty. Many of the meals come with rice, Cole slaw, and tuna mac, all of which is delicious. The cart is tucked in the back of the Piedmont food cart pods off Killingsworth St, and can be easy to miss if you're not looking for it. But the food is awesome, and it's definitely worth finding!

Loved this food cart. Food was delicious, sauces were awesome, and the gal who worked there was super nice and conversational (Stephanie). It was good to have a nice conversation with someone after being locked up in quarantine for so long. Thanks for the delicious food and for being kind and friendly in a world that needs it!

Awesome owners, awesome food! Some highlights from the menu are the Mochiko chicken, Kalua pork, spam musubi, and a killer Mac salad. This is the most authentic plate lunch you can get in Portland. They even sell fresh made malasadas!

This was the worst hawaaiin I've had in PDX. Overpriced, underserved, and the shoyu chicken tasted of nothing but salt and had rock hard pieces in it. Even the ginger sauce didnt have flavor. There was no sweetness in what is supposed to be a sweet dish. Cant believe this place has high reviews right now.

Hapa Howie’s has the best Mochiko chicken. They will also go above and beyond to make sure your food is hot and fresh when being delivered. Will continue to order from them as long as they’re around!
