The Best Karaoke Bars In Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Cost: Starts at $20 per hour for up to 5 people Buford Highway’s Happy Karaoke isn’t new, shiny, or high tech. The private rooms look like a tattered basement den, and the Korean snacks are reminiscent of microwaved kid meals (although the spicy kimchi pancake is a winner). You’re here to sing, so what’s important is that the prices are reasonable, and the song catalogue is regularly updated (flip to the binder’s back pages for the current chart toppers). Just stick to the drinks here, which range from canned soda and bottles of soju to liquor-chaser combos that you’ll mix yourself in plastic cups like you would at a frat party." - juli horsford, nina reeder

Happy Karaoke - Review - Buford Highway - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Everything about Happy Karaoke seems a little dated. We think we saw that same plaid sofa in a Golden Girls episode, and you’ll flip through the laminated sheets in a giant binder to find that Annie Lennox song you forgot the name of. But prices are reasonable (starting at $20 per hour for a private room), so we get why this Buford Highway spot remains a longtime favorite. Happy Karaoke also regularly updates their catalogue with current chart toppers (rest your weary hearts, BeyHivers and Arianators). And when your performance of “One Moment in Time” makes you hungry, the spicy kimchi pancake is good enough to put the mic down for a few rounds. Other than that, stick to the drinks here, which range from canned sodas and bottles of soju to liquor-chaser combos that you’ll mix yourself in plastic cups like you would at a basement party. video credit: Nina Reeder Food Rundown Dumplings These ground pork dumplings taste like they came straight from the freezer to the air fryer. But they’re not horrible if you’re really hungry. Shrimp Fried Rice No. Just no. Mushy and tasteless. photo credit: Nina Reeder Kimchi Pancake This is spicy and pretty good. And it’s not too soggy, so you can hold a slice in one hand while you flip through the binder to find your next song. photo credit: Nina Reeder Fruit Platter Another easy order if you just need something to munch on. The fruit appears fresh and likely sliced-to-order, so no oxidized or overripe brown spots." - Nina Reeder

Not a whole lot "happy" about it. We had a party of 11 people come in. We were greeted with an employee and the owner. Full disclosure, absolutely no issue with the employee. You can tell he was just doing his job. When we went into the room, we were told by the employee that he needed to do a "bag check." For what? You'll see in a second. All of our members went through the bag checks, and one of our members had a bottle of water in her purse. No big deal right? Wrong. This triggered the owner to demand the bottle to be disposed of. A completely full bottle of water. Naturally, the member of our party said she would just take the bottle back to her car. THE OWNER OF THE STORE BLOCKED HER IN THE ROOM AND DEMANDED HE TAKE HER PURSE TO "LOOK AFTER" AT THE FRONT DESK. Again, naturally, the member of our group wasn't a fan of that, and why should she be? Let a strange and controlling man take your purse of valuable possessions out of your view? I'm not the biggest fan of that. So she refused, and insisted that she doesn't feel comfortable doing that and would prefer putting the bottle back in her car and coming back. And that's it. That's the story. We were told to get out, given a refund and we left. 11 customers. A full party of people turned away because of a water bottle. The manager has serious issues. Just a reminder to the owner, your business is reliant on copyright-free instrumental tracks of music you didn't write or create, and a sound system with lights. Literally anyone in 2025 can have the same environment at home or better. Your business is relying on your hospitality, and if you can't do that (and it seems you can't) your business will fail. Hope you can grow some sense soon, but I doubt it.

I celebrated my birthday at Happy Karaoke last Saturday, and while the karaoke itself was fun, the owner’s behavior was absolutely appalling—rude, invasive, and blatantly racist. The issues started when my friend accidentally locked her keys in her car and needed a locksmith. She briefly left to search for her keys, and upon returning, the owner burst into our private room yelling at us, threatening to kick us out without a refund because “you’re not allowed to leave during your paid singing time.” This is a completely ridiculous rule, and when we tried to explain the situation, he showed zero empathy and coldly replied, “That’s your problem.” When the locksmith finally arrived, my sister spoke up for my friend, who was too scared to say anything after being intimidated by the owner’s earlier aggression. Instead of listening, he condescendingly sneered, “Do you not speak English?” This belittling and racist comment was directed at my friend, who is Hispanic, simply because my sister was standing up for her. The harassment didn’t stop there. The owner sent an employee to follow my friend to her car, supposedly to “monitor” her, and even followed another friend into the women’s restroom. His behavior was invasive, degrading, and completely unacceptable. It’s clear the owner is paranoid about people bringing outside drinks, but if he offered a better bar experience, this wouldn’t even be an issue. Treating customers like criminals is no way to run a business, and his hostility—especially toward my Hispanic friends—was beyond offensive. Despite the enjoyable karaoke setup, I will never return to Happy Karaoke. I’ll also make sure to warn others to avoid this place. It’s a shame that what should have been a fun celebration was ruined by such an intolerant, mean-spirited individual.

