Google
Fantastic experience at Happy Lamb Hot Pot in Austin! The broth was flavorful (we picked spicy and original marrow), and the US Wagyu Chuck Eye Roll was a standout unbelievably tender with rich marbling that made each bite melt in the mouth. It paired perfectly with the house garlic dipping sauce. Everything was fresh, from the veggies to the noodles. The buffet format lets you try everything without rushing. Definitely one of the best hot pot places in Austin perfect for a cozy dinner or group hangout. The place is clean, service is friendly, and it’s great for groups. Definitely worth the dinner price for the quality and all-you-can-eat variety. Highly recommend I’ll be back!

Google
Ok so I usually never leave reviews for restaurants but this place has changed THE GAME for hot pot places. This hot pot is the best place i have ever been too. The food is delicious. My personal favorite is the shoulder and spring lamb. The meat taste like heaven in your mouth!!! Me and my boyfriend have been here 8+ times in 1 month just because of how good it is. I should also mention how other hot pot places are usually around 100-130$ when just me and my boyfriend go, here it’s around 70-80$ for UNLIMITED soup and UNLIMITED meat. I’m not talking you order 2 plates of meat and then the price goes up, you can literally order however much meat you want or appetizers. The self serving bar has rice, meat, sauces, veggies, seafood. It is AMAZING. Our server is usually Jay and he’s amazing!! He recognized us today from how much we come here he was great! 🤍

Google
I had such a great time at happy lamb! The soup bases were rich and flavorful — especially the spicy one! The ingredients were fresh, especially the beef and seafood. I also loved how attentive and polite the staff were. The dipping sauce bar had lots of options, and everything was clean and well-organized. It's perfect for a casual dinner with friends or even a date night. Highly recommended!

Google
Happy Lamb Hot Pot is hands down one of the best hot pot restaurants I’ve ever been to. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a casual night out with friends or a cozy dinner with family. Also lamb is amazing. Definitely will come back and revisit.

Google
The person I was with wanted to try one of these and it was a good experience. It’s a place that you kind of make it your own. The ingredients you need are there, but honestly, you do what pleases your tastebuds. There were many options to go in the broth and honestly it was a cool experience. The staff was great and patient (we had questions since it was our first time), and they were able to answer everything. I would love to try other locations and compare, but this specific location was pretty good. I did go on a week day during the early evening, so was able to be seated immediately.

Went here on a weekend for lunch. The food was really good and servers were polite and prompt. There were good amount of vegan options as well for my wife including mushroom broth. I had premium meats and wagyu and baked lamb were simply the best. Drinks and desserts are included in price too

Google
Excellent selection of ingredients for hotpot ranging from various vegetables to seafood. There are unique offerings like watercress, lotus root, wood ear mushroom, fish roe fish balls, mussels, tripe, and quail egg. Went with the original bone marrow soup base, get it boiling for a bit and the flavor of the herbs blend into the soup. You don’t need to pair the hotpot with sauce as it’s plenty flavorful. The sauce bar offers the basics for savory or spicy creations. There are also hot prepared dishes offered, the most notable being the stewed lamb (on the bone). The meat quality is good for the price, tender cuts with not an overwhelming ratio of fat to meat. Be prepared to wait depending on what day and time you come.

Google
Happy Lamb Hot Pot is a really great spot for hot pot lovers. With an all-you-can-eat style and very reasonable prices for amazing quality fresh food, there's almost nothing to complain about. Just make sure to join the waitlist ~an hour in advance during peak dinner hours, unless you plan on waiting for grand opening-type times.

Yelp
Went on a lunch date and opted for the premium ($33ish pp), the wagyu alone made it worth it! Happy Lamb shines with its high-quality meat and flavorful broth. We did the half-and-half with golden cabbage (sweet & sour) and spicy broth (surprisingly spicy!) -- both 10/10. While the selection isn't as extensive as some bigger hot pot spots, the focus here is quality over quantity. I'm all about broths and tender meat, while my boyfriend prefers variety and a creative sauce bar. I felt like the broth was so good you didn't need sauce. He's been spoiled with options so wished he had more to choose from. All to say we both left happy and had a great experience. Bonus: they offer non-hot pot bites like wings and lo mein (the wings looked solid!). Don't skip dessert! The red bean sesame balls and ice cream were the perfect finish. Great service all around. Definitely a top-tier hot pot spot!

