Happy Lemon Convoy

Happy Lemon has secured the top spot as my favorite place for mango smoothies and the best cheese bubble waffle around! Whenever I'm craving a mango smoothie, this is the first place that comes to mind. The flavors are consistently delicious and refreshing. However, one downside is that parking can be quite challenging to find during peak times. I usually visit on weekdays in the afternoon, and it can still be a bit of a hassle. Despite this, the amazing drinks and treats make it worth the effort!

This place is awesome. Very good tea and boba. This would be a 4 or even 5 star, but everytime I come here they are out of boba, or milk tea and that is so frustrating. I understand you run out of items and toppings but the amount of times it happens is a bit ridiculous. I love the staff, they are always kind and friendly.

I'm a regular costumer at happy lemon I even have the app, once I came to this location I get so disappointed due the lack of costumer service this lady has!! She was super impatient even I already knew what I was gonna order, but my husband was trying to get a new drink and she was super rude and desespérate he asked her if they have yogurth drinks and she pretend she didn't understand his English when she greatly is NOT native, so I don't think her English is the best neither and if it was any English speaker can understand the word "there is any yogurth" not like anything from the other world more that because they are used to to this kind of questions! As well that another white costumers came after us and she was super nice to them, maybe she think she's white? But at the end she's not, she's immigrant! Plus everything I added she was "so what else🙄" when you need to always wait until the costumer finish their order so then you can answer that ! plus the waffles they give u to us 20 min later and they didn't call for them we have to get close to the register to get them , really would avoid coming to this location! UPDATE!!!! I went back again recently and guess what, still they are fking rude!!! I was waiting in line and the lady came and she's like "What you want?" Excuseeee me? I want to order, not even "hi what can I get u" DONT COME HERE

Located in a small complex with limited parking. I usually have to reduce the sugar level, as the drinks are usually too sweet for my liking. Drinks are enjoyable once that's all figured out. Their bubble waffles are usually good with a nice outer crunch with a perfectly cooked center. Employees aren't as friendly and the place is usually dirty when we visit. We usually just order from the kiosk and call it done. We don't ever sit in there and hang out, so the dirty space doesn't interfere with our visit, I guess.

Love it! It’s my favorite back 15 years old when I was in Beijing. And it is still so good even now. I had a Brown Sugar Almond Milk Taro Boba Tea, it was nice! With less sugar, it was not that sweet. It’s a classic brand and it can never go wrong.

First Happy Lemon I've tried in San Diego! Coming from Norcal, I was pleased that my rewards card traveled down to Socal. Surprisingly though, they don't have the same menus. I was looking for my usual passion fruit green tea, but they didn't have it. I opted to get the strawberry green tea (sub the topping for boba) for $6.75. Similar to Norcal prices. Boba here is quite good. I came another time in the evening on my trip and they definitely get really busy. Huge plus is that they open late (which is why they do so well). Parking in the lot hasn't been an issue for me yet! A ton of seating inside which was nice. No Norcal Happy Lemon has as much seating as this location. Perfect boba spot to satisfy your boba needs!

The mango is good, not great. The service is 5 star. The interior design is average, not cozy for a group of friend or family to sit down. Most people stand out side. The sofa is super dirty, hope they clean it. High chair is not ideal. Not sure will come back, thinking of DeBoba, cleaner.

MY FAVE BOBA SPOT IN SD! I've been coming here for years and they are SO CONSISTENT. Their jasmine green tea with salted cheese is the best. I typically order a medium, less ice, normal sugar, no toppings. I've tried the same drink at other places but I always find myself back here. It's the perfect amount of sweetness for someone without a sweet tooth. In addition, their original bubble waffle is delicious! The crunchiness is so satisfying. It's great to snack on alongside a drink or even alone :-) Definitely add to your list! TIP: Parking can be a lil difficult to find as they only have a few spaces but there's extra parking in the back & you can street park.

My husband and I ordered the Best-Tea Premium Combo (the Tea-puccino drink with Sky Cream & Oreo) to get the code and merchandise from the store's collaboration! The store was struggling to get the orders quickly because of the number of people that time, but they were really kind! While I liked the staff and the store's vibe, I kind of didn't like the drink flavor. It was just bland despite the Oreo flavor, and I didn't know what it tasted like, to be honest. Overall, it's still a good place to go to if you want other drinks from this store!