Owners are very nice. Prices are great, hours are good and rooms are good size as well. No issues with mics or music, but the only problem is that there karaoke list is hugely limited. It doesn’t appear to be updated as often as it could be, and if you’re looking for selection you will more than likely be disappointed. They have snacks and alcohol too, and prices are very moderate. It’s still a great spot and I will definitely be back in the future.

Google
I came here for my sister’s birthday and was so disappointed. The owner is clearly jaded by people who have brought alcohol in and he has made it his whole business to catch people, rather than actually provide respectable customer service. My sister’s friend accidentally locked her keys in her car and when she went out to confirm this, he made a whole deal out of her leaving the business and didn’t want to listen to the actual situation. While waiting for a locksmith, she brought an energy drink in which we mistakenly didn’t realize it was against the rules (we thought it was just no alcohol). The owner busts into the room and grabs the drinks and says she wouldn’t be let back in after the locksmith arrived. I was later able to “reason” with him, but it was an exhausting back and forth. The only solution was if an employee followed our friend to her car and watched the locksmith get her keys out. After an evening full of additional racist undertones, the owner walking into the women’s restroom to check if one of our friends was actually using it or sneaking something in, to the overall tension he brought to this experience, I will not be returning. My advice? If the owner invested half of his energy into being so distrustful of his paying customers into a decent bar, maybe people would actually respect it.

Google
Owner needs to find a new job!!! Came here for a friends birthday and was met with his foul attitude. You can tell the guy is racist, has a very off putting demeanor, and doesn’t have a single ounce of hospitality or respect. There was an unpleasant oder and the place seemed decent enough if there are no other choices but otherwise dingy. Wouldn’t recommend unless you can see past those things, money can be better spent elsewhere.

Google
LOVEEE this karaoke place! Have been coming here for years now, it became a regular thing between me and my friends ever since our first time here! I love that there are private rooms, you can request a youtube room if you want so you have more song variety, they have really good food options, I prefer the smaller platters that the group can all snack on like the french fries and the fruit plate. They also have drinks which I think the peach soju tastes the best. The owner is always very sweet and friendly, I always see the same two guys working there and they’ve always been extremely kind and courteous and hospitable. I always recommend this place when I meet new people!

Google
This is a great place to come to for families or friends. They stay open until 3 AM. When you first walk in you decide whether or not, you would like to enjoy food and beverage during your session. You order all of your food up front. They also have alcoholic beverages. I tried some type of Asian vodka that was flavored. It was pretty good but quite a lot so I would definitely suggest sharing one bottle. It seems like just a normal mixed drink however, it is very strong. I ordered the Ramen which was super super spicy but delicious. I also ordered the lemon pepper wings which wear a bit salty, but definitely seasoned. I also ordered hot wings. They were good as well. We really enjoyed singing the songs we were not at all the stars by any of the other parties in other rooms. You pay by the hour to hold the road the music is quite loud and the microphone has built-in reverb, which makes you sound better while you’re singing, which was pretty cool. You can adjust the lighting to make it more intimate or you can make it brighter. Definitely plan on coming back with friends. Follow my Instagram @rosadivina29 and check out my highlights for more places I’ve visited!

Google
Came here for a birthday and the owner was on ten!! clearly racist. He spoke politely to a white family and then proceeded to have an attitude with our group and then assumed that we were underage drinking when my friend and I went to the car (before we ever entered the karaoke room) to get her some Tylenol. Also over heard him telling a separate big group that they were “singing too loud”….. at a place where you’re meant to be loud!? Will gladly not be coming back.