Yelp
All you can eat dinner around $27.99! This place had the most delicious signature broth! I think they boil it in bone marrow for like 8 hours. The meats were sliced very think and tasted of excellent quality! The staff will promptly bring you any meats you want and there's a wonderful buffet for vegetables and tofu and stuff! There is also ice cream and a drink station. The restrooms are clean and well maintained ! Come here with a group of friends or for when you are super hungry! This is now one of my new favorite spots in Austin.

Yelp
We came here for lunch on a Friday. There wasn't a wait but the place was pretty well packed. The place has a pretty modern and fairly clean vibe. The waiter and the staff are all in uniforms. So they have this vibe of catering good service. It's definitely not a "austin" vibe restaurant. While we were there, the server came and ask what kind of meat we want for our buffet. We only ordered once, but that was more than enough food for both of us. I really like that they didn't need to come over several times to refill the meats. But the down side is that they are not as attentive if we needed something else. But I like that kind of service in a buffet. You grab the drink yourself and anything else. haha. They have buffet bar fills with vegs, meats, seafood and other hotpot ingredient. They also serve cook appetizers, and some cold dishes too. I really like the chicken wings when it's fresh off the fryer. When you're finish, there are ice cream you can eat and also some big of chips too. There are lots of selections. Overall, for 20$ lunch buffet, I really enjoy it. A meal at any restaurant costs like 20$ now a day and that to me is crazy. So I'll be definitely coming back.

Yelp
I'm so glad more Asian food spots are opening up in Austin! I knew Happy Lamb would be crowded on a Friday night, but we decided to try it anyway. We showed up around 6 and there were a few people waiting, but we actually got seated after just a few minutes. This is an AYCE hotpot restaurant. You can choose between their standard and premium selections, but I highly recommend the premium option. The crispy baked lamb shank alone is worth the extra $6. The wait staff came to take our soup and meat orders, and then they had a large veggie/seafood/hot food/sauce bar in the middle of the restaurant. The meat orders came out quickly and were nice quality. There is a massive quality difference between the beef on the standard menu and on the premium one, so again, just get the premium option. The wait staff came back frequently to see if we needed anything else even though they were super busy. For dessert, they had ice cream, sesame balls, and crispy fried rice cakes on the premium menu. Don't skip the rice cakes! They were crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle with a syrupy sugar on the outside. If you're looking for a good hot pot place, this is the one I would recommend!

Yelp
So delicious! The classic hot pot menu doesn't seem like a lot of options, but that's because the buffet has even more options, such as shrimp, fish, and clams. We got the best of both worlds broth and while both were delicious, our party overall preferred the original hot pot broth base. I also love that all of the vegetables are part of the buffet so you can grab as much as you want. All you have to order are your drinks and meat. I will absolutely be back!

Yelp
3.8/5. The meat quality was great (the wagyu & ribeye), but the broth ruined it for me. I personally did not enjoy neither the spicy nor the regular bone marrow broth. The spicy broth especially tasted quite gamey, for some reason. The normal broth didn't have much flavor. I would definitely try their tomato broth next time. The price was actually very reasonable. Not expensive at all for how much we ate. Their other side dishes like the fried chicken, sesame balls, and roasted peanuts were also another highlight for me. Their sauce bar didn't have a lot of options, but I was able to put together a tasty sauce so that didn't bother me. My meal ended perfectly with ice cream, which was rich and creamy. We had 6 people and it was super inconvenient to reach across one another to use ONE hotpot. It would be nice if they had given us two pots or individual pots would be even better. Service was decent overall.

Yelp
Came to the soft opening of Happy Lamb as soon as I got wind of it being open! Arrived early on a Friday and there was already a crowded waiting room and a waitlist. It took about 20-25 mins. for us to get seated, but it was expected as everyone is eager to try the latest spot in town! Some cool quick facts: they offer a small hot buffet of appetizers and Chinese American food in addition to the hot pot proteins and veggies; fountain drinks are included in your meal cost (including hot tea, lemon water, and sodas); there is a classic or premium lunch/dinner option which adds more meat variety for extra cost. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, located in a shopping center with plenty of parking! - Reservations? No, walk-in only but you can join the waitlist. - AYCE? Yes, family-style AYCE hot pot. Everything included, with options to upgrade. We opted for the premium lunch and selected the spring lamb, wagyu chuck eye roll, and ribeye along with the 3 broths. Our favorite broth was the spicy one and the original! Everything had great flavor and they are very generous with the meats. We only made it through 2 rounds before getting full. Overall, I really enjoyed the hot pot and variety. Service was friendly, casual, and quick. There may be a wait but they move as quickly as possible!

