19 Distinctive Lamb Dishes to Try in NYC

"On a stretch of East Williamsburg bordering on Bushwick, Eastwick executes reliable American dishes with a tinge of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavor in a woody, comfortable room. The generously sized lamb burger, a steal at $16, has a piquant spice blend and comes with a harissa-based dip as well as fries or a side salad." - Paul Schrodt

17 Superb Shakshukas in NYC

"EastWick is a gourmet American diner by way of the Mediterranean, an unexpected delight on the edge of Williamsburg and Bushwick. The shakshuka at brunch fits the bill: eggs in a tomato and bell pepper sauce with an uncommon topping of parmesan cheese and arugula." - Paul Schrodt

Google
It's one of my favorite Chinese food places to order from, the food is always good.

Google
Some days are great and other days are not good at all. Today I would have given less stars but because the order wasn't wrong and the timing was before schedule I gave you 3 stars. The vegetables rice was a zero today. It was too wet and mushy. Everything else was good.

Google

Google
Our go to Chinese place in the area. Consistently awesome, hot, delicious, timely, and the people are friendly and efficient. We usually get the eggplant in garlic sauce (extra spicy) and boneless spare ribs (they make them slightly on the caramelized side which is 👌🏼). Have tried other things too and have rarely been disappointed. Ordering several dishes for 2 people is never over $30.

I used like eating from this place until I ordered fried chicken with sweat n sour sauce on the side.. The chicken was good but I kept smelling mildew or a moldy scent and it was coming from the container the sweet n sour sauce was in! Very disgusting and I lost my appetite and threw the food away.. Examine your food closely guys.. Im not ordering from them anymore.

Google

Google
So far the best in the area. I ALWAYS order the beef n broccoli but with garlic sauce. Only thing is the cook most times makes it with regular instead of in garlic. Fam loves shrimp with lobster sauce. Their fried rice shrimp pork veggie etc. Is all good. Dumplings and fried wontons are good too. Their fried chicken is average but not bad. Don't forget the shrimp rolls with hot mustard, a must try, I'm obsessed. That hot mustard gets rid of a cold about to start. 🤪

Yelp
The place doesn't look appealing but the food is decent! Their fried dumplings are amazing! Also the price and the service are excellent!

Yelp
Have been ordering here for years. The food here is just alright. Something for a quick take out. The fried rice is bland and yellow. The brown rice can be hard and crunchy. Before the pandemic there used to be seating but not anymore.

Yelp
1st time grubhub ordering from this place. ironically for the person who answered my call from the restaurant to be so fluent in English their communication was terrible. an hour n half waiting for my order and they don't even give an update on wether they sent it out or not. they said the manager handled Grubhub orders they will call back and never did. 30 mins after speaking to the person from the store i called back and they were closed now my kids are starving and I have to reorder food somewhere else.

Yelp
I've been ordering from them since the pandemic started and this week I wanted to try something different I ordered shrimp chow mein and I received shrimp and onions in white sauce with green onions really that's not chow mein but lesson learned stick to what you know

Yelp
I don't get the 1 star reviews. This is a solid American-style Chinese place, for those times that is just what you need. Everything tastes the way it should and everything is fresh. Delivery is prompt. The lunch specials are massive - about a pint size of the main plus a heaping amount of rice, plus soup or soda. I wish there was some more onion in the rice, but they are actually generous with the protein.

Yelp
Very good cheap Chinese food. I prefer this place over the nearby Faith and Grace Chinese restaurants. Not as greasy. Rice is better in my opinion.

Yelp
There is good "bad" chinese food and bad "bad" Chinese food. Happy garden is the good kind!! Roommate and I just moved to the area and have been looking to try the nearby restaurants. We tried happy garden last night and it was exactly what you want from an American style Chinese restaurant. Nothing fancy but tasted good.

Yelp
Very nice food and taste. And most importantly, the price is so adorable!!! I do wanna order from here every day instead of cooking by myself. The chicken wing is a must! It's my favorite here :) Also, the staff are friendly and they do offer quick delivery. Worth a try!

Yelp
This place has really bad Food, it's not that great! They're really rude, the employees threw my money like it I'm some sort of animal. They definitely need to be closed down, the tables is dirty

Yelp
This spot is right across the street from my apartment. It's so close that I can actually see it from my kitchen window. It's your typical chinese place. Nothing really too out of the ordinary. They have the lunch specials that are pretty cheap. What do I recommend? General Tso's anything. You can even just get deep fried tofu that's been drenched in this sauce. It's pretty good. They are open late and it's cheap. Do I go here when I wake up at 3pm on a Sunday? Yes.

Yelp
Just moved to the area, as in... today. Too tired to go buy groceries and cook so googled "Asian food" in the area. Happy Garden was the only thing I could find with consistent reviews AND when I called and asked, confirmed they do deliver. Ordered the General Tso and Sesame Beef combos. The bill was only $15 AND we got a free Coke with the order. The delivery was blazing fast (less than 10 minutes) and the food was SOOOOOOOO GOOD. I highly recommend this place for its delivery and quality of take-out.

Yelp
Happy garden's food is plain. Their rice is so bland, their pork is so slim, their chicken is all the same just depending on what sauce you get. Their food needs a new and better taste. I go there when I have literally no other option of food.

Yelp
out of all the Chinese joints on my street, Happy Garden is my go-to. it's your typical "american chinese take out"... but there are a few things about this place that i find enjoyable at any GCS (ghetto chinese spot): - iced tea in a soup container (it's like crack and a cavity-creator) - crab rangoon - fried chicken w/ french fries - butterfly shrimp - teriyaki chicken/beef - everything in GARLIC SAUCE - hot sauce & ketchup besides the basics i mentioned above... this place ACTUALLY fries up a good fried rice, sesame chicken and pan fried noodles. the owners are nice, the orders are always done in a jiffy and the iced tea crack drink is the best on Graham Avenue.

Yelp
If I could give less stars I most assuredly would. This place is horrible. The food is actually not horrible (except when it is) but the service is absolutely atrocious. I can't believe I used to frequent this place, it looks like the aftermath from a bomb inside or at least like they haven't renovated since they opened which I gather was sometime in the early 90's by the looks of the place. The service is horrible they frequently botch orders and are consistently rude treating their customers as if they're doing YOU a huge favor just by serving you. Oh and delivery?!? Forget about it. The nebbishy little guy that does their delivers is monosyllabic at best and I don't believe it's because he doesn't have a command of the language. I honestly believe that he thinks everyone that he delivers to is beneath him. Give him a tip and off he's gone without the slightest acknowledgment of your kindness, forget about any show of actual gratitude. In the spirit of being completely forthcoming I stopped going to this place a while ago but I felt that a review had to be written to let the world know just how bad this place is. My sincere hope is that they go out of business and that we get another quality establishment to replace this one. This place sucks.

Yelp
My mom wanted cheese wantons and they said it was in the Crab Rangoon? Anyway, I didn't try it but she was the only one that did. Needless to say, she got food poisoning from it and has been throwing up since this morning. They're delivery service is pretty good but now I'm a bit skeptical as to ordering anything from there anymore.