Smells amazing in here! Waffles are ok--not my thing. Ambiance is bright and fun. LOUD music. Lemon teas are super tasty and fresh. Real sugar. Real lemon. Price: $6,50 for hot honey lemon. Service is ok. One poor guy solo doing orders tonight. So my ONE drink took much longer than I would've wanted. Two "Order Here" signs. After standing at the register for 5 mins waiting for someone to take your order, they tell you to use the automated ordering system behind you. WTH. After they told me, the two ppl behind me got in to order before me :-/ And all the other customers that came in after me also waited at the register only to find out they have to order at the automated.

On the way home, we thought about heading over to Convoy to get boba and stumbled upon Happy Lemon. We stopped by around 10:00 pm and at that time, the parking, which is normally hectic, now had plenty of available spots. The place opens daily at 11:00 am and usually closes at 11:00 PM, except for Friday and Saturday when it stays open until midnight. We ordered the green tea with lychee and iced brown sugar. The drink was well blended, smooth and the sweetness was balanced. Overall, we enjoyed the refreshing experience.

Good place to get a drink and some snacks. I was here for the genshin impact promo they had. Parking can be a bit tough. But it's convoy so it's normal. Service is pretty quick.

I love getting the iced matcha latte w/ salted cheese super good. Also recommend the freshly squeezed lemon black tea. There's a lot of tables inside but I wouldn't recommend studying here. It's super loud & a lot of customers. Service is ok.. we were told the cashier wasn't working so we just ended up using the self checkout tablet. Also parking is a struggle.

Found this place in the same plaza as the KBBQ spot we had a late night dinner at and we ran over here 15 minutes before their closing time (thank you thank you for still taking our drink orders!!). We were craving drinks to help wash down our heavy meal and Happy Lemon definitely came to our rescue. We got the Iced Yakult Lemon Jasmine Green Tea (50% sugar) & Iced Milk Tea with Oreo Cookies and Puff Cream (30% sugar). Iced Yakult Lemon Jasmine Green Tea: I love yakult drinks and this one was yummy! I got 50% sugar, though it was still a bit too sweet for me. It reminded me of juice box Chinese lemonades. I still enjoyed this drink regardless. Iced Milk Tea with Oreo & Puff Cream: This was a solid drink. We got 30% sugar and probably would've been better with at least 50% sugar because the milk does overpower most of the sweetness from the oreos. This Happy Lemon location is extremely spacious, with plenty of seating available and two public bathrooms for customers to use! The staff was also kind and helpful. Would come here again!

We snuck in here with about 15 min left of their business day. Sorry about that but the staff took our order and was super nice and helpful on making a decision. The lady got the yakult lemon jasmine green tea which she thoroughly enjoyed. It had a nice cool tartness to it and felt refreshing. I got my iced oreo milk tea with puff cream. I should have gotten 50% sugar but i opted for 30%. It definitely would have been better tasting with 50% but worse for my health haha. Both were enjoyable the space was large with ample seating and clean restrooms. The AC was blasting and it was a bit chilly tho but we got our drinks and left so that the staff can close up and go home!

We came back and had a much better experience here when there are no crazy lines :) trick is to come on weekdays and during off peak hours :p Anyways, we placed our drinks, we got the milk tea with oreo cookies and puff creams and the strawberry green tea with salted cheese, and of course we added the oreo chocolate puffle. The line wasn't as crazy and the establishment were not so packed that we had trouble finding seats. The drinks and the puffle came out at the same time so we were able to enjoy them together. The ambiance was good, music was played, we were able to find seats no problem, enjoyed our drinks and snacks, though I'm not sure if they regularly clean and wipe down the tables since there are some spots that are sticky.

Always super busy in Happy Lemon and there is parking in the back but also quite chaotic. Best thing to do is to park somewhere on the street and walk over. Sometimes the line goes out the door and you have to wait outside. But it all goes fairly quickly. We ordered the Wintermelon Lemonade and Jasmine Green Tea with Salted Cheese. This was the first time I had wintermelon and fell in love with it ever since. I'm not the big salted cheese fan but it's not bad either.