Yelp
Came when they first opened and there seemed to be already a line and people who had joined the Yelp waitlist already. I am going to assume they opened early for people to join the list or something. The restaurant is smaller than I thought it would be. The layout of the restaurant is okay, but that drink station is a bottleneck at the location they put it at. I ordered the best of both worlds, which is one spicy broth and one non-spicy broth. Then you put your meal choice; they have the classic and then the premium. I went with the classic because they didn't have some of the items in stock for the premium, and I wasn't willing to pay for it if I wasn't able to get those missing items. I would recommend depending on your party to maybe just order 2 plates of meat first if you have a smaller party, and if you have a bigger one, maybe 3. They bring out a decent amount of meat. As for veggies, seafood, noodles, cooked food, and so on, they are all self-service. You just grab a plate and go grab them from the buffet line. There is also a sauce station as well to make your own sauce.

Yelp
New hot pot place in Austin, but still lots of improvements need to be made. My party of 6 came right at the dinner time opening on a Sunday and the wait wasn't too bad - about 45 mins. The place looked fresh, the booths were comfortable, and there was plenty of space. Unfortunately, the waiter let us know that only the classic ayce was available and out of those meat options, only 2 were available (the lamb and beef). The option for the 3 broth hotpot was also unavailable (keep in mind, there is an upcharge for this option). He let us know that the lunch crowd basically wiped them clean. My group opted for the 2 broth hotpot of the original marrow and golden marrow and loaded up on lamb and beef, but I'm genuinely confused on how a high traffic restaurant runs out of food knowing full well how service will look like on a weekend. The sauce station was really small and lacked so many options. The sesame sauce was placed in the largest container, but I found the flavor to be so bland. The vegetable and seafood options were also really lacking. You had to pick through the ice to find any remnants of seafood and I could count the variations of vegetables they had in one hand. The only redeeming quality was the broth itself. The golden broth had a nice kick to it and the original had good flavor. There is a self serve station for drinks and a freezer with individual cartons of ice cream. The kicker is they still charged the full $28/person dinner price even when most of the options were unavailable. I left feeling underwhelmed and unsatisfied.

Yelp
One of my new favorite hot pot restaurants! They are very new and currently in their soft opening phase so please bear with them but Happy Lamb is a must go. Get there super early to get through faster but they only have waitlist at the moment. We got there at around 6pm and the was already a 2 hour wait time. We decided to stick it out only because there were other restaurants near by we could chill at and grab a drink. We got the premium which is a must get and we got the trio base. All the meats were delicious with the lamb and the cabbage bone marrow soup base being the star of the show! I wish they had more dessert options but I get that most will be too full for dessert (never me lol) but overall an amazing experience and I will definitely be back.

Yelp
SHOUT OUT TO MARY !!!! She's extremely kind front of house kept a smile the whole time through a busy shift !!!! Went to happy lamb yesterday!!!!! Be prepared to wait n give them grace. !!! They r new n working out the kinks They r kind enough to out some snacks n water while u wait They have a iPad to sign in at then u can wait we waited about 1hr n 45 min after being told an hr (not their fault you can't control other ppl eating). It was also soft Opening and freezing outside so what a perfect time for some hot pot The meats were very good The bar to grab the Ingredients to cook had a lot to coose from even some hot cooked items which was cool Great sauce bar Grab ur own drinks (soft drinks , tea, water n sweet tea) They have alcohol to choose from as well More meat/seafood variety to pick from at bar as well as on menus Wish there was more veggie options This place was really good in general Gorgeous bathroom Clean Friendly staff

Yelp
I've been here twice now and have really enjoyed my hot pot experience. The buffet selection is really great with delicious sides like popcorn chicken and braised lamb which seem to change regularly. The classic AYCE option is definitely sufficient, but the premium is also worth it if you want to try the lamb and dessert. The broths are good but I'd warn that the golden yellow broth is quite spicy. Overall, the place is well run, clean and not hot, which are quite important for a good hot pot experience. The price is really reasonable as well and this will definitely be a go to spot for hot pot for me.