Yelp
Five stars for the business for two reasons 1. Affordable and good bang for your buck. Food and drinks are priced amazingly as well as the hourly rates. 2. The staff is VERY concerned for your happiness and you can tell they put a lot of love Into this place. This is a great spot for the weekly karaoke gathering and regulars are treated well. Although placed in a rather cozy part of town, this humble karaoke spot makes up for what it lacks in grandeur with generosity, kindness, and a kind of casual charm that is hard to beat. This is a kind of place that convinces once a month singers to go every week. Parking is a bit hard to work out but there is a Plaza nearby I'd you can't find it behind the karaoke spot. The selection of drinks and food is pretty good and well priced but I have to say the most standout thing is the service. The service is undeniably amazing. The easy to recognize face of the owner and Co is a welcome sight anyday and as I said before, regulars and patrons are treated so well. Amazing place for the casual get together.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday celebration. Probably wouldn't come back unless I was more prepared (eating and drinking before hand). The rooms themselves are a great price but they make up for it in the cost for food and drink. I understand the whole concept of up-charging for convenience but sheesh! Bottom shelf liquor at mid or top shelf prices! 20 - 25 piece wing prices for only 10 - 12. I still paid the prices for food and liquor because we're here for a good time not a long time. I'm not one to start any issues either but would I do it again? Nah.. All and all I still had a good time! Seems very family oriented and a great place for some clean fun karaoke!

Yelp
This place was cool. I'm not sure what I expected but it was ok. The room was a decent size. I don't know if they offer food or drinks. No one really came to check on our party. They do need to update the music and the videos. They didn't match at all. I would probably not go again. It was a fun experience tho

Yelp
I come here every single year for my birthday and any other celebration with a sizable group of people. It is always a fantastic time. The prices are very affordable for the rooms. The food is actually pretty good. They always bring complimentary fruit to the room too. And honestly, the bottle prices aren't bad compared to other places with bottle service. I will forever come to Happy Karaoke!

Yelp
Awesome time, very accommodating staff and a wide range of tunes. I would highly recommend

Yelp
Such a fun way to do karaoke. They a great selection of songs and artists to choose from. I wish they had more musical options. They have private rooms and you don't need a reservation. Parking is not great and you can easily miss the place. I would go back for something fun to do tho.

Yelp
Reviews could be better here but it was the only place with private rooms open on a Wednesday night, so my work team came here (with no reservation) with 9 people, no reservation. Service was wonderful. The man (who reminded me of my uncle and many Asian dads) was kind and attentive and understanding. We ordered so much food and so many drinks, he let us sing longer than we paid for and kept giving us food for free, including cut fruit (which we did not order)--as many know, cut fruit is an Asian (and latino) parent's love language, so this meant a lot. We also enjoyed chicken tenders, fries, kimchi fried rice, mixed soju, beer, pineapple juice and lots of water he kept bringing out! We loved the design on the sofas and had a blast. We were slightly disappointed that they did not have Dancing Queen, though they had 9 or 11 (I forget) other ABBA songs. They also could've had more Disney and Taylor Swift songs, but they had a nice variety. The device to queue songs needed to be pointed at the tv but was otherwise easy to use. Cannot recommend the service or the place more highly. I just got back to my hotel at 3am and needed to write this review giving a shoutout to this wonderful family-owned establishment. Will be back when I'm next in Atlanta!

Yelp
It's a very unassuming place and could use a facelift but that's what keeps this spot affordable. They charge per hour depending on how many people there are in your group. I believe they gave us the medium room for 15 people (since there are 12 of us) - an hour charge is $50. We opted for two hours and got food and drinks (which is an additional room charge). We had so much fun and was a blast! They are super strict with bringing outside food and drinks though. If you have bags, they will check before you enter the assigned karaoke room. You also can't go in and out of the karaoke place. Other than that, I would recommend this and would go back again. There's ample parking as well.

Yelp
SO MUCH FUN! Huge song selection (wish there were more country options though) and great sound system. We will be back for sure.

Yelp
Happy karaoke isn't the best place to go if you're looking for a fancier karaoke spot, but it is very affordable and fun spot for a great night out with a group of friends. You don't really have to book a reservation if you have a small group. I haven't had the food here so I can't say anything about it but they do offer alcoholic drinks. My friend and I got a soju to share. Overall, we had a great time and I would definitely come back!
google avatar

Joyrina H.

Yelp
Nothing very fancy about the place. They do have a selection of songs to choose from. The only thing is the songs sometimes didn't keep up with the words so it was throwing us off. The furniture is very old and the appearance reminds me of a hole in the wall. The Parking is awful and not very lit area. They have very strict rules but overall it is affordable as we stayed for 2 hours.
google avatar

Dianne Y.

Yelp
We always come here for karaoke! They keep the songs very up to date. I just hate that you can't bring your own water bottle in.
google avatar

Angela D.