Stopped in here for something sweet! There was one girl at the counter to order with. I ordered a couple drinks and two bubble waffles. The waffles always take a minute to prepare so I expected a little wait. There were a few people in line and the employee was great at doing it all! She gave me my drinks and waffles in the cutest happy lemon insulated tote. Definitely a nice surprise!

My nieces and nephew love this place. We normally go to the one by us in Del Mar heights so it was our first time coming to this location. Personally the workers were nice but it was so dirty. The tables all had trash I wished people would throw away their trash when they leave their tables. The bathroom was not the cleanest either so many paper towels on the floor. Then we had order our drinks and waffles cones they tasted different. Just not our favorite location maybe it was an off night.

Happy lemon has one of my favorite milk teas, and no matter the location the flavor is always on point. The milk tea with Oreo and puff cream is always so savory, mildly sweet (with 75% sweetness), and just delicious. Despite their small parking lot, I recommend you give them a try if you're in the area!

Came here after dinner in the same plaza. Ordered the oreo/cheese half/half waffle bubble with the oreo milk tea. The girl who called out #409 and #410 at the same time got herself confused. She handed my waffles to the #410 customer who held n touched the waffle. Then got mixed up because the girl said she didn't order that. So she had her sit down again. Meanwhile I was standing there waiting for my order. I was #409. So she took the waffle back from the girl who touched the whole thing and said "oh this is yours" and handed me the waffle she took back from the previous customer. I still stood there waiting for the rest of my order (a drink) and she asked to see my receipt and asked the other girls there if anybody made my drink yet. Nobody did. So she said she'll call me back up when my drink was ready. I was really about to tell her to make me a new waffle but I decided to let it go. The waffle was handled by another previous customer but overall the flavor was good and not too sweet which I like. We barely tasted the oreo but I liked it. The cheese was sweet and a little salty it was perfect.

Great service and love their to-go bags (reusable and sturdy)! My friend and I really enjoyed our drinks.

This place is one of the place have the best salt cheese drink. I always craving for the drink here. The negative thing is the parking is very small and it's very hard to find parking during the day. Good thing gì they open late until 11. I went at 10:30 PM and the parking is much better. Bubble waffle is good but omg this is the first time I tried the cheese bubble waffle and I was like where have I been. This is so good. It's perfect and balanced flavor between a little salty and sweet. I'm still craving for it. Great atmosphere and great customer service.

This place is comical. Workers get paid to have bad service? Talk about training your employees properly. Teas tasted so bad and watered down, compared to their other locations in San Diego. Don't even bother on getting extra toppings because, guess what? They don't give you shit! Asked for extra puff cream and boba on the A4 just to get the same amount when not paying for extra. So outrageous. Their other locations have no problem in putting in extra when you pay for it, however, here they really are stingy.

I love coming here and their drinks are so good but I don't understand why the young man took 20 mins for 2 drinks... I understand he was by himself but when the young woman came out.. she knocked out 3 orders within 10 mins. All of us were understanding and patient cause he was by himself but majority of the time he was doing nothing and slowly made the drinks like he was brewing for each and every cup. Until the girl came out from the back he started picking up the pace.

We stopped by Happy Lemon after having dinner close by, and some friends recommened this place to us. I ordered a strawberry jasmine tea with salted cheese and a match latte. Both were very good, I had never had salted cheese mixed in a drink, it seemed kind of weird to me, but I ended up liking it. I adjusted the sweetness to 30% and half ice on the recommendation of the staff, they were very helpful and friendly. I would absolutely come back, the inside was clean and well maintained, and it seems like a very relaxed place to hang out.

I ordered a mango matcha with boba ($16.07), but I can't seem to find any tapioca/boba in my drink.

The drinks are great, and the ingredients are top-notch. What falls short is that they are just slow at making the drinks. We ordered on Thursday night and it didn't look packed at all. However, they were already 20 minutes behind orders. If you have the app, and at least tell you an estimate amount of time plus an additional five minutes. I think they just need more staff.

They updated their inside with new couches and seating area, I love it. Plus my favorite drink, the strawberry shortcake, always hits the spot!