Yelp
A nice hot pot spot with lots of drink options, cooked food items, sauces, and plenty of raw ingredient options to choose from! We went on a Saturday night and had to wait an hour and a half to get seats (I came with a party of 12, so we had 6 people per table), but I would assume it doesn't get as bad on a weekday. And honestly the price isn't too bad, but I wouldn't say the premium option was very worth it. If I came again, I would just stick with the basic option. However, when we went, they had run out of the crispy baked lamb shank, so maybe that would have made it worth it, as lots of friends have told me it was really good. I think an important thing to note is that your whole table will be sharing one pot. I've gotten so used to the format of everyone having their own individual pot, that when I saw this layout, I was thrown off for a moment. So everyone has to come together with a decision of what broth to get. You can order two broths, but a third will cost you a little more extra. (I was a big fan of the tomato broth!) But yeah if you're planning on just eating meat, I would just go for the basic option because when you're ordering and ordering, you don't even know which meat is what so I feel like you can definitely get away with the cheaper option. I know we ordered a few rounds of the wagyu chuck eye roll and ribeye but I have no idea when I ate them. Also def recommend ordering more rounds before you're completely dome with what you're eating because it takes the waiters a bit to bring it out. But if you still go for the premium, the crispy fried rice cake w black sugar and the house made shrimp paste are so good! And hopefully they won't be out of the crispy baked lamb shank. And of course, it's always nice to end the meal with some ice cream!

Yelp
Your Yelper Girl here. Happy Lamb Hot Pot was a yummy experience. I've been to other hot pot places that I prefer more due to more item choices. This place; however, offers quality food choices and friendly and fast service. Great place to get a yummy hot pot!

Yelp
AYCE Hotpot in North Austin! Loved my experience of Happy Lamb as it's spacious, good amount of options, clean and brightly lit. The service also comes to check on you and doesn't slow roll you on the meat selection. Not overly pricy either. We opted for just the regular AYCE as opposed to the premium as there was plenty of food to choose from already. There's self serve seafood, sauce bar, vegetables in the bar area where you just load up and come back and cook after you pick your broths. There's also a hot food bar with some standard americanized chinese food, but the chicken wings are very good. Sauce bar is a little light on sauce options compared to other AYCE hotpot i've been to, but it has everything you need (sesame paste, satay sauce, chili oil, etc). The meat quality is also very good. Normally the first round showcases the best meat and it goes downhill from there, but the marbling and quality was consistent throughout the night. For sure you'll leave full!

Yelp
This place is amazing and people know it. We were well aware so arrived 15 minutes before they opened and there was already a wait list. Food was delicious. This is an all you can eat hot pot. Great selection, nice facilities and wait staff was very helpful. Given the all you can eat style, it is very reasonable. Not cheap but very reasonable. Booths are nice and all the buffet areas were clean and well cared for. Great place and we definitely plan to come back!

Yelp
Rating: 3.5/5 Austin was in need of more hot pot options, so I'm glad that Happy Lamb reopened. It used to be on campus when I was still in college, but it closed quickly. My friend and I came on their soft opening day, and we thought that coming at 8PM would avoid the crowd... unfortunately, that's what the entirety of Austin thought as well. We waited almost 2 hours, so there were a ton of ingredients that were gone by the time it was our turn. The space is really nice and clean, and the booths are incredibly comfortable. They were really busy, but it wasn't that difficult to get help or ask for another order. They have a self-serve soda station and strawberry ice cream freezer. You can also help yourself to hot tea. Vegetables, fish balls, and non-meat ingredients can all be grabbed at the self-service buffet bar, but I'm honestly not a fan of these kinds of features at AYCE hot pot because it feels slightly unsanitary and everyone's poked around for the best ingredients and left the scraps behind. My friend and I opted for the premium meat option, so you could pick three broths. We chose the classic bone and mala spicy broths. I thought the broth was just okay; it's not standout, but at this point, I usually judge hot pot places by 1) quality of meat and 2) quality/taste of broth. The meat is pretty high quality, and it comes out nicely on platters. You can pick small and large portions of meat so you're never over ordering. Our waitress was pretty standoffish, but she got our orders in and came by to check in on us once. Because it was also near the end of the day, my friend and I had to wait a while for sauce bar ingredients like cilantro to be refilled. I noticed some of the bowls and plates that are set out to be grabbed weren't clean, so that was another -0.5 from my rating. Overall, it was an okay experience. The long wait is expected given there were more than 30+ parties ahead of us, but they did their best to get everyone in and out as fast as possible. In terms of Austin hot pot, Little Sheep is definitely the best. I can't help but think about other popular chains and how the same price would've been the standard menu price AND there would've been a ton of other appetizer and ingredient options. I recommend going next door to grab boba if you have a long wait!