Yelp
Great karaoke spot! Affordable and had a blast. They were very attentive to our party.

Kenzie M.

Yelp
I can't rate this place high enough! We went two nights back to back in a row bc we had such a good time. The service is quick, friendly, and really really kind! They always give snacks and the fruit taste is SO good, I don't know how they get such fresh fruit! Get the fruit platter and DONT skip it lol. It's so reasonably priced and such a fun way to spend a few hours. Tip your staff! This place isn't swanky/fancy but it's exactly what you're looking for if you and your friends want to hang out and just focus on singing. Great drink selection. Don't be rude to the workers, they show up and are so kind. Also the hours are so great! Can't wait till we're back in Atlanta to come again!

Yelp
I'm really in shock right now , my friends and I loved this spot because their food especially their battered chicken wings. I was here LITERALLY LAST MONDAY everything was cool so I brought my friends again the a week later. We asked him "hey so what comes with a bottle?" This man said NOTHING so we're all confuse like huhhh it always comes with a fruit platter but it all depends depending whose working I guess. So then we asked how much an hour he said $30 wait wtf. It was 20 last Week !!!! He said no. So at this point I feel like he trying to play us. That's really Upsetting when we SPEND MONEY every time

Yelp
Overall this place was good and our party had fun. Now for the details. Parking: There are a few parking spots by the side of the building. All additional parking is in a lot behind the building and across a small side street. This spot is strict about their rules, which is understandable. Luckily I read reviews in advance so I had an idea of what not to do. Do not bring outside drinks. Do not go back to your car for food or drinks, especially not alcohol. If they suspect you're drinking in the parking lot they will kick you and potentially anyone you're with out. Fair enough rule. They also, understandably, do not want people standing on their tables or benches. Now, for the karaoke... Like others have mentioned before, the selections are a little limited. I never found a song I was really looking for so I just provided "backup" for others. lol There were times I would look up a very popular classic artist and either finding nothing at all or an obscure title I had never heard of. Our group just made the best of this, but definitely don't think you'll find Dolly Parton's Jolene or much classic 70s rock. Our group previously arranged to bring some cupcakes and such for the birthday celebration but we also ordered waters, soju, more snacks, food, etc. We did have quite a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to work the remote and queue up songs. The owner had to come assist us many times in the first hour or so. The remote was intimidating. A couple of times Korean songs got queued by mistake. You can cancel songs if you queue the wrong one. But by the 3rd wrong song popping up in Korean our group just had fun and went with it trying to sing along. I'm certain the owner thought we were crazy doing this, but there was one person in our group who spoke some Korean and he insisted on leading the song as the rest of us tried to at least keep up with the chorus. I'm not really a karaoke person. I was mainly here to cheer on my friend for her birthday. But I had a good time and our group seemed to as well. I go to a lot of dive bars so I would compare this karaoke bar to that. Would I come here again? If my friend wanted to I would.

Jessica L.

Yelp
This is the go to spot for my friends and I for any karaoke night. They have almost all of the drinks you can ask for! After spending a certain amount, they will also provide you with a plate of fruit in the house! Service is always nice and fast.
google avatar

Ishamar R.

Yelp
This is my go to karaoke spot! They offer English remote control and they update their system with new songs! They do have different size room depending how big your group is. The parking is right behind the gas station or if it's full, you can park at the plaza next to the karaoke building. Sing on!
google avatar

Val S.

Yelp
Do not go here owner is rude, when you book a room and buy bottles no karaoke hours come with it and No fruit tray . They want to know how many exact ppl you are coming with even if the room hold 25 people . If you make reservations for 19 and have 21 they will make you pay extra . That do not make sense. This place is MONEY HUNGRY and don't care about their customers.

Wade v.