I haven't been here in awhile, but the drinks are delicious when I'm craving something sweet and/or in the mood for salted cheese foam. I do agree with the other review about the cleanliness, and upon my visit here compared to over the last years, I did notice that overtime, the shop could work on cleanliness. Customer service depends on who is working, but they're always helpful with suggestions on what to get. Recommendations: Salted Cheese Foam Black Tea, Mango Matcha, Avocado Matcha, Strawberry Jasmine GT w/ Lychee Jelly, Strawberry Shortcake, and Taro Balls for topping I also use my phone number for their reward system, and every 10 stamps gets you a drink I believe up to a certain amount. Overall, good quality drinks that not a lot of boba shops up here can offer.

Hmmm it may have been an off day but we ordered 5 different kind of drinks and no one liked them. I was dumbfounded because days before I so enjoyed my drinks at the La Jolla Location!

I love Happy Lemon! I really enjoy the kumquat honey lemon tea, especially a hot one on a cold day. Their cheese foam drinks are pretty good too. As soon as I walked in, I smelled the sweet scent of the puff waffles. I was so tempted to order one, but I was still really full from dinner. There was a line to order, and there was also quite a wait to have the drinks ready. I ordered 4 total drinks, and they offered a really cute white paper bag to carry the drinks. They have a lot of tables and seating inside, so it's a nice spot to hang out. They also have a restroom in the back. Parking here is hard to find. They have more spots behind the building, but it's still really crowded.

I LOVE THIS HAPPY LEMON!!! Boba texture cooked perfectly and staff was super friendly and welcoming. Amazing music and ambiance. It was very clean inside and me and my friends WILL be back. Perfect for college student late night sweet treat.

Happy Lemon is such a staple!! The drinks are consistently good and they maintain a vast, exciting menu. The service is great, even in a rush. It always smells like fresh waffles and is a good spot to hang out with friends. Beware of the parking situation, though, it is every man for themselves.

A couple friends and I came in to Happy Lemon after several friends recommended the place. We always wondered what was so special with a lemon place. We always see a line out the door when we would drive by on the weekends. The place was nice. We ordered the mango smoothie and green tea. The mango smoothie we ordered with zero percent sugar and amazingly it tasted really good and no after taste. We really liked their smoothies and this will be a regular for us in the future.

Something feels weird about reviewing happy lemon, but it was refreshing. The lemon drinks are bomb. I like the one with the green tea. Good indoor seating too.

I LOOOOOOVE Happy Lemon! It makes me happy! Their boba is always consistently the right texture. My default order is the Strawberry Green Tea with Cheese Foam add boba and pudding. I do really appreciate when the boba shops ask for how much ice and sugar you want. I usually get 50% on each. Sometimes I'll get even less ice so that it's easier to get at the goodies at the end when there's no more liquid. Service is always friendly and quick. I like that there's an app where you can order ahead and get points towards free drinks. Try all their locations! They're always on point! Enjoy!

love happy lemon but god the music in here is so LOUD. every time the male workers are on shift the music gets turned up to an uncomfortable volume---it hurts listening to it. and when there are a lot of people in here hanging out, the music gets even louder (this + the conversation volume is an insane combo). you can't even hear them call drink numbers. like, this has to be on purpose to get us out of here or something. pleaseee get off aux love the fruit teas and lemon series though

Sweltering heat in San Diego, you say? Popping in to a tea shop is always a good idea. 90° last weekend and I just finished lunch next door. My friend recommended the Milk tea with Oreo and Puff Cream -to which I added pudding, 70% ice and 50% less sweet. I was worried about the puff cream because some places have it so rich, it's like I'm eating a stick of butter. Happy Lemon's had a good puff cream, lighter than I expected. The gentleman that took my order was nice. Didn't say much but got my tea down super quick and had my straw ready when my number was called. Took off one star because the place is looking run down, with paint peeling off the walls. Parking is not the most fantastic especially if it wasn't a weekend and all the shops in the strip are open.