Yelp
This is a great place to try for cold weather comfort food. I hear they get pretty busy so I got there around 11:10am, they open at 11:30am. We were #8 on the yelp waitlist and got a seat as soon as they opened. There are many meats to choose from on the menu. The staff is efficient brining them out and checked on us several times. The buffet had already prepared food like rice, fried rice, egg rolls, chicken and veggies. There was also a ton of options for the hot pot - veggies, noodles, chicken, beef, fish balls etc. It looked fresh and clean. The spicy pot is flavorful and serves as a decent base for the food. We tried ribeye, lamb, pork belly, all good options. I love all the endless options.

Yelp
Currently at soft opening, so maybe things will get ironed out over time. Overall, a warm and bright place with some really great food and great staff. Premium dinner price with tax and 18% tip =$43.43. Regular dinner price with tax and 18% tip =$35.76. Pros: AYCE meat, hotpot ingredients, and drinks were great. The quality of the meat and ingredients such as seafood, veggies, noodles, and fishballs was good. The crispy baked lamb shank and shrimp paste alone pretty much make the upgrade to premium worth it. The broth was very flavorful and love that we could get a 2 broth option for no extra cost, especially since it is a shared pot for the entire table. Appreciated the staff that came by fairly often and proactively asked if we wanted to order more when our table didn't have many plates from the kitchen. The crispy fried rice cakes were a nice finishing dessert with soybean powder dusting and sweet soy sauce drizzle. Cons: Went on a Monday evening. They did not take any reservations and refused to seat us until the full party arrived, so 10 people were kept waiting in the lobby area while waiting on the one person running 20 mins late. It seems like the tables are also a bit limited, so it may be an extremely long wait for large parties on a non-week day. There's a large room in the back with more tables, but no one was using it. Potentially only for large events. Since we had 11 and the large tables only seat 6, we split into 2 tables, which is fine, but we were also told after the fact that we would only be able to select one meat tier as a group, not separate by table. Would have been nice to know up front. It may also be worth it to invest in some tiered racks to place on the table for meat plates. When the first round of meat for the table of 6 came out, there was barely any table space left and the plates of meat ended up being stacked on top of each other. Would also appreciate at least a second ladle as a communal utensil for a table with 6 people, moreso because there were 2 different broths in the pot, but we had to use the same ladel for both. A ladel with holes would be nice as well so that we could scoop our items without including all the broth. The prepared food warming on the side was very underwhelming. The sesame balls were not warm even they were under the warming lights. The options could be increased. Two of the slots between the fish cakes and noodles were taken up by garlic beef and chicken fillet that could be ordered with the rest of the meat from the table. Personally sad there weren't any tofu skin options as those are my favorite. The large napa cabbage leaves could be cut. There are a couple additional appetizers and orange slices in slots on the sauce counter where they're easily missed. There's a freezer of generic vanilla ice cream next to the drinks. Not the best ice cream, but it's there for the people who enjoy a cold sweet treat. Still a good place I'd go to occasionally if I'm feeling hotpot with a smaller group.

Yelp
I have been a fan of Happy lamb for years because there's a good variety of hot pot ingredients. It basically has all your basics. And it's one of the more affordable all you can eat hot pot places. When I came, I was definitely nervous about the long wait, it was estimated to be about 80 minutes, but I got seated after 10 minutes so that was very nice. I liked the broth flavors and the ingredients were fresh. I would definitely come back because service was good and the interior was clean..

Yelp
Glad to have another hotpot option in town but this location did not live up to my expectations for the franchise. Would love to have an "à la cart" option to give it an edge over Soupleaf. Some pain points: - Soup base is extremely salty (original marrow and spicy marrow). Didn't use my dipping sauce because the food was already overly salted from cooking in the salty broth. - Few meat options (will come back when the "premium" option is available) - Very slow service. Meat orders take a very long time to come out. I barely ate any meat and got full from snacking on vegetables while waiting. This will likely improve when staff gets more acclimated and/or the crowd dies down. Not something worth waiting in line for in its current state.