Yelp
A person in our party accidentally made reservations here intending to make them for another place so there we were. The good - I've read others saying the customer service was bad but while there was a very dour faced older man working there, we mostly dealt with a younger man who was pleasant and helpful. The beer selection while not huge, was better than the other place we usually go to. The room was clean and well kept. The Mediocre - The bathroom needs TLC. The Bad - When we first walked in and the person pointed out the song books it was instantly obvious we were going to have a problem. We just couldn't have known the extent of it. One binder by song title and one by band name as usual but they were 1/3 maybe even 1/4 the size of a normal karaoke place. Easily the smallest assortment of songs I've seen at a karaoke place. Then we began looking for songs. Ugh. I know the selection is often based on bands popular in other countries and not so much in the US but the selection was lacking and often very bizarre for a US based business. If you like US hits from the 70s & 80s, better go somewhere else. Like Rick Springfield? You have to sing Jesse's Girl a Capella. The Fixx, Crowded House, Yes. Nowhere to be found. Wanna sing Hall & Oates hits like Rich Girl, You Make My Dreams, Private Eyes, Sara Smile or Out of Touch? You're out of luck. Like Foreigner songs other than the ballads? Happy Karaoke doesn't. But if you like unpopular 80s hair metal! Score! They have an extensive offering of Stryper!!! Yngwie Malmsteen! Helloween! and more! Oddly, only 1 Extreme song, considering. There was a decent amount of newer music and then large selections of Bread and Avril Lavigne for....flavor, I guess. But if you like a large selections of classics from the late 20th in general, you will be greatly disappointed. We made it through three hours and managed to have a good time with what we could find but we probably wont be back. I wish them well but hope they get a bigger selection. We always end our karaoke nights with the End of the World as We Know It...but not this time because they didn't have it.
google avatar

Brii S.

Yelp
It was good for karaoke... really a very outdated business... from the decor to the smell and the dark dreary ambiance in the lobby. We were scared to order food as the owners were not HAPPY like they were burnt out and this is just a job.. we ordered the fruit tray which was very low budget I have never seen anyone slice a banana in six pieces and them put toothpicks in like it was a delicacy... bananas are cheap spare is 2 or 3. Overall we did karaoke but we felt like we were in Al Bundys living room... bring it to 2019 at least maybe 2023 is pricy but step it up!!
google avatar

Cynthia P.

Yelp
This is a great family run place. We always have fun and the drink prices are decent. The music selection could use some help but it's not bad. A great cost effective night out with friends
google avatar

Mick D.

Yelp
Now that was fun. Parking was convenient, using the karaoke equipment was easy, and the prices are right. We had a great time. We went for a quick celebration. About 10 of us descended on a private room. Staff was very friendly. They set us up quickly and explained how everything worked. There are plenty of songs in multiple languages to choose from. You'll find no shortage of things to sing. Ordering drinks and food refreshments was also easy and quick. (Though I would advise eating before you get here.) This place is not known for its food. Happy Karaoke IS known for being a good value for fun karaoke. It's sort of a no-frills approach. Other places have more polish--more flair. This place has heart. And it's a great place to hang with one's friends and belt out some songs.

Michael C.

Yelp
Poor attitude from the staff. Unhappy with the experience. Sad because the rooms themselves are nice.
google avatar

Cierra R.

Yelp
Worst experience ever!!! I came to visit here because I had heard of so many great things so I brought my friends. Very big mistake. Guy working the front was so rude, wouldn't even let us in because "he couldn't serve us because we took to long to come back inside from our cars" just such disgusting behavior to paying customers. Just sad, wanted to have a better experience, hopefully this changes.

Claire S.

Yelp
The man/owner was very rude. Unprofessional and unnecessary. Never coming back here. Save your money and do karaoke at your house. There's cameras in every room and he just sits there and watches your every move. Weird.

Nicole F.

Yelp
We had a group of 16 and had the best time! The employees were friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
Highkey connected to a Citgo Gas station which adds to the strangeness. The owner is pretty rude and does not provide the best customer service. Just gets the job done, but for me being a people person, you can have an ok venue but as long as you are happy and provide that excellent service, then that will shine in my rating and rating. Interiorly, the place could use a good clean/ upgrade. System could change too with the rooms smelling like smoke and groups or people smoking right outside the entrance. Kind of entices me to not even bother to come. The karaoke does have up to date songs, and the prices are pretty good compared to others. If you can get past the external turnaways, then this place can be a reliable and overall good place for you to have fun with your friends as y'all sing your hearts out. I had a lot of fun with my friends and this place comes clutch for last minute change of plans when I am out with friends. However with the rise of many more karaoke places, it has to come to most of us that we would rather pay 3-5 more dollars for a huge upgrade in the experience. With sites like Groupon coming through with coupons for places like Luxor, then this place needs to step it up. Overall would I come back. Yes sure why not.

Madeleine P.

Yelp
I went with friends and had so much fun! There were a bunch of Tik Tok songs and throwback songs so we got to switch it up throughout the night. For $20 an hour between 3 people it ended up being very affordable! The manager was also very nice, he gave us cheez it snack with our soju and told us we had 15 minutes left when our Uber arrived. Would definitely go back when I'm in town again.