I have been to this location 2 times. The first time I went, we waited in an average line. After we ordered, we waited 40 minutes for our drinks (3 drinks). I love happy lemon in general, just not this location. I was in the area and decided to give it another shot. In my second visit, I tried their new drink, Milk Tea Slushie, was not sweet and not very flavorful. Would NOT recommend if you have a sweet tooth. In any Happy Lemon, I always enjoy/my go-to is the Honey Jasmine Green Tea (C3) or the Kumquat one. The parking is infamously horrible in any restaurant in convoy, but this Happy Lemon has parking in the front but also includes a special and more private parking lot behind the store which can only be accessed by going in a bi-direction one-way street, so it's a little scare when you're unlucky and sitting face to face with another driver. Otherwise, the inside is an average, clean, cute, and yellow boba shop.

The manager ALWAYS forgets my puff cream and never gets my order right. The self service screen is an even worse alternative to ordering in person since it doesn't offer anything other than large teas.

My first happy lemon stop was in San Jose. I love that it's local now! I have come in a few times and I always get different goodies. The bubble waffle is a solid selection. The service is usually quick and straightforward. The space feels busy. I would hang out but likely not for too long.

We came on a Saturday early evening, and the shop was spacious. There was no line! We got a small tall table, and it wasn't too loud. We were able to easily talk, and the staff were really nice and helpful. I got a Wintermelon with Fresh Milk because it's non-caffeinated but had to get 50% sugar (0% sugar isn't possible); it turned out too sweet for me, so next time I'd try 25% sugar. To me, it tasted like a brown sugar cookie. The other non-caffeinated option I was considering was the Taro Milk Tea but that had creamer. The drinks came out fast, and we had a nice time. We did attempt to redeem the Yelp offer for three stickers for checking in, but they didn't have any stickers and may even have been slightly confused.

Only three stars for a few really good workers and the taste of product is great but the lack of care for their employees makes me sick! You make your employees work on holidays and don't pay holiday pay or go off seniority for letting people off on holidays. The convoy location owners need to step it up and care better for their employees. Like why is there only one person working all the time and it will be so slammed, spend the money for another employee to be there. Do you even give these employees lunch!!!!!!????!!! Time for employees to stand up and check their California employee laws!!! Dasher that stops in multiple times a day and sees one employee all the time

Happy Lemon isn't necessarily my favorite boba place, nor is it my go-to, however, they have some good options! My club organized a social event here, so we were in communication with the management at Happy Lemon. There was misunderstanding with coordinating reserved seating, so we ultimately did not have a reservation, but it worked out perfectly fine. Although the venue is small, it was not crowded on a Friday night, so there was plenty of seating. In regards to parking, the parking area is so small and busy. There's several businesses in this shopping area, but the parking is laughable. That being said, they do have parking behind the building, which definitely saved a lot of people in my group. Parking in Convoy is always a nightmare, though. In terms of service, I thought that the drinks and waffles were prepared relatively quickly. Happy Lemon uses a token system: customers are given numbered tokens for their orders so that when their drink is ready, their number is called. They exchange their token for the drink. We caused a line, but they served us efficiently, which I appreciate. I ordered a strawberry green tea with boba, and it was great! The boba was soft and flavorful, both of which are qualities indicative of good boba. Several people ordered the taro option, and it looked really pretty, so perhaps I'll try that one next. The bubble waffle was also delicious and a nice compliment to the boba. It smelled so, so good in there! Overall, I think Happy Lemon is a solid place for boba. However, they have a lot of competition, as Convoy is saturated with other boba places now. Happy Lemon is a safe choice, though!

Happy lemon is on the top list of my favorite boba shops. The store was empty when we came in. Place was clean and noise was average but the service? Ooofff.. We ordered 2 drinks and there's atleast 4 people in the back making drinks and 15mins later, the drinks are still not ready lol. They were making the drinks out of order and the staff were so unorganized. They look like a bunch of kids playing around, and there's a guy that's not in uniform making his own drink. Don't you need a food handler's license to work in the kitchen? The lady that's on the counter keeps apologizing but not doing anything. I guess this what happens when the staff is left without a manager and

I have never had boba before but for my first experience, it was awesome. I was running around town doing errands with my son and since he was such a great helper, I wanted to reward him and he requested that we come here. I had a mango smoothie and he had some crazy concoction that only a 12 year old boy could appreciate. I wish I knew what it was so I could detail it here but he orders something different every time and always loves it. My smoothie was awesome as well. Lots of mango pieces and chunks and it was super refreshing but not super sweet. Looking forward to coming back there again (with or without my boy but don't tell him!!!)