Yelp
I'm huge eater of hot pot and would say this is probably the best AYCE hot pot in Austin at the moment. The place was bright, very clean and reminded me of hot pot places I've had in China. My group chose the classic AYCE and the meats were pretty good quality. They ran on the fatter side, so would like to try the premium meats next time. The soup bases are delicious. We tried the spicy marrow, tomato, and golden cabbage marrow broth-- the golden cabbage was the table's favorite. The majority of things are self serve at the bar such as vegetables, seafood, appetizers, and drinks-- which was convenient. However, at times it was difficult to flag down servers to order more meat/utensils. We went around 12:30 for lunch on a Sunday & only had wait about half an hour. They also have snacks at the front for you to munch on as you wait!

Yelp
My party of 3 came here just days after their soft opening. At least a 90 min wait for dinner on a weekend. However, we read reviews from days prior, so we knew what to expect. It's in a strip mall, so we walked around and looked at some of the shops to pass time. We all thought the wait was worth it, especially on a chilly night. We got the premium AYCE. The additional few $ for the premium meat selection is definitely worth it if you know how to break even at an AYCE (iykyk). The cuts of meat are better than any of the other hot pot places in the area -- not just fat with a sliver of meat! They were cuts that you would get at an al a carte style place. Impressed with the section at the buffet as well! Had some of the more "unusual" hot pot items such as beef tripe, quail eggs, and multiple types of fish balls. Definitely will be coming back! Service was also not bad considering how insanely packed it was

Yelp
Went for an early dinner at 5pm with some friends and there were already a lot of people there waiting. However the wait wasn't that long you can put yourself on the waitlist ahead of time which was nice. I liked that they had a soda bar where you can pick and choose freely . Overall the food was good but I wouldn't say it was the best .

Yelp
Came on a Saturday for lunch and it wasn't too busy. this was my first time at the austin location and I liked it! had more hot food options than dallas like the lamb shank. however, they don't have the house special soy sauce which was a bummer but the selection seemed fresher! service was pretty bad. some of the servers were just standing around and we had to ask them repeatedly for things.

Yelp
We came here during the soft opening and arrived 15 min early to beat any lines. When the restaurant opened we were all ushered in and there was no sense of order, so although we were the second party waiting in line, they seated other groups before us. We ordered the 3 set broth to try different flavors. The tomato broth was my favorite and had such a great rich tomato-y flavor. The Mala was also delicious but it felt like there were way too many chilli's for how small the portion was. The regular broth was good but a little over salted, as the meal progressed it got very salty for us. We were impressed by the vegetable, meat and seafood options. Our favorites were the lamb and beef, but they never brought out the pork belly we ordered, but we were too full to ask for it again. The hot dishes were decent, the lamb shank was definitely the best. We were not impressed by the fried rice or the friend items that tasted dry and chewy like they had been sitting there for awhile, even though they just opened for dinner. I do wish they had better dessert options as it seemed like some pre packaged desserts. The free soft drink machine and snacks was really nice though. Overall I think they have a lot of kinks to work through, especially with the food. Service was kind and helpful though whenever we asked for something.

Yelp
The service is a hit or miss. I enjoy the food here. The restaurant is pretty clean as well.

Yelp
Came here on the Wednesday and although they don't have a reservation system once they open you can either checkin on their Yelp waitlist or on the tablet at the front near the hostess stand. I got seated pretty quickly after I put my name in the que. I was sat in a booth and waited for my friend to arrive before ordering broth for the table. We ended up grabbing the split broth that had spicy and the base broth. We ordered the ayce premium menu, placed our meat order and went to the veggie/seafood/sauce bar to grab the other items we wanted for our hot pot. Compared to soupleaf the bar is small and sometimes gets hard to navigate when more people come in and it gets crowded. The spicy soup for some reason had less flavor then the OG broth but both were tasty, I'd say pro tip is to strain out all the peppers and other herbs if you want an easier eating experience. There were times throughout the meal I almost ate some Szechuan peppers or a whole Clove of garlic. Other than that this is a really good option for hotpot up north!

Yelp
This is just a review of the waiting. Came in Friday at lunch time around 1:15pm. The wait is about 1hr -1.5 hours. And there is no way of getting inline through the app. Just to share the information so people can plan ahead. I will give an update once I get to try the food.