Emauni C.

Yelp
The popcorn chicken is not chicken! I asked for a refund, the owner said no. I said can I have extra singing time he said no. I asked for a free drink he said no. It's $20 an hour to sing and there are commercials in between songs that you cannot skip. You can only take one shot back at a time. They make you empty your bags of all food and drinks. I made the best time with my family but the establishment is run down and unprofessional. It looks like a Chinese buffet inside.

Yelp
had such a fun time here, we showed up pretty late around 11:30pm and stayed till it closed, it was such a blast, it's genuinely such a nice place !!

Yelp
It was a dear friends birthday, and I haven't seen her since her last one so when I heard she was doing karaoke for her bday, I had to check it out. I drive by this place all the time (as it is on the way from my house- Sweet Hut), and always wondered how it would fare to the places I have been to (which are near Gwinnett Mall). The parking is sketch as hell- you go around back to an unpaved lot that is shared with no lights and a dumpster (at least I found a great place to dump bodies), but I didn't get mugged on my way in or out- but just a thought for those who are conscious about their safety. The place is an older one, and with that, I am not sure how the pricing worked out (I didn't pay), but I would assume on the cheaper side. I told the guy at the door who I was looking for and he said they were in room 1 (great, can't wait what I was about to walk into!). Low and behold, there were my friends. Room 1 has enough seating for 10 people, and it came with 2 tvs. The remote was more so in english than Korean- so I was able to utilize the "applause" button more frequently. The songs were older, so I couldn't showcase my Carly Rae Jespen skills either- bummer. On the plus side, the scoring system at the end of each song seemed to work- which I have not seen before- so that was cool! It looks like they have a full bar here, so I would suggest checking it out! If you want more old school karaoke, this is the place to go- don't expect a club like atmosphere- more like a pimped out cafeteria. All in all, I was in the presence of friends so it made it worth it!

Yelp
Happy Karaoke is a basic, no-frills karaoke joint on Buford Highway. For the price, it can't be beat. $20 per room per hour, no matter how many people are inside of the room. When compared to a place like Karaoke Melody 2, which charges $6 per hour per person, Happy Karaoke is a great deal. However, you do get what you pay for. Happy Karaoke isn't as new or has as nice of equipment as Karaoke Melody 2. The couches are uneven and worn and some have holes in them. You won't find any iPads to select your songs here, just a classic Korean karaoke remote. The remotes come in both English and Korean, but you might get stuck with a Korean one. If you're not sure what to do, just type the number of the song you want to sing into the remote and be sure to press the big yellow button (beneath the numbers) afterwards to get your song placed in the queue. The food and drink selection at Happy Karaoke is overpriced and limited. I once came here when I didn't get the chance to eat dinner before joining my friends for a late night of karaoke. I decided to try the food and ordered the ramen ($5) and bulgogi (Korean BBQ beef) on rice ($10). The ramen was equivalent to eating a bowl of instant ramen that you can find at any grocery store. They added an egg and green onion to spruce it up, but it didn't help. The bulgogi on rice was just that. Strips of beef on white rice with some sesame seeds sprinked on top. While it served its purpose to quell my hunger, it was not very good. So as far as the food goes, do not order it unless you need subsistence. There are many songs in different languages to choose from, but the song selection is smaller when compared to competitors' selections. Unless you're a hardcore karaoke fan, this isn't too big of a deal as long as you are having fun singing songs with your friends. Happy Karaoke is similar to Do Re Mi in Duluth in that they stack several old school CRT TVs together in a grid and have colorful disco balls inside each room. One good thing is they're open very late: 3am on weeknights and 4am on weekends. A good time can be had at Happy Karaoke. It may not be as nice as the other karaoke establishments, but I give it 4 stars for good value.

Yelp
Food is average, but the vibe is super fun!!! Don't let the outside appearance scare you, I've have 2 parties here and they were so much fun!!! That's are also super flexible about you bringing your own stuff in- just not alcohol!

Yelp
With a group of 15 people, we had a lot of fun in this place. I liked the lights, two screens, 2 microphones, private room set-up, hourly rates based on number of people and the music selection (quite extensive). It would probably be more fun if you go with big groups. They offer snacks and drinks (check their menu online) but i preferred to go and eat at one of nearby restaurants to have more choices and a proper meal.. The owner did not look very talkative or friendly at first. But having used one of their rooms for more than 3-3.5 hours with bunch of food and drinks, they offered 30 minutes free which was very nice of them. I definitely had a lot of fun here and would bring friends another time. I am giving 4 instead 5 stars bc the place looked a little outdated to me.