Yelp
The service was incredible everyone was very kind. I love the options of drinks you can get. AYCE so there's plenty of items to put inside your hot pot & there was lots of fresh vegetables. My only complaint is the flavor of the soups. We got three flavors to try and they were all not good. The tomato broth tastes like canned tomato sauce mixed with water, the spicy marrow broth had no chili whatsoever it actually wasn't spicy at all it was just pure cumin. The soup had soooo much cumin inside that I could not continue eating because the taste upset my stomach really really bad. I love spicy broths so I was fairly disappointed that it wasn't spicy at all just had so much cumin inside. The original bone marrow broth was okay but still wasn't my favorite. Although it is AYCE which is great of course but I feel like broth at a hot pot restaurant is really important and this place was just not it with the broth taste.

Yelp
Delicious and fun all-you-can-eat hot pot experience! The food is fresh, flavorful, and the price is hard to beat. It's a fun, interactive meal that's perfect for groups or a casual night out. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait during busy times--but once you're seated, it's definitely worth it!

Yelp
A great Chinese hotspot buffet place! Very clean and modern, the food was very fresh! The hotpot soup base was authentic and tasty! One of the best hotspots in Austin.

Yelp
This place was great! Service was okay but the food was really good. Lots of different meat options, lamb, pork, beef, seafood, and chicken. There's soft drinks and dessert included in a self serve station as well as 25+ sides available in buffet style.

Yelp
It's was amazing just like I imagined. Great hospitality, very helpful when I need more napkins. All around I felt welcomed! Great quality food in the interior was extremely nice. Very affordable!

Yelp
Insanely good hot pot! The hot bar was a great touch and all of the meats came out fresh! Ana was wonderful and gave us great recommendations! However, my friend and I who came here to eat find it frustrating that we were unable to tip solely her as they do tip pool. Please change this as it isn't fair to your employees or fair to your customers wanting to reward said employees for their impeccable service! P.s, the spicy hot pot base was simply mouth-watering!

Yelp
Meet quality is decent and there are lots of side choices including different kinds of rice and noodles. Broth was ok since they all taste the same. But overall good experience!

Yelp
may be its inflation but i felt its pricey. its a new establishment so the ambience is trendy. i liked the veggies more than the meats. fish fillet is missing. and seafood in general is very limited. i mean. over all i wish they put more stuff on your plate. good thing is this place is packed.

Yelp
Overall I love hot pot so can't hate on the place but there are many options around in Austin these days and feels like this place is not as good as some of the other ayce hotpot places

Jason Y.

Yelp
The AYCE deal is amazing at ~35 bucks. Meat quality is comparable to haidelao. Genuinely impressed!

Yelp
Waitlist was long but expected as we went during the first week of opening. Chicken broth is very good highly recommended. Wagyu meat selection is high quality. Would recommend. Took off one star because there were only 4-5 tongs for each section. I would recommend them have a tong for each item especially the garlic beef and chicken and seafood section. Lastly their sauce section is very limited unlike the other hotpot places around town.

Yelp
Excellent value, welcoming staff, delicious food, and a fantastic variety. Plus, it's a bonus having a boba spot right next door for a sweet treat after your meal!

Yelp
We went on Sunday around 12:30. Although it wasn't too busy, it was impossible to get any service. We order meat 3 times and had to wait long in between to spot our server. Ambiance is good, franchise standard but service is just poor

Yelp
This place is amazing the lamb shack. All you can in meat in the pot. We really like the regular broth. Server made us a great dipping sauce. No better place on a cold night.

Yelp
So happy to see Happy Lamb back in the Austin area! The premium meat package was worth the price, as you get higher-quality cuts. I highly recommend trying their broths. The service was okay, which is understandable since the restaurant is newly opened.

Yelp
Really good, fresh ayce hotpot. Best hotpot I have had so far in Austin, but I've only been living here a couple months. Knocked off one star since the service was lacking a little bit, but they are probably overwhelmed with so many customers at once. Expect to wait at least 1 hour. It takes even longer if you have a large party. But I'm happy with the food. I look forward to coming here again if the wait ever dies down. Give it a try.