Yelp
Such a great time that I lost track of time with the singing with my friends. The staff accommodation was class, the soju was delicious and the Playlist was great, minus some classical 80's but the rest of their Playlist was still great!

Yelp
probably the worst customer service i've ever had. they were rude from the second we walked in. small selection of songs and watch you like a HAWK. also patted down an underage girl... very weird place.

Yelp
I was a great time... The good... the rooms are intimate and fun to sing your favorite tunes with friends. Drinks are affordable. Fairly clean although i did see a few cob webs. Also the gentleman at tha front desk sprayed an awful scent of deodorizer prior to us going into our room. The bad...at the end of our session we were rushed to leave while we were trying to clean up and package food. Very sour ending to the good time that we were having. The gentleman was quite rude although one of the workers was quite apologetic. It was just sad. All in all would I return??? Probably not...

Yelp
I had a group of 13 for a Saturday night. I wasn't able to get a reservation at Karaoke Melody 2 (my favorite karaoke bar) so I looked up this place. I'll be honest, I was really nervous based on the reviews of bad customer service, but I think as long as you do some research and follow their rules you'll have a good time. I'll be writing this whole review in comparison to KM2. 1. Song selection: 4/5 They have a decent range of American songs, but there were a lot of weird holes in the collection. Example, they didn't have Rocketman by Elton John, and Careless Whisper was listed as Wham instead of George Michael. KM2 has a better selection and I much prefer KM's iPad selection system over the giant keypad and books we had to wrestle with at HK. 2. Price: 5/5 We had a group of 13 for 3 hours and it came out to $120 (I also included a tip), so it was basically $10/person. That's a really good price and we all had a great time. 3. Rooms: 5/5 They're outdated but in good shape. Our room had cushioned benches, 2 large monitors, 2 mics, and a giant table in the middle. I'd say the rooms are in better shape at HK vs KM2. 4. Food: 5/5 Yo listen their fried chicken is amazing. It's $18 but you get a massive pile of chicken. Also the crinkle fries are on point. They also brought us 3 huge platters of fruit for free. Compared to KM2 their food is above and beyond; you could eat a whole meal here if you wanted to (I did). 5. Customer Service: 4/5 Look, they have strict rules here. Don't be late, or they'll give your spot up, especially on busy nights. They don't mess around when it comes to timing. They will kick you out the minute your time is up. They came in at 9 mins before our time was up to see if we wanted an extension. They also called me 30 mins before my reservation to make sure I wasn't going to be late. Don't stand on the table or benches (but honestly, why would they need to tell you this? Don't be a jerk!!). And DO NOT bring in outside beverages. They have signs and warnings on the website. I watched them yell at a dude for bringing in a water bottle and he had to throw it away. They sell water for $1, just don't do it!! I anticipated all of these things because I read the reviews so it was fine and I stayed in their rules. And honestly, the staff was great. Very nice and accommodating. I think they're just used to dealing with rude, drunk a-holes on a regular basis and have to protect themselves. In summary, KM2 is still my favorite bc the atmosphere is more relaxed, the song selection and user experience is better, and the staff are more relaxed. But if I couldn't get a reservation there, I would definitely come back to HK and enjoy it. Follow the rules and you'll have a good time!

Yelp
The owner was very rude. I felt racial profiled. I brought my personal water bottle into the place (which had only water). He asked to check my bag and found my item. I proceeded to ask him why. He told me I could not bring it back to my car without any explanation; I proceeded to ask him for his reasoning. Then, he expressed "since I will not follow his rules, I can have my item back but do not return. After that, he asked to checked my pockets which had nothing in them, other than my phone. I never got his reasoning for checking for my pockets as well. Be careful with this business.

Yelp
First time getting a private room and what fun we had. We ended up paying for extra 30 minutes. The choice of songs could be expanded and sometimes there was a delay between songs and would end up seeing Korean songs and clips, Manager and his son were nice and helpful. We didn't have any food or drinks as we'd just come from dinner. Would definitely visit again but would like more diversity in songs

Yelp
I LOVE this place. I came here with friends to celebrate my birthday & I admit the outside of it looks suspicious but once inside, the host greeted us with kindness & all through the night was respectful and even gave us free cut fruit. The music selection was great, I just wish they had more selections. I'm also a really big fan of Jay Park & since this is a Korean Karaoke bar I just assumed they would have a song or 2 from him but nope. That was a little disappointing. Besides that, the food was delicious, the spicy ramen I could probably eat all day if I could. The tteokbokki was way too chewy for my liking though. The drinks were a little pricey but I was prepared for that because who does karaoke sober? Plus the room fee was SOOOO CHEAP i couldn't complain about the prices for food and drinks. All of it was worth it.

Yelp
This place is so fun! It's right off the doraville marta stop which is convenient and it's really inexpensive for a big group (the drinks not so much but it can be worth it for some liquid courage). We paid for two hours and ended up paying for another. I love the private room because strangers don't have to see me sob my way drunkenly through evanescence and also there's something fun about the old man who works there glaring at you down the hallway when you open the door to go to the bathroom and the sound of a bunch of untalented young people taking on Eminem's hits comes blaring out the door. Go here! It's open late and it's awesome. Also they gave us a bunch of free chips.

Yelp
Came in for a night of fun with a group of 25+, but instead before we even opened the door he saw a member of our group with a cup in their hand. Immediately the mans demeanor changed and rudely told us that we would not be allowed to enter with a cup. Okay no problem. We respect the rules of this establishment. The man at the front did not stop there, he kept having his employee come to our room and tell us we would be asked to leave if we go in and out of the room, if anyone else brought anything outside, that there would be bag checks, etc. Clearly, our group was being discriminated against, and we did not feel welcome. The music selection they had to offer was poor. We bought these concerns up to the manager "tom" and instead of offering alternatives or an apology, he chose to ignore us as we spoke to him. We asked for a refund because we did not even use their service for more than 5 minutes. Please save yourself the money and the trip.

Yelp
Aight here's the run down. Went here for a small celebration, and the gentlemen working at the karaoke spot was more than accommodating. They don't say much, but that's perfectly okay with me. Add an hour? No problem. More soju and snacks? No problem. Music selection is up to date. The space wasn't so run down, and looked pretty hip. The parking, although a bit sketch due to lack of lighting, is available and free. 10/10!

Yelp
Happy Karaoke (not to be confused with Happy Family Karaoke) is located in what is probably the sketchiest lot of land on Buford Highway. We came in not knowing exactly where to park. We couldn't park at the gas station so we ended up parking in a deserted lot. Once we entered, two Korean men stood at the counter. One noticed one two larger Longchamp purses and asked to check our bags. I saw the sign on the wall that said "no handbags" which noted that larger handbags would be up to a mandatory search, at that moment. They took out my Nalgene water bottle full of water and told me they would be holding it at the counter until I left. I refused because I had no idea what they would be doing with a full bottle of water so I went ahead and put it back in the car. I was not impressed with this. It's one thing if they thought I brought in my own liquor or food, but I just wanted to be able to drink my own water and not pay a premium for bottled water. We ended up staying and singing for two hours. The Korean scoring system had us at failing grades the entire time. And we had music majors/Masters in the room! There weren't too many new songs, but we made do, as we usually can with any selection of songs. It was $30 an hour on a weeknight, with no free additional time, which I thought was a little absurd, but maybe prices have gone up everywhere. Overall, not impressed. There are definitely better Asian karaoke joints elsewhere.

Yelp
This is my go to place for karaoke. It's nothing fancy or anything but it's definitely made for a lowkey night. The bottles are expensive but soju is decently priced although they overcharge you 2-3 times the price. If you order alcohol they will usually give you some chips or fruits with it. They are usually opened to 3AM. The owners are usually nice. If you're not a regular they will make you pay for the room upfront. Room rates usually varies on the room size. You park in this sketchy lot behind the building. There's very little lights so it's best you take precaution and bring in any valuables. I like coming here. There's usually rooms and no wait time.

Yelp
Do not ever come here! We paid for 30-45 mins here and he made us leave after 25 and said our time was up. The owner kept coming in every 5 minutes and I mean like BARGING in. The music kept stopping as if the equipment wasn't up to date. It was my birthday so I wanted to have a good time but I hated every second of being there. Felt like a parent was looking over their child or something. Do NOT waste your time and money here.

Yelp
Happy Karaoke is a very racist facility. I made reservations for my friends and I to karaoke. We walked into the door 4mins after our schedule appointment, and they said that they already gave away our room. Yet, people came in after us and were accommodated. Save yourself the trouble, and avoid this place like the plague.