Yelp
I understand it's their first week of a soft opening (I went on Day 5), so there will be some issues as they iron out the kinks, but staff all seemed like they were completely clueless with no training. Got there 15 mins prior to open and there were already people waiting inside and queueing up to a waitlist. I was roughly 15 on the list. Opening time, and they start seating people. It took 20 mins to get to me. 20 mins to seat 15 parties is absurd. When I finally got texted my table was ready, I go up to the front and it was... not ready. The hostess was nice but didn't seem to understand the system either, other than only 1 person had an iPad with the queue and they sometimes text multiple parties at the front of the queue at once even though they aren't ready to seat all of them? I specifically requested a table that was more private in the back if possible, but they sat me right near the front right next to the kitchen even though there were other seats available. I get seated, my server Gray(?) looked like he just rolled out of bed and didn't want to be there. Didn't introduce himself or give me a talk on how everything worked, just stood over me and asked me what I wanted. Having worked as a server myself, steps would typically be 1) Introduce yourself and greet the customer 2) Ask them if they have been here before, and if not explain the process 3) Guide them through the ordering process by asking them what broth option they would like, followed by what meat plates they can pick and how many, then let them know to help themselves to the buffet, etc. I got none of that. Was not even asked what I wanted to drink, so I assumed they would bring me water by default. Turns out I had to go up to the machine and get my own water, that was something that should have been told to me. I ordered 3 plates of meat. They came out really slow, one at a time. The last plate came out 40 mins after my initial order and I thought they had forgotten it or took it to another table, but right as I was about to inquire about it, it finally came. I sat for a long time after finishing my plates before anyone came by and asked me if I wanted more, and that was the only time. Even after finishing that 2nd round and sitting there with no food for 30+ mins, no one asked if I wanted more. The buffet had a decent selection of veggies, and the usual frozen fishballs, noodles, seafood, etc along with some hot food selections. Nothing was labeled except for "cooked food". Yes, I can see it is cooked, there is even a heat lamp above it, instead of having everything labeled as "cooked food", it would be better if you had a big sign over the entire section, and the small labels tell what each item is. Area was constantly out of plates despite not being too busy. They had a couple dessert options that were just sitting on normal trays. I've been to other restaurants that have those same dessert options from the same distributor, and pretty sure they should be chilled and not room temperature. Feels like a safety inspection deduction waiting to happen. There were also no utensils for the desserts, not sure what they expect you to eat them with? When I asked the server for a spoon to eat the dessert, he just brought me the same giant spoon for the hot pot... so I guess I was suppose to just use that and eat cake with chopsticks? The food was also disappointing. The meat quality seemed fine, but selection was extremely limited. The hot food at the buffet is something you'd find at a budget under $10 buffet. The chicken wings had the most comically thick and hard batter. The broth tasted like someone in the kitchen accidentally dropped a barrel of salt in it, it tasted like sea water. After I was done I sat there for 30+ mins (no joke, I timed it), before someone came by to ask if I was ready for the check. Did not bother to see if I was actually done eating or wanted more food for the past hour. While I was waiting, I witnessed a server cleaning up a table and wiping down the metal ring for the hotpot with the nastiest rag that was sitting in a container with a bunch of dirty plates. Gross. Overall, the service was terrible, the food was ok at best but I guess for the price and ayce, this is what you'd expect. I do not trust the sanitation of this restaurant nor them storing food properly to not get sick however. On a positive note, I think the decor is beautiful. I love the bouquet of flowers they have hanging on the ceiling and complimenting the areas of the buffet. The tables and booths look nice, as do the plates and utensils. The layout of the restaurant could have been better thought out. The routes to the tables all lead to dead ends and have narrow walkways, meaning you have people constantly walking past you and people squeezing past each other, including the servers themselves. The fountain drink machine which is self served is right at the entrance in a high traffic area blocking the buffet for half room.

Yelp
For a soft opening this place was amazing. We showed up about 15 minutes before opening and there was already an estimated 40-ish minute wait. We put our names on the wait list and total wait was about 30. The prices are a little higher than most hotpot places in Austin, but not outrageously high. The seafood on the buffet was super fresh, the meats were good, and the veggies were fresh. One thing I really enjoyed was the cooked food section. It was nice to have a variety of hot noodles, fried rice, and other cooked stuff to munch on while waiting on the hotpot! The feel and look of the restaurant was very clean, classic, and modern. The flow of the walkways was nice, but maybe a little narrow in some spots. Overall this soft opening set a really high bar for when normal operations start

Yelp
There are many strange things about this restaurant. First of all, the prices for lunch and dinner. And there are too many things that are not there often. Like no spam or chicken wings. But the price is always the same. And it was a bit clean at first, but it got dirtier as I went. And the sesame oil didn't smell at all. It seemed like they used really cheap stuff. Please don't disappoint.
